Dominion Hammer of the Ancients -- CIS Dominion of the Ord Vaug Hex

HoA.png

Ord Vaug, a collection of rainforests is a world of a storied past. During the age of the Galactic Empire, two children, Lili and Endro, known as the Venerated Ones, were held prisoner to ensure that metalsmiths of Vandelheim would cooperate with the demands of the Empire. These siblings were rescued by Rebel troops in the Battle of Ord Vaug and returned home to Vandelheim where they were welcomed back with much fanfare. While the history itself was straight forward, time has morphed it into something grand.

The citizens of Ord Vaug found themselves embracing the legend and myth of the Venerated ones, and in time adopted their own metalworking practices. Ore rich forests soon became the location of ritual mines. Temples were erected for the purpose of blessing the work of the craftsman’s hands. One such practice saw each piece brought for one final hammer strike from what became known as the Venerated Hammer. The piece was said to contain mystical properties which would strengthen the ore, making the final product unnaturally resilient.

Unrest has begun since the Venerated Hammer was discovered missing. Those who followed the religious aspects of the tradition blame those who refused to believe. Eyes have turned to those in power wondering if it was simply another way to try and control the populace. Some believe it to be the work of some ancient cult of the Empire Worshipers bent on disrupting the peace Ord Vaug has experienced since adopting this practice. With all the unrest, the planet’s leadership has reached out to the Confederacy of Independent Systems to arbitrate the dispute.

The mission is simple… recover the hammer and return it to the temple. The journey… not as simple. Will you search the palaces? Perhaps the villagers know something? Are you willing to brave the jungles surrounding the temple itself? Where will the hammer turn up? Will you find it in time before the citizens storm the palace? What will you encounter along the way?

WILL THE CONFEDERACY BE VICTORIOUS ONCE AGAIN?

OBJECTIVES:

Hammer.png

For this objective you are tasked with finding the Venerated Hammer which holds great ceremonial significance to the metalsmiths of Ord Vaug and those who adhere to the religious practices surrounding the work. No one knows the location, but clues will be given along the way which will lead you in the right direction. Will you locate the Venerated Hammer, or will the perils you are sure to encounter along the way get the better of you?

PLEASE NOTE: You may start in the Village or the Jungle for this objective.

Peace.png

The missing Hammer has led to unrest among the people, some of whom blame the political leadership of the planet for stealing the Venerated Hammer. Tensions are high, and open rebellion is feared. Your task here is simple, negotiate peace between the people and the leadership, and whatever you do, do not allow an outright rebellion.

PLEASE NOTE: You may start in the Palace for this Objective. It is also possible actions taken in the first objective will lead to consequences in this objective.

BYOO.png

As usual there are some of you who just want to do your own thing. Go for it. There are other things to explore on Ord Vaug including an old prison hidden deep in the jungles somewhere. Beasts are sure to get in your way, or make for fine prize hunting. Whatever story fancies your interest can be found here!

PLEASE NOTE: Actions taken here will not impact the overall story

Violet took stock of her surroundings as she waited for her fellow Confederates to arrive. Perhaps they were late, perhaps none were coming, but she'd give them a few minutes to arrive nonetheless. The people of Ord Vaug, however, showed in strength. The crowd present in the palace seemed to include members of all levels of the planet's society -- Violet saw a mother with two children in her arms.

It was really too bad that the CIS was coming to assimilate them under a viceroy. It was the least Violet could do, really, to at least offer some sort of buffer between the conquest-hungry viceroyalty and the people. She'd be better able to judge her challenge when her colleagues arrived, but her heart went out to the people of this planet.

She'd do all she could to prevent an armed rebellion, for the last thing she wished to see was these families dead at the hands of the Confederate war machine.

Oh dear. It is too hot. It is far too hot. GL3AM is not sure how long they can maintain peak performance in this temperature. Struck suddenly by the fear of melting, GL3AM swings their left arm suddenly in a counterclockwise circle. Relieved to find their parts still functioning, they swing it around again when-- THWACK! -- their arm slams into a tree behind them. Leaves fall gently to the carpeted floor as GL3AM spins quickly to apologize.

