She reminds me of your wife. Broken, helpless. Except she was far more stubborn than this one, it took time but she too broke, you should’ve heard how she screamed..if only you knew what I did to her…Veiere” The Sith Lord answered the presence of the light, Veiere's pace slowing to a gradual halt before the form of [member="Darth Prazutis"] and the fallen women that could only have been [member="Naedira Darcrath"]. He hadn't arrived in time to keep her from the tyrants malicious and brutal onslaught of attacks...-But Veiere could still sense life from within her, and perhaps that would be something he could offer her in this time of horror for her. He understood all too well just how Prazutis liked to toy with his foes, as if a child playing with their food before devouring them.

The Sith Lord knew Veiere's weakness, his inability to keep his emotions from coming into play where they two were concerned, for Prazutis loved to dance upon the repressed memories of his families torment, how he succeeded in turning his wife to the Darkside and attacking the Jedi in the one place that was sure to do the most damage, the heart. This time however, it was the younger woman whom distracted him from moving head first into an assault against the Sith, instead concerned for her well-being and wishing not to provoke any further harm to her.

"Why is it that every time we meet, you're picking on younger women..." Veiere replied to the Sith Lord's goading, with an suggestive edge and insult of his own choosing; "There truly is no weaker impression of a man" he added, his tone cold, eyes locked with that of the Sith's whilst his Lightsaber remained in the right hand, blade pointing low to the ground at his side. Slowly, Veiere walked closer to the pair, though certain to keep out of immediate striking range of the Sith Lord, he wished to get a better look of Naedira's condition. "How long must you gloat about my wife?" He asked rhetorically, not actually expecting a genuine answer and yet to finish, "Hiding behind their pain and defeat, the both of us knowing you do not have what it takes to best me here and now..." bold words for any Jedi, especially in the face of someone as powerful as Prazutis, though there was purpose in drawing upon his singular focus, in that no further damage would be done to Naedira; "Now that it is merely the two of us remaining, It's high time you answered for your crimes, and there will be no excuses or distractions this time, when you fall" Sith the likes of Prazutis paid little heed to the Jedi ideologies, yet open and challenging insults, shaming and demeaning the presence for which he got off upon intimidating others, that was something he would take seriously, something he would be less likely to shrug away.

Taking his weapon into a two handed grip, Veiere moved further away from where Naedira now lay, giving Prazutis a firm, challenging lift of his head as if to say 'come and try your luck'. The Jedi's attire would likely only give the Sith confidence, as he wore the traditional robes that he favored, with the only exception being the underlay which acted as a faraday cage in order to combat the likes of energy attacks, the very same that the younger women had suffered from. The confidence that Veiere was boasting, most Jedi that knew him would also find out of character, yet fear or caution in the face of such an opponent would do little to distract from the fallen, where as a true and eager, exciting challenge was something Veiere figured the Sith Lord would wish to pursue.

"INCOMING FIRE SIR!" The fire coming off the fleet was pointed straight at the Pitiless Spirit. The shields were lit up and the ships was rocking from damage. The Grand Admiral had to steady himself so that he would not be knocked off his feet. "Shields down to 10 percent Grand Admiral." The Grand Admiral nodded in understanding. "Drop the guns and put all power into Shields. Get our fighters ready, to respond to any threats that my follow this up". Just as the Shields were recharging a small device filled the space that was previously occupied by the ships attacking the Spirit.

The device exploded a wave of energy surged through his fleet and the star fighters fled further back away from the wave of energy. The Grand Admiral looked to his holo display and saw three Rekr class ships erupt into debris and a Gragatus class that was closer to the blast was also taken by the bomb. As the blast cleared he breathed a sigh of relief that that salvo was over he tapped a comm to call to the commanders of the Tridents and Legacy class. "Commanders hold position and use your front facing kyber cannons and return fire, do not relent until you have to swap all power to Shields. Do not give ground to them." At this moment the fleet firing upon him began to get closer. He tapped on his arm and called for the star fighters to stand ready once the bombers got in close. This battle would not end the same as Eshan. He saw status reports from the crusaders that their Shields were at 20 percent or less and he knew that the next few hours would mean freedom or chains for the people below.

The squadrons of Vipers that were waiting behind the wall of ships began to communicate among wing commanders and prepared to engage the incoming swarm. With a push of a button the Grand Admiral send updated information on the battle map to the pilots so they would be ready to intercept the incoming CIS Fighters. "Crusaders prepare to engage turtle mode! Call the commodore of Kaine Australis' fleet and tell him we require his Mandalore Class Battlecruisers."

Upon this command the Mandalore class ships moved into position they charged and fired their orbital auto cannons and Hypervelocity guns at different ships so we pepper their fleet weakening the various ships and trying to blast through their hull. The Mandalore classes were firing on the flank of Kiff's fleet.

The commander was sure at this point that she would have been dead several times over if nto for the armor that Allya had designed for her. Which is why, in the moment, she returned a quick hug to the shorter woman, knowing that it would comfort her, and, even if she kept it to herself in the moment, she was happy to see her adjunct safe and mostly uninjured. It was not the time for this, however, as they had more pressing matters to attend to. She released the woman from her hug, turning to watch the landing craft being unloaded.

At this moment in time, Luna wasn’t sure she was ever more excited to see the bulkiest and ugliest landing craft ever, especially as the engineers that they carried polled out, carrying or pushing hovercraft full of crates of what she assumed to be the anti-air defenses. Better late than never, the commander supposed, though she would have liked them for the recent strafing run. Hopefully now that wouldn’t be a problem. Her eyes turned in that moment to observe as the medical staff that had just arrived begin to tend to those still on the ground, feeling a deep sense of regret pooling at the bottom of her stomach, knowing that if the reinforcements had gotten here sooner that this might never have happened.

Still, they had objectives that needed to be completed, ones that they were reminded of by the Vicelord himself, whom Luna was extremely happy to see back up and going again. So as her adjunct began to fiddle around with the shield generator, aided by a couple of engineers, luna took the moment to hustle to the edge of where the shield would end up reaching, waving a hovercraft over quickly. “Cmon now! Double time! I wanted these set up yesterday you grunts!” That was enough to hustle the group along, who, once at the spot, began to unload the crates as quickly as possible. Luna, to her credit, pushed through the occasional throbbing of pain that would shoot through her head and helped them as best she could, watching as all the pieces for a downsized anti-aircraft gun were removed from the crates and begun to be put together. This is where Luna’s helpfulness ended, knowing that she would only get in the way of those that were trying to their jobs.

