As they final words were uttered from Kay's mouth Harvey was standing and explaining what Veiere was doing at the Jedi Temple, but was a little mistaken in his wording and that was not a good sign, he saw Lady Kay quickly play the recovery game but he could sense the tension between the Yutan's delegates as they looked at Harvey as he sat down.

Viktor spoke up and called for Harvey to speak more, but he had a bad feeling that it would be made a little worse if he continued to speak, but if he didn't speak it could be disastrous, so there was truly only once choice.

Standing there still even after this sudden turn that struck the other members hard he stood like a wall, he kept his comments to himself as he watch them continue to speak among themselves as they tried to fight one another at what had been said, he knew that this was going to be an interesting one to get out of.

He knew that Lady Kay had the skills to talk herself out of a pickle, she was very good at speaking to people, but this one seemed a little harder to get out of due to it not being Kay who had spoken, he just hoped Harvey could save it.

There seemed to be a slight error in Harvey's speech. He misspoke of the King's efforts in the Jedi Temple. Strange. This sort of occurrence had never happened before. Was the android due a memory wipe?

Elsa looked at her companion, brow furrowed in confusion. She knew better than most that he would be the last one to incorrectly provide information. Harvey stood up once again, addressing the Yutan delegation.

"Apologies to all. It seems if I have misspoken. What I intended to say was that the King of Commenor is currently surveying the damage to the Jedi Temple. No plans for construction have been made. However, the benefits of a renewed Jedi presence on Yutan remains the same. Peace, safeguarding, protecting the innocent from those who wish to prey upon them. These are all values that the Jedi Order upholds. A renewed presence upon this beautiful planet will only serve as a benefit to the people of Yutan."

The android then shot a somewhat cold look at Viktor, slightly upset that he would drag out a comment that the advisor had made to Lady Kay privately.

"That was all."

"Bureaucratic entanglements? What do you mean?" the fact-checker asked.

"There might be some suspicions: there seems to be some irregularities in vetting the new hire. Look, Yula once got the Sith Inquisitor in trouble for that sort of thing, but I do not wish that sort of stuff to happen ever again"

"I understand"

It led to the infamous Cyrillia incident, but the cost of victory on Dromund Kaas also led them to realize that they could no longer conduct offensive operations on their own, especially not after what transpired on Malachor V. The Jawa, however, was unwilling to get into the details, of fear of telling a lie to that fact-checker that couldn't repair the computer equipment worth two beans. And he realized that he must tread lightly around fact checkers, and he often heard tales of what happened with angry fact-checkers from his Senate days. He saw other Senators entering debates with their fellow staffers and sometimes even entering fisticuffs when they were outright lying. Man he didn't wish that to happen again...

"Please just Darlyn, or Minister if you insist on a title." For some reason, 'Mr. Excron' left a bit of a foul taste to his mouth, for what reason he knew not but it hardly mattered at the moment. He'd have time for self reflection later, he had an unnerved feeling and a plan of attack to come up with. "I've always been a patient hunter, but I haven't had much for criminal scum that sink to this level. Still it would be best to give Erinhart just a little longer. Surely he's found some sort of lead but none the less, every moment is precious. Have the shuttles prepped with ground forces, once Erinhart gives the coordinates I want to be able to infiltrate and take down their stronghold swiftly. We won't have terribly long to get work done once their ships engage ours."

He looked over the void of space, with Sev Tok a lovely little marble against the pitch backdrop. It was curious why they picked this place, removed but so close to the expanding Commenori government. One would think slavers would be terrified to operate so close to someone known to despise them... now with battlecruisers at her command. Then again, they couldn't be that intelligent, so perhaps it was some sort of belief in their superiority? Who could tell..

"Surely we should be showing up on their sensors shortly. I want every ship with ion weaponry ready to open fire after the initial contact. They'll get one chance to peacefully surrender, then we disable them and take the people out of their custody. Have our Receiver prepped to scramble fighters if they choose to fight back with more than their smuggling and transport vessels. Otherwise, have communications ready and keep scanning the area. I've got a bad feeling about something."

