OOC Note: Damascus Station is the main hub for the whole system, but because only a planet can be linked on the map, Damascus is not able to be linked there.

ANVIL AND HAMMER TOGETHER, PRAEDA SYSTEM (Anvil on the left, Hammer on the right, both orbiting on a shared barycenter together, forming a Lagrange point.)

  • Location: Just outside the southernmost arm of the galaxy.
    • Screenshot_458_1.jpg
  • Major Imports:
  • Major Exports:
  • Unexploited Resources: None
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: 1.1x standard
  • Climate:
    • Arid at the north and south poles
    • Inhospitably hot everywhere else
    • High winds of boiling hot atmosphere.
  • Primary Terrain:
    • Rocky, fairly stable at the North and south poles
    • Lava oceans with unstable rocky continents everywhere but the north and south poles
  • Atmosphere: Type IV
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: North Pole Habitation Dome.
  • Planetary Features:
    • Has two habitation domes for miner useage; one on the North Pole, one on the south.
    • The landmass is 30 percent “dry” continents with 70 percent lava oceans covering most of the surface.
    • Tectonic activity is very high on the surface, due to being so close to planet Hammer.
    • It has a powerful magnetic field that remains at the same polarity at all times.
  • Major Locations:
    • North Pole Facility: capital city of Anvil
      • North Hab Dome; a massive dome that protects the local inhabitants from the harsh environment on Anvil. Not many permanent living accommodations are housed here, but many, many living quarters arranged like army barracks are used to house the people that work here remotely from home. There are not many pleasures here to enjoy as most people live on Damascus Station on their days off, but there is a cantina and a retail outlet for basic amenities and food. NAKAIOMA Security Services also has an precinct here.
      • North Hab Dome Spaceport: The main hub of all civilian transportation for the North Facility. Common amenities and basic needs like food and water are shipped through this spaceport as well.
      • North PETROCORE ThermoTower: The main power plant for the North facility. There is a beacon positioned at the top of this tower to guide in speeders and ships coming in the dark. The landing pad here is used to bring in water for the power plant.
      • North NAKAIOMA Storage Facility: mining excursions are deployed from this location. Ores and minerals are stored here before being shipped to Damascus Station for refining. Also houses the commercial landing pad which is used strictly for commercial purposes, like shipping sellable product, and importing industrial equipment.
    • South Pole Facility: secondary facility to provide redundancy for the North facilities.
      • South Hab Dome: Almost totally identical to the North dome in concept. A massive dome that protects the local inhabitants from the harsh environment on Anvil. NAKAIOMA Security Services also has a precinct here.
      • South Hab Dome Spaceport: The main hub of all civilian transportation for the South Facility. Common amenities and basic needs like food and water are shipped through this spaceport as well.
      • South PETROCORE ThermoTower: The main power plant for the south facility. There is a beacon positioned at the top of this tower to guide in speeders and ships coming in the dark. The landing pad here is used to bring in water for the power plant.
      • South NAKAIOMA Storage Facility mining excursions are deployed from this location. Ores and minerals are stored here before being shipped to Damascus Station for refining. Also houses the commercial landing pad which is used strictly for commercial purposes, like shipping sellable product, and importing industrial equipment.
    • Miscellaneous Ore and Mineral Mines Around The Planet. Some of the mines have living camps on site to save on commute times for the workers, but some do not, depending on regional safety ratings on the planet. Tectonic activity is always a factor when leaving the North or South pole facilities.
POPULATION
  • Native Species: None
  • Immigrated Species: Composed entirely of refugees that have been taken in by the Elysium Empire
    • Humans (about 50%)
    • Chiss (about 10%)
    • Wookies (about 10%)
    • Trandoshans (about 10%)
    • Mon Calamari (about 10%)
    • Dorneans (about 10%)
  • Population: Insignificant
  • Demographics: Comprised of the species/races of the Elysium Empire, most notably:
    • Humans
      • Given that most civilized worlds in the galaxy are populated by at least some humans, many human refugees live here from many, many backgrounds, including Mandalorians and imperial descendants.
    • Chiss
      • Following the destruction of Csilla, many Chiss have found refuge in the Elysium Empire to seek a new beginning. The Chiss subculture in the Elysium Empire and in the Praeda System is quite prominent, and they are highly respected, as a rule.
    • Wookies
      • During the Bryn’adul reign of terror, the ravaging of Kashyyk led to many Wookie refugees finding safety amongst the other refugees of the Elysium Empire. Wookies in the Praeda System tend to bring mechanical aptitude and technical skills to this industrial environment.
    • Trandoshans
      • The bryn’adul crusade also displaced many trandoshans to this system. Trandoshans are considered valued manual labourers, and often take enforcement jobs.
    • Mon Calamari
      • More of the displace people from the Bryn’adul conquest, Mon Calamari are welcome in the Elysium Empire with open arms. They are considered to be a level headed group that contributes their organization skills and technical aptitude to the industry on Anvil and Damascus Station.
    • Dorneans
      • Yet another race, displaced by the Bryn. Dorneans are typically considered a labor class here, but some do tend to get into management and research-academia positions.
  • Primary Languages: Mostly Basic, but the cultural melting pot of different races bring many languages to this system. Some of them are:
    • Cheunh
    • Shyriiwook
    • Mando’a
    • Dosh
    • Mon Calamari
  • Culture: Industrious and entrepreneurial. As a rule, all beings that come to the Anvil system are seeking two things in light of the galactic chaos; A new beginning, and prosperity. For the most part, an individual is judged by their work ethic and their industrious nature before they are judged by their origins or demographic. Political discussions are enjoyed by the populace here, but are considered inconsequential compared to everyone’s desire to make a living.
Not many people that work on Anvil usually live here, though. Most people work week-to-month long stints of long hours before going home to their families for days off on Damascus Station. The living conditions on Anvil are considered too rough on a being’s health for someone to live here comfortably on a permanent basis.