As she turned to hustle back into the center of the perspective FOB, she could see the other two anti-aircraft guns being constructed, creating a triangle of sorts. Good enough for now. She could also see the first two structures of the base had been erected, being nothing more than a pair of large, flimsy tents. Watching as medical supplies and injured commandos were hovered into one of the tents, tents, the larger and longer of the pair, and holocomputer and electronic equipment into the other, it was obvious enough what each of their functions were. It was also obvious enough where she could do the most good, being the command tent.

The first thought that came to her mind as she entered the tent was how disheveled everything looked. Engineers ran around, attempting to get the holocomputers, comms equipment, holotables, and other various items up and running. The only thing that looked like it was ready to go was a small holotable at the center of the tent, surrounded by four chairs. Luna made her way over to it, observing that it already had a live strategic diagram of the city up and running. Reaching up, she pulled her helmet off and placed it the corner of the table, as well as slinging her rifle off her shoulder and leaning it against the object.

Through her ear comm, she could hear her adjunct asking for orders. Knowing the schedule, and being able to hear the commotion from outside the tent, she knew that another company of dauntless troopers had just landed and were preparing to head toward the city. Everyone had their place in this invasion, and at this moment, her best spot was here, coordinating the whole operation and incursion into the city. Tapping the speak button on her comm, a signal was sent to each and every dauntless commando still alive and planetside, as well as her adjunct. “This is commander Terrik. If you are healthy and can still fire a blaster, load up and proceed toward the middle of the command. Squad leaders start getting the companies of troopers ready to go. Adjunct Vi’Dreya will be leading the attack on the city once the shield is up and running. Respect her command.”

The commander paused for a moment, searching for a way to the comm appropriately. When the thougth came to her, she couldn’t help the small smirk that peaked at her lips, speaking one final sentence into existence before cutting off the comms. “Make sure these bucketheads never forget the name of the Dauntless. For the vicelord.”

Objective: Heal some Folks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-23XCzB4CvQ

Gia went about directing the personnel, something Orn was not able to do for he did not have a concept of what it was they would be doing. They were healers of a sort, but nothing like the kind of healer he was. He used saps, herbs, and the Force; they used synthetic chemicals and sharp tools. However his young guardian on the planet took to it with natural grace and confidence, calming them with her words and inspiring them with her actions, hiding an anxiety within herself.

Doubt?

Perhaps sorrow or guilt?

She was strong, experienced, and tempered. Yet so young. A pity the ancients did not bear the burden of the Galaxy for the younger species so that they could live free of worry and strife, but such was not the Will of the Force. The sky darkened, a single massive vessel blotting out the light from the star as it cast its mighty shadow across Taanab.

Orn’s stomach churned with discomfort. Too much darkness in the hearts of both sides, too much pain and fear. It blinded so many in the galaxy. It felt to the venerable being as though it always had. Orn could merely stand resolute and unyielding to the battle around him. He did not flinch to the sounds or chaos in battle, seen more times than he could possibly recall. It was not his way.

We are beacons of hope in a galaxy of darkness. A shelter in the harshest storm and a light to guide the way in the blackest of nights for all.

Orn turned his head, bark cracking on his skin as he did so to look at the young Jedi girl, following her arm to view where she was pointing. He was usually slow and plodding, some said deliberate or sluggish, and he could not argue. “Hmmm,” the being mused quietly to himself, shrugging his body as if stretching and loosening joints. “It does seem to be on the way as it were. Let us make haste.

Orn took his first strides, long and willful. But with each step, he grew and grew, his form enlarging into a hulking humanoid almost the size and shape of a rancor with the appearance of a mighty oak. His thunderous bass rumbled from deep within the arboreal cavity of his torso. “Come little one,” the branch-like limb from his shoulder swooped low to take her up and lift her to his sit on his shoulder as he took his massive strides at a lumbering run across the landscape.

From Nature, from the Force,

Comes the Master of the Green.

And his sidekick.

As the fleets began to slide into atmosphere the Kad was hit by the firepower of the Valiant I-class, and Elijah was just happy that she was a Mon Calamari ship. One of the Nebulan-B2s was then rocked by the power of a pair of hypervelocity guns rattling into the hull. Dang it. So many ships it was easy to miss a few. The Admiral had to think. There were facing some heavy hitters here, so they'd have to hit back. Hard!

"Keep those shields rotating! I don't want them to go down too quickly! Call all ships to switch fire to that Star Destroyer, except the Enigmas. I have a plan for them." And with that, the Keros' Kad fired her turbolasers and fired off four Heavy Advance Proton Torpedoes at the Star Destroyer. The Nebulan-B2s followed suit, focusing everything they had on it, and the CR90s fired their own turbolasers at the large ship. As this barrage happened one of the Enigma's focused down the heavily damaged Deathstalker, unleashing it's Varactyl Heavy Turbolasers on it's CIS counterpart, while locking a pair of torpedoes on another on. The other two Enigmas had their own mission.

The final two engaged their boost engines to quickly close distance on the HeVeSFs, not keeping to a single line of pattern to avoid the main cannon fire. Once close enough, they switched back into normal flight mode and began to open up with their turbolasers and torpedoes, then began to veer off to avoid fire. As this happened, the fighters went into evasive maneuvers to avoid the point defense fire. Some where lost, but the group of strike craft soon turned for the Valiant I-class and unleash more of their payload on the massive ship.

[video]https://youtu.be/K1XkpvX-PJk[/video]

In the city, the flight commander just grunted at the response he received from [member="Voph"] . If he wanted things to be said with torpedoes, so be it. The Enigma and Viper squadron were ready to fight, but soon heard some massive impacts above. The Dreadnought began to move, and revealed to be multiple ships that had slammed into the massive thing. The man didn't take time to focus it. This would probably be his last flight, but sometimes size did matter. Smaller ships were faster. Harder to hit. Now was the time to engage, and hope that they could make it. The fighters and corvette then launched, the corvette engaging it boost mode, and flew as fast as they could to their target, being sure not to keep flying in a straight line. He had remembered stories of the Death Star. He just hoped today history would repeat itself.

Meanwhile, both Mig and the tank crew looked shocked as they saw the lighting get redirected. How... how did he do that with an ax? The Alor then saw him draw a lightsaber, knowing good and well what was coming. now. Mig held his own blade at the ready, not wanting to move first. At the distance, the first to move could very well be the one who lost. He just glared at the man soldier, eyes and senses trained on [member="Krest"] 's movement. Who would move first? The Gred then glared through his helmet. "Well, I guess we know who the beasts of this battle are then." There was a venom in his words. A clear distaste for the kind of war he felt that this was becoming.

