SPECIAL FEATURES

• Jump pack allows for quick bursts of mobility, or limited traversal of difficult terrain. Controllable via the Gryphon War Crown. Has a cooldown period of several seconds and can be disabled using EMP or ION technology.
• Halo can emit a dome-like deflector shield of up to 10 metres in diameter around the wearer. Relies on jump pack for power supply.
• Extremely durable protection against most types of damage.
• Fireproof and padded against extreme cold.
• Rebreather recycles carbon dioxide back into oxygen.
• Helmet includes a HUD for enhanced vision, information processing, and highlighting of targets, as well as built-in commlink and sophisticated sensors for incoming threats.

DESCRIPTION
By the time of his ascension to the throne, High King Thurion, taking into consideration the mounting threats arrayed against him, set out to make significant additions to the comparatively simplistic suit of armour once gifted by his older brother and worn in combat ever since. Whilst gorgeously decorated and offering tremendous protection, it proved inadequate as his newfound duty to the Wellspring of Life compelled him to venture out into the galaxy to face whatever horrors in need of quelling. These included Sith Lords and their minions, but also hostile wildlife and sometimes titanic monstrosities.

Although a fine craftsman in his own right, the upgrades he envisioned far exceeded his skills, and so he journeyed to the Under-Realm of the Duergar where he enlisted the help of Prince Beren Blackmane, an eccentric but brilliant artisan. Gifted with the ability to understand any piece of technology at a glance, the inventor and blacksmith joined forces with the King of the Above in reforging and improving upon the existing design, offering even sturdier defence whilst sacrificing none of the splendour of the original. The right pauldron retains its lion iconography, whilst the left now depicts an angel of death, shrouded in mystery and wielding a sword, symbolising the dichotomy of the wearer.

Additions were made in the form of the Wings of Glory; a winged jump pack utlising turbine technology to provide the user with improved mobility, be it whilst traversing difficult terrain or amidst battle. It also houses the power supply for the Halo of Dawn; forged in the shape of a rising sun, it acts as the emitter of a deflector shield capable of absorbing ranged energy attacks. Likewise, Thurion's helmet was reworked to include a flood of technological improvements, such as a HUD, a rebreather, and a commlink — all whilst retaining its magnificent pair of wings. The left vambrace was outfitted with magnetic lock technology, that he might wear his shield without the need for straps whilst freeing his off-hand.

Unquestionably the most advanced suit of armour created on Midvinter, the Lion dons his warplate on his knightly quests across the stars, summoned into battle by the Force to enact its justice, be it as a slayer of monsters or as a saviour. On wings of retribution does he descend upon his foes as an angel of vengeance; a Dark Angel, striking out against the oppressor, the shadow, and the corrupted in defence of the weak and the innocent.

A terrifying force of destruction juxtaposed by a burning desire to keep people safe; such is the way of the Lion King of Midvinter.
