Business as Usual - Coruscant

Now Playing: "Prelude" by Above and Beyond

Ducha Alarah Kel stepped off of her shuttle lightly, flanked by four business suited security personnel. She wore a flattering red bodycon dress and matching suede boots and a fine red coat lined with white fur. Her idea of winter fashion was indeed stylish, if a bit showy for the occasion. Her dainty hands were sheathed in silk gloves and her lips were coloured a dark red. minimal black eyeliner completed her sparse use of make-up, for Hapan beauty made it unnecessary at her relatively young age. Her blonde hair was mostly covered by her coat's hood, but an observant onlooker would notice she had her hair done nicely in a stylish up-do. Perhaps the only thing out of place on her person was the presence of her rapier neatly attached to her coat's waist sash loops.

On the landing pad she'd stop a moment and raised her ocean-blue eyes to the sky, seeing the millions of airspeeders and the occasional ship swarming through the air above like Gallinorean firedrakes during mating season. Was she not supposed to meet someone here? Where was her welcome?

Alarah's gaze shifted first to the spire that was the Jedi Temple, which held her interest for a time until her gaze moved onward toward the Senate building, where she was meant to go. A zephyr of cold air blew past her, causing her hood to shift a bit on her head. "Hmph... No one to meet us...." she grumbled to no one in particular.

Yusan looked up from a bench by the Senate Building's Imperial Gardens as @[member="Alarah Kel"] came into view, in his hand still rested the datapad he had been working with. With one quick motion he stood and put the datapad in his robes. His appearance was odd though to most of official ranking. He was a Senator but he wore robes that closely resembled a Jedi's, and then he walked with his arms crossed behind him like an officer. He slowly made his way over to what appeared to be a political figure but he had never seen this woman which had prompted his interest. Of course his Jedi bodyguard, yet another contradiction due to his known distaste for Jedi being near the political scene, @[member="Daella Apparine"] would be somewhere nearby no doubt. But he paid no mind as he walked to the woman and gave a slight bow, speaking in a light and cheerful tone, yet another oddity for a Senator as it held no sense of Authority or power behind it. "Hello miss, can i help you. If your a senator i apologize but i have never seen you before."

Alarah quickly turned to face the male who addressed her so casually, her deep blue eyes locking onto him. For a moment, her stare was fixating, but she'd soften her gaze upon realising he wasn't some miscreant her Bransigs would have to make short work of. "I am no senator... a politician, yes, but not one of the Republic's Senate, no." she said, her voice strongly accented with a Hapan Interior inflection. She'd hold her head up high out of habit, not trying to be intimidating. She WAS hereditary nobility from a matriarchal society, however.

"I am on business and I do believe the Senate is the body I am meant to speak to on the matters I bear in mind, no?" she asked

He thought over what he heard and straightened up, a calm and casual smile on his face now. "It depends upon what your business is miss. I am Senator Fenn of Eshan, your name?" He spoke with an unchanging tone, even after the initial scrutiny he seemed to not even notice, the cheerful expression still on his face. The oddest thing now, being completely apparent as no one came to his side, was that he had no aids what so ever and that he appeared to be no older than twenty. To most people they would think that Yusan was playing a joke and wasn't serious one bit. @[member="Alarah Kel"]

Alarah noticed he appeared to be alone and didn't feel she was in any immediate danger. Her bodygaurds stood at ease, but vigilant as they were paid so well to do. Alarah stepped forward a couple of paces and answered, "My name is Alarah Kel, Ducha of Gallinore and CEO of Paragon Enterprises. I am in the defense contracting business as well as an emissary for Her Majesty." she said, referring to the Hapan Queen Mother.

"Eshan.. The world sounds familiar." she said in a thoughtful tone.

Meanwhile, Josh was spending a bit of R&R time on Coruscant after the massive situation around Corumm was resolved. It'd been a lot of expulsions, a lot of punishments, a lot of drama. But things were looking up, and Josh was glad to get a breath of fresh air finally.
As he walked by the spaceport, he happened to notice a familiar figure. @[member="Alarah Kel"]. He gave a slight smile at the familiar sight, and walked over.

Standing behind @[member="Yusan Fenn"], he waited for them to trade their barbs before speaking to Alarah, who he flashed a handsome smile.

Alarah smiled back at Josh upon seeing him approach. It had been some time since she last saw him... when she had welcomed him and Saki into her home. Now, here was the noblewoman on the Jedi's home turf. Something felt amiss, however. She had a feeling she had missed out on something and would have to question Josh on the matter when she had a moment.

"Eshan is home to my people, the Echani. Its not far from Hapan space, as that is what i assume you are from due to your accent, though i could be wrong." He felt Joshua coming towards them long before he had, Yusan hid his force presence enough to make it seem like he only had a slight sensitivity to the force, one that Jedi would pay no mind to. "I look forward to longer conversations with you, as my homeworld is a border planet you being a defense contrator interest me greatly."

Alarah would offer a grin of approval. "I look forward to the grand tour of your world, Senator." she said. "I look forward to talks of business, too. I am personally seeking new resources, which is something i intend to speak to the Senate about... since it will involve claiming territory on undeveloped celestial bodies for that purpose. Paragon's mining and salvage operations are sorely under-used and I intend to rectify this." she explained.

After a pause, she'd add, "And yes, I am Hapan."

Yusan nodded and looked at Joshua, pretending to realize he was there now. "Hello sir, can i help you with something?" He never changed his tone or expression, just plainly asking the question. (Sorry for the short post)

@[member="Alarah Kel"]

Josh smirked a bit as he felt the force sensitivity of the Senator... Then it suddenly was shortened. A second more and Josh would never have caught it. Regardless, the Council's Weaponmaster played along.

