• Description: Commanded by Captain Charles, First Scouting Squadron represents an all-male brotherhood spread over 34 ships. They are identifiable by the First Scouting Squadron insignia worn on their left shoulder, the most prized possession on their uniform. Charles has instilled in every level of command the mindset of Thrawn: precise, methodical, never wasteful, action oriented. They communicate faster than any official system because they have been operating together long enough to not need words for most of it. One notable member is Hannah Charles, the only female of First Scouting Squadron and Captain Charles’s wife. Identifiable by a black shield patch with a white skull.

• Combat Function: Serving as the premier Naval Vanguard of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant the First Scouting Squadron is capable of conducting a variety of military and force projection operations throughout the galaxy. Missions include: Scouting, Recon in Force, Commerce Raiding, Screening Actions, Mainline Fleet Action, Peace Keeping Ops, and Show of Force Ops. Its most important role is defending Castillon.

STRENGTHS:

• “Elite” - the personnel that would later become a part of First Scouting Squadron were handpicked from graduating classes by Charles’s veterans. Who put them through additional training, and continue to mentor them. Each preceding class mentors the class under them allowing them to become intimately familiar with each other.
• “Extremely Loyal” - the tight knit brotherhood of First Scouting Squadron is unbreakable. Its members have trained together, hung out together, and look out for each other (both on and outside of the job).

WEAKNESSES:

• “One of a Kind” - every ship, every crew member is one of a kind. A loss of either is very difficult to replace.
• “Hannah Charles” - the presence of Captain Charles’s wife onboard the flagship (the Stryker II) creates a potential vulnerability. Every member of First Scouting Squadron knows she is Charles’s wife and would drop anything to protect her if necessary.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
A relatively new unit, not much is known about First Scouting Squadron. Even its composition is unfamiliar to those who are outside of the right circles. Some operations are well known such as Charles’s victory over three Prosperity Class Cruisers in his original ship, that Arquitens Class Command Cruiser, the MIN Stryker or its defense role in protecting Castillon. But besides that not much else is known as many of its operations are classified.
