Public Character of the Month July 2025!!! - Nominations!

We're back once again!

Already over half way through the year and there have been some great stories going on, I have also been pumped to see more of where characters are going!

It is also time to get the nominations going and I am stoked to see who are going to be nominated and which threads have gotten people hyped.

Also, please remember the questions when posting the nominations.

Rules are as following:

  • Nominate a character that is not of your writing that has impressed you in the last month.
  • Give the reasons why.
    • Please include thread links for others to see why you love the character so much.
  • You may nominate someone that has already been nominated, they will be listed once in the voting stage and the reasons combined into one.
  • This is for In Character stuff.
  • During the nomination step, you must ask the winner a question for your nomination to count. Yes, that means in this thread, along with the nomination also put a question for the eventual winner, ya scamp.
  • During the voting, please limit yourselves to one vote.
  • Character must have been active in the last month to qualify, would be great if you would keep it to the last months exploits too.
  • Characters can only win once.
  • Please do not nominate Staff.
  • One week to nominate. Approximately.

* Character may not reign as Character of the Month for an exact month. You will live.

Once again, I'm looking forward to all the nominations and seeing what awesome threads and interactions everyone has been getting up to this month!

Let's see who joins our previous winners of Lodd Grimmin Lodd Grimmin , Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen , Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr , Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania , Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze , Darth Caedes Darth Caedes , Roman Vossari Roman Vossari , Naamino Zuukamano Naamino Zuukamano , Micah tol Powl Micah tol Powl , Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik , Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard , Her Her , Azurine Varek Azurine Varek , Kaila Irons Kaila Irons and last month's winner of The Madclaw The Madclaw !!!

Looking forward to seeing all the nominations and the exciting stories that make them deserving!!! :D

OOC Writer Account
I would like to take this time to nominate Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis as the character of the month.

Despite a lengthy OOC absence from the board, Solipsis has once again returned and shown that he is the defacto bad guy on the board today.

This character stands among the small list of great villains that are universally known and remembered by the community in it's twelve year run. What makes this character fantastic and a standout (at least for me) is that despite being a Sith Lord, Solipsis is not aligned to the Sith Order (and it's many iterations over the years) which makes him a unique villain as virtually every other "main baddie" character has been in the TSO. He has made multiple factions (most linked to the Imperial remnants) feel like genuine threats which has historically always been filled by the TSO/TSE or other Sith-centred factions such as the One Sith from 2015.

His comeback this month through the creation of the Galactic Empire and the consequential invasion of Coruscant has been phenomenal with the faction (and it's previous iterations in the form of the Dark Empire, Brotherhood of Maw and New Imperial Order) standing as one of the greats with a long, vibrant, rich history of lore and character development for everyone and their characters of which would not be possible without the galactic threat that is Darth Solipsis.

While other characters nominated this month will have likely contributed to far more threads and post count in comparison to my nomination today, Darth Solipsis and the posts written under the sub-account have been superb. There are many bad guys on this board but few carry the weight behind them as does this character when they post in a thread. When he says or does something you feel like anything can happen making him the perfect foil for the good guys in the Galactic Alliance. Star Wars is nothing without it's bad guys, and in roleplay, the best you can hope for is to feel like you're in a story that fits in from a galaxy far, far away.

With everything Solipsis is involved in it feels exactly like that, and the Coruscant invasion posted this month (where I participated under the sub-accounts of Velis Arden Velis Arden and Vireth Vireth ) is the most fun I have had on the board since I returned to writing here in February 2024. I'd like to thank Logan for coming back and making great Star Wars stories again as Darth Solipsis, and I hope he is rewarded for his efforts with COTM for July, 2025.

My question for the winner is: Do you have a plan to permanently kill off your character already in mind, or are you leaving it to come about organically through roleplay?

I would like to nominate Xeykard Xeykard for COTM. He’s an excellent character whose partnership with Black Sun feels genuine and intriguing. I’ve enjoyed seeing him come along and seek opportunities in the Underworld, and I’m eager to see him at work in our upcoming invasion.

As a resident Khajiit player in every Elder Scrolls title, I’m also a fan of 3rd person speech patterns - this one likes them very much!

My question for the winner: If your character could possess one signature blaster from canon, without it being considered a duplicate - you own the real deal - which would you choose?

(Signature as in, Han’s pistol or Phasma’s rifle)

ᴅᴀʀᴛʜ ᴀɴᴀᴛʜᴇᴍᴏᴜꜱ
I'd like to nominate Rinea Rinea who has been an inspiration since rejoining the board and especially since making this new character with a stranded Mirrorverse empire behind her. I mean, just the concept alone deserves an award right?

Some fantastic threads showcasing this peak intelligence officer include:
  • Handshake
  • Dig In (a beautiful example of how she psychoanalyzes and gets in ppl's heads as a spy)
  • Scarcity
  • REDACTED
  • Reach(important context for the next two)
  • Wield
  • Directive: Purge (culmination of everything started in Reach\Handshake, it's been so fun watching it all build up to this!)

(don't forget her upcoming thread, it launches today!!)

My question for the winner is: Why do you dress like that? (in character)

I'll second the Lizard, tbh. I'm a sucker for up and coming Sith stories.

Question: What is your main motivation in this topsy-turvy galaxy of ours?

Blew up the chicken man in Philly last night
Thanks for the nominations and I'm happy to be alongside people like Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis , Xeykard Xeykard , and Rinea Rinea , who are all doing great stuff out there.

My vote? Klar Klar - earnest brand-new four-armed Padawan who's quietly adding a lot of life and authenticity to the Jedi ecosystem. Faction, Private, First Reply, Invasion, all kinds of threads, almost 200 posts in the last month. I'm biased in that I've done quite a few threads with her writer at various points over the years, but I haven't written with this one, this is just me as observer. For real, don't sleep on checking out what Klar is up to.

I'd like to nominate Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor

This man has always been such an anchor for any jedi order he's been in. He's had a beautiful story of trial and being a better person. It is an end of an era and he gave his life to protect Coruscant, a true Jedi and a true hero.

I feel like we don't get to see these kinds of stories ending in such gut wrenching ways. Reading the last moments of a monumental character like Caltin brings such a humanizing nature to a powerful giant. We got a beautiful glimpse into his last moments and as he knew the choice he made was the end - he accepted it with grace.

Its a rare moment, but this post in the invasion brought tears to my eyes and I just wanted to bring this writer's, this character's story to the light.

You've done a beautiful job Caltin!

Question: What would your character's "7 minutes" be? The 7 minutes is a phenomenon where in the last moments of brain activity before death/near death experience the brain has a life recall.

He stood, so others might rise.

Whose chopping onions???

Seriously, thank you for the kind words. :)

Truly a great list of nominees presented. I think I need to add to it. I nominate Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound

While I have not written anything alongside this character, I have been reading. That is why I'm nominating. There are many character's on here that I like and check in on but few have captured my interest like this one. Chef's kiss to everything I've read. So fun. So interesting. So consistent, and present despite not being a part of any one faction formally. Acier is a very sick character!

Their writer is also a breath of fresh air. I truly appreciate their optimism and energy. I feel blessed to occupy the same spaces as them. I think they are a wonderful addition to any community. They also have other great characters for folks to check out.

My question is, if you could insert your character into one movie, book, comic, or video game from the Star wars canon/legends, what would it be and why?

Edited for Question. Clearly I’m a liar who can’t read. lol
