Good Night and Good Luck (GA Dominion of Hosnian Hex)

Location: Hanging Gardens
Objective: The Beasts Below

___

The Hanging Gardens were sick. One didn't have to be Force Sensitive to feel the agony rolling off the staggered sandstone pyramid and its dying flora. The signs and symptoms were evident by the naked eye. A dark side influence was definitely at work here spreading its ill will outward into Republic City itself. That is why the New Jedi Order of the Galactic Alliance was called in. They were to seek out the source and take care of it before further consequences endangered any more of the civilian population of Hosian Prime.

Cambria followed behind the young Knight with her lightsaber in hand as they made their way inside the structure. The chilly oiliness of the dark side could be sensed as the Jedi methodically moved within the Hanging Garden.

Of course, it wasn't too long before a reason was found for the dying flora.... The blue-hued Twi'lek quickly grabbed her rebreather from its place upon her utility belt when Master Yvette called out to do so. A thought echoed from another that maybe the place should just be destroyed... She wasn't so sure that alone would do the trick.

Two steps taken around a corner and the Guardian's danger sense flared a half second before the air current shifted suddenly. Cambria ignited her lightsaber just as something came at her from the shadows. The cerulean blue blade cut through a Sithspawn as it lunged towards her, dropping the creature to the floor in a heap.

// You are right, Knight Voidstalker... There is nothing good down here. Watch yourself. // she remarked mentally through the Force.

No, it wouldn't make sense to construct it on a station, Saffron thought to herself. While Hosnian Prime would suit as a location for incoming and outcgoing traffic, it was better to do so planet side so that anyone would easily be able to utilize Aurum Saac's capabilities for exchanging monies, converting ores into credits, and processing any valuables that they may desire.

Looking back at the twin tower set up from an earlier property survey, Saffron made her decision. They would buy the larger property and instead focus on building the layout Aurum Saacs would require. However, they could in the mean time, purchase the twin towers as a primary facility while the construction of the main building would take place.

After all, Arceneau Trade had the funds to invest in Aurum Sacc's expansion. Their continued partnership ensured that there would be a long lasting relationship there.

A ping alerted her to a message on her datapad. Glancing down at it, she smiled as she read the message from Jaxson. Planetary government had agreed to allow Aurora to purchases premises on planet to cooperate with the flight academy. Excellent news indeed. Typing off a quick reply that Jaxson should start looking for suitable locations, she almost missed Fiolette approaching, and her near miss with the pillar. Wincing a little, she put her datapad away and gave the woman a radiant smile.

"Miss Yvarro, the pleasure is all mine," she replied. "Just arrived I take it?"

And immediately, the... aftermath of their previous came to mind, a mild flush to her cheeks that she quickly suppressed. It probably didn't help that Taeli had gone for a more modern dress than she usually went with, but she had loved how it looked in that shop on Coruscant.

"Indeed," Fiolette replied while ignoring the small pain in her arm. "Shall we walk the grounds? See what it is that this... Expo has to offer?"

She caught the small flush that Taeli wore just before it faded, the Galidraani was polite enough to look away. The Motel wasn't a lot to behold and neither was the diner but she supposed that the important part here was that they were able to hold an expo at all. Dansen was still off negotiating for Primo Victoria to step in once more just as they had on Thyferra. "You said in our previous meeting that you were not sure if you were to attend, what changed your mind?"

No doubt the booth that Primo Victoria had to offer would give little to those passing by, they were not the traditional fare for companies nor with how they presented themselves. Fiolette extended an arm out for Ms. Raaf.

"A rash of work-related injuries? That's most urgent then, so it's imperative that we know how many work stations are potentially affected"

"Better go with a blanket, company-wide assessment plan then, for all of 2,000 work stations"

That was to be a big ergonomic assessment job here, and that's all it took for him to process the first preorder of ergonomic assessments. There was another client lining up behind that client whose workplace was affected with a rash of work-related injuries, likely to be of the musculo-skeletal variety. As outlined here, the credit terms were 3/20, n/90 and on a bulk discount, with the billing date being the day the last assessment has been conducted, with progressive delivery of the reports by unit. The Jawa knew that, if there was enough preorders to warrant renting out some office space on Hosnian Prime, it was going to be a new dawn in his ergonomic assessment business. And the population of Hosnian Prime will probably be grateful for him and his ergonomic assessments. It was quick, perhaps too quick to be true. With the signed contract in hand, including the contact information of the locations being assessed, in two copies, he would probably be ready to move on to the next client, which was very impatient in getting ergonomic assessments preordered.

