Minerva said nothing in response but pondered on the senator's words. Wait for the right partner or just go for it. Sounds more like trying to pick between two choices than anything else. Time will tell if that becomes true or not.

When Loomi came back to reality Minerva noted the shade all over cheeks. The Mandalorian had to resist the urge to chuckle. Her Gondon friend was already flustered as it is. She gently patted the young Jedi on the left shoulder.

"You'll be fine, Loomi. It won't be long before you're back on Coruscant practicing your saber swings and levitating rocks around. Or having those glorifed naps your masters call meditation."

This time Minerva did laugh, amused at her own little joke. All in good fun, nothing malicious. Of course she knew meditations were somehow important to the Jedi as it is sharpening her own Beskad for herself. But as far as the warrior is concerned she can still tease the Order about that and some other things they do whenever the opportunity presents itself.

It was then Minerva noticed the lone sad boy standing away at the edges of the line. At the sight she calmly walked over before realizing it would be best to remove the helmet so as not to intimidate the poor lad. Placing it underneath under her right arm she stride over until meters from him. Getting down on one knee to his level she smiled warmly.

"Hey there, kid, I'm Minerva. What‘s your name?"

Ryana could tell that the two masters had history that especially affected her master more than ichika it appeared at least at surface level. And she didn't need the force to see Gabriel had retreated into his own mind and had gone to autopilot. She wasn't sure how to snap him out of it not at first at least or any good ideas of how to do it but it was obvious someone would have to.

She stood Infront of Gabriel "you promised to teach me as we helped these people master pryce I don't know what's wrong but snap out of it" she said. Slapping his face not hard enough to leave a mark but hard enough for him to notice and hopefully refocus his mind to the task at hand if these technoheasts attacked here they would need his help.

That's when she felt fear sink she felt herself back in igrattas servitude she thought she dealt with this at yavin 4's sith temple but she expected a beating as her face expressed fear "I'm sorry I didn't mean it" she said as the negative emotions of those around her get to her feeding her own insecurities and causing her to relive past trauma she tried to guard herself from Gabriels reprisal but wasn't sure what to expect.

The Vulptex

Thief of Thieves. Ninja Master.
The trees would seem to come to life as the branches answered the call of the Sith Adept.
First objective was to escape. The branches betraying the Vulptex only complicated that. But it wasn't a deal breaker. Drop down to the forest floor. Keep yourself low, out of sight of whatever was spotting you. The Vulptex's force signature had always been kept basically invisible, as their mastery of the Force Stealth ability was one of their earliest tasks within training. For now though, they needed to figure out what was spotting them....

Walking with Gabriel like this was both a distantly familiar thing, and new, all the same: the context of responsibility wrapped around their reacquaintance, having to mind the perceptions of those around them, made for a respectable distance. Restraint, where Ichika might have otherwise delved into other subjects as a friend might do, such as indulging her curiosity about the intervening years, filling in the blanks of the vague little that she did know already.

She didn’t catch how Gabriel had begun to slow at first, with her attention diverted towards explaining hers and Cailen’s purpose on Selvaris, but the change in the subtext (the low din of feeling emanating off of him, same as anyone else) combined with his switch back to social subjects rather than remaining on the task at hand pulled on her particular awareness just after she had looked to him, noticing the scowl that had appeared on his face.

“Peace, Master Pryce, has little need for a blade,” she replied slowly, carefully, turning more of her focus over to him, “and--” but her response tapered off when Ryana cut in with words of her own, and the half-Zeltron’s own expression fluctuated momentarily in mild irritation at the rudeness, as her sapphire gaze cut toward the Twi’lek… just in time to see the incoming slap. Ichika moved back a step, noticing a shade too late to intervene, and when Ryana’s hand connected with the face of her Master, the part of Ichika that was Gabriel’s friend would have been mouth agape, eyes widening in shock, but the swordswoman had done more than that to those deserving of it, and the therapist had seen these kinds of things before - yet part of her discernment was knowing whether to intervene, and if so, when.

Instead, her eyebrows lofted slightly in surprise and her mouth opened as if she had something to say to the young woman... but when the Twi’lek subsequently shrunk back in the wake of her slap, radiating fear, the meek words that followed provided a considerable degree of possible context, and Ichika's eyes flicked over to Gabriel, her mouth closing and becoming a line; there was no telling whether his padawan’s fear was because of him or not, and she couldn’t know how much and in what ways the years had changed him. She couldn't assume anything.

“Can we collapse the entrance?”
"Of course, but we will need to be cautious..." he said back before motioning to the zombies stumbling by the entrance "We can't say how much they'll be inside of that mine, neither do I want to wait and find out," the knight said looking back to Toby with a calm expression "Before all of them pile out after us we'll need to cave in the front entrance. We'll need to eliminate the ones outside first, then we'll have a brief window to take it all down." as long as both of them kept their cool they'd both be fine. Toby was ready for this, and deep down he knew it too.

