IC:
For millennia, the scorched world of Batva lay forgotten in the dark void of space. Lying on the edge of the galaxy with little to no known planets surrounding it, and being located just off of major hyper-space routes, it has been ignored for all of galactic history. That was the case until now, however.

Only recently has it appeared on star navigation charts. Only a handful of people have even seen this planet from orbit, yet no one has set foot on its surface. It sits in the darkness on the edge of current territory of the Eternal Empire. Its surface is a rocky, barren wasteland either drenched in unbridled solar light from the white dwarf star it orbits, or blanketed in freezing night. At first glance there seems to be little on this world other than rocks, yet a closer look would beg to differ.

Yet, the fact that it is new to the navigation charts, and may hold potential resources for the neighboring empire, was not the reason why it got the attention of the empire. There was a presence in the force detected from planets away originating from this planet. It was primitive, and curious. It was almost like it was trying to observe the worlds nearby. It could not make it far to the other worlds, yet its presence slowly radiated across the galaxy nearby to the Eternal Empire’s capital planets. It was something that had to have been checked out.

The Shadow Empire has been beaten so far, so it could be a hidden refuge never seen before by the galaxy. There could be a force relec stowed away there forgotten by the ages. Either way, there are secrets on the planet of Batva. Secrets that need to be learned and explored, and that have peaked the interest of the Empress herself.

The ships transporting the expedition to this world began to reach the orbit from hyperspace. The bright light of the star pierces through the darkness with the various asteroids floating in the void like a barrier around this unknown world. The lack of atmosphere made the scanners read the surface easily for a landing spot. Yet, already anomalies were being picked up. Deep crevices and tunnels that look bored deep into the planet’s crust were picked up while certain mountain ridges have strange shapes within them that look unnatural.

On a flat plain with a plateau to the Western horizon, the ships land. The members of the expedition get off the ramp in their protective suits and become the first known people of the galaxy to set foot on this planet. The landscape is as dismal as the view from orbit would suggest. Nothing but scorched rock for as far as the eye can see. Yet, the top of the plateau is different than usual. Almost like there are mountains on its top, but the way these mountains appear seem off as well. For those that are force sensitive though, the presence felt not too long ago that caused this expedition to take place is strongly felt. Yet, it is beneath the ground here, radiating from the planet itself it seems.
OOC:
Welcome all to Batva! This is the beginning of the New Worlds campaign announced in the previous month where we in the EE explore worlds custom made by players within the Unknown Regions around EE territory. This is the beginning of some good stories, and some potential for faction narrative as well. I am the GM for this campaign, as well as the player for an influential native character that we will soon meet both OOC and IC. I will be your guide for this. Both antagonist, and narrator for everything outside of player action. I created this world with some hidden secrets lurking in the dark, and I hope you enjoy!

Trinity rolled her eyes again as the machine, again failed to tell her anything from space, she should have been able to analyse the light coming off this planet to get some idea of what was down there, but nothing conclusive. "Kark!" She said, i am going to have to go down there. She flipped up a holomap of the planet, it was incomplete but there appeared to be a wide cave network, it actually looked like it might be a run ride if it wasnr a dark and uncharted planet. But this was the life she chose, she would go down there and find out if there was any new species, how safe they were and if they were useful.

Since when was she a 'first into the breach' kind of scientist though, oh right, the hazard pay from this mission was going to pay her new Datura, Phantom for work, but a new little rocket to go out and recapture her love of speed.

Her ship waited lazily in orbit until she gave the pilot the instructions to take her down. The ship was durable but was in full turtle mode just in case. She had picked a nice flat mesa to land on top of, and from their she could scout our. This could be a fun mission after all.

Trinity went out and suited up into her Guarderma and made sure all of her equipment was ready before sitting on her Phantom bike, ready to launch as soon as the ship was low enough.

Location: Aboard ship awaiting deployment
Equipment: Jackal ACR, Sk-RS Mk. IV, two fragmentation grenades, four flash bangs, lightsaber (concealed)
Objective: Escort the party
Mission: Do pre-mission checks, ensure the group makes planetfall and keep security up.

Damian was sitting in one of the side corridors of the ship as he cleaned his weapon. The maintenance of his weapons helped keep his mind busy, though that didn't stop the thing in his head from talking to him constantly. He had field stripped the weapon as he cleaned it part by part, inspecting each piece as it was finally finished. He would then begin reassembly, first going through the lower receiver, then doing the upper, before finishing by bringing the two pieces back together and testing the weapon. First the safety, then dry firing the weapon multiple times to test its various modes of fires, finally setting the weapon down as he went back over the mission parameters. He was here to ensure people's safety. They were heading to a relatively unknown planet, unknown planets meant unknown problems. His job was to make sure that those problems stayed within the realms of the scientific peoples' ability to deal with. If things got hostile, if things got to the point where rather than be studied or solved they needed to be put down, that's where he would step in. These people were important to the Empire, and as such needed to be preserved. As he heard the ship rumble as it got closer to the planet, he would stand up and sling the weapon across his back. He would walk to the bay where the speederbikes were staged seeing the woman already sitting on her specialty bike. Damian would simply nod to her as he walked towards his bike, doing pre-inspections before turning the bike on to test all of its systems. Satisfied he'd lower the power to a low idle so that its volume was low enough for people to continue talking in the bay as they approached the planet. Damian would then take his seat, noting the blaster pistol on the bike in case he had to shoot from it. Otherwise he'd been quiet, while he wasn't the kind to ignore questions or remarks Ultranauts in general were more disciplined to make less chatter. Today he figured that discipline would tested.