When the Senator seemed to pretend to not know of his presence beforehand, he played along with the ruse. Force sensitives in the Senate were nothing new after all.

"Just came to say hello to my dear friend Alarah, good sir" the Jedi said politely, giving Alarah a smile. "Alarah, you look as stunning as when we first met" the Weaponmaster greeted with a grin. "And how are you today? What brings you all the way to Coruscant?"

Alarah's smile widened. This man was as charming as he ever was. "Te'ta'xida, Josh." she said, using the Hapan for Thank you. Josh had been around her enough to catch onto some words and phrases in the Hapan language by now. A simple 'thank you' was one of the more common expressions. She would walk forward a few more steps, her modest height slightly increased by her wedge-heeled boots. They were cleverly designed, however, to make it appear as if the added handful of centimetres were all her own.

"Business and politics, as usual. It is rare I come to this planet, however. I hope to be able to make the trip more often, provided my business allows it." she answered.

Yusan stepped back to let them speak but spoke himself first. "Miss Kel, it was good talking with you, if you wish to further discuss anything i will be off to the side working on a project of my own." He pulled out his datapad and a small holo projector as he walked off, sitting down at a bench he pulled up a file and sent it over to the 3D projector where he pulled apart what looked to be a ship design and began to study it. @[member="Alarah Kel"] @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

Alarah watched as Yusan left to do his own thing. "Ducha Kel, if you please, Senator." she corrected him as politely as she could. Calling her 'miss' was improper, but she couldn't hold it against him for not knowing. She'd note the shape and form of the ship he was pouring over with a hint of interest. Her gaze then returned to Josh, keeping a mental note to discuss Yusan's subject of interest at a later time. She saw a potential opportunity.

"And so, Josh.... has anything happened recently? i have a feeling something is... well... off, I suppose is the word...

The Weaponmaster smiled as he looked her over. The Jedi himself, if Alarah studied him hard enough would see signs of exhaustion, lack of sleep, demonstrated and exemplified by the bags under his sleepless eyes. There were also the lines of stress she could see, as if the man had the world on his shoulders and then some. But regardless, the Jedi's smile never waned, looking confident yet defiant of his exhaustion.

He recognized the words "Tex'ta'xida" as "Thank You" after spending a good long week with Alarah and Saki on Hapes during a business arrangement in order to secure an alliance and trade for the Republic and the Jedi Order. Since they had last met, Josh had become the Weaponmaster, a member of the Jedi Council, and even with the sudden changes of leadership, changing positions and seats in the Council, Josh had remained loyal, neverendingly there with the Jedi no matter what happened. Right now, the only council members left were the new Grandmaster, Darron Wraith, and Josh DragonsFlame, due to the departures of Syn, as well as former Grandmasters Ben Watts and Je'gan. Hopefully, this would change, but for now a lot of responsibility was on the shoulders of the Weaponmaster, though he wished that were his only problem.

Josh gave a nod to Yusan as he said his goodbyes and walked off. His eyes darting back to Alarah, he smiled again.

"Lets see... The Republic/Empire War, The Battle Of Metalorn, the peace treaty between the two sides which are now in a makeshift cold war... The traitorous actions of several now expelled Jedi on Corumm that almost brought The Republic and Jedi to war with every faction in the galaxy, until the Republic was saved from destruction by Interim Chancellor Philip Halen, who was almost impeached because he gave a non combat ship to the CIS in order to make peace and save the Republic in doing so, even though he took the mantle to save them when the raid caused injury to Chancellor Aleidis Ijet, who was forced to resign due to the outrage" he said.

"Oh, and the Jedi Temple was raided by rogue sith, millions of us were killed, many holocrons were destroyed... And those were sold at the auction on Contruum that led to this entire thing"

He shrugs. "On a personal note? I found my brother, who I thought was dead all these years. Turns out the Sith kidnapped him and turned him into one of them. He doesn't exactly like me anymore"

Alarah blinked, taking all this in. "Perhaps you could escort my entourage and I to the Senate? You just gave me yet another thing to bring up before the Republic government." she said. her eyes narrowed a bit in thought. Her business would make a killing as well as strengthen Republic Forces if her ideas were welcomed.

"Come to think of it, I would do well to get out more often... or be informed of current events better. The Republic needs another player in this game, i think..."

Alarah nodded, having nearly forgotten about the nippy temperature in the upper city. On Gallinore, it was already winter in Dimitor. The Solstice festival was going to white this year, for sure. She'd motion for her bodyguards to follow, but interestingly no pilot came out from the shuttle. Alarah would adjust her fur-lined hood and walked with Josh.

"Tell me of your brother, if I may ask of him." she said. She could sort of relate... to an extent. Her own sister was missing as well.

He sighed. "I don't know much of him" he said sadly as he eyed her. "He apparently died in the speeder accident that killed my family at age 3. I didn't see him again until just this year, on a mission to Dantooine. There was a Sith Knight there... When I removed his hood... I could feel it in the Force. I could see it in his eyes. He had his fathers eyes. Nobody could mimic that... It was him, and even by the look on his face, he knew who I was too...." he said, biting his lip.

"It's not really something I like to get into"

Alarah pursed her lips as she strode through the high-risen streets of Coruscant's upper city with the Jedi. "Forgive me." she said simply and quietly. Changing the subject, she'd look toward the temple a ways away. "And this attack on the temple... is it possible to feel the fallen? I knew something was off the moment I first saw that spire just there." she said, pointing at the temple.
