For Your Information [Republic/Mandos]

With a grimace, the Bard examined the datapad that had been Force-shoved into his hands. "Chancellor, so far as I'm able to determine, this information fits my committee's research. I suspect Senator Pallopides' investigative task force will find the same when they investigate this company, which is incorporated on a Republic member world.

"Representative Mnemenos, this Ashelotte Saybin is your sole customer for the Astra-class? What can you tell us about Saybin?"

"With all due respect," Alachei said back in her natural, empty tone, "RRDI is 'incorporated' if you will, on numerous worlds the majority of which are not yet members. This places the larger whole of the company outside of our juristiction. If you're asking for cooperation, this was not a step forward to that goal. As for Mrs. Saybin," she piqued, "She is a private contractor and private buyer who has bought numerous vehicles for herself in the past. I am not inclined to deny a buyer based solely on who they are. If I had, I would not be in business for very long." She jested, though still monotone. "Being a personal client of the company in the past, it was obliged to sell her units by the dozens for her personal business. Aside from that, I have no further information on her, naturally as with any private buyer. Oh, and of course, Circe Savan is Mrs. Saybin's fiance if my information still holds true. People generally tend to be hostile when you kidnap their marital partner."
Alachei paused, her eyes fixed on their 'guests.'
"With all due respect to our guests, if they were attacked by forces utilizing this class of gunship, they should deeply consider the integrity of their defenses and intelligence. That is outside of the company's domain, as we are not responsible what our approved clientele does with their assets once they have been sold and shipped. When a being kills another with a blaster, you would not charge the manufacturer with murder. Tell me, representatives of the Mandolorian Empire. These reports say that the enemy leadership had surrendered and laid down their arms. Were any of the pilots of these gunships anything but Vong Soldiers? I also understand you released them without further investigation? I rest my case."
Home Run. Check Mate. You didn't insult a (wo)man in their own home.

"Representative Mnemenos, the Republic Security Committee has jurisdiction to investigate any corporate asset on any world of the Republic. More to the point, it has jurisdiction to require you and Ri'ess to release any information you have on Ashelotte Saybin.

"However, the most important element here is that we've now established the connection between the Astra-class and Circe Savan's rescue. It's now clear that this Ashelotte Saybin is in league with the Yuuzhan Vong as well as a former ruler of the Sith Empire. Naturally Senator Pallopides' investigation still has to confirm all of this, but we now have a name. And a name is everything.

"As the Finance Committee has concluded its report, I'll play no further role here."

Betna stood then and stepped forward to speak.

"I don't believe it was stated at any point that there were or were not Vong prisoners. I can also attest that the only accurate report of the incident is the one I currently hold that has been produced, in parts, to the Senate for ease of addressal. Therefore, I would like to ask Representative Mnemenos where she is gathering her reports from. Primarily because such information is not known outside of the Mandalorian Territories or those involved, implying that either the Republic has conducted espionage upon the Mandalorians or Representative Mnemenos has received first hand accounts of the raid itself, therefore implicating herself and her government in the incident on Myrkr."

Alachei sighed disdainfully.
"I got the reports from you and your people, same as everyone else in this room. You've still yet to tell me why you would know anything about these two lovely ships that have never left Republic space all along, let alone entered yours. I'm sure we're all eager to hear."
Just because Alachei was a 'representative' did not mean she was uninformed or left out. Who was conducting espionage on who? If they were trying to throw Alachei out of business or set her up, they were certainly doing a poor job, one that backfired harshly.

@[member="Alachei Mnemenos"]

"Considering the only report given was which ships were used, not the damage to the facility, casualties, or prisoners take or not taken, I would still ask to know where your reports have been gathered. As would the senate itself, I believe," Betna said before retaking his seat. He'd let Mia take over from here. He'd sit and calm down a bit first before speaking again.