However, there is a sub-culture of Imperial descendants that were present at the formation of the Elysium Empire that have come here to assert their position. Because of how the population growth of the Elysium Empire relies on continuous intaking of refugees, the percentage of Imperial population gets smaller every day. This has made the Imperials rather troublesome as they jockey for management positions and administrative roles to ward off their own growing insecurity.
A new religion has begun to emerge, originating from Damascus Station. This religion seems to revere and worship ships somehow, but is very enigmatic as to their exact dogmas. The new faith appears to be in its infancy and is growing into something that has yet to be properly defined.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Inspired and Influenced by the Constitutional Monarchy of the Elysium Empire
  • Affiliation: None
  • Wealth: High. The mining work here is very dangerous and lucrative. The industry here requires qualified personnel, and they are paid very well with generous benefits coverage.
  • Stability: Medium. Given that the vast majority of the populace in this system are displaced refugees from a variety of different cultures, most beings here are just grateful for what this system has to offer. Anvil is a remote planet, and there is much prosperity to be shared here. Therefore, the people feel safe, and the labor intensive work keeps them busy which keeps most beings from causing trouble.
The Imperial descendants, however, are known to cause trouble. As they are feeling threatened by the influx of refugees coming into the population, they tend to cause problems as they continue to assert their status in the Elysium Empire. They do recognize the importance of refugees to the Elysium economy, so they typically know not to overstep. Still, animosity can begin to build on both sides if pushed.
  • Freedom & Oppression:
    • Economy: Protectionism; This planet, being a colony of The Elysium Empire, has adopted The Economic system of The Empire, which is pro-free trade with limited protectionism.
    • Religion: Tolerated; As per Elysium Imperial Law, the inhabitants are free to practice whatever religion they desire, with the more dangerous ones being closely monitored. Word of a new religion that originates from Damascus Station has begun to surface here. Not much is known about this new faith, but they seem to worship ships somehow.
    • Cultural: Libertarianism; The Elysium Empire allows all cultures without threat of discrimination.
    • Social: Complete Freedom; Groups may meet at any time for any reason.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military:
    • Mercenaries protect The North and South Pole Habitation Zones. Mercenaries are provided by NAKAIOMA Security Services.
    • A significant detachment of Elysium Ships is based at Damascus Station.
    • The Elysium Imperial Fleet is Stationed in neighboring systems and would reinforce the planet if necessary.
  • Technology: Galactic Standard
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
See Praeda System Submission for prelude:

After Praeda system was discovered and the interacting magnetospheres were deduced to be a massive source of power, Loreena Arenais-Valhoun’s scientists endeavoured to explore the molten lava world of Anvil. It did not take long for them to find an unprecedented reserve of Beskar ore in the crust of alarming quantities. This prompted further prospecting my Elysium Empire geologists and they found the world to be insanely rich with a wide array of ores and minerals that were highly lucrative.

Since Mandal-Elysium Arms was tied up, putting most of their resources into building the massive Damascus Station, another big company was contracted to build the infrastructure on Anvil to turn it into a thriving mining world. This company was called NAKAIOMA holdings. They provide storage facilities, power plants, and security contractors so that the operations on this world run smoothly and everyone can make profitable returns. The Elysium Empire owes them tremendously on a moral level, even if NAKAIOMA makes a sizeable profit from operations here.

Now that the system has been opened to the public, this planet welcomes visitors, fortune seekers, and companies of all kinds to come and pursue wealth in whatever way they feel they can. Will this world be a place of profitable competition, or a cutthroat snake pit of ugly greed? Time will tell.

Upon the emergence of the Elysium Empire, the demands for Beskar steel began to skyrocket, driving the prices of the infamous metal to stellar heights. This brought in private mining contractors from all over the empire, whom began to strip mine the whole world of beskar deposits with a glutinous fury. Even though the Elysium Empire did not directly hold this territory at the time, it held the most sway over the region and controlled the resources through the proximity of Damascus Station. While the empire was wise to control who was allowed to extract the mineral and who was not, the empire failed to regulate the quantities of beskar that were stripped away. The mining operations went rampant, and bordered on the verge of physical violence between the companies, but ultimately, over-mining the world led to a plummeting of the commodity price on beskar steel. The planet was stripped completely clean of any and all beskar veins and it has no more beskar to offer whatsoever. Not one natural or unnatural deposit of beskar remains on the whole planet.

As for the beskar that was removed, the exchange price for beskar went so insanely low that the empire couldn’t even pay people to take it all. Part of this was due to the fact that the Elysium Empire refused to liberally sell the raw materials outside of the Empire’s territory, for political reasons. This led to a glut of supply in a very, very small market.

Word of this surplus of beskar steel eventually got out and outsiders - such as pirates and rampant Mandalorian clans - began to threaten civilized centres of the Elysium Empire. As a result, this led to the immense beskar reserves to be relocated away from civilized areas for their own safety. The entire supply was divided up and sent to dozens of secret caches throughout the galaxy. The locations of those caches is a very closely guarded secret. That information is very carefully compartmentalized and only Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch and Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson have access to knowledge of all of the locations.

Word of a new cult, or religion is beginning to emerge here, being brought in from the inhabitants of Damascus Station. Rumour has it that these strange zealots worship ships somehow…

Looks good overall, just some minor cleanup to do here.

  • The Important note you put at the top? I don't think you really need it. I'd just put Praeda System and Damascus Station in the links.
    • Even if you don't remove the note, you must add those links.

  • Region: This should be Outer Rim, properly linked.

  • Major Locations: per the template, please "include an explanation on each" major location. A sentence or two is fine, just flesh them out a bit. If someone lands at one of the polar facilities and reads this sub to find out what they're like, give them something to work with.

  • Immigrated Species: Mandalorian is a culture, not a species. Please remove it from the list.

  • Demographics: Instead of just repeating the species list, give us a breakdown. It could be by rough percentages, or it could be a few sentences describing who's in the majority, roughly how large different minorities are, and what kind of roles / housing / reception different species tend to get.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