The cold look from Harvey went without reaction. The man's words however did not. Viktor looked briefly at the other members of the Yutani government watching them become increasingly more fidgety. Viktor for his part calmly but for the first time since they all sat down opened the folder in front of him and seemed to quickly scan the first page before closing the folder and look from Harvey to Kay.

"Your Majesty."

Viktor paused for a moment.

"We gathered here today to discuss and entertain the possibility of a lasting and binding alliance between Commenor and Yutan. However what we received is apparently not only a Delegation from Commenor but a representative from the Jedi Order offering Annexation through manipulation."

Viktor looked up as a nearby door opened and a young woman came in moving over to Viktor and whispering in his ear. Viktor gave her a nod before she disappeared back through the same door. Viktor turned back the delegation taking a bit of a measured paused. After a few minutes he spoken again.

"Your majesty perhaps now would be a good time to take a quick recess. There is tea and refreshments in the next room. Please help yourself. We can continue the negotiations in say 30 minutes."

Viktor and the members of the Yutani government stood but didn't make any move from the table. At the same time the door, the same door the young woman had emerged from, opened once again and remained open.

Harvey spoke up then, giving what seemed to be a good enough answer for her. However the Yutan government didn't seem entirely convinced. They were growing a bit restless and that made Kay start to worry. What if this didn't work? What would they do then?

She looked to Viktor as he addressed her. What he said caught her by surprise. Kay's brows furrowed. Annexation by manipulation? She didn't mention anything about occupying them. Merely helping them in areas where the Yutani felt it needed. And it wasn't as though she was demanding a bunch of credits from them either.

She needed to use a different tactic.

A recess was soon called and the Yutani had all gotten up, waiting for her and her people to leave. For a ahort while, they were being dismissed. Kay got to her feet, hoping that Harvey and Elsa would follow suit. She bowed her head to Viktor and the Yutani officials. "Thank you. Some tea and a bite to eat would be most agreeable right now. We will see you in thirty minutes."

Kay stepped out of the meeting room to the opened door, stepping inside. She didn't realize that she was holding her breath until she had let it out, her eyes already searching for the tea. She went to the pot, smelling the steeped leaves in the air and poured herself a cup. All that she could do now was to turn to her people, cradling her cup in her hands and give them a small smile. She couldn't give up on herself or on them. "That could've gone better. Yutan has gone through a lot, so I should've expected it. Veiere and I had been discussing a proposal for those within Commenor's territories. Perhaps when this recess is over, I can reveal it to them. Maybe then they will see that I didn't come here to strip them of their power."

Vikras offered [member="Darlyn Excron"] a curt nod in response, his instructions were all very standard procedure and to his request the Admiral gave a small smile, "As you say Minister" he complied and turned to nod to his second, "Mr Hekharn, maintain sensor sweeps of the area if you will. Open a channel to the rest of the fleet" he spoke with less consideration for the CO as he had for Darlyn, turning to face the bridge as the younger man gestured to him in confirmation that the frequency was open and all other Commenori Vessels were receiving him. "Gentlemen, we have been tasked with eliminating a group of rather notorious criminals in this sector. Begin preparing all military personnel for active duty. Raise shields and ready for combat effectiveness. If possible we will be taking these men alive so that they will be held accountable for their crimes, however, you all know your task and your priorities. I'm certain you won't let me down. Vikras out". Having relayed his regards to the Captains beneath him in the chain of hierarchy, he stepped away from Darlyn to move back across the catwalk separating the two operating stations, looking down to the chief staff who were monitoring their progress and mediating all of the vessels systems functions. "Reroute power from all unnecessary systems and transfer them to weapons, prioritize ion weapons fire and flak. Shields, Weapon systems and engines are to be our priority targets" following with Darlyn's wishes yet ensuring their vessel wouldn't be jeopardized, Vikras depended on his crew as much as they did his better judgement. Together they would work in peak efficiency if all was to plan, targeting shields and then dismantling the following systems to halt all ability of escape and retaliation before having them boarded.