"I AM TERRIBLY SORRY SIR. HOW FOOLISH OF ME. SORRY, VERY SORRY." GL3AM backs away from the poor tree and carefully avoids any of its fallen leaves. Why were they here? GL3AM is certain they have a reason. Hmmmm. Hmmmmmmm. Oh yes! Something is missing. What is missing... a tool? A wrench! GL3AM is looking for a missing magical wrench. And... there are supposed to be others with them. They are fairly certain that they had been told there would be a team, otherwise they would really and truly be lost. But... where would they be? It is a large forest. And GL3AM is a small, small droid.

GL3AM begins to blink, flashing in purple. They sit down heavily on a nearby stump and decide to contemplate. Stroking the bottom of their chin, they vocalize: "HUM."

Riots, revolts, demonstrations, general unhappiness, it was always the same with these backwater planets governed by fools and failures. The details on what was going on were rather sketchy and the added issue regarding some sort of sacred artifact made things all just worse. Credius knew how the fanaticism of religious doctrine could tear apart an organization, even an entire planet's population if need be, after all had it not been this same kind of religious doctrine which acted as the very foundation for thousands of years of war between the Sith and the Jedi, for the insurmountable chaos which wracked the galaxy throughout the ages?
The man let out a sigh as he pulled his cufflinks straight and adjusted the monocle he was wearing. On eiattu, he had only brought a few guards, on Vondarc he had brought members of his personal guard AND a detachment of his finest droids, but now he was not in the mood of trying to keep the peace in a solemn, subtle way. If this planet devoted itself so much to a hammer, it meant their people were hardy, most likely stubborn to a fault, the kind of people that wouldn't submit or just take a step back if there had not been some show of force equal to their own pride and hardheaded predisposition.

With that in mind, after reading the reports on the Ord Vaug Crisis, the Viceroy decided to deploy a squad of his finest Valkan guards to join him in the first dropship, while having two full detachments of droids on another dropship. This time, he would not be playing nice, the populace would bend or they would break to his will and by extension that of the Confederady of Independent Systems. "Prepare for lift off gentlemen, we're going to land smack dab near the palace...these people might have an aggressive reaction to our arrival, but we need to make sure to contact those who asked us for aid first, so for now only my Valkan guard will reveal themselves and act as my escort while I have a chat with these government officials of theirs," The members of the guard gave a stern nod as a sign that they understood the approach their liege was attempting to take. With that being said, the two dropships exited the Viceroy's personal ship and started to descent onto the planet...

Nightmother Vytal Noctura had come to this world, and to this place, out of a desire to locate this supposed 'mystical' hammer. While they could not keep it if it were a genuine artifact, the Mandragora could at least be made aware of its existence; and, should the hammer pose any threat whatsoever, they could ensure people were sent to keep watch over it. What they could not claim, they could protect. Vytal would not leave magickal weapons lying about waiting for someone with fewer scruples about ownership to claim it.

The ship that would transport her to see this done would have brought others from the Mandragora as well. A search of this magnitude could not be down swiftly with only one person. Besides, something such as this might prove a worthwhile learning experience. They had a number of new Brothers and Sisters among them, and field work was often more stimulating than 'lectures.'

Though how people could drift off when discussing means of surviving encounters with the crueler spirits of the world was beyond a Nightsister's ability to comprehend. If they were on Dathomir a Clan Mother would never have tolerated such behavior. Nor did Vytal, but there were limits of Confederate society... Some of which Vytal threatened to use against students regardless. After all, if you were eaten by a dragon there would be no one to complain about it later.

"Make sure to check in regularly," Vytal announced to the other senior Witches that would be leading a handful of small groups. "If you learn anything that might lead us to it, inform me immediately."

With the other groups sent off, the Nightmother turned to those that would be accompanying her on their venture. "I expect everyone read the briefing on our mission here? We should begin by identifying where it was last seen, who had access to it, and why someone might have taken it. If we cannot find someone with any useful information, we'll proceed to the jungle and from there the temple -- where it should have last been located."