Pathfinder [member="Kurenai Yumi"] had asked if the Mandalorians would send any wounded after them. Madalena chuckled a little bit at the thought, but ultimately, shook her head. It was one thing to see those who were too injured to get off planet as your meat shields – it was quite another to find a way to send them forth into battle. But that had been before they were getting shot at, and there had never been a time to verbally express the Knight Commander's views on the matter. It was a very good thing that she was not aware that the sick and injured had gone forth into the city to fight, for then not even the shots from the sky would have managed to quiet her down.

[member="Kurenai Yumi"] and [member="Eli-Mae Forrest"] did as instructed, leaving Madalena alone where she stood. She knew the presence of both women through the Force and had little doubt that she would be able to find them once this was over, and focused her attention on the ships above.

Only one. Madalena frowned as she saw it turn this way and that before it was finally shot down by a rocket and fell down to the ground. She'd hoped she would've been able to get both, but considering the rest of the ARC-170r's were flying away, she counted that single one that was no longer with them as a win, and turned to look around.

She had not been close enough to the medical frigate or the drop pods that had been hit, but the stream of reports into her ear was never ending. Still, despite whatever losses, she believed they were still small, still containable. The war was for from decreed, and while she had every reason that today would end with the removal of the Mandalorian stink from the planet, she also knew that even the smallest of events could change that.

Events like a friggin' SSD covering them all.

Madalena looked up to see [member="Voph"]'s ship, the events of Eshan rushing through her mind as well. In the fraction of a second that it took her to realize this ship was on their side and not here to fall on their heads and cause tsunamis and splatters, she'd already hatched an entire plan to board it and kill whoever was in charge. A small smile broke on her face when she realized, that there was no need for that.

Turning to collect [member="Kurenai Yumi"] and [member="Eli-Mae Forrest"], Madalena paused. She could feel it. She could feel him. Turning to look at the city, the glowing eyes of the Endelaan Princess narrowed, and a long string of vulgar expressions in various languages exited her mouth. [member="Cardinal Vi'dreya"]. Her man. Her other half. One of the reasons she still lived and breathed, in this body and in this dimension. He was here again.

This was not the first time he had done this. The two had been on Eshan together as well, beginning the battle there in the same team. But after the tsunami, they had been split apart and Cardinal had gone to face the Mandalorians alone and in a weakened state. It had almost killed him. There were no words that could properly articulate how heavy and worried her heart became at that moment. And how much she longed to deflect right there and then to put chase to him. Due to the events that had involved her creation and her sister, he was no longer the Dominus of the Knights Obsidian. But he had not told her he had signed up for any other division. What was he even doing here?! Had he the sense to at least bring some Sandali Warriors with him?

"What are you doing?!" she almost screamed at him into the comm. This was war. This was not a playing field. If he was running to the city and going to injure himself again… And yet she could not abandon her post, her people. Not unless they were both willing to face exile from the Confederacy, or worse. "Cardinal!" Madalena screamed now. This… This would beworse for Eshan if he did what she was so terrified he would do. "Ikiwa utafa, nitakuua yako!" she screamed in his own native language, the very one he had been teaching her for months.

Kicking the ground, she turned around. She had [member="Kurenai Yumi"] and [member="Eli-Mae Forrest"] to find. The latter, she would find first – after all, the girl was completely green, and she didn't know her abilities or luck in depth. The Pathfinder, she could trust her to find them – she had the proven experience in it already, and there was no reason to fear today would be any different. And Cardinal… She was maybe going to kill even if he survived.

But no. She had to trust him. She had to put her faith in him. Screw the maybe, she was positively going to kill him when they both made it home.

Now it was time to find the other two. "Pathfinder Yumi,," Madalena breathed into her commdevice, her eyes still scanning the horizon, looking for any incoming danger, "rendezvous at the main FOB location. I'm going to find our new recruit and bring her there as well. Protect the builders and the engineers."

And with that, Madalena closed her eyes, spreading her presence forth with the Force, wider and wider, covering more and more ground, until… There. She knew where Eli-Mae was. Now all she had to do was go get her, as promised.

There seemed to be no saboteurs within sight, the streets were eerily quiet. While the officers stood firmly where they had lined up, Ruus knew that they were only human. They would feel fear just the same as anyone in their position. Ruus turned to face his comrades and gave them a confident grin "No news is good news." which elicited a few smirks "Hold here, I'll take a walk around the building." and so the Captain went around the left side of the building housing the city's shield generator. It was a windowless box but it did shroud the less than aesthetic construct.

As Ruus made his quick patrol around he looked up and could see a few stray blaster bolts impact the shield which lit up in a brilliant blue rejection. His eyes returned to what was before him, the four airspeeders that he and his had brought along as transportation. They appeared to be just the same condition as when they were parked. Now behind the building there was nothing to be seen. A small door was located on the left corner of the back wall. Ruus walked up the two steps to the handle and gave it a firm pull. The door gave no response. It firmly remained in place.

The journey around the right side was similarly uneventful as the left hand side. When Ruus rejoined the other Guard he rubbed his chin a few times and laid his hand back down on the blaster holster "Nothing of note. There is a back door, locked, but that's about all. With any luck the invaders will be pushed back and we won't see a single droid. If we do-" he paused for a moment "If we do then we have bigger problems."

The world was on fire.

War was not conflict. War was fire. Fire that consumed all. The earth, the air, the planet, the souls of all that it touched. War left it's ugly mark on everything it touched. Any place that had seen war would always be tainted by it. The resonance of war could be felt through eons and eons later.

Karsan Calnov was determined to make the Mandalorians remember this. To remember the rage. To remember that anger. For revenge. For retribution of those the Red Coronation marked traitors. Those who had been true to the Resol'nare. To the ideas that the Death Watch fought for. To those that perished in the war against Mia Monroe. To those that killed in the pursuit of justice and vengeance.

And now, Karsan Calnov was staring down those who he would consider family. Vode- was the word. To an outsider, that word meant brother or sister. To Karsan, that meant when you said that- the Mandalorian you were looking at was an extension of your blood family. Because- to the Mandalorians, the circumstances of birth were ultimately irrelevant. Every Mandalorian was part of the family. The father and mother were important- but every Mandalorian was your brother and sister.

The ones he was going to kill were none of those.

His father abandoned him. His father left him out of his life. His service under Darth Carnifex made him mad with rage at himself. He was a monster. He was an animal. And as he turned his head towards Kaden, something snapped inside of Karsan Calnov. Something primal, something instinctual.