"We've got an unidentified craft closing on our rear." The call from the pilot of the airspeeder was calm, but with the kind of caution that came from someone on edge, likely from some degree of inexperience. Aryn moved through the small compartment within the speeder to the front, peering over the screen displaying the ship a fair distance behind them. It was a ship that Aryn recognised all-too-well. Before he could say anything, before he could even act, he saw the missile fire from the Spear II, the alarm within the speeder starting to blare as it noted the missile lock just a moment too late.

Aryn went to move, went to take the controls, but he was thrown back as the pilot reacted quicker. The airspeeder picked up speed significantly, ducked and shifted to try and shake off the missile but it was out in the open, without any cover, there was no possible way for the speeder to avoid the rocket as it coursed closer, faster than the mere airspeeder, the missile was one designed for taking out spacecraft, after all. When it hit, things went black for Aryn, but the spectacle was clear to anyone from miles around. The back of the police airspeeder disintegrated, obliterated momentarily in a bright explosion, scattering shrapnel to the ground far below as the remaining part of the speeder began to spin, entering a sharp spiral as it shifted downward, throwing the bodies of those within around along with the contents still within as it coursed closer and closer to the ground.

When it hit, the speeder crashed into a small park, slamming and grinding through dirt and grass, tearing down trees and grinding over stone pathways as it slowly came to a stop, scattering flaming rubble across the park, providing a dim light to the otherwise blackened park, further darkened by the crash taking out the only lights within the park itself. For a few long moments there was silence, stillness among the wreckage, before the door to the side, still barely intact was thrown free of the airspeeder, the blood-stained and sore figure of the Supreme Commander dragging himself from the wreck.

Aryn's hand fell to his belt, yet there was no lightsaber, his gaze shifted around, his mind trying to focus in search of the crystal which sat at its core, but with the concussion he had, he couldn't focus, pain rocked his every thought and movement, and it required a great deal of strength for the man to even remain standing as he stumbled from the crash, eyes turning upwards, knowing that the predator was still on its way. That the fight had only just begun.

"Of course," Taeli said, looping her arm around Fiolette's as they began walking through the various exhibits. Aurora hadn't provided a booth for this specific expo, they were much more focused on the ATC expo due to start in a few days. Much of what she was seeing was local to the Alliance, startups trying to catch the eye of someone like her or Fiolette. If they were looking to accomplish that, the Alliance Merchant Fleet should have sprung for a better venue.

"Ah, see a wonderful opportunity presented itself," Taeli explained after Fiolette asked her question. "The Hosnian Flight Academy reached out to us, asking if we might be interested in an outreach program with their students and instructors. Test some of our newer prototypes, get them some training ships, that sort of thing. Jaxson is planet side negotiating all the deals for premises and agreements, but while we were here, I decided to peruse the wares as it were. I must say, nothing as... impressive as my last meeting."

A sly smile graced her lips for a moment.

To be fair it was his brother who named the ship…

“You cat is listed as your?”, Brad did not finished because he was chuckling, he was not judging, he was just surprised.

As he began to incite the priming of the auxiliary compressor he looked over to Sasha, “So what is the lucky cat’s name?” He asked in a jesting way of saying, yes you’re going to die and your cat is going to inherit everything. Well it could have been taken in the wrong context of what he meant.

A sadistic chuckle resonated from beneath the Mandalorian Helmet, a grin cracking upon his lips that barely if ever changed from a scowl or a neutral expression. The humming of engines and thrusters continuing to take over the majority of the sound he heard, albeit muffled through the tough exterior of the Spear II. Electronic ambience filled the interior in coordination from the thumping rain from the outside. Beneath him was a flaming wreck, and horrifying sight. Knowing full well that the Supreme Commander was among his destruction, Fett couldn't help but feel some form of... excitement.

The Spear II rotated within the air, moving to land on it's thrusters as the grass beneath it disintegrated into nothingness. As it slowly descended, the objects underneath were crushed, and with a hiss the metallic movements, the loading ramp lowered down to reveal a Mandalorian seeking vengeance, intent of providing a reminder. The Carbine he so commonly kept on his person remained on his vessel, aware that his armour's arsenal was more than enough- though, it wasn't as if he was utilising a weapon other than his fist.