One last bit of information, "Remember, we are outsiders to this world. They have not joined the Confederacy and may not yet know our ways. Try not to use your powers unless absolutely necessary when in public places. We do not need a repeat of what occurred on Re'Katha." Perhaps not everyone had heard of that, but she had access to reports of goings on in the Confederacy; the conflagration that occurred there in the market had nearly been disastrous for public relations.

Search for the Hammer; Rendevous with Allies

Stepping through the foliage of the jungle's floor, Jas ran through the details of the mission in her mind. Finding some mystical hammer was not what she believed she'd be doing on a world like this. Though, after reports of the instability that was caused following the disappearance of such a thing, she knew what would come next.. and it wasn't pretty. Pulling the helmet from her head, it became tucked between her left arm and her torso as beads of sweat dotted her forehead. Her armor wasn't the best option for the climate, but without knowing what dangers may lay ahead she'd rather be ready. Unsure who exactly was in the area, her first task was to locate the others who had been deployed to the jungle. If they were sent in to the same area, it'd be better to work together, she thought.
Ahead, sounds of something hitting the wood of a tree caught her ear followed by a synthetic voice which appeared to be... apologizing? Interesting. Moving towards the source, Jas left her guard up yet didn't reach for her blaster. It was reported that a droid would be joining one of the teams on this mission but, little had reached her other than the name and type. Stepping up towards a tree near where the droid now sat, she saw it facing away from here, appearing to be in thought. Moving closer, she leaned back against a tree, still keeping her helmet tucked at her side. "GL3AM, I presume?" Speaking up, her eyes turned away from the droid to survey their surroundings, keeping an eye out for threats and to get a lay of the land. If they were to find this hammer.. it wouldn't do any good to get lost.

When she was back on her homeworld, taking the time to ride in a carriage to the city close to her home was a special occasion. One that would typically take a days travel at the very least. Sometimes, when her parents were still alive, they would stay in the city for a day or two. Now? Now that she was finally gone from that horrid place? She had seen at least three new planets in little under a week. Her eyes, her mind had truly and completely been opened. The galaxy was so much bigger and more vast than she could have every imagined, and this planet was just a new one to explore and learn from.

She had been doing a lot of that lately, learning. The nightmother had seemingly taken an interest in her teaching, for what reasons she might never understand. Regardless, the taller woman had been working with Shamira to unlock the powers she had been surprising for the longest time while in hiding. Not only that, but she had begun to study the intricate and interesting field of plants and fauna. Her mother had done a little botany study, though it really only extended into creating remedies for basic medical conditions. Vytal seemed to think that there was a bigger use to the field. The redhead wasn’t so sure she agreed, but it still interested her.

This was why, the moment that the group hopped off the smaller starship, she stooped down to the ground on one knee. One of her hands held open the side of her knapsack while the other grabbed one of smaller vials and popped open the cap. The young witch dug her fingers into the ground, pulling up a small bit of moss and the dirt underneath it, filling the vial to it’s peak with both. A new planet, possibly new composition than what ryloth was made of. Certainly something to study once they got back to the castle.

The nightmother’s words got her attention, standing straight while she stuffed the vial back into her knapsack. There’d be other samples to be gotten later. She had learned early on that when the tall, white skinned woman spoke, it was in your best interest to listen. The only thing she could think of while was that this planet didn’t seem like it wanted them much. They weren’t exactly invited, and were to hide their powers? She didn’t know what this “Ra’katha” was, but it didn’t sound like something that would be wanted to replicated on this planet. Would this hammer be worth something like making a planet, or a people, very mad at you? Shamira didn’t know. There was a lot she didn’t know in this big, vast galaxy.

Following alongside his new tribe, Scàth tried to hide his excitement at being back in his natural habitat. They were in search of a relic of a kind and as it may have otherworldly powers, it fell to the Mandragora to recover and inspect it. Although the other facets that made up the CIS would also vie to take control of it, he was unable see a positive outcome if any took control of it who did venerate and understand the inhabitants of the Dead Forest.

Or the beyond, passed the veil, whatever they are labelled as now.

It was hard to let go of the titles he had been raised with for the esoteric but he was beginning to use the accepted vernacular.

But, even if they were not searching for a hammer, he would have leapt at the chance to have walked the surface of this world. As a former jungle tribesmen himself, the Sayormi was the natural choice for one of the members of those to have searched and already he sensed the predatory gaze beyond.