R6yPAAA.gif

He displaced the machine gun positions- and while running at the enemy- began to reload his machine gun with a box magazine. He had emptied the belt- securing enough casualties to make most mass murderers blush. And he used his jetpack to jump at the enemy lines. Landing in one of the makeshift defensive positions- Karsan mowed down the axis of militamembers, screaming.

Karsan Calnov was on his way to the turbolasers- and he was coming with a plan. But for now- machine gun in hand, he was slaughtering the defenders in droves. They were no match for him. His training, his accuracy, his precision. A finely-tuned instrument of revenge and anger, well-trained and well-practiced. They were outgunned and outclassed-

And his target grew closer and closer. There was nothing but the war. Nothing but the fire now.

That inferno.

"These are the lengths people will go to protect those they care for from annihilation." Dezoti mused from her seat as she glanced to the hammerheads slamming into the Resolve. For a moment, it looked like [member="Adenn Kyramud"] 's plan to push the SSD from the sky would work. But, it held. The large ship was simply too powerful in it's engines to be pushed aside. And it was bringing around it's cannons. This wasn't good.

"Admiral, I think it's time we unleash the FC-115's. Launch all squadrons. I want those cannons targeted and those engines keeping it afloat shut down. Now!" This couldn't fail. Not if the UCM was to win this battle. The FC-115's that had been waiting in the hangers of the Vanguard and the Mohn left, though it wasn't easy to tell. They activated their stealth immediately. Two of the squads went for the large batteries about to fire on the Hammerheads, unleashing their payload of the EMP slugs to shut them down.

The rest of the ships remained in stealth, flying to the other side of the SSD to target the engines fighting against the Hammerheads' push. Ion bombs unleashed, EMP slugs were fired. Everything they had in their attempt to cripple the SSD enough for it to be pushed down onto Tanaab. The Chiss would not let their allies fail today.

Meanwhile, [member="Kat Decoria"] would find her pursuers retreating, heading back to the Chiss Fleet that had moved from the current space. At least, that was their intention. The detonation from [member="Visanj T'shkali"] wiped out the two squads as they chased after the Cyan Squad, leaving not only dust as the star core went nova. If Cyan Squad somehow survived this trap, they would find no opposition from the Chiss who were now quite some distance away.

The deathtroopers shot the witch a quick glare through their helmets as the witch spoke. without hesitation, they all turned their guns on her, pulling the trigger, but as soon as they had, the sith had drawn and fired her weapons with unnatural speed. there was little on could do to avoid something like that, though thankfully, their armour had been designed specifically to take shots from slug throwers, thanks to the native tribe wars on their homeworld.

they all kicked on their repulsor pack in order to avoid the uneven and shaking ground created by the witch's magic, after spraying a few rounds each, several of them immediately unbuckled or unstrapped their cuirass and tassets, their groins and chests had been saved by the highly kinetic resistant Armor they wore, but the acid would begin eating away at the heavy armor. one of the men was not so lucky, and hadn't gotten his off in time, the acid ate a small wound into his chest before he could get it off.

"Chit! chit! chit!" he muttered before throwing the armour at [member="Scherezade deWinter"] and then boosting his repulsor pack, spraying rounds down at her as he soured into the air. another two of the men did the same, soaring into the air, firing down at her, while the other three fired at her from the closer to the ground, using their repulsor packs to launch themselves backwards rather than up. one of them tosses a thermal detonator before the three closest to the ground re-cloak themselves.

Summery for the lazy folk:
Hits taken: torso armour blocked the bullets as usual, though were ditched due to lack of acid resistance.
fireteam onyx: 3 troopers activate their repulsor packs, speeding them upwards while raining down fire from their TL-50 repeaters.
Fireteam dust: three troopers remove themselves from melee range by blasting themselves backwards with their repulsor packs while all firing with their TL-50 repeaters, one throws a thermal detonator at dewinter.

Xobos’s hands reached down to clench the holotable again, as she watched the lasers of her ship do very little against the shielding of the enemy’s command ship. She was hoping to achieve a bit more shield damage before this point, knowing the next part of her plan was still to come. This was, however, before the rest of the mandalorain fleet turned it’s guns against her ship, rocking it as the shields shrugged to hold up against the initial barrage.

The deck hand shouted from his console, updating her on the situation. “That first barrage left us at 85% shields ma’am!” Nodding slowly, her eyes turned back to the battlefield in front of her as she observed the situation. There was a tradeoff from the focused fire on the Roon’s Spear that she observed. Turbolaser fire that would be directed toward the HeVeSFs were now headed toward her, leaving them basically alone. There were two red, smaller squares, the corvettes, Xobos assumed, thinking that they could use their speed to maneuver their way out of the main fire of the HeVeSFs. And in a way, it was probably a correct thought. However, it still wouldn’t save them for long.

The apprentice looked to her first officer, speaking in as calm a voice as the situation would allow. “Those corvettes have probably already done a bit of damage to the HeVeSFs shields. I understand they’re fast..but they’re not fast enough to outmaneuver all of their turbolasers. Have them each focus on one and open up on them. And to keep up their hypervelocity cannon fire and proton cannons firing against that frigate. Tell The Prophet and the Albatross Rising to focus on one of their corvettes, and Ryloth’s Endeavor and Immortal Life on the other. They won’t survive long against that kind of firepower bearing down on them. When they’ve mopped up that mess, have them begin to focus fire on the frigate that hasn’t taken any damage yet.” With that, her attention turned back to the situation her command ship was in, which was heighted by the deck hand shouting out again. “75 shields ma’am!”

Now it was the time to figure out what to do with her own group, but at the moment, she was partially stumped. With all of the fire, the explosions against her shields, it was hard to focus. Yet, in that moment, the combined voice entered her mind, seemingly attempting to focus her, in it’s own horrible way. “Think, little master. Your ship is larger. Figure out a way to turn this around, or we’ll both be floating in space.” The miraluka nodded silently to herself, nodding slowly as she scrolled down the list of weapons her ship carried, studying them while looking back and forth from them to the main Mandalorian vessel. Their ships were practically side by side now, only a few hundred kilometers apart. Her eyes never left the battle on the holotable as she gave the orders, slowly and concisely, so nothing was left out. “Fire everything we have, except our turbolaser batteries against that Mon Cal vessel. Including our proton torpedoes. Get those shields down and destroy that thing. It’s the only ship that really poses a threat to us.”

