"Consider the implementation and practice of this contingency to be of the upmost importance to the critical success in any attack. Dispatch it to all labour commands and work details. Should Prefsbelt IV burn, the scum burn with us."
Grand Admiral Carlyle Rausgeber
Warlord of Prefsbelt Command
Personal remarks upon authorising 'FALL UNTÖTER' implementation.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create some neat background dressing to Prefsbelt Command, and really cement it as the evillest bastard of the New Imperial Order’s warlords.

  • Role: Fall Untöter is an operation planned in case of any attack upon Prefsbelt IV or Prefsbelt Command. The purpose of Fall Untöter is to, in the event of an attack, mobilise a tertiary force that can act as logistical and material support for more capable Stossjaeger, New Imperial or Prefsbelt Auxiliary forces. This being to either aid logistics or to attack as a mass in a way that would crush the enemy or delay an assault.

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Fall Untöter Combat Conscripts
  • Colloquial Identification: “Suits” or “Walkers”
  • Affiliation: Prefsbelt Command [The New Imperial Order]
  • Classification:
    • Support Engineers: The Suits fill a myriad of defensive roles, be it manning artillery, anti-air among other defensive batteries. They also fulfill a role of providing defences for personnel. Digging trenches, putting together barricades or assisting in the support of logistics lines.
    • Infantry: Fall Untöter combatants lack a cognitive capacity for vehicle operation. So working as infantry is their sole purpose. But due to their centralised command regime, they work best as a massed force of infantry. Swarming enemy forces as a hivemind, attacking viciously with no fear and no qualms of pain or death.
  • Description: Fall Untöter combat conscripts are uniformly attired in the Naraka worksuits. They don’t emote, as the suits provide no capacity for that. Instead they stand silently at attention, looking and staring at the enemy, before raising a rifle and eliminating them. They move with remarkable unison, with no need for communication.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Large
  • Unit Availability: Rare

  • Combat Function: The combat function of Fall Untöter is to act as support for more capable infantry units. Be it manning defences while more capable units engage the enemy. Alternatively, they can act as a massed wave to attack to cover a retreat, or to assist in a counter attack. With no capacity for fear or pain, they march forth in a steady direction, where death may await.

Strengths:
  • Massed Uniformity: Fall Untöter are uniform in their discipline and use of weaponry. They do not need special tactics, or circumstance to work for them. They act in coordination to swarm like an insectoid hive. One mind. One uniform. One army. One force.
  • Dead Men Feel Nothing: Given Fall Untöter exclusively employs corpses. Weather, pain, suffering, exhaustion, they do not feel it. And they will continue to march under withering fire until they are physically incapable of doing so.
  • Undying Loyalty: They will fight to the last man. Give no quarter, and no surrender. The Fall Untöter Conscripts will perish before they yield to the enemy.
Weaknesses:
  • One Mind: The Naraka worksuits employ a droid control computer, centralising their thoughts and combat commands, and streamlining them. But also making them vulnerable to the sabotage of said computers. Should such a computer be disabled, the Naraka suits will shut down.
  • Slow Mobilization: The Fall Untöter conscripts are entirely drawn from the millions of prison slaves who work in the bowels of Prefsbelt IV mining gulags or manufacturing weapons in its massive foundries. For Fall Untöter to be executed, it requires the liquidation of these workers. A task awfully difficult in consideration, provided its extensibility in scope and its activation is under the proviso of an imminent attack.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The continued belligerence of the Third Imperial Civil War was something beyond the calculations of Prefsbelt Command. They arrogantly believed that the conflict would be brought to a swift end with the campaigns of Dantooine, Helgard and later Serreno. That and the pressure put up by the Galactic Alliance. The demise of the Elder Compact, and then the splintereing of various Sith groups, be they Eternal, Warlords or of the Maw. But they were wrong, and as New Imperial leadership deferred from further offensives, Prefsbelt Command began to feel the sting of fear. The leering threat of Zambrano-Confederate, other sects of the Sith, Jedi or even Alliance incursions to their new home. This new tactical thinking came in conjunction with the increasing tensions within the New Imperial political structure and saw the need to develop a strategy of urgent defence.

While Prefsbelt IV was becoming a veritable fortress world rife with large anti-capital ship emplacements, deep bunkers and fortifications, along with a rugged terrain which automatically favoured a protracted defence, things were nonetheless precarious. With Grand Admiral Carlyle Rausgeber’s promotion to Admiral Regent, and head of the navy, much of Prefsbelt Command’s forces were now dispatched across the frontier. Expanding Prefsbelt’s influence within both the navy, realm of the New Imperial Order and beyond. A task which simultaneously strengthened its grip within military circles while also leaving it physically vulnerable. While a considerable garrison was to be left on the hyper militarised planet, wargamed exercises estimated there would be considerable lapses in manpower in any sort of incursion from enemies beyond the New Imperial borders, and within. With there needing to be time given for mobilisation, as well as casualties from an assault.