Listening to the Nightmother, Scàth nodded and continued to pace carefully, slowly trailing a hand through some of the underbrush to inspect some of the loam beneath. Lifting some of the moist earth, he breathed in the heady scent, picking up trace scents of mould and decay, loose insects dropping to the ground. So often, the true power of an ecosystem was at the bottom, those who consumed what was left behind, fertile to begin anew.

There was a beautiful symbolism in that.

Grinning, he placed one of the beetles still attached into a squirming leather pouch at his hip. It was filled with damp earth and held a small colony of carnivorous larvae inside. Either they would consume the beetle and prepare themselves to cocoon or the beetle would consume them and potentially lay a clutch. Either would be a joy for him to witness and study. All about his person were various pouches and vials, just as likely to be filled with dried hers as it was to contain dessicated husks of a cursed beast.

Noticing another of his fellows examining some moss, he wandered and paced alongside her.

While he knew of the other Mandragoran, Scàth had never actually spoken with her nor formally introduced. Since arriving upon Ryloth, he had kept to himself largely, keeping the company of the various flora and fauna that were within the grounds. Except the Nightmother of course, but perhaps it was time he began to trust his new Tribe.

'Beannachtaí Shamira. What has caught your interest?"

BX-25233 has lately been relaxing on Geonosis doing absolutely nothing for the last few years and all was going well until someone finally realized the droid was being completely useless. The days of relaxing in homemade oil baths were over and if the Captain of the now disbanned Fireteam Deus Volt was to escape being dismantled he would have to find a hammer. Sounds simple enough until BX-25233 meet his partner.

BX-25233 had kept his distance from the other droid just incase a fight was to happen he wouldn't be the first one targeted infact he didn't think the other droid who was coated in purple paint knew he was following. BX-25233 watched as the droid bumped into a tree and apologized to said tree before deciding to sit down. Before BX-25233 could walk up to the droid he heard something moving towards the droid and unsheathed his poison coated blade but to his relief the person who appeared was an ally not foe, BX-25233 seathed his non posioned blade and walked towards the group.

"And the report said you were a commander. Whats wrong your battery already nearly out of power if not get off that stump and let us get moving"
BX-25233 somewhat shouted at GL3AM before turning to the organic and tipping his hat
"Greetings organic I am Captain BX-25233 of ummm something that probably has been disbanded since my last mission. I was only informed of the other droids name and none of the names of the organics joining us on this adventure."
BX-25233 said in a somewhat friendlier mood before he started walking off beconing the others to follow.

If it wasn't for the battle droids hydraulic noise, she wouldn't have had a chance to avoid getting kissed by its metallic arm when it came rushing and interupting her examination of the holomap in the hand-held projector. An unintentional black eye from one of their own would have just been nice! With a hair's breadth from it, colonel Foster had been able to duck the swing just in time.

Droids - some were better programmed than others, and she have had more then enough encounters with the more malfuctioning type. Like that destroyer droid at Haarun Kal. She had better memories from Tyra'Weilen, where a guardian droid had saved her life. They were programmed to do it yes, but it was still admirable and she were definately grateful for it.

After a quick frown of discontent, she continued studying the map while the droid sat down on a stump. Kathryn heard the commando droid draw his blade responding to a noise close to them. She placed a hand on the holstered blaster pistol but did not need to draw it as they all identified the female soldier as an ally. A silent sigh of relief left her and she shut down the holo-projector, resting an arm on the blaster carbine around her neck and glancing at the new face.

''Colonel Foster.'' she introduced herself with a notion to the head. ''Nice to see another sentient around... Where'd you came from?''

As the teams of Confederates gathered something sinister was at play. Deep in the heart of the jungle an old abandoned mining facility had found itself alive once again. Common citizens were taken from their homes, forced to work the mine, and yet no one knew who was taking them. A distant explosion could be heard, smoke is seen rising from the site.

It could be a clue, it could be a distraction. The only question is are you going to check it out?

Please roll 1d20. Even yes, odds no... surprises to come!