She took a second to look over the battle, before pointing toward the Nebulon B2 that had taken no damage up to this point. “Our turbolaser batteries. Fire all of them on that. Lets soften it up for when the HeVeSFs are done with the other one.” Just before she began to give orders for the Hive Destroyer, she watched as one of her blue squares slowly blinked out of existence, only added to by looking out the viewport and watching the Bright Star explode in a blaze of glory. Her eyes were locked on the space where the ship was, caught up in the moment, only to be snapped out of it by a loud, “Focus!” from Lagos screaming through her mind.

He was right, however. She still had ships that needed commands. It was time for the Providence to help in it’s full capacity. With a small smirk on her face, her eyes met V’ylin’s for just a moment. “It’s time for the Hive Destroyer to have some fun, don’t you think? Tell it to focus it’s turbolaser cannons, ion cannons, and proton torpedos on the command vessel. It’s laser cannons need to focus on the second frigate, much like ourselves. Make sure it’s point defense cannons are destroying any fighter that gets too close as well.”

The deathstalkers were last, and almost certainly least. Their weapon capacity disappointed the young apprentice, though they could be useful. “Finally, inform the Core’s Voyager and Vicelord’s Façade to take on the corvette that just destroyed the Bright Star. Don’t let that thing survive. The rest of the deathstalkers, fighters, and interceptors are to seek and destroy. Lets end this battle quickly, shall we?” V’ylin stood for a moment, a smile on his face at the young apprentice’s adeptness at observation and strategy, giving her a nod. “And so we shall, commander.”

At the moment, it didn’t look like this engagement would last all that long. Her fleet had more firepower and a better ability to split it’s fire to different ships. Still, it was to be seen how much damage the Mon Cal ship took, though the firepower of a Providence II and a Star Destroyer bearing down on it meant it’s amazing shields couldn’t last too much longer. However, there was another engagement to turn her mind to, one that she had been neglecting to this point.

Her eyes focused back to the dogfight that was occurring near the city between her interceptors and fighters against the enemies. And in that moment, she realized just what she had been neglecting. A complete and total losing battle. In the time they had been engaged and Xobos hadn’t been paying attention, assuming that overwhelming numbers would be plenty, the two squadrons had lost at total of ten of the fighters she had sent, being six tri-fighters and four of grey squadron. She watched as another small blue triangle fazed out of existence, signifying another loss for the sentient group of fighters. Another life lost. The apprentice swallowed as she pressed a few buttons on the holotable, opening up a comm channel to grey one, hoping to get a read on the situation.

What followed, had the apprentice practically reeling. “This is grey one! I’ve lost grey two through four and seven and eight. Their cannons are tearing us apart! Is there anyone that can help us?!” Her breathing began to become shallow at hearing this, her hands returning to gripping the table. Five pilots, dead, because she had been too brash in sending them in and ignoring them. Her fault. The guilt washed over her in waves as she attempted to figure out a solution.

The easiest would be just pull them out of the engagement, but who was to say that the fighters of the enemy’s group wouldn’t just stay on their tails until each and everyone of them was destroyed? No, they would need to fight their way out of this or die trying. Even so, as she thought more and more about them, she could practically feel their pain, their anxiety, their fear at the situation. She could feel each of the remaining pilots through the force, as if they were standing right next to her.

Her eyes slowly closed, focusing on the feeling, erasing everything else from her mind in the moment except for the pilots. It was as if they were all sitting in a dark room, facing forward. Xobos could feel herself walking between the seats, and as she did so, touched each of them on the shoulder for a moment. Their fears and anxieties, dissipated like a mist, and the apprentice could practically feel their movements becoming quicker, more precise, as if they had melded with the machine itself and were willing them to victory.

This was not to last, however, as the mist in the dark room descended on her, and the voices of her inner demons shouted loudly, causing her practically double over in the pain. “Unwelcome.” “Undesirable.” “Unworthy!” “Useless!” “Damaged!!” “Murderer!!!” “Weak!!!” “Unsuitable!!!” It was as if each and every word was shouted at a higher decidable, destroying Xobos’s mental state as her hands practically clawed at her head. The mark on her arm burned white hot, seemingly trying to bring her back from the brink of unconsciousness.

It wasn’t enough, however, and the apprentice collapsed to the floor beside the holotable, voices still screaming away in her head as the darkness began to close in on her vision. In the background, she could hear the callings from Grey One, seemingly more positive than before. But all she could hope was that what she did, whatever it was, was worth it, and grey squadron would survive the encounter. Hoping that this blacking out wouldn’t last too long either would be nice.

Those were the last thoughts that passed through her mind, breathing heavily as the darkness closed in, vaguely aware of the grey haired officer attempting to shake her awake, before the darkness encapsulated her vision, and the apprentice fell unconscious.

"You felt it too," the smaller Jen'jidai muttered as Hevn landed nearby and righted himself. It was less of a question than a statement; if someone was dying, Hevn was the more likely of them to have any sense about it than Alkor. His specialties lay in that area of the Force, after all. "We can investigate later. Now, I'm almost..."

Access Granted. User Security Clearance Authorized. Input command?

Alkor typed a few lines into the Gauntlet and his eyes followed the fast moving strings of data, picking out important details. Keywords like shield and defense systems came up with negative results. He narrowed his eyes. "They're not on the network," Alkor sneered. "Prudent of them. The defenses and shield generators must be drop ins, prefab from Mandalore."

What that meant, Hevn would understand more simply as "I can't access them. There's nothing to access." Alkor wasn't about to take that for an answer, however. He knew that even if the systems Mandalore had brought with it were beyond his reach, Tanaab itself was already at his fingertips.

And he was, effectively, Air Traffic Control.

"Alright, if that's what you want..."

Security systems online. IFF prioritization accepted- United Clans of Mandalore ships defined: hostile. Recalibrating defense measures...

Sirens began to scream. Red and golden flashing lights illuminated the city streets as panic erupted.

He typed a few more lines as the Spaceport groaned ominously, coming alive as his fingers stroked the belly of the beast and spurred it to rage. Droids intended to keep the peace and lock down civil unrest whirred to life in the streets, scanning armor data for UCM IFFs. They would begin to attack- albeit programmed to detain, not eliminate.

In the midst of that chaos, the rest of the first hack would take effect. The Confederate IFFs flagged immediately friendly, and two things happened: security systems on the local network no longer recognized them as legitimate targets. Anything on the Mandalorian Network would be unaffected by this, but all systems acquiring target data from the Tanaab airspace control tower or immediate security systems would cease to fire on Confederate IFFs and prioritize UCM ships.

It was much less than dropping the shield may have been, but the insanity, and the Spaceport itself turning on those who came to defend it, those were their own reward.