"Sir, we're receiving a transmission from a foreign vessel" the lieutenant at the Com's station called out above the others, a hail from a much smaller vessel further out within the sector demanding immediate attention as if on perfect cue with the Admirals orders; skepticism would have him question the timing, professionalism and experience however told him that no plan was perfect and out in the vast cold blanket that was space, you had to prepare for everything to combat your expectations. "Requesting immediate assistance, they've sustained heavy damage and are under attack by identities unknown" the calm yet efficient lieutenant relayed the information almost without the same sense of urgency that the foreign vessel would be feeling, the crew all trained for situations like these, they knew what to expect moving forward.

"Take us in. Signal the Receiver, send two interceptor squadrons to scout ahead. Relay our ETA and have one of the Ardent Frigates board and provide medical. All other vessels are to stand-by to engage the enemy. Open a channel to the assailants and put it on screen". Turning to make his way back towards Darlyn Excron he gestured to the man with a tilt of his head, a brief nod in kind; "Would you like the honor of addressing this band of Rogues or shall I?".

Climbing the stairs leading to the entrance of the grand Jedi Temple, Veiere hadn't anticipated to come across the company of others so soon into his venture. Much of the area was heavily shrouded within the presence of the Force, perhaps he had misinterpreted their presence to be the nature of the environment they shared however, as he found himself at the height of the entrance, he turned sharply to find [member="Lynn Nantaris"] descending from one of the pillars built of stone. For a second, his eyes widened in surprise and alarm, the unusual nature of the womans movements caught him off guard, she seemed to weave her way down with some kind of unusually feral nature about her and he hadn't quite experienced anything of it's like in the past. It was only then that he was alerted to the presence of others within the area and his gaze was then taken to the temple suddenly questioning just how many remained following the attack and sacking of the temple in the absence of the Galactic Republic's safety net. He couldn't yet see the two, [member="Arisa Yune"] nor [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] yet their signature felt very familiar, those that he had met recently during Commenor's hosting a meeting of trade between the Iron Empire and the Silver Jedi Order, though he knew them not quite well enough to identify the pair without visual contact.

Looking back up at Lynn Nantaris, he gave a slightly sideways nod, curious about her origin though speaking first to identify himself with a calm and inviting tone. "Hello there...-I did not expect company, my name's Veiere. Who might you be?", Veiere's Jedi Attire wasn't quite of the typical armor those of royalty would fashion. Quite the opposite in fact though neither was it the traditional garb of the Order, he had crafted it himself to give a sense of formality away from monastic setting while too trying to appease his Jedi sense of self. Upon his sashe wrapped around his waist, a leather belt holding his Lightsabers of Svivren both uncoupled and resembling two identical single bladed hilts; upon his right hand he bore the Promissium Annulos, his wedding ring that resonated with a force signature of its own embellishing the calm of the lightside while two keeping him in touch with [member="Lady Kay"] telepathically.

"How many others are present within the Temple...-It has been a long time since I was here last".

Harvey spoke again, and gave what seemed like a good response but gosh-darn-it all of the delegates from the Yutan seemed to stir even more, and he hated when diplomats began to huddle and talk like that, it usually meant bad news.

It's not that he hated the diplomats, that wasn't it, because he could take them on easy enough, they were usually weak things, it was that in a snap of the finger a whole army could be breathing down their necks, that's what he hated. Looking at the delights they seemed on edge to do exactly that as he watched them scurry and whisper their way around the room.

Finally Viktor spoke up and talked to Lady Kay and told her some mambo-jambo about Annexation through Bla-bla-bla, and they would have to speak and discuss about it or something, he didn't pay attention to him because he was too focused on one particular member with a belly the size of the death start bouncing around the room trying to figure out how he packed that without needing several people to carry him.

When they came out of the room he saw Lady Kay make her way for something but was obscured by her body as she finally moved and did something in front of her, as he stood towards the door he listened to her talk about how she and her husband, Veiere had been discussing certain proposals for a while before then and how perhaps could use them as a negotiation factor in this more then shaky situation that had risen between herself and the members of the Yutan.

As Kay finally moved he finally realized, she got her dang tea.

"Any updates on the IT guy? Don't want to outsource the repair jobs too hastily if there is some way to do so in-house" Klesta asked the human resources person in charge of the office.

