- The DS-201 'Hoplite' is a versatile armour system typically manufactured from Titanium-Hexalloy (other materials can be used, e.g., due to scarcities) utilising GMC-compatible manufacturing patterns. Significant visual differences are possible. An average model is expected to be equipped with all the features and capabilities one would expect from equivalent armour, e.g., temporary life support, helmet sensors able to be linked to weaponry, comms, grappling hooks, and vitals monitors. Advanced additions include integrated Neurocrowns and Gravpacks.
- Durable: The Hoplite offers above-average protection from both energy and kinetic weaponry and can be environmentally sealed.
- Flexible: The Hoplite is lightweight and flexible in every sense of the word; it does little to limit motion and can be easily modified.
- Mundane: The Hoplite should not be expected to offer much protection against lightsabers, magic, heavy weaponry, or the like.
Ever since there had been weapons, there had been attempts to counter them - much like its lighter cousin, the Hoplite's sleek form favours speed and modularity over heavier plating, though it is more able to withstand small arms fire and harsh conditions. Much like the former, it is designed to disperse otherwise lethal energy if breached, leaving the wearer alive but incapacitated. Ideally, anyway - there is certainly a limit.
Nowhere is its modularity more apparent than when it comes to aesthetics. Hoplite armour comes in several mass-produced models and is typically altered in some way for larger clients; this can mean displaying national/cultural symbology, intimidating foes, or simply making everything sparkle.