Alachei didn't even know about the event until five minutes ago, so she really could not say. Perhaps the Republic had more information about it than they originally lead off, or perpaps the Mandolorians brought more than they cared to share; either way, it wasn't Alachei's responsibility to take care of. As for why the Mandolorians would know anything about her two personal escort ships... they seemed to avoid the question like the plague, so it would be hard for them to find someone at liberty to oblige to theirs.

@Senate

Mia sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. She hated politics and this right here was exactly why. "Miss Mnenenos, do yourself a favour and think carefully before you open your mouth again. I do not take kindly to insults. Your acess to the details of the raid on Myrkr raises concerns but you are not within my jurisdictoon nor are you a mandalorian citizen." Not that it normally made a difference but she was not here to start a war. "We came here today because your company has supplied to a mutual enemy of the Republic and the Mandalorians, the finer details mean nothing to me. Considering our past relations it seemed only fair that we raised this issue for the Republic to pursue its own investigations."

She looked at the Chancellor, eyes glittering with anger at the veiled insults that had come from this woman. "Should Circe Savan appear on your radar, or for that matter any of those involved in this attack," she gestured once more to Betna for him to supply the faces and names of those involved that were not Vong "I would appreciate a call."

Rest assured, those who pulled the trigger will pay dearly for the lives lost and the damage caused. This was a courtesy call and from it they had gained more names. The hunt was on, it was only a matter of time.

The pot had called the kettle black, and it was the last straw of their incompetence.
"You've come to my home, accused my ships and dare to slander my reputation? You will take the 'insults' with your head held high or you will go home with nothing more than whence you came."
Yes... Alachei had enough of that poodoo for a lifetime. The client in question, Ashelotte Saybin, was not an enemy of the Republic in reality, making that 'mutuality' claim moot and worthless to them, likewise Alachei was not a member of the Republic when the client became one at all. The Mandolorians were proven sloppy at best, and they were barking up a tree they were all the wiser to completely steer clear of. Alachei was not the Vong; she did not ever forget anything.
"Your naming my personal ships docked in Republic space 'raises concerns,' yet you and your kin refuse to answer. You will find your lack of cooperation will only be met in kind here. Especially when wielding intelligence you should not have ever had in the first place, lest you have been spying on Republic officials. If you want help, you'll need answers."
Alachei had every reason to be apprehensive and less than pleasant at the Mandolorian guests. They had brought intel on a ship they should not have known even existed and could not unless they were here in the Republic, not on Myrkr. It brought surpiscion that they were plotting against a Republic member. The entire facade was an insult to her, yet she did not make a scene of it. In fact, she handled herself and her position quite well, even though the Mandolorians had yet to show cooperation of any kind though they ask favor of the Republic and Alachei.

Sarge hated politics. He hated even less spoiled politicians with a perceived bone to pick. "I believe..." he begins from his birds eye vantage, knowing the purposefully designed acoustics of the Senate Chamber would carry his voice easily - and let everyone know exactly where he was.

They'd even know to look up, where they'd find a maroon robed Jedi in matching beskar'gam, black visor offering very little from beneath his hood. "...I believe..." he continues ", the good Senator meant to say she will be leaving the Chamber, as she is clearly in the throes of shock, and that she will not return until such a time as her mental faculties have returned to her."

The Knight was in no such position to demand her to do anything, that much he understood. What he was hoping to do was make sure of two things: First, that the Mandalorians knew she didn't speak for the Republic; Second, that Alachei knew she wasn't helping her cause.

This was not a court. That would come later. But right now she was digging her hole deeper by protesting so vehemently a simple accusation that a ship or two had gone missing from her space. In a galaxy as large as theirs, the odds of one winding up in the wrong hands were pretty high.

"She will, no doubt, furnish the information requested when she is in a better emotional state and relieve herself of the Senate's pleasure for the time being." That last sentence was spoken with unusually harsh vehemence. She would not insult her allies further; most politicians knew better than to slander in public. Apparently she hadn't learned that lesson yet.