As the dignitaries gather, an explosion can be heard off in the distance. The source, an abandoned mine which has come up as part of the disputes. As the diplomatic envoy from the Confederacy arrives they are met by guards insisting they make their way into the assembly hall with much haste. These same guards look at the private guard brought by Credius Credius .

"Knights Obsidian or our guard only. You may enter, your private escort may not." (if you choose to disregard roll an additional 1d20)

Upon entry to the assembly hall much commotion is being made about the missing citizens, whose fault it is, and the most recent explosion. Blame is being cast that it is all connected to the missing hammer and that the politicians are simply trying to control the masses. The government officials are in your ear convincing them the people are simply using this as an excuse to riot and cause a coup d'etat.

Who will you believe, and which side will you take? Will you remain neutral?

Please roll 1d20.

Credius looked at the guards that spoke up against him, for several different reasons the Viceroy was both confused and highly annoyed by this demand. After all, the Knights Obsidian weren't some guards and quite frankly on a volatile planet like this one, expecting someone to come down without their own loyal guards was practically akin to throwing yourself within a lit powderkeg and expect nothing to happen.

"You misunderstand, you have no demands to make, my guards will accompany me to serve as my protection during these negations to solve YOUR problems or you can deal with it on your own and I'll request an immediate retreat from all Confederate Support to this conflict," The Viceroy didn't even try to use the force in this situation, he simply remained calm and used his natural size and cold demeanor to show this insignificant guard that he was precariously stepping over his bounds. "If necessary, I will agree to an open comm between my guards and yours. Let us not damn any hope for peace by forcing me to trust people that for now have yet to earn my trust."

As they spoke with the locals about recent events and to gain more information about what they sought, they learned of things not part of information provided prior to arrival. Vytal found talk of citizens being abducted to work in mines quite alarming. The government had risen an alarm regarding a missing potentially magickal Hammer while their people went missing? Ordinarily she might not care about how a society conducted itself, but there were limits to her accepting the oddities of offworlders. Abductions, regardless of culture, were rarely a good sign.

Shamira and Scàth, meanwhile, had begun to find common ground with one another. An uplifting turn that counterbalanced the strange news they'd uncovered. The Nightmother regarded the pair and their interest in soil and moss with a small smile. While it seemed unlikely they'd discover a miraculous form of moss the moment they were on the ground, any sample at all could have unexpected boons. The Mandragora held many flora and fauna in their possession from the worlds they visited. Some interacted with one another in unpredictable fashion.

A loud boom echoed faintly from one side of the village. Vytal's smile fell as her eyes turned in the direction of the explosion. "We will investigate what has happened," she declared. "Even if it is unrelated, these events bode ill for this region." Its timing was suspect however, and she wondered how it could be unrelated. Without further ado, the pale Witch began to stride through the village to investigate further.

The bearded man was certainly an interesting fellow. He seemed as interested in the same botanical studies she was beginning to dive into. In a much..different way than her, though. Perhaps it was that she had a more scientific mind. Credit to her mother for that one. There was just something ever so slightly..off about the man. Regardless, he seemed kind enough, and when he addressed her, she turned to answer his question while standing. “Nothing super interesting, I believe. Just some dirt. I anticipate studying it when we get back to Ryloth.”

She was about to continue the conversation, ask him if he had found anything himself, when the explosion had rocked the nearby area, drawing the attention off all the witches, along with all those in the area. Her brow furrowed, trying to decipher exactly where it had come from. It was near the old mine they had been informed of, for sure, but it was seemingly past it. This didn’t seem like something they necessarily needed to investigate, as the area around the mine was more interesting to her.

But the nightmother had spoken, telling them that they would be investigating it. Shamira chewed the inside of her lip for a moment, contemplating her options, before slowly making her way over to the taller woman. “Nightmother..” She paused, trying to formulate the sentence in her head before it pushed past her lips, in an attempt to put it the best way possible. “I believe I will take the long way to the mining site. The fauna around this area is quite interesting. I…I won’t take long. And I will be sure to meet you once we make it to the mining site. There are just samples I would appreciate collecting.”