"Please remain calm and move toward the nearest shelter. Pandath city has come under attack. This is not a drill..."

Things had certainly heated up a lot since the strafing started, the sky now filled with different ships and craft going about their own tasks, perhaps she should bring her own fighter some time. Drop pods were good an allowed for a fast insertion but came at the expanse of a lack of gear, the metal containers only able to take so much to the surface with it's occupants. Normally it was never a problem but with enemy air fighters in range of their FOB it would have been nice to take to the sky's, though such was not her job right now.

Taking cover behind a small outcropping her com-link spluttered to life as Madalena's words came through, "roger that, not sure who's idea it was to bring a rookie along but what's done is done, I wish you luck". The red head should be fine under the knight commanders watch that much was certain, though the real problem was getting to her in time, a stray blaster round, rocket, just about anything could carry your name on it. Random luck was more of a factor on a hectic battlefield that people realized, not even she was immune to it's whims.

Holstering her arms Kurenai started to quick march back towards the FOB, most likely where the rest of the knights and dauntless commandos where making planet fall. Perhaps one of them brought some hand held AA with them.

Hevn ceases his assessment, certain that the area is at least momentarily secure. Whoever it was that passed was still echoing through his deep connection to the dark side. His brain was caught in a fog of thin details regarding their fall. He could feel the bones cracking like twigs under the pressure of overwhelming force. He could feel the peaks and valleys of fear and rage dancing with the girl to her grave. Though the body was broken and expired, her essence continued to howl, unbroken, unavenged.

Momentarily meeting Alkor’s gaze he responds with a grunt of affirmation and a solemn nod. Bogan would take them all, eventually. Hevn was tactful and resourceful enough to continue escaping death and it’s feeble grasp. For how long he could keep it up was the real question. How long before he was just a shade of his own violence, hatred, and rage. Trapped within a dimension of darkness that gnawed on the mind and soul. Becoming a sickened and poisoned husk, enslaved by your worsts fears and bleakest feelings. Hevn never thought to see his masters, his brothers, reduced to such a pathetic state. The afterlife was not kind to those who walked this road.

Alkor always wore such things for them to see. His life of agony and loss was etched on every fiber of his being. His skin carved with Sith runes and his resentment smoldering like lava lurking under rock. Will such a fate fall upon you too brother? You too have seen them. Stripped of their power, glory, and wisdom. Titans degraded to worms. Can we escape it Alkor? Can we find Valhalla?

“Drop ins...,” Hevn’s scowl was hidden by his decorative mask. Soon it flipped around into a grin of pride. Alkor was a hacker, slasher, and sleuth to be certain, but he had never been witness to his skill as a slicer. Whether a spark of his own brilliance or a contingency plan, he approved wholeheartedly of the chaos that was about to unravel. The shudder of the spaceport put him on edge for a moment before he realized it was their doing. Alkor was above the need for commendation or congratulations. At best Hevn usually mustered a backwards compliment that often offended the party he intended to recognize.

With a little effort he musters a nod of acknowledgement, “Impressive.”

With the shield up, everything began to calm down. Thanks to the quick work of all the soldiers that just arrived, one could now call the area a forward operating base. Nathan stood up, stretching his back. He cast a glance around the area, noticing that the other two anti-air guns had been set up. He tossed his wrench to one of the two engineers with him, giving him a slight nod.

"You guys take it from here, make sure this gun is ready to shoot within 5 minutes. I need to get moving."

With that, the commando turned around and rushed towards the command tent, taking a trip through the improvised armoury along his way. Mat stood there, solemnly filtering through the items within the crates, searching for something. Nathan approached the adjacent crate, and began pulling out a ballistic shield. It was then that Mat noticed his presence, and turned to face his fellow commando.

"How could you... just leave! He was dying, Vance, dying goddamnit. Are you this cowardly? Unable to stay with a friend in his last moments?"

Nathan turned, staring at the furious man standing next to him. A mix of fury and sadness took it's place on the soldier's face, forming an agonising expression. Nathan propped his shield down against the crate, took off his helmet and placed it slowly on top of the crate. His gaze met Mat's eyes, eyes full of tears and fury.

"Mat, you know I was trying to get help. You know it. There is no need to blame yourself, or others. Calm down. We shall have our revenge."

Mat stood, rooted to the ground. Unfeeling, unflinching, unfazed. It looked for a moment as though a small smile crossed his face. He lowered his head, and turned back to the crate. Nathan followed suit, and began assembling a .48 Enforcer pistol. A powerhouse of a weapon, that would certainly do well in the environment within the city when paired with a shield. Digging a little more within the crate, Nathan found 8 magazines for the enforcer, and fixed them to his plate carrier. 72 rounds of unparalleled destructive capability. They would certainly get the job done.

"Hey, Nathan" - Mat spoke to Nathan in a quiet, broken voice.

"Yes, Mat?" - Nathan turned around, only to be faced by the cold barrel of a blaster pistol. "What the hell are you doing?" Nathan stood, unmoving.

"You betrayed us... left a friend to die... You are a coward Nathan. You have no place among the commandos."

Crrraaaaaaaack!

A round exploded from the Enforcer in Nathan's right hand, with it's signature sound, akin to a cannon firing. The .48 slug ripped through Mat's armour, creating a sizeable hole in the trooper's left leg. The man lurched forward in pain, grabbing his leg with his left hand, but raising the pistol with his right, firing a shot. The blast of red energy flew into Nathan's shoulder pad, knocking him back. Quickly recovering, Nathan swung his left hand forward, grabbing Mat's shooting hand. He dropped his Enforcer as he charged into the man, tackling him to the ground. A fierce struggle ensued, with Nathan attempting, with his every move, to disarm his opponent. Troopers were already nearing the two men, shouting for both to cease. However, neither could afford to. Nathan managed to position himself on Matthew's right hand side, putting as much pressure as he could on the man's hand. He finally succeeded in knocking the gun to the side, and immediately rolled back, as a few troopers immediately grabbed him, forcing him to the ground.

Nathan didn't resist. Instead, he slowly turned his head to take a look at what was happening with Mat. The men beside him were not on the ground, attempting to restrain him. Instead, they just stood around his body, staring down.

"What happened to him? What the damn is going on?" - Nathan shouted to those holding him down. Slowly, they let the commando go. Nathan quickly sprung to his feet, rushing over to Matthews body. He lay there, completely still. A calm expression lay still on the man's face. His hand was holding a knife, covered in his own blood.

