- Prime mover: For a vehicle of its size, the Imperial Cargo Speeder is capable of moving large amounts of cargo or heavy objects across planets with ease, using either its frontward facing crane arms or rearward facing Harpoon Cannon
- Fast: The Imperial Cargo Speeder retains the excellent speed and maneuverability of its predecessors, which is further enhanced by SLAB and AIMS subsystems
- Shielded: Each Imperial Cargo Speeder is equipped with deflector shields, better protecting the vehicle from construction hazards and falling debris

Given the success of the Imperial Airspeeder, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant quickly saw the value in creating additional variants of the T-47 Airspeeder line. One of the newest variants of the airspeeder to come out of this realization is the "Imperial Cargo Speeder", a T-47 that has been modified to act as both a cargo transportation vehicle and a prime mover.
The speeder's front facing laser cannons were removed and replaced with a pair of heavy duty Cargo Crane Arms, while the rear facing Harpoon Cannon was retained, creating a powerful and versatile cargo transportation platform. Much like its predecessor, the Imperial Cargo Speeder is armored and shielded, and it does come equipped with both SLAB and AIMS subsystems, allowing the vehicle to quickly reach its destination no matter how far away it may be.
Of course, the Imperial Cargo Speeder is essentially incapable of defending itself in combat, and like the Imperial Airspeeder, is only rated for atmospheric operation. Nonetheless, the vehicle is a valuable addition to the Mahporeenian lineup, freeing up assets like the TIE/CL for use in space or other critical locations, while the Imperial Cargo Speeder takes care of operations "on the ground".