The redhead could only hope that was enough to satisfy the nightmother. She had always been a proppant of Shamira and her studies since the younger witch had gotten to Ryloth. If she was allowed to go, when the rest of the group went to investigate the smoke pillowing from the explosion, she would take a different path, circling around the mining site. There surely were good samples on this planet she hadn’t seen before, and she didn’t want to miss a bit of it.

Looking at the dirt in her hand, Scàth smiled as he looked down to the same soil beneath him. It was a true surprise to the spiritualist, that there were so many avenues of knowledge to pursue and in so many forms. For the Sayormi, the earth around him was as bustling as the streets of a metropolis, the beating of wings above from the birds, the creak of the wood, the movements in his peripherals of insects fluttering, these were what took his interest.

But a mind of science? This is not a path I can walk.

He was about to ask how she mixed a spiritual path with scientific when the forest around them shook with anger, a large explosion in the distance splitting the peace. It took all of his self control not to bare his fangs at the noise but even still he was unable to stop himself hissing, a reflex from his time on his homeworld of Kashyyyk.

As the noise echoed, it became clear that whatever had caused it was not upon them right then and there, and as the Nightmother and many of the others went to investigate, Scàth prepared himself to go forth to protect this verdant worlds forests. but as he began to jog he heard Shamira’s choice to remain.

Looking back to the Nightmother, he clasped a fist to his chest in a brief salute.

“If it pleases you Nightmother, I would remain with Shamira. I would not see the tribe separated too thinly. And within the embrace of the forest, I am of much more help.”

He walked over to stand alongside Shamira, her purple cloak a stark difference to the brown leather he wore.

“Let us see what secrets we may find within the groves, Sister.”

Organics are so squishy. Part of GL3AM wants to reach out and boop the newcomer, but for some reason their programing advises against it. Odd. "Greetings, oh soft one. I am indeed Commander GL3AM! Delighted to make your acquaintance." Pulling their shoulders back, GL3AM stands tall next to her. "I do suppose there are others in our team who--"

ENEMY ENEMY ENEMY why is there a knife wielding droid approaching him? GL3AM flashes purple and stands defensively in front of the human. But no, the droid seems only to want to insult him. Okay. "My battery is perfectly fine, thank you very much. Your fashion programming, however, seems to be incredibly substandard. Or perhaps your circuits would be at risk of overheating without that stupid hat. Either way, Captain. I am thoroughly disappointed to make your acquaintance." They turn to the organic, realized they too forgot to ask after her name. And another organic... where did this one come from? GL3AM knows that humans have been known to mate frequently and under odd circumstances, but hadn't realized that it happened so often.

GL3AM spins an a full 360 in reaction to a loud, loud noise, before stopping to face in the direction it came from. "Fellows!! Did you all hear that?!" Looking closer in the direction it came from, GL3AM sees a rising cloud of smoke.

There was only one thing to do! "We must go investigate!"

Violet nodded to the guards, and proceeded at a brisk pace, leaving Credius behind. She didn't need an honour guard -- and besides, it was an offense and an abuse of privilege to use the Knights Obsidian in this way. Chaos greeted her. There was shouting and chaos -- the room seemed one lit match away from exploding into flame.

She'd try reasonably hard not to be that light.

Ignoring the petty bureaucrats and overbearing politicians, Violet strode straight into the crowd of people. Nothing would get done unless these people could stop arguing amongst themselves and give clear demands... and had someone to advocate for them.

Her voice rang out, artificially amplified by a mic in her suit, to the frantic crowd.

"People of Ord Vaug. You've been manipulated and used by your planet's politicians and ruling families. I and the CIS intend for this to stop -- and to stop now."

"I ask of you this: speak with me. Let us help you -- and let us free you. If four amongst you, supported by their peers, wish to speak with me, I will personally ensure that you and the populace as a whole is represented in any negotiations that happen. Let me make sure that your children and their children never experience such hardship again.

