Exiting the Sith tomb, Dreidi panted hard. Yavin IV had been more challenging for her than she had even thought it could be. The visions felt so real and they had been so devastating that she hadn’t been able to think at times. There was a real concern that Dreidi would succumb to the darkness that was attempting to envelop her. It was finding the balance within that saved her. Stepping towards her ship, there was much more understanding she held in the corrupting powers of the Sith and how intoxicating such powers held. It was also an insight in how cruel she would become if she succumbed to the Dark Side.
For now, she was glad to see it all but shaken beyond belief by the whole ordeal.
Dreidi reached her ship and looked at the final planet that was meant to be part of her journey for the Jedi pilgrimage. Crait. A seemingly unassuming world, bar the fact it had been a base for both the rebellion against the first Galactic Empire as well as where the legendary Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker faced off with the First Order and Kylo Ren. Dreidi wanted to visit since it held a lot of historic interest, as well as she had been feeling a deep pull from within to visit the world. Something was there that she was sure was calling out to her.
Punching in the coordinates, for the ship to take off and take her straight to Crait, Dreidi let sleep finally reach her. Desperate to recover and remain strong now that the hardest part of her journey was over.
The loud beeping from the ship startled Dreidi awake. She paused and looked around, confused where she was until the sleepiness faded away and she realised that she was in space looking at Crait. Dreidi looked over the scans of the planet from her ship, figuring out where it was that she wanted to head towards. Her finger scrolled around aimlessly before it settled on a location. Something called out to her that this was where she needed to be.
Dreidi flew the ship down to the location, letting the artificial intelligence take over the controls to land. She changed into her Jedi gear before stepping outside. The air was breathable and she knew the surface was covered in a thin layer of salt. Looking around, there was nothing obvious about why this had to be the reason why Dreidi had to come here. Before she could take a step in any direction she heard the sounds of Vulptex.
They quickly shifted and surrounded her, baring fangs and adopting aggressive stances as they all stared at Dreidi. She paused, surprised that they would have taken action like this since reports on them never depicted them acting this hostile to strangers. Holding a hand out, Dreidi worked a spell that would help her create links with the animals and avoid this becoming terrible.
As she cast her spell, the Vulptex were cautious and wary, barking and growling at her. Dreidi maintained her focus on whom she assumed was the alpha. Finally connecting through the spell, Dreidi was able to share her innocent, pure intentions and that she truly did not mean harm. The Vulptex settled down and backed up slightly. They also shared their reasoning for the aggressive behaviours, people had taken their young, people who carried a weapon like hers.
Sith. Or some kind of Dark Side Force User.
Not great but, Dreidi knew she needed to handle this. It was her duty as a Jedi to investigate. Asking where she could start on attempting to locate them, the Vulptex could only suggest the opposite direction they had come from. Not much to go on but Dreidi had something at least.