Nathan bent down slowly, staring at the man in horror. He was dead. Killed by his own hand, after attacking a comrade. If this was what war did to good people, what would it do to the monsters. Shuddering, Nathan stood up, arms shaking. "Get him to the medics. Have them confirm the death. Then get back to your stations. There is a lot we have to do."

The soldiers acted quickly. Soon enough, the dead man's body was being transported to the medical tent by a solemn procession of troopers. War did terrible things. Horrifying things. It twisted people, twisted their minds and clouding their reasoning. But those willing to fight had to accept this as part of their job. Even if it was a horrible pain to bear. Nathan picked up his shield and moved towards the command tent, shaking with every step. The events that just occurred struck him deeply, greatly traumatising the man. However, this was just another small addition to a soldier's collection of trauma and horror they would see over their course of service. A soldier is not unfeeling. He is just capable of bearing with the harsh reality.

Nathan stumbled inside of the tent, taking place among the other soldiers. They were preparing for an attack. They were preparing to see more death. They were preparing to kill. They were preparing for war.

Kat sensed the danger before even realising what it could be, the Force called out to her and Kat reacted quickly, tapping her comms she contacted all the N-Wing pilots out there. "Move planet side people! Something is going to go down and it ain't gunna be pleasant!" Pushing her engine to the limit, Kat drove her ship towards Tanaab, hoping that the blast wouldn't reach that far. The blast was triggered shortly after Kat announced the danger, the bomb was intense and the N-Wing shook hard as she tried to wrangle the controls to keep the ship steady as she could hear the exclamations of her fellow pilots as they realised the bomb had been released. There was no time for them to react. Most of the pilots were able to get out of the blast range of the bomb, however not all of them. Several of the ships had been knocked out by ion attacks leaving them vulnerable and caught in the blast.

Their screams as they died were all Kat could and would hear. They were her people, people she trained and people she had put in this situation. Kat couldn't let them die alone, she just wished that whoever released the bomb could have given her more warning. This was war and she couldn't lose her focus now, the screams of her people would haunt her but she needed to make sure they didn't die for nothing. The Chiss fighters moved in on Voph's ship, Kat realised that they were going to try taking down the ship. Ordering the remaining members of Cyan Squad and the other N-Wing pilots, they went to chase down the Chiss fighters attacking Voph. However they went stealth, scanners couldn't track them and they were hidden from sight.

Things were looking tough but Kat, Kat had to trust in the force. She moved around and tried to spot them, remembering all that just happened. Tapping into the Force best she could, Kat attempted to fire on the fighters with the Force guiding her aim. It wasn't perfect but it was an edge that she needed to use. Shooting at the Chiss fighters, Kat steeled herself as she knew all of the other fighters wouldn't be able to fire on the fighters in stealth mode.

Aedan smirked as initial reports came in his eyes flickering over the various read outs slowly as he took in everything that was coming in. Finally he turned as a portion of the enemy armada turned to engage the stealth fleet tapping on the arm of the command throne as he took his seat Aedan finally spoke his attention divided between various actions. "Have the stealh fleet disengage for now and fall back before committing a series of micro jumps to come in from a 2nd direction. Have Force Ghost's 1st wing come in from that angle instead to engage the enemy ships. Inform our Alor-class to close with the Invictus-class at close range it should hold the advantage. Also have the Strike-class and Deimos-class escorts for the fleet break off and give chase to those invasion ships I want them harassed all the way to the ground before they return." Suddenly an officers panicked yelling drew Aedan's attention as he saw their display lighting up with various targeting locks on the Bane. A viscous smirk cross his face as he turned to the helmsman and shouted an order. "ANGLE US TO TAKE MOST INCOMING FIRE ON THE STELLAR SOLAR ARRAY!" The bridge crews eyes widened before similar smirks adorned their faces and the helmsman followed the order the bulk of the Bane starting to rotate along its axis until the Stellar Solar Array emblazoned with the crest of Clan Akaata was in position to take most of the incoming fire before it could hit the ship. Aedan grit his teeth as he felt at least half of the shots that were guaranteed hits still impact the shields rocking the large ship lightly before reports came in about the amounts of energy gained from the use of the array. Smirking he quickly ordered that half of that energy to be routed directly to shielding to boost the shields of the ship while the other half was added to the weapons to give them some extra firepower. "Bring us about for a broadside on em and order the rest of the fleet to pair up and fire for effect on the rest of the enemy force."

From where he stood, Malphas watched as the enemies Stealth fleet disengaged. He eyed the maneuver with disdain as he realized he had fallen into the man's ploy. He was feeling him out, nothing more. The Exarch made a sound of discontent, yet he did not dare let his emotions get the best of him, not here.

"My lord, the enemy fleet is disengaging. Should we order our ships to pursue?" A droid's metallic voice asked cautiosuly.

"No. We can't properly target them and with that level of fire power it would just be a waste of time. Order our ships to disengage and return to our center line." He ordered. The droid turned back to his terminal, setting the command into the device so that their own fleet would not attempt such a venture of their own volition. Yet, before anything could be done, one of Malphas' officers pointed out a ship moving to face the Invictus-Class cruiser. The ship was breaking off from the Mandalorian fleet, causing the Sith Lord to smirk a bit. "It's going to take on my fleet? Very well, order the detachment to focus fire on that ship, bring it out of the skies." The order was transferred to the Invictus and it was quick to receive such an order. Outside of the Armada's firing line, the Invictus prepared it's weaponry to engage as it came about. It's long-ranged weaponry would be superior as the enemy ship worked to cross the distance between them. The Invictus gave no such opportunity before it's Composite Beam Laser fired through space, aiming to slam into the hull of the Alor-Class ship.

Malphas watched with pride, yet he did not savor it. He watched as the enemy's return fire slammed into his escorts. The shots were sloppy due to the Reflec coating that kept the Whitestar cruisers immune from most sensors and scanners, yet they were hard targets to miss. The firing order slammed into the escorts and played havoc with their shielding. Most came out of the firing order in tact, most. It seemed that the enemy had spread his fire across Malphas' escorts. Malphas paused, before finally looking to his deck officers. "Report."

"Sir, all ships shields and hulls are holding, The Dread Queen's defenses are holding up, but it's taking some punishment."

As the reports came in, he nodded his head approvingly. It meant that the enemy's firepower did not quite outmatch their own. Which meant only one thing.

It was time for a second volley. "Order the Dread Queen to prepare it's composite beam laser. Bring all ships on line." Again the ships prepared their weapons systems, this time paired with The Dread Queen's own hellish weapons system.