She was quiet in her place upon the ship. She had felt the ebb of power peering out across across the reaches of space, and her curious mind had latched onto the new and strange phenomenon with fervor. Her chair squeaked as her hands glided over the wheels, the automatic lock disengaging as she twirled the chair around.

Photoreceptors gleamed in the dark before fixating on her. Her hand extended as she smiled. One of six sets of eyes lazily ambled to her before the wolf body made itself plain in the light. Giving it a sniff, it made the equivalent of a sneeze as the smile shifted quickly to a frown before her eyes narrowed and her hand withdrew.

"It's a new soap." Fel informed the leader of the impromptu pack sharply. The photoreceptors narrowed in equal measure as the pair stared at one another. They were silent as the rest of the pack turned their attention to the pair and mimicked the sneeze sound.

"Are you quite finished?" Seathing words as the leader gave a cautious tick-tock swish of its tail. A sigh followed a growing smirk as she crossed her arms.

"You're lucky you're halfway adorable." A lighthearted tone as she nodded towards the door.

She didn't need to speak much as the six droids took a careful guard pattern around her. The chair and escort slowly making their way down to a dropship before carefully boarding with all the attention she didn't want from those already aboard and her wolf shaped escort droids.

The chair mag-locked itself to the floor in an out of the way spot as the droids lay around her, all attentive to the passengers around her as she happily hummed to herself and waited for the inevitable landfall.

The Empresses step-daughter was not an uncommon sight away from the woman's side, but her presence might have been strange to others as the flight crew glanced at the young woman before shrugging.

Jayce's Gear
Corruption
Dread King

Snoring, Comparable to an angry wookies growl, Could be heard even over the thrumming of the engines. The sounds emanating from a young man clad in deep black robes with trimmings the color of freshly spilled blood. Beneath the robes, barely visible through a small gap, Jayce donned his custom built armor that quite easily attached and sealed with the Dread King helmet Jayce currently had setting beside him.

His snoring ended and he awoke with a start as the ship shook and rocked during its landing. Heavily tattooed hands raised to his face, which had often been described as a "Baby Face", before slowly wiping over as if to wiped the sleep away. He stood with a groan and grabbed his helmet, Theyd arrived on Batva, a desolate sithhole of a planet with little to no atmosphere, Thus why he'd worn his armor and the Dread King.

This was to be his first mission as a member of the 404, It was his job to gether as much information as possible and report it back to the Empress herself. It was also his job to not let anyone find out what his job was or what branch he reported to, as far as the others would know he was just added security for the scientists and researchers.

Now that that ship was fully landed and the ramp was lowering Jayce grabbed his helmet and slid it on before sealing it to his armor and walking slowly down the ramp and onto tye surface of tye planet where he waited for the others......

Location: Underground on Batva

For years, Niransh Binzra has been puppeteering the tribes of Lachbroch. Born with mystical powers even she could not understand, she has managed to hone them as best as she can over the centuries of her life so far. She was far paler than even the rest of her kind, and her frame was far too withered. However, there was power writhing within the Witch Queen of Lachbroch. Power that eminates throughout the planet she aims to make her own.

Not too long ago it was she who scryed across the nearby stars in an effort to understand how much time she would have for the profecy she saw in the times of her long passed youth. A vision of her planet and people being destroyed, yet she could save them by using her powers. It was this that she has been working towards for centuries. To develop her people to fend off the invaders of the galaxy. Yet; invaders have already come. A small number of them have been camping on this world for several years now. She could sense them through the spores she sent down the ancient ventilation shafts and her magic. They were fearful. They were hiding from something, though what they were hiding from Niransh could not figure out. All she knew from those hermits practicing darker magics than what she performs was that something larger and more threatening lurked beyond the roof of the world.

The rest of her kind were oblivious. She envied them slightly for that. The ignorance that these caves were the only universe to know of must surely be bliss. That bliss was ruined for her centuries ago. Her role was the save her people. Not to be like them, but above them. For as long as the first set of newcomers have been camping in the caves near the edge of the roof of the world, Niransh has been planning for expansion into the territory of the other tribes. Her magics have been allowing her to see them lurking in the tunnels and warrens of the subterranean world. The primitives that have not been shown the wonders of Lachbroch. Yet, slowly she has been sublimely expanding her influence among the Batvadan race. If given more time, their wills would be hers like the tribes that surround the giant machine she calls home. She would have more thralls, and more willing tribes under her sway.