"There are still some irregularities" the HR guy answered.

"Irregularities? What irregularities?"

"There may be some visa problems"

Klesta realized that perhaps the whole Cyrillia incident might have caused some to raise the problems of security in the hiring process of people laying outside Commenori territory. Yula might have had caused problems because of the reasons for recruiting people, even though corporate records seemed to indicate that there was actual merit to hiring many of those employees. But work visa problems were often unpleasant for many employers, and Klesta knew it. Not just based on his predecessor's experience on Cyrillia, but long before then, especially under the Lasedri administration, where Hosnian Prime had more than just a few problems with that sort of thing, especially for those with known ties to the One Sith (or Zero Sith if one was close to the smuggling world back then, after Darth Veles defected during the early days of the Lasedri regime).

Both Harvey and Elsa followed Kay's lead, standing up and exiting for some tea. Harvey was silent, but his face had a cold, angered look about it. While Elsa reached over to make some tea, the android spoke out, quietly but deliberately.

"Who does that sack of meat think he is? To dare accuse Commenor of manipulating Yutan to ally with us? These unfounded, unanalytical statements can not go unpunished, Your Majesty. The honor of your planet and everything you stand for is at stake."

"Calm down, Harv," Elsa replied, putting a slender hand on his shoulder. "We're not going to solve anything by starting arguments and raising voices. We'll only cause more damage than has already been done."

"My Lady, there is always another option."

"Harv, you're not seriously considering that, are you?"

Harvey looked around briefly, to make sure they were not being spied upon, and spoke again, only this time, his voice was scrambled, barely understandable in an attempt to prevent any hidden microphones or bugs anywhere near the vicinity from picking up what he had to say next.

"....zzzztttt....Commenor's military is, by my calculations, powerful enough. If diplomacy is not successful, this may be the next best option....zzzt."

Elsa shook her head disapprovingly. "Is that what you want? People to die?"

The android's voice went back to his normal, flat tone. "Loss and sacrifice is unavoidable in certain scenarios. I am not recommending this option yet, Lady Kay, but I merely ask that you do not behave like most organics and simply keep an open mind. That is all I ask."

Once the delegation passed through the door he guarded, he followed. But this time, rather than stand by the door, he stood just behind the shoulder of the queen herself. Slowly his gaze fell upon each occupant on the room, giving them the same, emotionless, observant stare. From Crguer, to Elsa, and finally onto Harvey. Orbit was born and raised a soldier, but he knew a diplomatic catastrophe when he saw one. As a royal bodyguard of the queen, her safety was Orbit's priority above all else, and currently he didn't believe it in the most secured status as possible.

Slowly, once Harvey had finished his, 'advisement' Orbit leaned towards the monarch's ear and whispered, "Queen, I would like to request an extra security detail of four royal guards to your own private detail. I fear the situation is in a dire enough condition to require extra security." With that, he leaned back into his rigid position, and returned to his former expression of unbiased viewer of the conversation.

Once the Commenori Delegation was in the next room Viktor and the other's took their seats. Viktor took a sip of water before he turned to his fellow members. Some of them were besides themselves. Viktor could understand how they felt.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. I know you are upset. I know you are angry. I admire your dedication to your people and your ideals."

He paused.

"However you can't nor should you allow it to show. For the sake of these negotiation you must keep it contained. The very safety and stability of the people you represent are at stake."

Viktor frowned.

"Diplomacy is a lot like warfare. There is strategy involved, tactics to consider. Now on the surface it may look like they are not on the same page. Having her Highness say one thing and then her Associate say another. Perhaps however they are trying to out maneuver us. Trying to throw us off our game. Trying to rattle us."

Viktor sighed.

"Sure we may truly be facing another subjugation by Jedi hiding behind another peaceful government as Harvey's comments suggest. Then again we are definitely looking at putting the faith of the people in a monarchy where they have no say."

Viktor stood turning and looking out the window behind him.

"Either way we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. The real question here is not whether we subject ourselves to Commenor. The true question is whether we align ourselves with a current Alliance or form an Alliance of our own. Regardless the days when a single planet could stand on it's own are long gone."

