DESCRIPTION
Since its conception, the Grand Army of the Lost (GAL), the Empire of the Lost's clone army, has used armor templates similar to those used for Phase II clone trooper armor, with modern material equivalents. Some of the higher-ups in the GAL's hierarchy sent a request for a new armor design to the Imperial Corps of Engineering, who happily obliged. Moff Von Strauss was quoted as saying, "...the better their defense, the better they can defend the Empire."

Luckily, while going through an old armorer database, an engineer on the project stumbled onto early designs of the Phase III clone trooper armor. The designs were never fully realized aside from some units, namely the 501st Clone Trooper Legion, being issued experimental variants of the armor. The engineers assigned to this project decided to fully transform the armor into what it is now, the Imperial Clone Armor Phase XIII (13). The number 13 was not used because of its inclusion of the number three (III), but because it took the engineers thirteen tries to get some of the parts to fit properly.