Pointing to the front entrance, he highlighted the wooden supports that prevented the roof from coming down "If you look closely, there's wooden foundations close to the entrance. When we have both taken the ones out front, you will be tasked with destroying the supports. I'll protect you while you do so and if needs be send a strong force pushed into the tunnel to make it unstable."

Reaching down to his saber, he pulled it out and prepared to ignite it "If you have any questions, it may be best to ask them now. If not, then we better strike now before things get too crowded"

Toby listened attentively while Silas explained how they would go about accomplishing their task, looking at the zombies that were ambling about when the Knight pointed them out and explained the first act - taking out the zombies that had already emerged from the cave.

He nodded, then looked to the cave entrance as Silas indicated the supports that were in place to ensure the cave remained open and further explained how they would go about collapsing the entrance as the second step. Again Toby nodded. “Okay,” he said, indicating understanding, but when the matter of questions was broached, Toby shook his head - the Knight’s explanation was straightforward and sound.

Following Silas’ cue, Toby pulled the hilt he carried from his own belt - a substitute until he could build one all his own. He briefly recalled the basic lightsaber training he had received as an initiate, then the help he received in his initial weeks as a padawan to further build his confidence in wielding that ubiquitous symbol of the Jedi, becoming much more comfortable with the rather lightweight weapon. This would be the first time he used a lightsaber for real, but he felt confident in those initial foundations he had, and prepared to ignite that blade.

“I’m ready, Master Westgard." This was one thing he could do for this place and its people. They'd just have to eliminate the zombies without getting bitten - he knew how that worked. "Just remove the head, destroy the brain." Easy, right?

There was even a song about it!

The fire of her allies gave her openings enough; a wild swing from the Vong she'd struck first went wide, and she sped to its left side, stabbing up through the soft, fleshy armpit straight into whatever heart or vital organs it had. She shoved her blade so deep the tip sprouted from the Vong's neck.

A counter from one -- the other still reeling from a maground to the chest -- forced her away, and her weapon was left in the dead Vong. She wove away two steps, before taking three back in. With a telekinetic pull she yanked the sword back to her hand, just in time to parry a second strike and slash straight through the Vong's right elbow, severing it wholly.

With one dead and the others injured she pulled back, only for acid-spit to fly from their amphistaff arms. She evaded right into a swinging whip. She rolled to dodge the second, but the strike clipped her shoulder, giving her a nice gash on her armour. Still, she felt the sting on her skin and sinew. She withdrew further and took stock of the battle.

Trees -- moving, there was a Sith here. The Pathfinders were handling the Sith soldiers well enough. Vulptex quiet, as she was meant to be; Borra was taking his shots. Her-

The cut stung in a way she didn't expect, and with sudden clarity she reached onto her arm and pulled nearly a quarter of a litre of blood and fluid out of herself, flinging it onto the ground. She watched as it was consumed by a grey poison of some kind. It had to be magic, or nanomachines; otherwise the antisepsis field built into her armour would've caught it.

"There's a Sith here -- kill it fast, or our problems get worse," she said over the comm. She steeled her body once more and launched forward, barreling past the first swings of the Vong and getting once more into close combat with them.

“I’m ready, Master Westgard."
Silas nodded and swiftly ignited his saber "Good, try to keep up" he said with a brief smile before rushing at the five zombies that were still stumbling around. With astonishing speed, the knight went right after the three on the right and soon enough they'd soon begin to notice the two intruders that had come to destroy them. The first zombie let out a screech like scream at Silas, but before it could go on longer the knight launched forwards and took off its head with a lightning fast strike. One was down, two more were left standing.

Rolling across the floor close to the other mindless creatures, Silas fluidly got to one knee to slash at the closest zombie's legs before force pushing the other into a nearby tree. The zombie on the floor desperately tried to claw his ankles, however, its fate would soon be met with a downward stab into its brain "How are we looking Toby?" Silas shouted to the padawan before throwing his lightsaber at the zombie against the tree, removing its head from its body in the process.

Calling back his lightsaber, he looked to the entrance and began hearing echoes of the undead from the tunnels "Quickly, it's now or never!"

The battle wouldn't last much longer. These troopers and their armor was good at stopping the majority of their forces weaponry, and the Vong soldiers, while mostly attracted to Tallara, The Vulptex and himself, would still tear through anything in their path. Like trees.

More soldiers, six in total, came up to address Dominik's rather violent treatment of their friends, firing their particle beam rifles at him with deadly intent. The first shot hit his helmet, and the beskar there is the only thing that kept his head together. His brain rattled against the tree he was next to and he went to one knee, dodging another blast that filled the air with burning mulch. He leveled the rifle at them and fired. The ones in front were smarter than those who came previously and jumped out of the way. The two behind them weren't so fast and got a whole torn through their chests in the time it takes to blink. Four were left, and Dominik didn't care about playing around. They needed to deal with this patrol and move on to the base, no doubt they knew that their enemy was here already. They'd be evacuating personnel and erasing drives at this point.

