PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Link to shipboard/facility wide security net.
  • Deadman Baradium Charge: If surrounded by hostiles and badly damaged, provided friendlies are not in the blast radius and that hostiles are, the droid will activate its deadman baradium charge in the hope of neutralizing enemies.
STRENGTHS
  • High Resolution, Comprehensive Sensor Suite: The ADT has a variety of high resolution sensors, allowing it to simply boost the sensor capabilities of units it is attached to.
  • Manda Tactical Battlenet: Being based around a Manda tactical battlenet module means that the turret will effectively engage targets, doing so understanding the capabilities and shortcomings of those it is operating alongside.
  • Powerful Weapons: The ADT's weapons loadout enables it to engage a variety of targets, from heavy infantry in the corridors of a starship to enemy armor on the front lines.
  • Fast Track: The ADT-02M has a fast traverse, elevation and depression speed. This allows it to track a variety of different fast moving targets, from speeding force users to air speeders.
WEAKNESSES
  • Cannot Move (fixed version): The fixed version of this turret, naturally, cannot move. As such, it is unable to avoid any incoming damage and must weather it.
  • Cannot Move on own Accord (mobile version): The mobile version will only move if ordered to by the units accompanying it.
  • Droid: Despite the measure taken to protect the 'Cabur' Automated Defense Turret against EMP/Ion damage, a powerful enough weapon will still fry it like a protato in a deep-fat fryer.
  • Ill-suited Weapon: Because the turret can only be equipped with matching pairs of weapons, occasionally it is possible that the weapon fitted is not suitable for engaging the foe at hand. In such a case, the turret will either not fire or attempt to draw said target's attention with admittedly ineffective diversionary fire.
DESCRIPTION
Mandalorians have historically turned to the use of droids to supplement their smaller number in comparison with enemy troops. Breshig War Forge Consolidated was no different when developing methods to aid Strill Securities in the execution of their tasks. One of the projects that came of this was the ADT-02M 'Cabur' automated defense turret. Designed by the company to provide additional firepower for troops in the field as well as serve as a installation and force wide small defensive turret replacement, the ADT-02M 'Cabur' is essentially a ground variant Manda tactical battlenet module connected to sensors, weapons and other ancillary functions.

As with the company's 'Gar Oya'krir' fighter, the 'Manda' node was modified so that instead of giving suggestions, it actually controlled the various main and ancillary systems of the turret chassis it was installed in. To aid the system in turning it's 'suggestions' into control signals, a specialized subprocessor was added to the system. Because of the requirement for the system to work on starships as well as in and outside groundside installations to provide point security, the ADT-02M also has the ability to link to an existing security net, acting as a sensor emplacement as well as a static or mobile defense, depending on which version is deployed.

The defense turret uses its sensor suite to make use of its weapons to the fullest extent, prioritizing targets that the weapon is most suitable to engage. It is possible, however, that the weapon systems fitted are not suitable for engaging the for at hand. In this case, the turret will either cease firing or attempt to draw said target's attention with what is likely to be ineffective diversionary fire. Mobile turrets will not move on their own accord, and will only move if ordered to by units accompanying them. Naturally, the fixed version of the turret is not able to move and as such is unable to avoid incoming damage. Additionally, being technically a droid, despite the measures taken to protect it against EMP/Ion damage, a powerful enough weapon can still cause significant damage to the ADT-02M.