"We made the mistake of giving them a second chance, do not make it again. All ships, fire!" He commanded, and with his command yet again the Confederate Armada reigned hell upon the enemy flagship with merciless practice. As the Armada let out a torrent of fire, Malphas kept his eyes peeled on the ships that had detached themselves from the Mandalorian fleet. "Damn them. Prepare to dispatch aid to our invasion ships." He said, turning from the viewport, his eyes closing a bit. The Dark Side of the Force wrapped itself around him, keeping his mind on the task at hand, and dipping him ever deeper into the nether that twisted around him.

*"Mimi ni mwana wa Mlima, nikuheshimu miungu kupitia damu." The words were spoken silently, almost a prayer as the man pressed himself next to a nearby building. The Mandalorian's city was quiet, far more quiet than it had any right to be. Even with the war that raged on all around, this street seemed quiet to Cardinal. He inhaled, drawing the Force into his very being as he worked to clear his mind of all distractions. This time, he would be more than a warrior, he would become a force of the gods themselves that tore through the Mandalorians, piece by piece. He rounded the corner of the building, his sunburnt eyes gazing out at the AA gun that fired a number of paced rounds into the skies. He'd been tasked with dismantling the Mandalorians defenses and their infrastructure, what better way to do this than by starting with their artillery.

He watched the men who guarded the gun. They were alert, positioned well to keep the weapon from being tampered with. No, there would not be a way to bypass these men without a fight. With a subtle push, Cardinal pressed himself into the minds of one of the Mandalorians. It was brief, just enough for him to determine if the warrior could be fooled by a mind trick. The answer was the same with him as it was with the others, no. They had a mental discipline about them that meant his suggestions would not work. "The hard way, it is."

A mountain of a man, the Sandali warrior charged. His massive form, still cloaked and concealed with the Force moved with great haste. He rushed to close the distance between himself and the soldiers guarding that gun. His arm came forward in a great sweep, the blade in his hands flying in a vicious strike. The tip of the blade was sharpened, and behind the incredible strength that Cardinal wielded, it was enough to shatter the Beskar plate the man wore. The loud crash could be heard echoing out as the Mandalorian was swept from his feet. To the Mandalorians surrounding him, Cardinal was no more than a specter. A shadow that had brought death to their comrade. Still, they fired. Their blaster shots were uncoordinated and essentially, guesses. A few of the blasts glanced over his armor as he pulled his spear from the warrior and let his left hand reach out. He curled his fingers into a tight fist, causing the Force to violently lash out, crushing the wind pipes of another two Mandalorians.

Cardinal drew back, aiming his spear at one of the men. His concentration on the Force faded and the monster of a man began to materialize before them. Not before the tip of his spear found the chest of another Mandalorian. He'd thrown it as the men paused to adjust their fire towards him. It slammed against the man's chest, knocking him back against the hard ground. Sure, it was winding but without his full strength behind it, it was no more than a disarming blow.

The sharp pain in his arm caused Cardinal to clench his fists tight. One of the warrior's had come along his side. The crimson liquid that flowed from his abdomen caused him to curse, yet there was some comfort there. The armor he wore had stopped most of the blade and even better...it was stuck. Cardinal's hand came forward, gripping the Mandalorian by his buy'ce and smirking wildly. He picked the man up from his feet, using him as a shield for the blaster fire that continued to dance over him. A few glancing blows may have caught him, yet the Beskar the man wore soaked most of it up. Cardinal stepped forward, throwing the man high, and watching as he slammed into a group of his comrades. Wiping the sweat from his brow, Cardinal held a hand out so that his own blade would fly back to his hands.

"Show me the might of the Mandalorians, the true might." He demanded.

*"I am the son of the mountain, may i honor the gods through blood."

Allies: UCM and our allies
Enemies: Any Confederate who dares come near my hospital
Post: 2

Taozi watched Sterling leave her office quietly. In truth, she knew that the Komo would not heed her request. He would die on the battlefield to protect her hospital, and all the innocents in it, and she could never convince him not to. Not when the Confederacy had come to annihilate her and her clan's presence on Taanab for the perceived sins of the whole of the UCM. A clan that had done nothing but provide medical aid, humanitarian support, and research to the galaxy. A clan who would provide aid, no matter who needed it. Mandalorians known not for death, destruction, and hate... But for life, restoration, and love. Love for their people, their planet, their galaxy.

And the Confederacy of Independent Systems would destroy them, all for the actions of the few.

There was no moral high ground to be found here on Taanab for the Confederates.

A deep sigh came from the doctor as she looked back out the window, and watched a third of their defenses head out into the city. It hurt her heart to see her home destroyed like this but... it can be rebuilt. Buildings and homes can be rebuilt, roads and other infrastructure can be restored. Lives, however, can never be replaced. She would need to contact Clan Bral once these Confederates got off their high horses and realized that they were no worse than the few Mandalorians whose crimes they use to paint the the rest of the United Clans of Mandalore as horrific monsters. She had heard they were exquisite at construction work, and had no doubts they could rebuild Pandath bigger, better, and more beautiful than before these self-righteous Sith and their friends came to destroy it.

A growl of anger came from her throat, and her lips curled back in a snarl. It was not often the doctor allowed her emotions to flow, but she could feel her control slipping. Her eyes narrowed, full of rage, as she looked out past the city's shield. These Confederates were fools. Fools could not understand the gravity of their actions. Fools could not understand who they fought against. Fools could not understand when they were wrong. Fools, the lot of them!

Taozi bit back a scream of rage, before composing herself. Always in control of your emotions. The epitome of calm and collected. Always. In. Control. Breathe. In. Out. In. Out. Think of a surgery, like he taught you. Sterilize the place of incision. Breathe. Mark the skin. Take the scalpel in your hand, and make the first incision. Breathe. You'll be okay.

With a deep breath out, Taozi calmed herself. Her usual face of indifference back, she took to the hospital announcement system, with one last message to her vode.

"Remember, everyone. No matter how much good you do in your life, you will always be the villain in someone else's story. Remember this, and do not be disheartened by those who paint you as evil, without really knowing who you are."

Satisfied, Taozi left her office, leaving a quiet orchestral music to be played over the speaker system. Perhaps it would distract those under her care from the face of destruction. A hum came from her as the Clan Mortui guards assigned to her followed her downstairs. Aditya and Adenn's triplets posed the least likely to survive being moved in the mass evacuation, nay, the exodus of Taanab. After Sterlin's surgery on one of the boys, Taozi wanted to check in on them personally. Walking into the private room, she noticed the very obvious missing mother, and open window. A frown pulled the doctor's lips downward, as she turned to [member="Beth Cadera"].

"What. Happened."
