  • Name: PETROCORE ThermoTower™️
  • Material: Geothermal Energy
  • Location: Throughout the Galaxy
  • Affiliation: PETROCORE
  • Size: Massive
  • Population: Moderately Staffed
  • Profit: High
  • Accessibility: Strictly off limits to the public, any ThermoTower™️ that one happens to come across is accessibly only to PETROCORE employees and other authorized personnel. Given the widespread nature of the structures, the locations of them vary greatly, depending on the planet they are on. Some worlds have strict laws to protect their natural beauties or ancient city skylines from these kinds of hulking modern power plants, and so they will be constructed far from view. Other, more urbanized worlds will be lenient, allowing the public to see at least one or two ThermoTowers™️ on their morning commute to work every day.
  • Description: Large, block monoliths that can be seen for miles with an unobstructed view. PETROCORE's famous (or infamous) ThermoTower™️ has become a staple of civilized worlds everywhere. Lacking any form of windows on its exterior, the vast majority of the structure's outermost layer is composed of a whiteish beige material, which, depending on the world may be painted over to a dark black or navy blue. Maintaining only one small entrance, the ThermoTower™️ at first glance would appear almost to be impenetrable, or at the very least inaccessible. Simply there to do a function, than to house any form of organic life within its mysterious interior. At night, giant lights on the side of the structure illuminate it, showing off the PETROCORE logo emblazoned on each of the tower's four sides. In some locations, such as if a tower is near a high-traffic area, advertising space will even be rented out onto it.

  • Subterranean Pipe Complex: The backbone of any ThermoTower, the facility's sophisticated grid of interconnecting pipes, inputs and outputs, which all lead to the Central Conversion Chambers are the tools utilized to extract the planet's precious geothermal energy. Buried deep underground, only the very top section of this vast complex can be seen from within the ThermoTower itself. The process of constructing this complex is long and difficult on highly urbanized worlds, due to the issue of lower city levels and underground utilities. On backwater worlds however it is incredibly easy.
  • Central Conversion Chamber: Each ThermoTower holds two of these, one in the lower half and one in the upper half. This is where the complex processes of geothermal energy being converted into a usable, and stable fuel source occurs. Supervised by automated systems for the most part, on a weekly basis a team of organic workers will visit the facility to ensure it is operating smoothly. Although every ThermoTower located on a world regardless transmits its operational statistics to a central command module every day.
  • Ventilation Vectors: Visible from the corners of the structure's exterior, these Ventilation Vectors are responsible for the safe and controlled dispersion of the massive amounts of steam produced by the ThermoTower every hour. There are also several located on the roof. They appear as a series of large metallic tile shutters which can be opened or closed at any time.
  • Automated Operating Hub: Controlled and overseen by an intelligent virtual intelligence, each ThermoTower hosts a central computerized processing hub, where all of the data concerning the plant's constant operations is transmitted. Decisions are then made by the organic employees present with advise from the tower's virtual intelligence software. A large room, it is filled to the brim with state-of-the-art computers, sensors and communications equipment.
  • Employee Sector: To be found at the bottom of the ThermoTower, the Employee Sector is where the plant's organic staff workers are based. It is an all-in-one collection of cafeterias, sleeping quarters, sitting areas and work stations, where the plant's specialized employees conduct their specific roles.
  • Landing Pads: Used for regular deliveries of any required materials or transportation of employees. These landing pads jut out of the ThermoTower's lower half on the other side. From there they connect to the upper levels of the Employee Sector.

Medium: Protected mostly by automated security systems, such as cameras, motion sensors, and turrets. Depending on the location, a ThermoTower may also boast minimal or significant physical security as well. Including walls, fences, deflector shields for individuals or speeders, and private security forces courtesy of Nakaioma Security Services. This is largely relegated to crime-ridden, or otherwise unsecure urban worlds. Every ThermoTower comes equipped with in-built scanners to detect for incoming threats, and distress beacons to signal private security forces and local authorities to the plant's position in the event of an attack. If a world is particularly dangerous, the local government may even station its own security at the plant, to protect the planet's flow of energy.

One of the cornerstones of PETROCORE's vast operations across the galaxy, the ThermoTower is a sight often associated with harsh, industrial environments, or rundown, neglected neighborhoods. Ominously overseeing all beneath it, these gargantuan structures provide enough (relatively) clean geothermal energy, which is refined into ThermoFuel [FMO] to power entire continents of a world. Typically found in pairs, on worlds with immensely greater energy requirements, such as Coruscant or Skako, they can even be found in the hundreds. Blotting out the landscape with row after row of their standardized designs, these are informally known as ThermoFarms. The first ThermoTower was constructed on Hosnian Prime during the reign of the first Galactic Empire, as the energy corporation's parent; NAKAIOMA begun growing at a rapid pace with support from the Palpatine government due to its loyalty in both the Clone Wars, and during the transition of power. Designed to extract and distribute vast amounts of geothermal energy, to be used for a wide variety of purposes, ThermoTowers are often derided as loud, ugly and imposing. All of which may be true, but they still get the job done. Opening the door to widespread use of geothermal energy, thanks to revolutionary new extraction and refinement techniques, lessening the cost, increasing the affordability, and allowing greater quantities to be acquired. The ThermoTower, despite all of its negatives, is a true pioneer.

Your PETROCORE company listing lists five planets.

List them.

Those are Regional HQ locations, which are different, as it'd be inaccurate to describe its operations as solely restricted to those worlds. The towers are primarily meant to be a flavor piece, to be utilized on a wide scale. It was just easier to summarize it shortly, as to not consume the entire thread, and spend a significant amount of time on it.
