By the PMof the republic. That's enough to tie you all down with Gen.
Fact: Sith need little excuse to come down there and burn stuff you gave them much more than that.

This is not about the skirmish. I am totally rolling with that. Posted even.

This is about folk taking actions to direct what the GR "government" has done on a scale that is major politics.
I think its handled poorly and its not supported by gr staff.

There are stories being written you cannot control them and you have no right to ask people to just stop. Handle things with in the republic because that is where your jurisdiction is. People are reacting with their own stories and development.

Now on invasions it does have the effect that the mandalorians use this as an ic excuse to invade. So, again major faction actions shiuld in all fairness not just go through without major faction staff approval.
The invasion can and prob will happen anyway fir whatever reasons and is not the main reason for me to start this topic. but I figured its worth mentioning the importance of these things.
A faction can invade you for a reason as simple as "I want your land." No faction needs your staff's approval on the reasoning nor the invasion.

Fairness is irrelevant. Taking land isn't fair. Nor is invading.

It's one of the things that puts the "war" in Star Wars.

Everyone, please calm down. Time and time again it has been stated that the seizing of assets by Gen was not something done by the majority in the GR. Heck, it's hardly being enforced.

What happened was a fake military coup that was a front for Gen to take the same type of control as Palpatine did. The majority of the GR are rebelling against her and will take her down. Plain and simple. There is already a thread started with regards to stopping the clone army and nipping this all in the butt in a positive way.

Mantic is not the lone voice on this and I would have loved to have been consulted beforehand as I have been for every thread that I've been invited to.

Again I ask for everyone to take a breath and give people time to respond as it is the holidays. I'd kind of like to end the year here on a good note, and not in a flurry of arguments. Some are enjoying it :p But others find it frustrating and/or annoying. Can't we just play without trying to do eachother in or play the blame game? It's been a nice couple of days without it...

There are so many flaws here.

The ruler is the faction. It doesn't matter what people think or do. Just like in real life, a country could invade you for what your leader has done. As an example, Estonia (my home country), during WWII, lost its reputation in the eyes of western countries and fell to the Soviet Union because our head of state had a coup and demolished democracy. It didn't matter what people did -- if they rebelled or not. The ruler was what made other countries dislike us and made them not ally with us.

That's exactly the case here. If your head of state does something, it gets the attention. If it's something stupid, other factions start a fight against it. There's no point in saying "oh, but our people didn't support it."

If Geneviéve did something stupid, the Galactic Republic suffers.

Also, if a faction/country has local political troubles, it is actually one of the best times for enemies to invade them. The troubles and problems make people confused, the whole state is confused, and if an enemy army comes, stopping them is really difficult.

So before you say people of the faction don't support it and that the Prime Minister is not the Republic, think about what you're going to talk about.

Asking people to calm down is completely different from how the actual Galactic Republic admins have been treating people from day one of this. An event blew up on them, and got a negative IC reaction, and the results of this was:

Two of the higher ups in the plot begging people to ignore it happening, then switching to accusing people OOCly of bullying and trying to ruin their fun, then going on indefinite LoAs when people told them to handle it IC.

Multiple members of the republic being blindsided, confused, and upset, but always wanting to deal with it OOCly and never ICly. Blaming everyone except the republic, constantly making rude and inflammatory OOC remarks about how everyone is just doing this because they are out to get the Republic.

Some cool people who went, this is a fun plot, I want to play in this and affect the events course (kudos, to you guys, I wanna play with you)

And Mantic, who wants everyone to stick their fingers in their ears and ignore everything, while bullying people and trying to make them 'feel bad' for their IC actions, while pushing facts that he made to retcon where the plot was going.

I can say this because I am not involved in this event at all: it has left me soured on the galactic republic as a faction. I will almost certainly suggest the Alliance to my friends who join. This is entirely not because of the event, but because of the way I and others have been treated as bullies and idiots by members of the faction, OOCly.

So congratulations, in accusing everyone of everything being OOC hate and a plot against you, you've made someone OOCly not want to play with 'you' (the nebulous entity of the Republic). At the same time, some of you guys are great writers, and I've loved following every thread based on this event, and would love to thread with you guys some day.

There was a recent vote for new leaders which closed the moment this argument started. I didn't think that I was treating others so badly. I asked for time for us ooc to adjust to our new positions. I've never been an FA before, so trying to learn that is near impossible at the moment with all of this.

I'm including everyone in my statements, not everyone but the GR. We all make mistakes. No one needs them rammed down their throats though.

There are some great stories coming from this and we should all focus on those :)

Thank the force Spencer was nice, i was expecting the RPJ come down to this thread with harsher words.

Either way i have had super fun with the GR lately because of writers who just all out rock like Quee with the Obi One Kenobi blowing stuff up.

Next time, don't pick a Tyrant for your PM? That should help!

The story line that is coming is super interesting, [member="Danger Arceneau"] and the ATC is a variable making this truly epic. GR you made an epic story-line STICK TO IT.

That is all.

And you are right - it's the loyal members who suffer from all of this.
This is the sad part to me, because I'm sure a lot of people really do love the Republic, and love their faction for what it is. I can understand feeling blindsided, like this was something they were forced into, so I can understand them being upset. I commend those who, despite this, moved forward with IC plans - I forget most of their names off the top of my head, but there's some cool ones, who have both posted here and elsewhere. There are others who chose to just sit it out and not take any side - I also commend them, because while confused and lost, they did not lash out.

I hope that, moving forward, the Republic can work to make people feel more included.