Kay took one long grateful sip of her tea after she had spoken. Harvey spoke up first and for what she knew that he was, this came at a surprise. He valued honour and for some reason thought that hers was insulted. But she didn't really see it that way. This was a tactic done by those that were unsure of themselves and of their future, yet clung to the ground that they stood on. She could relate to that.

Elsa spoke up before Kay could, doing her best to calm her companion down. But was it working? When Harvey spoke quietly, she couldn't quite make it out. But certain words she did pick up on; "military...powerful enough...next best option." Both of her brows raised as her jaw dropped slightly. Kay took a moment, staring into her tea cup as Farlon suggested that she increase her security. Did he mean for it to happen right now? Or after they returned to Commenor? Everyone was getting so on edge, all except for herself, Rex and Elsa. Perhaps that was brought on by the bickering of the Yutani officials.

When Kay spoke, she did so quietly, her eyes on Harvey. "We are not oppressors and aggressors. Our military is for defence, not to bully others. Trying to act that way would only push them further away." She sipped her tea and glanced over her shoulder to Farlon. "Increasing my security detail right now would only show them that we feel threatened and that are afraid. But I'm not afraid, nor have we been threatened." She looked to the others then, namely Harvey and Elsa. "Veiere and I have been talking about introducing a Senate with representatives from all of the worlds under our care. This way they would all have a voice, retain their sovereignty and be able to relay to me any issues or of what they need. In otherwords, we'll become more of a Republic. Such a word holds...history, especially here on Yutan. I can only hope that it will be enough of a bargaining chip for them. They are afraid of losing their power to govern themselves. We have to show them that that isn't what we intend."

And she knew just the way to do it....

The waves of conflict shook as soon as everyone had entered and the door was closed, Harvey went off about honor and shim sham while Elsa attempted to calm him down, she definitely had her hands full, but there was more tension underneath the skins of everyone who stood around him, about the future of the negotiations.

His eyes flickered throughout the room, the one who was supposed to be out of it was the most calm, and the steely eyed man was loosing his control over himself, what a sudden change of perception, but that's stress for you, whether you think it is or not. He watched as Kay continued to sip on her tea as the room went straight to conflict and fighting, but he knew that was not way Kay would want to do, and that is not what she would do, no matter the situation at hand.

Before anyone else could speak in a soft tone Kay spoke, everyone's lips shut and their eyes gazed over to the queen and listened to her words, taking the wisdom that she desired to be taken from them, she was a smart woman and she knew what she was doing, that made him very happy to have her be his employer rather then someone else. She was the pacifier to conflict, silencing the agitators and the aggressors and telling them that she was better then them because she could use her words to win battles not her physical force or her influence. "It is a smart move, and it will help more governments come under our banner, it will also cause a lot more work for you and your husband, leaving you to focus more on important matters then the matter of state and deciding on matters, you will have a senate to help you, full of representatives." His deep voice came out after Kay had finished talking his hand stroking the chin of his helm.

"It appears so, and charges of illegal slicing were also laid"

"Probably be useful for the head office's cybersecurity on Ziost. However, I want you to sift through the remaining people you interviewed for that position and see whether there is an offer that can be made"

The HR staffer responsible for staffing issues such as this quickly retreated back in his office to take a second look at the remaining candidates once the one with the irregularities has been hired to another position, that of IT security, based on Ziost. Which could likely mean that there is change of plans due to the nature and location of the job. There were six interviews being conducted for that very position, what happened to the other five? Was Klesta part of the original interview process? It was going to be a long day, he thought, while he also reviewed the original candidacies for the job.

Viktor gave it a few minutes for his words to sink in. For the inevitable realization to hit the group. Viktor after all was a man of extreme patience. Slowly and surely each man and woman at the table went through the stages. From outrage, to anger, to denial, and finally acceptance. Acceptance that not just their world but the Galaxy was changing all around them. Acceptance that despite what they may want to believe there was really nothing they could do about it........No way to stop it.

"Ladies and Gentlemen let's see what they have to say. If we like what we hear then we move on. If not then we can negotiate a better position or walk away from the table and face the times ahead on our own."