To make up for such potential Fall Untöter was formulated and authorised. While not to be implemented unless necessary, Fall Untöter is an operation to be undertaken should Prefsbelt IV and it’s adjacent industrial zones be attacked by forces either beyond New Imperial borders or within. It’s objective? Provide defensive units with a capable reserve of infantry to support defensive or counter offensive engagements. And the source of those units? The very captives of foreign empires, who now laboured within the expansive Prefsbelt gulag system.

Should Prefsbelt IV detect an incoming fleet authorization will be passed onto the wardens and overseers of the planets sophisticated network of labour camps and mines to liquidate the tens of millions of prisoners currently working on the planet, and to harvest their corpses as a new wave of soldiers. The Combat Conscripts. These prisoners include POW’s from the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Eternal Empire and Sith Empire. But foreigners are not exclusive targets. Their number is supplemented with internal dissenters, petty criminals, pirates, smugglers and political opponents of Prefsbelt Command. All to be liquidated.

But that provides the first hurdle. How to kill a large number of people with perhaps three to four hours notice at best? The way this problem was configured was through testing massacres on a smaller scale, using isolated prison blocks, typically those found to be rebellions or having not met production quotas. These unfortunates were then visited upon various modes of death to test which was the fastest. The methods tested included, but were not exclusive to drownings, shootings, inducing mass hysteria, exposure to radioactive materials, disease and finally Project RUUSAN microbes. While the latter was remarkably effective, the quickest model however was heavy exposure to a mix of industrial carcinogens and biological agents proved best, along with a cunning ruse. Although it was a model would only secure about a 72% death rate, it was a mode of death which insured that those who did not immediately perish, were incapacitated if still breathing but was conversely not extensively expensive in regards to material.

In order to execute the prisoners without raising suspicion, a ruse was concocted. It was thought that prisoners would be marched to their deaths under the guise of assisting in an industrial disaster, and the promise of urgent concessions should they acquiesce to the order. There they could be rapidly roused from their cells to the chamber where they would be fitted with Naraka suits. Industrial carcinogens would be deposited through the ventilation en route, weakening the immune system with prisoners then sprayed with a ‘decontamination’ agent, in reality toxic Felucian fungal spores, which would then act quickly in the compromised immune system. Once prisoners reached their final stop, on average it took 120 seconds for death or incapacitation.

With the prisoners now dead or at least dying enough, technicians of the Prefsbelt Auxiliary Corps rush in and the corpses are fitted within the Naraka series worksuits. This is the longest part of the process with the time from cells to the Naraka fitting station about 180-360 seconds, depending on the distance from cell to first contact with the industrial carcinogens. 250 seconds for the liquidation process, which provides optimal deaths or physical deterioration to take hold. And finally 1020 seconds being allocated for corpses to be hauled into Naraka suits, and then allowing the suit to fit itself to the physiology of the body. This is an extensive process which sees the suit strap themselves onto the body and its major limbs. But also hook themselves into the body in order to harvest the epidermis for proteins to feed muscles which are typically emaciated from malnutrition. But also to burrow into the brain and ingratiate themselves with the motor controls within.

With that satisfied, they then deployed for duty, with the chamber cleared and the next cell block brought in. Each chamber fits 50 of the Naraka suits, meaning it takes about 25-30 minutes to prepare a platoon. And then another 180 to dispense weapons and combat equipment to them. Not precisely ideal. And then on top of that, one needs a staff working diligently to ensure both liquidation, arming of soldiers while under the pressure of imminent incursion. So while not necessarily easy on either manpower or time, through rigorous testing, it has been shown to be the optimal amount of time provided for such an exercise.

Having sequestered millions of weapons in storage caches for this purpose Prefsbelt Command then provides the Naraka worksuits with surplus armament and they are now primed for combat. They will be commanded via a central computer to their station or posting. Doctrinally, they are supporting infantry. And can be used either to bolster defensive forces and close ranks, or if away from major engagement zones, to aid with the construction and manning of both permanent and ad hoc defensive emplacements. Be they anything from acting as a turbolaser gunnery crew, or creating barricades and trenches. Those dispatched to the front, in frontline combat are typically used to act as fodder. Using their durability and unwavering nature to march at the enemy and attack unrelentingly.

Although individually unimpressive, a platoon to a battalion engaging from either cover, or attacking in uniform formation quite something. Armed with Prefsbelt Command designed weaponry, they are a tool to either shore up defensive lines, or a cudgel to bludgeon the enemy senseless.