Rain bore down upon his armour, the sound of colliding becoming increasingly annoying for few; he didn't seem to mind, however. The fire ahead of him seemed to fizzle out for a brief moment as each rain pellet struck it. The helmet on his head activated several scanning pulses, ensuring that Teth had nowhere to hide.

"We were court-ordered to make ergonomic assessments so make it quick"

"OK, we would like more details about the scope of the court order"

Usually, court orders that ordered a party to have its premises undergo ergonomic assessments involve lawsuits, including but not limited to, class actions, due to work accident-induced injuries, which may or may not be due to a criminal level of negligence. Much like the Stone River Textile Mill on Chokan, but often such clients are doing incidental business and are not overly concerned about doing it again unless the management of such entities change at some point. Which was usually the case if the criminal standard is actually met. He read the court order the client flashed in front of him, realizing that they were also condemned to pay an awful lot of money to all employees, past and present, that worked in the incriminated portion of the facility during a certain timeframe. Poodoo: they were condemned to pay 2,307 employees and ex-employees a sum of nearly 74 million credits, of which about 450 are current, so there's no question about it: bulk discounts are the order of the day, he thought, while questioning the solvency of the client, and perhaps he would be paid in equity, like the Stone River Textile Mill was.

Aryn knew that it would only be a short amount of time before Koda hit the ground, before he would be out and tracking down the wounded Supreme Commander. Aryn could feel the warm, wet sensation of blood trailing down the side of his head, and from the piercing and shrill whine he could hear constantly, he figured he had at least a mild concussion from the crash. Yet, he'd had enough time to recover, to focus and allow the force to flow through him properly, to heal the wound at least slightly and regain at least some degree of his sense. Still, he knew he had only limited time, and in that moment, Fett was far better armed than he was.

When the Spear II moved to land, Aryn watched as some of the distant fires began to die down, the ones closer to the wreckage lingered, and as Fett closed the distance, they grew larger, wilder. Aryn focused the power of the force on them, stoking their heat and spreading them farther around the two, fighting back against the rain that pattered down and blocking the Mandalorians path back towards his ship as the heat grew intense, burning with an intense rage.

It was when Aryn saw the Mandalorian halt that he made his move, leaping from the wreckage, Aryn used the force to augment his speed, flying down towards the Mandalorian and landing just before him, closing the distance, he brought his first up in a sharp jab, recalling what he had learned from [member="Srina Talon"] in the art of the Echani, allowing his fist to fly clean towards the more-exposed neck of the bounty hunter, knowing that his fists and feet would have an otherwise limited effect against the heavy beskar plate the man wore.

If his plan worked, the man would at least need to abandon his helmet, or, Aryn would be able to force it off the Mandalorians head, otherwise, he was going to need a weapon.

Flames reflected off of the Mandalorian's relatively pristine (at least in comparison to the rest of his armour) T-Shaped Visor, drawing closer and closer with each passing moment. It was clear that Teth was running out of time, and Fett relished in the moment. The culmination of all these encounters, the stalemate's the two brought each other to; a test of technology versus a mystical power. It was never entirely decided as to what triumphed, but after Dorsis- the combination of several force users bearing down on the Bounty Hunter left him seemingly dead, only to emerge with an insatiable bloodlust.

The Bounty Hunter wasn't one to allow things to get personal, but after so long things just did. Koda couldn't particularly say whether or not he hated Aryn, but it was as if the 'force' had drawn the two together. Constantly forced, seemingly on their own volition, to combat each other across all the known stars- and perhaps one day beyond. Even now, Fett knew he wasn't planning on killing the Supreme Commander.

Aryn's fist was thrust towards his neck, and despite being aided by the force it just wasn't enough. The crash had taken it's toll, and Fett snatched upwards with his hand, grasping Teth's fist and squeezing with a crushgaunted hand, assuming the pain was to take the majority of Aryn's attention. The Mandalorian's other hand moved in the direction of Aryn's shoulder, pushing down - if successful - with the intention of forcing him into a lowered position, perhaps even off of his feet. All of which depending on his footing.

At first, there may have been some genuine interest in wanting to invest in the companies here, but as Fiolette and Taeli walked through the concourse. Her attention was drawn away from the exposition. She listened as Taeli answered her question, "well I can assure you there cannot be anything quite as impressive as your last meeting." There was a quick wink and a grin as she turned her gaze. "Though I hear the exposition hosted by the Southern Systems Bazaar is expected to be quite the showstopper." The two walked the concourse again, not that the venue was all that large.