Truth wasn't slander, and while she didn't bother to waste her breath on fools any further, she didn't leave for the knight. Common sense spoke that a person in Alachei's talents did not simply become emotionally compromised. Apparently everyone had completely missed the memo where conspiracy was a huge galactic crime. In that, she was protected. As for the ships... two very distinct ships of which only two exist and were entrusted to the personal guard, those of which simply did not have enough time out of her personal sight to leave the planet for prolonged periods of time let alone be one of the hardest things to steal in the galaxy and were located on Republic shipyard records consistent with her stays, arrivals and departures, did not simply go missing. Eight hundred meters of metal did not 'go missing.'
The Republic were supposed to be her allies, yet they had continuously thrown her under the bus and treated her like rubbish since day one. The Mandolorians slandered her, a member of that same Republic. Not Alachei. If it had been any of them, they would question the Mandolorians. But not for Alachei; she is just the doormat of the Republic.
Alachei pulled back the datapad from before, this time adding to it all docking and transit records of the two Glaives. As expected, all were spot-on consistent with her travels and lodging, and left too brief a window to leave the system. A case perhaps was had with the Astra-class gunships, but again it was proven out of her responsibility. No amount of digging was ever going to find otherwise, because there was nothing else to find that wasn't already downloaded on the datapad.
"I'm fine, thank you," Alachei said in her typical flat calm. "As stated before, this datapad contains all sales records of the Astra-Class gunship and any other products sold in bulk to Mrs. Saybin. As well, I have also just downloaded all docking records and logs from the only two Glaive electronic frigates in existence, both consistent with my personal records and whose on-board computers are also consistent with these findings. You fill find it quite impossible that they have played any hand in your accusations. The rest of the representatives of the Republic may speak for itself, but you will find that only I may truly help you to find what you seek. They did not develop this gunship, I did. They are not familiar with this tech. I hope our future encounters will be less accusatory."
The datapad again gently drifted off and onto the Chancellor's desk. Everything they'd ever be able to find was already there. While Alachei was dismayed that her own alliance would come to invade her privacy and that of her home, so long as none stepped foot illegally in the holy Exodus castle-monastery, she currently cared little what they did.

It took all of Mia's will power to remain calm, to bottle up her fury and release it when they were not under such watchful eyes. I will burn you, she thought eyes falling once more to this ignorant woman who was wailing about her reputation when lives had been lost.

"When investigating a murder scene where you have a gun but no killer you go to the manufacturer to find out who they have sold it to in order to get a list of suspects. It is an enquiry, not an accusation and it is something any manufacturer of weaponary in any form should expect. The only person slandering your reputation is yourself by reacting the way you are."

I will hold you in the fire myself to hear you scream for mercy and make you eat you insults. Such thoughts were dark and dangerous, but they offered an outlet. "I presented this chamber with images taken from our recordings from Myrkr, they identified the source and you have given me the main suspect and a motive to go with it. Oh, the vong will pay for this in their own right but they were a tool. No faction in their own right would risk so many men for the likes of Circe Savan, as such the conclusion can be drawn that there was a third party offering something in return for their participation. Mrs. Saybin clearly loves her wife, and it will cost her dearly. As you have such a wonderful relationship with her, so much so that she has allowed you the right to see where her ship has docked perhaps you can give her a message for us and let her know we are coming."