Viktor paused.

"The most important part is that you remain neutral. That you give nothing away. Most importantly that you never let them know what you are thinking. That is the only way we are going to be able to stay on the correct side of the negotiations. I am asking you to keep putting your faith in me. To know that I have your interests at heart and the resolve to see Yutan and her people remain safe, secure, and prosperous."

Viktor took a sip of his water before the looking back at them all.

"So are we in agreement?"

Harvey slowly nodded his head, resting his chin on his hand.

"You...are correct, your Majesty. Military force should only be used in defense and as a last resort. My apologies."

Elsa looked at him, concern on her face.

"Are you....ok, Harv? I've only seen you that riled up once before...when Father...you know."

Harvey gave his companion a smile, putting her at ease.

"I'm fine, Elsa. Lady Kay's strategy is the most likely to be effective. I say we pursue it."

Internally, the android made a note to schedule a memory wipe. Such irregularities in behavior would not be tolerated.

Kay looked to Rex as he gave his opinion. Even though he was a guard, she still valued his insight. Everyone had a different viewpoint and she liked the variety. It helped her prepare for different outcomes. She hired people that weren't 'yes men' for a reason. "Thank you, Rex. In some ways there'll be more work, but less as well. Veiere wishes to focus on the Force side of things, rather than politics, so I'll keep him out of this to comply with his wishes." But it wasn't as though they never discussed internal affairs when they were together. [member="Veiere Arenais"] was still there for her to give her much needed advice.

Her attention turned to Harvey and Elsa while they talked. Kay was glad to have the lady there. As much as Harvey was superior in many ways, he was lacking in a few others. The two of them made a great team, complimenting eachother's weaknesses. It was no wonder that they were close.

"Good. When this is finished, I'll be sure that you are all awarded with a bit of a break. Plenty of work will be ahead of us, so it's best to take what moments we can." She sipped her tea. "Such talk of a Senate may cause bad memories to surface. But let's hope that they can see it as a great opportunity. They'll be there for the beginning and will help to build the Charter that all will follow. Hopefully the past won't deter us, but will instead be something that we'll take lessons from and improve on."

He simply nodded as she regarded his opinion in high regards and then went on talking about her husband [member="Veiere Arenais"] and how he wished to stay out of the political scene which he completely understood. He knew the man from his time with Lady Kay and knew that he was more of a Jedi then he would ever be a King, but he loved Kay very much and was the reason why he held the title, not because of the politics, but because of the love they shared for one another, something that he wished everyone could have.

Listening to Harvey and Elsa bickered he smiled softly in his suit, they sounded like an old married couple, perhaps one day they would be, not that would be a site to see, but he knew that they were good for each other.

He raised a brow slightly as Kay told them that after this they could have a break and he interjected a little, "I speak for myself here but I don't have time for a break, I have to protect you and that's a full time job, no breaks allowed. Unless we're going to the beach I would rather stay by your side then take a break." He said this honestly to her, it was his job to be with her, at almost every moment, and he intended to stay there, and anyways he liked doing work it was better then sitting around doing nothing in his opinion.

"I'm afraid the others already took jobs elsewhere" the HR staffer told the Jawa.

"In the meantime, we need to get the fact checker's computer to a computer repair shop"

Klesta realized that, in the long run, given the sort of computing needs the magazine would require, it was better to have its own IT staffer, over having to outsource help desk kinds of things. He also realizes that the hiring process is pretty lengthy and something had to be done. However, he has a limited idea of the value of a fact checker at best. To him it seems to be the kind of thing whose value is preventive first and foremost, and hence hard to predict. Yet it was a departure from the pre-Yula Sith Inquisitor: whereas the SI from the pre-Yula days was concerned with sensationalism, today's SI is more clean in its journalistic methods, owing to its status as the newspaper of record in the Stygian Caldera, once perceived as a wild or barren market for media outlets. But for the time being this is going to be a band-aid kind of thing, so he returned to the fact-checker's office while there is a computing problem serious enough to require the attention of a technician:

"I have an assignment for you: go shop around for the local computer repair shops, will you?"

"All right"
