Apologies and regrets.

Hello all,

You may remember me from a while ago, when you kindly voted me into the position of leadership only for me to go completely absent, have my account nuked, and generally disappear into the ether for a substantial amount of time.

Firstly, I want to apologize for the abruptness of my disappearance and the subsequent chaos/disorganization/flared emotions that I may have caused in doing so. At the time it was my full intention to help drive the faction forwards and stay around for a long time, however IRL has it's fiendish little ways of completely wrecking any and all plans you make. I won't go into details about what happened or why I left, because I don't believe in bringing personal issues to the forums - suffice to say that it was sufficiently dire enough for me to abandon literally everything and focus on the most important priorities. However, with that said I probably should have at least said a fond farewell and attempted to sort things out before I had my account annexed, rather than leaving you guys in disarray and in the dark.

To those that my actions effected, I can only ask your forgiveness, and I hope that I can regain a modicim of your respect over the coming weeks/months/however long we're all collectively here for.

This community is built on the backs of the members, and becoming a leader of this community means you become responsible for those members who place their faith in you. In short, you are accountable.

I understand that this isn't very serious to some. That IRL will always supercede this forum. That this is a game, second to pretty much everything else. Carn has shared with me his reasoning in private and I agree that he took the right course of action on all accounts save one.

If you are accountable, please do your best to let other people know your status.

This is where the rules come into place, and they do act as a safety net for a major faction becoming leaderless. But I urge all faction leaders, especially owners, to reflect on how they would handle situations where their primary leader disappeared.