Silence fell for a few moments before Fiolette recalled, "I sent over the first shipment of interceptors, not sure if you've received them already. But, I trust they'll be met with interest and please, tell me if there is any way to improve them." In reference to Aurora Industries getting the first crack at Primo Victorian technologies, the Laren-type Droid Interceptors were the first in shipments, as well as the Mogh-type Hypervelocity Cannons. "You look stunning, by the way, best to say that now." Fiolette let her own sly smile work its way onto her features.

Some people called for help when they needed it. Some people, with a brain, actually asked for assistance when they were in over their head. Some people wanted to keep their ears from ringing from the non-verbal boxing Srina would soon give them. [member="Aryn Teth"] was not one of those people. He was stubborn, hard-headed, and in general just a straight pain in the posterior. He was late. As always, she was present in GA space, by his leave. He had assured her that he would send the coordinates where to meet him but she hadn’t heard anything. The pale-woman sat in the command throne of the Ferocity with her back straight, as usual, her expression cleared of sentiment. It had no place here.

And yet…She felt something. She just wasn’t sure what it was. Concern?

She felt a jolt through their bond and the entirety of her body tensed. Normally, she was relaxed. Every movement she made was laced with intent without an ounce of wasted effort. This was different. She stood from her seat and her expression hardened. It grew dark, in such a way, that the crew member beside her stopped what they were doing to stare. She looked far more like her Master than the typical emotionally deadened Echani.

“Prepare the dropship. Pull an additional squad of Magnaguard from stasis.”

He was alive. She could feel that, at least, but she wasn’t certain what happened and for some reason, the Supreme Commander wasn’t answering. She felt a distant ache in her head but knew it did not belong to her. Her body hurt, just as vaguely, and silver eyes went flat. There was another familiar presence on the planet below. She was too far away to make the connection.

The slender woman activated the crimson and black armor that her Master had created for her as she waited for her commands to be met. It took but a moment, where she stood still, and her plain black clothing faded away and was replaced by something much more durable. Her lightsaber was attached to her hip and she picked up her Verpine Hand-Cannon on the way out. The telltale sound of mechanical feet following in line behind her only added to the almost sinister air she held.

The Dread Queen of the Confederacy was displeased.

A singular image from the Commander passed through her cranium and she hissed under her breath. Not this again. She was amazed that the Mandalorian hadn’t died when the building had fallen right on top of him on Dorsis. It had been tons of durasteel and permacrete just dead-dropping on his body. She hadn’t been certain until this very moment, but this creature, was most definitely a cockroach.

“Inform [member="Darth Metus"] that I will be engaging the karking fool we intended to dispatch on Dorsis. His presence is required. He owes me a heart.”, she spoke coldly, heading into the dropship, before cutting her comms. She wanted to keep the line clear. Something shiny and black caught her eye that momentarily caused her to pause. Nysana’s halberd. She picked up the weapon curiously.

Leave it to her sister to leave her gear unattended.

But, in this instance, she wouldn’t complain. ‘Payback, for invading my suit.’, she thought, with a fair amount of amusement, but also, because she was curious about what it could do. The halberd had nearly blown her to pieces with its final attack. A partial smirk flickered over pale features for a brief moment as the doors slid shut. So, Koda Fett could survive a building?

They would see if he could survive this.

The trip to the surface was faster than she would have anticipated. Once they got close enough, she led the way with a line of specialized Magnaguard. Her feet hit the ground with a slight thud, but, not nearly as loud as the droids that accompanied her. All ten stood at attention, adjusting their pikes, as red eyes glowed within metallic sockets. Srina turned to look at her requisitioned Magnaguard and sighed when she realized, that most of them would likely get scrapped. She’d lost the last set in the recent crash on Melida/Daan. Honestly, it amused her at this point, that people kept giving her more.

Silver eyes followed the smoke that she could only assume was from Aryn’s crashed ship. She followed that and the Force Bond that always brought her back to him. He was near. Where she would find the Supreme Commander she would find Koda Fett. It was just that simple.

“Your target is Koda Fett. He will be marked when I have line of sight. Exterminate him with extreme prejudice. Do not let him get away.”

"Do you think you can accept equity for payment?"