He pulled drew out the heavy-looking pistol from his left hip and stepped forward. One trooper scrambled to his feet and fired, hitting Dominik in the shoulder to spin him. Towards that trooper. He grunted with pain and raised the blaster and squeezed. He was really getting tired of these guys! A short quick orange beam hit the trooper, and in the span of a screaming, panicked, and agonizing second the man was disintegrated.

The three remaining troopers were already moving to shoot him, and Dominik swiveled his aim to the next one, the Disruptor pistol readying for another shot.

Then the trees exploded. A White Vong experimental monster came roaring through, directly at him. He turned to shoot it instead, but it slammed into him, the thing just too fast, and threw him a dozen feet and crashing into the trunk of another tree. He hit the ground with a flat thud and an exhale of pain as those monstrous feet stomped their way towards him. He got up to his knees before the things leg kicked him up into the tree again, knocking the wind out of him and possibly breaking something. It held him against the tree with that leg, pinning sideways and crushing him with it's strength. Dominik had dropped the Magrifle when he was kicked, and that massive mantis claw hooked under his helmet. The thing got ripped off and it raised it's other claw to strike down at his exposed head.

There was the sound of rasping steel and the smack! of a blade cutting through hard flesh. The Vong, clawless on it's right arm, still battered him with the stump of where it's wrist would have been, uncaring for the injury. Dominik had drawn Ebony from behind his back, and now jabbed it into the beast's exposed kneecap between the plating. He twisted and pulled, severing the thing from it's own leg. It's second claw came across to take him square on the crown, but only cut a messy wound into the tree as the agent dropped, the leg no longer holding him. He hit the ground and rolled, narrowly dodging the next blow by the angry Vong creature. He got to his knee and aimed his Disruptor pistol at it. Only to get fired on by those karking troopers once more. It blew him back and he got behind tree cover, thinking.

"There's a Sith here -- kill it fast, or our problems get worse," she said over the comm.

Well, one more thing to think about. And he was pretty sure he was the only one that could really take one out, but he couldn't do that if he had this Vong and these troopers on him! "Vul!" He spoke over comms. "Get these guys off me, deal with them while I go after the Sith!"

The slap came as a surprise. His thoughts interrupted in a way that only enhanced his ire. There was a red mark left behind on his cheek, the tips of her fingers reaching up to his downturned brow. A storm raged behind his eyes, his brows like thunder clouds. He took a step toward his padawan glaring laser bolts. He gritted his teeth, his anger overflowing. But he knew he wasn't truly angry at her. He was thinking of cultists and blood. He sighed, closing his eyes.

"Never," he said slowly, calmly, "Ever, do that again." Despite his attempt at pressing down his anger he stormed past his padawan, his robes fluttering in his wake. "Help the refugees. I need to look into this disease more." He turned around sharply, avoiding looking at Ryana. "Wu Yong, stay with her. Make sure her bedside manner is more appropriate. We will have words about this later."

And he was off, headed back towards his ship.

Ryana figured he'd be angry he had every right to be and she knew he would yell at her over it. She had it coming she had been a horrible Jedi so far failing to explore the ruins on yavin 4 with driedi due to her being a burden on tattooine now this. She didn't know how to help these people she couldn't heal through the force or now how to treat diseases as a young boy walked up to her "miss Jedi will you help me I can't find my mom" he asked ryana she took his hand tenderly and walked with him and wu yong "where was the last place you saw her" ryana asked.

The boy looked up at her "I don't remember all these tents look familiar" he said as the trio walked together for a few minutes a female voice could be heard and a woman could be seen running up and hugging the young boy as he screamed mom in joy.

As she watched them walk off ryana had a sad smile she couldn't remember her mothers face or name or the sound of her voice as the young boy turned back to her and waved she waved back. She felt a great sadness inside herself she wanted to serve the light and felt inside herself that it was right but all she did was mess up she let her emotions get the better of her. Even her element that spoke to her was fire during the wilder training session the element of passion he called it. She took the lightsaber off her belt looked at it all she saw was igrattas head laying on the ground cut from the rest of his body by his own lightsaber necklace the same necklace that she used parts from for her own lightsaber.

She handed wu Yong her lightsaber "tell Gabriel I'm sorry I've been such a problematic student and that while I'm eternally grateful you and he gave me my freedom for a short time I won't be a burden on him any more" she said as she walked off.

The sudden smack of Ryana’s hand on Master Pryce’s face snapped Cailen out of his thoughts. He blinked, wide-eyed and lips parted in an open frown as he watched silently. He didn’t need the Force to sense the tension that hung off the physicality of her outburst, either; Between both Masters and the Padawan, there was enough unresolved turbulence for an entire village.

Cailen watched Gabriel Pryce Gabriel Pryce leave on his own to further the assignment, leaving Ryana mina Ryana mina there with his droid. He pitied her situation, but she left the group before he could comfort her. Cailen looked up to Ichika Masudo Ichika Masudo then with curiously troubled eyes, but he reserved all his questions about what had just happened for a later time.

They still had a job to do.

“Master Masudo…?” he asked, trying to find a balance between a reassuring smile and seriousness.

“Where would you like to start?”