Alachei was about to announce a humble apology, as it was true - they did not come to accuse her of anything; her own comrades of the Republic did, when the woman's next comment caught her odd.
"I believe you may have mistaken something I've said," she said apologetically, "I know of her but the trail ends there. The only ships I speak of are the ones that belong to me just outside. I have no relationship with Mrs. Saybin aside from her former status as a client, which did not involve personal interaction, and no nothing about the model, numbers or whereabouts of any personal vessels she may own aside from a one frigate purchased under her name which remains to be unused from the yard. If there is anything to be known about the weapons she owns via RRDI, I'm sure the Chancellor will be more than happy to share a copy of the sales manifest with you."
Misinformation took a serious toll in this meeting, but Alachei was at the point where she was not even going to point it out anymore. She did her part, and gave everything she had. Investigations would turn up the same information present on the datapad, as she had personally checked it for perfect accuracy, so she had no further concerns aside from that of her own Republic constantly turning on her. She had wanted to apologize, as the woman was right; it wasn't the Mandolorians making accusations against her, but she could not do such a thing in front of the ones of her own establishment currently accusing her. She hopes their investigations would conclude briefly, so they could realize how wrong they were... even though she knew it wasn't going to change the way they treated her. Alachei was never going to be treated like a true member of the Republic; with that segregation, she had already come to terms.
The most Alachei could do was faintly project feelings of remorse for her backlashes to the woman, and hope she would empathize. She was not without honor and admission, after all. Still... how certain intel about her personal ships was gained, and why it was attempted to be used in such claims, left her uneasy about their new Mandolorian friends and their true intent.
"Chancellor, I humbly request that you repeal the pardon of Circe Savan on the grounds of conspiracy to war against an ally of the Galactic Republic. Find Circe, and you will find your criminal."

"So, who was the dolt who gave her the pardon in the first place? I find it hard to believe the Supreme Chancellor could be so daft as to pardon a war criminal with a long history of crimes."

Vaudin had his comlink set on record for the whole of the conversation and as usual he had @[member="Serenity"] on speed dial. His face was not his usual Calm relaxed self. He had seen the gunships and the fighters himself and he was certain there was a very large security risk in the room, but he also was sure that his people in cooperation with the other "special" investigators would rurn up a very great deal more. He hit send on his comlink to transmit the information to the head of the GIA as well as his Master. If anyone knew tech it was them.

Vaudin activated his Pod's comm and waited to be acknowledged before he spoke.

"The Internal Affairs department request that @[member="Alachei Mnemenos"] remain on Coruscant and protected until the Repulic investigators complete their investigations." He paused to scratch his chin before continuing. "Perhaps we can petition the Jedi council for a Jedi escourt to ensure her safety until then."

[2/20/2014 10:44:41 PM] Qaphziel (Aynea, Alachei, Saera, Ahri): I see. Just wanted to know. Always good to hear both sides.
[2/20/2014 10:45:04 PM] Qaphziel (Aynea, Alachei, Saera, Ahri): Anyways, the offer. I have decided that I'm not really in a position in my life right now to lead a major faction.
[2/20/2014 10:47:10 PM] Qaphziel (Aynea, Alachei, Saera, Ahri): I could join with the Protectorate but that just doesn't feel right. The Sith but... that's kinda dumb, no offense. There's always good old democracy.

I was wondering if the Republic would take the Mnenchei Dominion in. Four planets. Nothing too special about them. But I'd rather give them up to the Republic than, say, lose them to the Atrisians.
[2/20/2014 10:48:12 PM] Snowflame: the republic would be glad to have the dominion join democracy
[2/20/2014 10:49:16 PM | Edited 10:49:47 PM] Qaphziel (Aynea, Alachei, Saera, Ahri): Awesome, now here's the catch. Wouldn't be fun if there wasn't, eh?
[2/20/2014 10:49:30 PM] Qaphziel (Aynea, Alachei, Saera, Ahri): The MD for Circe's pardon.
[2/20/2014 10:56:03 PM | Edited 10:56:23 PM] Qaphziel (Aynea, Alachei, Saera, Ahri): Okay, I know that's a tall order, but I've been keeping a tight leash on Circe and I know we're gonna have to accept joining either way. xD Just thought I'd try for it....