Probably borne out of retained earnings, he thought, while realizing that often paying in equity is an expedient capable of keeping the doors open when things go awry in a business, and also the potential high cost of the items required to effect the repairs. But it's still able to stay in business, somehow, and the Jawa is a little wary of taking noncash items for payment when the client has been condemned to pay a large sum of money in a class action to a wide swath of employees and ex-employees in an ammunition factory. Yet he had no chocie but to accept that more conventional methods of payment would be more risky, especially when he realizes that the ergonomic assessment is a key component of a potential turnaround. It seemed that the scope of the court order was more concerned about the area where the actual production takes place, and also the handling of the ammunition. But the administrative areas of the factory are not covered in the court order, so for the time being Klesta should use the downturn in the ammo's production to get the assessments done.

With the decision made, now it was a matter of sending the request to buy. Saffron made a few quick taps of her datapad, sending her instructions. It might take a few days for the deal to go through, but she could at the very least send word to Vanir Technologies and Browncoat Arms for their construction operations to assist with the build.

Complete with her task, the blonde drew up her gaze, letting the soft music and the murmur of the crowd. It was always nice to observe people in these sessions. To see the ties and the interactions. Coming to a large viewport, Saffron found a small bench and sat down.

Much as she had in her youth, the young woman simply began to relax and enjoyed watching the chattering crowd talk among themselves.

Trextan had his feet planted as he turned back and forth. He sensed Cambria's words. It was still something he hadn't got used to. Telepathic communication was strange. His mind turned the intent into words but it could be more than that. Emotion, intent, imagery all wrapped up and conveyed. Not that he had much skill in the area, he was more adept at projecting himself short distances.

Unfortunately the rebreathers covered his mouth and nose and muffled his voice. The soldiers around them had comm mics built into theirs which, in hindsight, would have been a better idea.

I can't see them he replied.

The special forces men and women were throwing chemical lights out wide to surround themselves with a field of visibility to defend. Trextan tried to reach out with all his senses but the darkness obscured his view with eyes and the Force.

High above him the hanging plant stirred. The shadow had appeared just another display hung from high above. But out of everyone's view something monstrous in form unfurled. It dropped silently.

Trextan's eyes went wind. He deactivated his saber and rolled a fraction of a second before the creature landed. Claws just missed him as the head snarled and snapped and vestigial wing were spread.

"Oh yes, Danger knows how to throw an event," Taeli replied, giving Fio a smile as they walked. "And they had just arrived when Jaxson and I left for Hosnian."

Her engineers had actually been looking over the droid interceptors with interest, and not just because they looked like Imperial designs. There was something to be said about cost effectiveness when comparing droids and organic pilots. Taeli still preferred organic pilots, but droids could equally be useful. A slight blush rose in her cheeks as Fiolette gave her compliment.

"Thank you, I tried extra hard today," she said, giving Fio a sly smile for a moment. There was an unspoken part of her sentence that she was sure the businesswoman could figure out. "And you're looking especially radiant today yourself."

"Only extra hard?" Fiolette whispered in Taeli's ear with a grin and pulled away to get a look at a display that had just been set up. She heard the Jedi Master's compliment and smiled in kind, "thank you."

Danger Arceneau.

It was a name she knew of, and found it hard to find someone who didn't at least know the name Arceneau. A household name throughout the galaxy to be sure, "not that this particular venue isn't exciting but would you hazard a trip elsewhere in the system?" She inquired as they continued to walk through the same booths once more, there were at least four other planets to visit each she was sure would hold its own in form of land or other asset. Expanding and growing companies such as Aurora Industries and Primo Victorian stood to look at good real estate when they had the opportunity to do so. "Or perhaps a trip to Darropolis," and while it was not Republic City it was the site of a veteran's hospital.

"And we just do not have the cash reserves to pay for that, nor do we expect to be able to pay that much in cash - we are deep in debt because of that class action"

"That's nearly half a million credits for those assessments. How much of the outstanding stock does that represent?"

That was going to be an unpleasant kind of client to deal with: even if, usually, companies were able to turn around, albeit by selling a division or two, or by soliciting a takeover, it was going to be a problematic proposition. But did the client become a penny stock at this stage of its life cycle, after the lawsuit? Would the sale of ergonomic assessments result in a significant influence over it? Or just a non-controlling interest? Yes, they had a non-controlling interest over the Stone River Textile Mill on Chokan, but they had no desire whatsoever to get even a significant influence over the mill, no more than Klesta desired a significant influence over the ammunition plant. In effect, he could probably hold the stock for sale, as it had just about any stock from clients paying in equity, and the unrealized gains would show up on the Sith Inquisitor's statement of financial position as accumulated other comprehensive income since the company follows IFRS (Intergalactic Financial Reporting Standards) if they fail to sell said stock by the end of the financial year.