As the droid she had stumbled upon confirmed its identity, the sound of someone approaching caused her hand to snap to the grip of her sidearm. Prepared to draw and fire, if need be, Jas relaxed upon seeing that the two who approached were in fact allies. Releasing her hold on the weapon, her hand hung free at her side as the rather interestingly dressed droid addressed GL3AM and the other human introduced herself. Despite being aware of allies in the region, she wasn't entirely sure who would be rendevousing in the jungles of this world. "Jasmille Kavos, Dauntless Commando." She spoke up at last, introducing herself as was only right since the others had as well. "Was dropped about a klik-"
Her response had been cut short as she turned to look in the direction of the explosion, pulling her helmet back on, just in case. Activating her helm's comm to work properly, she nodded in response to GL3AM's suggestion of investigation. "I'd agree, whatever the cause, it could be worth a look. I'd suggest caution, we don't know what could be out here with us."

The explosion finally settled, and the ground stopped quaking. Debris from the trees in the jungle, or the surrounding buildings of the village littered the ground. Both groups left for the direction of the explosion. As they traveled from where they respectively had begun their two groups met up at a clearing in the jungle. It was upon their meeting a final quake shook the ground beneath them.

The ground opened up and Jasmille Kavos Jasmille Kavos , Scàth Mhaolàin Scàth Mhaolàin , Shamira Karuto Shamira Karuto , fell into the chasm which opened up. Fortunately there was earth below, a level path for them to walk which led to a fork in the way. Would they go right, or left?

The others determined to see their companions saved attempted a rescue, but before any real attempt could be made a rumble was heard coming from the trees. A large Rankor (who brought the Rancor?) which had been attracted by the quake and explosion rushed the remaining crew. It was time to face off with the beast. Would they succeed?

The guards which refused Credius backed down. It seemed they would allow his detail after all. A messaged pinged the datapad of the lead guard informing him to allow the delegation of the Confederacy make their way into the assembly hall in the palace. By the time Credius would arrive he would hear the bold speech and claims of his counterpart, claims which exposed her position of not being neutral. The government officials did not look happy at the speech. It was rushed, uninformed, and most of all exposed the very government which asked the Confederacy to aid them as evil.

The people clamored even more, but as the explosion shook the palace, everyone grew quiet once the quake ceased. All eyes looked to one another before accusations began once more. It was then the governor of the people chose to speak with Credius Credius .

"The young woman ( Violet Kianar Violet Kianar ) seems to not understand her role here. We want peace and yet she seems to be successfully causing a riot. We asked you here to help keep peace, not incite a rebellion. If you do not hold her leash, we will."

As the speech went on, the more the people rallied to the woman.

Would Credius be successful in calming her so the peace talks could begin? Would Violet continue and put their objective in jeopardy?

Setting off at a decent pace, Scàth was determined to learn more of forest of the world and the secrets that it would hold. All around him he could hear the creaks of the trunks and branches, the wind whispering throughout the leaves, the sound of small creatures within scratching. It was the forest awakening and becoming aware of their presences. It was both exhilarating and terrifying, and deep within he felt the dim awareness of this worlds wilderness beginning to shift and look upon them. It was akin to swimming within the ocean and having the shadow of a whale falling over you, something which dwarfed you so extremely that you were almost inconsequential to it’s existence becoming aware of you. It was enough to make the Sayormi short of breath.

“You will not be able to keep it hidden forever” he whispered under his breath to the world as he saw another group of searches in the glade before him, their own hunt seemingly as unfruitful as the group Scàth travelled with.

If the soul of the planet would not allow the Mandragora to peacefully find what they sought, he knew that they would resort to alternative means. The level of control and power that his tribe could spiritually manifest was truly magnificent and regardless of its size, the worldsoul would submit before them.

Almost in retaliation to his thoughts, the earth beneath his feet began to shake, hoping to toss the intruders from its surface? Protesting their search?

With a hiss of warning, Scàth dropped to one knee to steady himself, eyeing the trees around them warily in case any began to topple but the danger came from the opposite direction. With a lurch, Scàth felt the earth open up beneath him, almost as if the jaws of the world had opened to consume the Mandragora for daring to defy them.

Wakening to the feel of wet earth on his face, the Sayormi realised he was laying on the earth, quite different to the leaf covered ground of the forest previously. The familiar smells of moss, mold, fungus and damp filled his nostrils. Sitting up, he realised what had happened.

So you begin to reveal your secrets at last….

Standing, he glanced the walls of the chasm, mottled with the root systems above and various fungi before looking around to see if any others had joined him down here.