"Chancellor, I humbly request that you repeal the pardon of Circe Savan on the grounds of conspiracy to war against an ally of the Galactic Republic. Find Circe, and you will find your criminal." Yusan's hands send a repeated sound through the air as he clapped, a wide and highly amused grin plastered on his face as he starred directly at the woman, a raised brow and eyes focused on hers. "While, i would very much love to see that Sith... weed, be burned or blown to little plant bits i think that there are far more important things than to go after some slime that hasn't caused harm to the Republic. There are much more viable threats to the Republic, like that of Vornskr and Vulcanus, since when did we all crawl to the floor and bow to every outside influence and their wish for a person to be no longer pardoned because of something that happened and was caused by a force that none of us truly even care about. And this upstart 'Horde', what danger do they present in rescuing miss Savan from a Mandalorian prison in which we had no reason to act on the behalf of. If she is an enemy of the Mandalorian Empire so be it, but last i checked pardons are not repealed out of the shear want to do so, else i am afraid we are no better than the Galactic Empire or the Sith in which we only use people so long as they are useful." He had no love for Circe Savan, and he was a nothing now in politics with the removal of the Vice Chancellor office, but that meant he could go back to doing what he did originally, fight for a true Republic, not one controlled by Jedi, Sith Imposters, or those completely unsuited for their place. He did smile to @[member="Bard of the Hyperlanes"] and @[member="Jack Harkness"] as he finished, he was back and he is here to stay, with a true position or a fossil one, he would be here till his end. And with that his eyes and smile returned to @[member="Alachei Mnemenos"] before he looked at @[member="Vaudin Miir"]. "I think asking for a Jedi Escort is highly unnecessary and a waste of resources, let Senator Mnemenos return to her home as she wishes and goes as she wishes. She knows she will be watched so there is no reason to harm her every day actions in such a manner with her knowing shes being watched and studied, her past scoured and if what ever it is you do investigate turns out to be true, then i think that then is the time for a bit of... escorting."

Alachei would feel no empathy from Mia, she was an unforgiving woman at the best of times, and this was not the best of times. Instead she fixed the woman with a cold stare and shook her head in disgust. Perhaps if she apologized publicly and humbled herself in front of her peers then perhaps Mia might have forgiven her...perhaps. She smiled at the Jedi's voice, looking up for the first time to see him, his bluntness appealed to Mia. Better going straight to the point rather than jumping through all these hoops.
"See, this is precisely why I hate the way the Republic do things," she muttered to her companions, loud enough only for them to hear.

Yusan Fenn's words rang in Mia's ears and she lost her patience, her calm exterior cracked and her anger seeped though. "Fascinating that you would break two out of three non aggression pacts with the Fringe, without valid reason yet, when an old ally requests you give up the location of one woman, one sith, that is not possible. Oh, how far you have fallen, Senators. Your priority's are in the wrong order, you jump to conclusions, pull accusations out of thin air. I had hopes that the stories were wrong, but I was mistaken." Eyes lifted to look up at Sarge, wondering if the stories about the Jedi were true as well, before she reached down to pull the datachip from the console and hand it to Betna.

"Pardon or no pardon. Circe Savan will pay for her crimes, as will all of those involved. This is no longer a request for information, we have what we need. This is a warning. Do not get in our way."

Yusan's smile only grew as he now turned his head to @[member="Mia Monroe"] and spoke towards her. "I only said that i do not think that revoking a Pardon is not always the best course of action, but helping you find this a Sith Weed such as Savan i would gladly help in doing, as im sure many here would agree. And as for fringe non aggression pacts i fail to see what they have to do though i have lost some time myself so could you please explain how a outside force, rescuing a Sith Prisoner, with the suspicion that a newly included planet and its senator's aid being a part when it could have been simply the act of one woman is breaking the pact. Or perhaps it is the part where outside powers demand of the Republic and its people in how it should act? I, as i said before, would gladly love to blow that woman's head off the first chance i could get as im sure everyone here would. If you want help finding her i would personally put it forth that such actions are taken to find the woman but i do not think that it is the Republic's job to look after the former prisoner of your Mand'alor."