Today was different. Today Niransh sensed something new come to her world. The sensations were curious about this world, yet dutiful. These could be those who lurked in the void. Those the first newcomers were fleeing from to practice their dark ways as long as Niransh would spare them. Before her power could reach them. The first newcomers threatened her power over her people.
"Perhaps these other newcomers could prove useful?", she thought to herself trying to sense more of those who came to her world on a strange metal hut.
She would not reach out. Not yet. She wanted to observe these ones first. She wanted to feel their thoughts, and watch their actions from her refuge in the darkness below the void. When the first newcomers came, she thought the end times were here for her people. However, perhaps not. Perhaps her mission required more cunning to keep those from the void from destroying her people. She would see whether that would be the case in good time.

Damian would watch the entourage of the rest of the crew in question enter. Two scientist types and an operative. The operative was the kind of person that while Damian didn't exactly trust them, he figured they could handle themselves. The two scientists however, even with one having a small escort of her own, he knew would take priority in his mission. To say that he was looking forward to the assignment, would be a gross overstatement. He was a soldier. He was a fighter and warrior. Something like this, he felt was little more than babysitting. Something he'd never done as a Shock Trooper, or now as an Ultranaut. But there had to be a first time for everything.

With a little luck these little morsels will find us some trouble.

I'm going to tell you you're wrong.

But?

But nothing. You're still wrong.

Hehehehe, you're gonna be bored out of-

The voice in Damian's head stopped as it felt the brush of something. Something had touched them, however lightly, and while it might be imperceptible to those not used to sensing such things, it definitely recognized the feeling. It's eyes narrowed as it recognized the feeling and let a small smile slip in his mind.

Maybe not so bored at all. Do take care, because if it subdues you, I won't hesitate.

Don't I know it. What.... what did you feel?

Oh? I'm not telling, not until I get another joy ride out of you.

Damian would sigh inaudibly under his helmet. The voice in his head was quite insistent on that. He'd carefully concealed his abilities, and more importantly it, from the public at large. The Ultranaut Corps knew nothing of his abilities, only his name he'd kept from his old life. If that name got people's attention so be it, but they'd have to remember him to see it have anything happen. And if they remembered who he was, more than likely they'd know that he wasn't just some random soldier. That he'd been much better. That he hoped to become much more. The voice in his head kept offering training of its own, lessons in embracing its gifts, its abilities, its knowledge. Damian refused however, knowing that to fully master it he'd have to do so on his own or with another's guidance. He would have to master control himself. So for now, he used his iron will to keep it locked away. Kept and hidden away. He just wished he was a sight quieter about the whole thing.

Would certainly make this babysitting mission a bit easier.

Location: Surface of Batva

The expedition party, now all exited from the ship, now stands on the barren, rocky soil of Batva's surface. The scorched stone is black in appearance, and almost chalky in texture. Though this layer is not everywhere on the surface, and is more like dust on an antique. The bright light from the orbited White Dwarf Star earily illuminates the landscape, yet night is drawing near.

The star slowly begins to recede beyond the horizon. Though the sky looked like a mixture of night and day with the White Dwarf in the sky and the stars of other systems being seen, now it slowly turns into a true night sky. The lack of a proper atmosphere makes the beginning of dusk on Batva seem less like a beutiful sunset that could take place on other worlds, and more like the shadows taking over the landscape.

Still, no signs of life were visible, yet a strange feeling of being watched begins to creep into the minds of those present. This feeling is felt far more by the force sensitives present. Where it may just be mentally eased by the paranoia of this desolate, new world, to those the force has touched, it seems like eyes are peering into their very minds.

The plateau to the West exhibited some of those unnatural looking features at its top from the scans, and appears to be the closet site to where any of those features could be analyzed. To make more notable from the planet's orbital scans, it is one of the few features that had a lone circular structure nearby, yet not entirely a part of the rest of the lines that could be seen on the surface. There were a few others nearby, but none as large and complex. A few parts of these features looked like foundations, while others looked like unnaturally straight ridges of the rocky surface.

Thus, it is now early dusk on the surface of Batva.

Iridescent green eyes stared at the landscape before them. Seeing without seeing, she wondered as to the tendrils she had felt some ways across the galaxy and where they were hiding here. Her core tightened, muscles tensing in cursory test of feeling anything below her navel without success as one of the leader of the wolf droid pack came within reach of her hand.

She had moved to the farthest edge of their landing place that those around her allowed, looking, and listening intently for something that had played peekaboo with her.

It was likely for the better she enjoyed the game of hide and seek as she smiled.

"Take a trip over to that circle thingy? See what we stir up or try to make camp for the night here?" Fel spoke finally, enhancing her voice with a dip into the force so everyone behind her could hear. She hadn't turned around just yet, still intent upon catching sight of whatever had their eyes set upon them.

Or at least sensing it.

"Wonder if this place is like Ryloth. Or maybe like the Deep. Just empty after something came through and ate it all up." Wild musings as she kept herself entertained for the moment.
