SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Rapid Fire: This weapon supports an impressive rate of fire for its class.
  • Shielded: The Harpy has a light secondary shield surrounding the weapon in conjunction with any additional shields.
  • Targeting System: This weapon incorporates a sophisticated Predictive Targeting computer and rangefinder.
  • Ion Compatible: The Harpy has loaded both an Ion and Isotope 5a Charric batteries for quick swapping between firing modes.
  • Phrik B Plating: The weapon is plated in Phrik armour in order to protect itself from incoming attacks.
  • Highly Modular: Harpy weapon systems boast several modular connection points for attachments, expanded power cells, gas canisters laser sights etc.
  • EM Rails: The weapon turns on electromagnetic rails for incredibly rapid swiveling.
  • External Ports: This weapon has ports which allow it to be linked to the power sources of vehicles or turrets.
  • Ion Shielded: The CV-65 is shielded against direct Ion assault due to its integration of Ionite Laminate.
STRENGTHS:
  • Rain of Fire: The Harpy earns its reputation through the sheer voracity of its firepower, the Harpy uses super-cooled electromagnetic rails linking with the weapons coolant system in order to create an extremely fast rotating barrel. Each barrel charges bolts in wait simultaneously to be fired as they reach the trigger resulting in a 4500 rp/m rate of fire that some may easily mistake as a continuous stream.
  • Shredding: Individually, the Harpies' rounds hit only a little harder than an average weapon in its class. However, combined with their rate of fire this weapons' damage output, especially in its ion configuration against shields and mechanical systems is nothing short of horrifying. The Harpy is capable of dropping energy shields and systems of vehicles and ships at least a full class above itself with a dedicated flurry without much cause for issue. Additionally the charrics hybrid thermal / kinetic damage combined with its rate of fire can circumvent some specialized armours.
  • Reactive Shielding: The Harpy is capable of creating a six layer one way ballistic shield from the CROSS system installed into the weapon. The shield is capable of projecting itself in a bubble around the unit due to its access to a larger power supply, this adds some additional defense to critical weapons systems on ships which also have their own shields. These shields also tend to be substantially stronger and repair faster when the weapon is employed in a defensive battery connected to its own dedicated power-source.
  • Dual Power Supply: The CV-65 loads both an Ion and a Isotope 5a battery into its systems simultaneously, allowing for even more rapid switching between the power supplies with little more than the flip of a switch within the vehicle or system. The Ion blasts are non-lethal to organics should they receive medical attention and are highly effective against shields or droids while the microwave charged thermal maser rounds carry considerable Thermal and kinetic force.
  • Jacked: The harpy is an integrated mounted weapon that can be used as a mounted defense turret, a turret of an armoured vehicle, integrated into a star-fighter or freighter's weapon systems or as a side weapon on a larger vehicle. They can come in stand alone configurations or can be twin-linked for even greater offensive output, additionally a Phrik-B ballistic shield can be added at whim for some models.
  • Belt Loaded: When integrated in a stand alone turret the weapon is outfitted with automatic reloading systems to allow its power cells and gas chambers to be loaded constantly.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Wind Up: When the weapon is armed, it takes a couple of moments for its weapons systems to wind up, making them potentially difficult to engage in surprise dogfights and ambushes. Though they can be fired early, without giving the weapon its crucial few moments, the rounds it fires will be substantially weaker.
  • Atmospheric Diffusion: Sadly due to the restriction of the technology, the Maser setting of the weapon's range is average in comparison to the weapons' long range while within atmospheric conditions due to the energy dispersing with friction.
  • Ion Prone: While the internal weapon systems of the CV-65 are protected from taking damage via Ion Surge, ion blasts will disable the CROSS shield which protects it rapidly leaving it exposed to a direct attack..
  • Monstrous: This weapon is not something that could hope to be held by a humanoid creature, even preternaturally strong individuals would find lifting this weapon difficult supported with the strongest of powered armours. Actually attempting to pull the trigger on it, would be a sheer impossibility.
  • Ammo-Phage: The CV-65 has a rate of fire nothing short of monstrous, which means that its requirement to reload more often than it would like poses a credible issue to smaller craft and vehicles. Should Ships employing this weapon not have the ability to have an ammo stash like small combat freighter craft or be isolated from their re-supplies, they will find themselves out of ammunition for this weapon quickly even if they use their rounds scarcely.
DESCRIPTION:

The first of many weapons the quartermaster's guild fashioned when it became clear that they would need to defend the convoys of their ships as they made the trips from Iskalon to Ryloth. Several daring attacks on House Aquila Freighter craft before the interdiction of the CIS proved just how vulnerable these capitol class freighters could be in open space. Small time defense craft, fighters, bombers, military class freighters were the easiest to procure. However, the Rylothian enterprise found itself once again in the position that developing their own weapon systems would prove more cost-effective than to import them from far away systems on the regular basis that would be required.

Thankfully, they were able to create the first of the Custom Vehicle Series weapons without much of a hitch, acting as the founder for much of what would later be considered the C Series the larger scale CV series consists of weapons that were to be implemented as larger scale defense weapons for House Aquila and its assets. It's often twin linked CV-65's with an additional attachable ballistic shield which often find themselves defending the House Aquila Manor as well as the Quartermaster Guild's HQ.

Most often used for its ion configuration to disarm and deal with others in a non-lethal way, in either of its configurations the raw fire-power of this weapon as well as its rotation speed and top of the market targeting systems sees it as a perfect weapon for defense. Whether it be used as a mounted emplacement for a facility, a main weapon for lighter vehicles or a potent point defense weapon against missiles and interceptor craft for larger ones.

All in all the CV-65 is a prime weapon system capable of dishing out an incredible amount of damage to what it hits short of highly resilient armour plating on vehicles which resist its damage types specifically.

Hello! I'll be your judge today. This is a very nice and detailed sub again. This is a very powerful weapon, and I feel that strengths and weaknesses are not really in balance.
  • Would you do add another weakness? How it responds to EMP / Ion attacks, possible overheating, high power consumption, or something similar.
