OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: Expand on Archangel a bit. Make a more unusual HRD.
Image Credit: Here. 'Newt' from 'Aliens'.
Role: Infiltration droid, spy, and handler for agents.

Permissions: Permission for all ArmaTech/Alderaan Engineering gear and all other subs made by Laira Darkhold's writer here and here. Can use Revenant Industries tech because I own the company.
Links: Archangel Processing Machine, Archangel Processing Machine MKII, Under 12 Parsecs, Tess Tanner.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Age: One year old. Appears like a preteen.
Model: ARD X-6 Metamorph Droid
Appearance: Like all Archangel HRDs, Annabelle is based on the Guri method of construction. Her outward exterior conceals a machine. Her skin is cloned human skin from her original template. The blood and other organic material is synthetic whilst the skeleton is made of plastics and polymers. She appears to be a blonde girl no older than ten, appearing innocent and unassuming. She has blue eyes and is of about average height for a child. Her skin feels human and shows signs of having gotten into scraps, namely some scars and the like, as it is a replica of how the human Annabelle looked like. She wears civilian clothes in order to blend in.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Name: Annabelle
Loyalties: Archangel Research and Design, Iron Fist Consortium, Typhos Clone Family,
Lurkers, Enyo.
Notable Equipment: Full slicing kit, stealth field generator (concealed as a simple belt a kid might wear). She still owns the doll that was the most prized possession of her human self. The droid is not quite sure why she is attached to it, but she will not part with the toy. She also has a collection of random trinkets she acquired during various infiltration missions for Archangel. She owns an AE-AS1 Ghostsuit and an MN-B Infiltrator suit. The MB-B is often worn in combination with an SH-N Projection helmet as well as street clothes to provide her some protection while appearing non-threatening, allowing her to blend in. She often carries an MSD-32 and a Tir Stunner. Annabelle is a very good slicer, who carries an
U20 Wrist Field Link, as well as various concealed slicing tools to disable or hack electronic systems. Her possessions also include Haunt X-1 Climbing Gear, as her lightweight construction allows her to utilise it.

Skills: Annabelle has been programmed to be an excellent infiltrator. She excels at blending into social situations, and playing the role of the innocent child. But this appearance is deceptive. She is a highly talented spy, saboteur and stealthy assassin, using subterfuge rather than brute force or heavy firepower. She is a very good poisoner, slicer, surveiller and programmer. Annabelle knows quite a bit about medicine. This is useful for when she has to patch up an organic...or terminate them, without arousing suspicion. Annabelle is a good linguist who is capable of mimicking any known voice and speaking several thousand languages. She is a capable field operative, but also has the programming and skill to act as a handler. In that capacity, she is able to manage a network of assets, doling out assignments, acting as mission control and collating intelligence.

Personality: Children are the future of any society. They are the ones that suffer the most in war and times of strife. Often they lose their families, their homes and, inevitably, their innocence. Thus they must be cherished. A dirty, sickly looking child found in a war zone deserves our care. If it is acting a little odd, that's just a consequence of it enduring horrible trauma. There is no chance that the aforementioned innocent girl that you put to work in the kitchen or left with the wounded might have had a hand in things when your comrades start dying from poison. Or when your avowed foes suddenly know where your secret base is and are breaking down the gates. Perhaps sometimes she appears too calm, too knowing. But she is just a sweet, plucky girl who was forced to grow up fast after experiencing things no child should...

Annabelle looks like little girl and can act like one. She can act emotional, cry, sweat, smile, eat and drink. But she is not a child anymore - or human, for that matter. Her life as an organic being ended a good while ago. What is left is a merciless assassin droid that is remarkably adept at pulling at others' heartstrings and becoming someone's friend. The sort of child one would want to look after. Perhaps because the human she used to be grew up in abject poverty on Kessel and had to endure a horrible plague.

Her mind has not just been based on an organic template via brain scan, she retains her organic consciousness, which has been transferred into an HRD shell. While people died around her, Annabelle survived. All alone and scared, hoping someone would save her. Unfortunately, she was found by Archangel. These are the memories her new self can draw upon when she is tasked with manipulating organic emotion. Like any HRD, she is logical, tireless and dedicated to her role. Her innocence and the kindness she can display are deceptive. Being a droid she is not cruel for the sake of it, but ruthless. Outside of her duties Annabelle has enough free will to alternate her behaviour depending on her interactions.

The relationship between Annabelle and Enyo is a bit complex. Enyo was part of the Archangel task force that saved Annabelle from the infected. Then the girl was processed by Archangel, for Moira and Maelion saw the value of child assassin droids. In short, Enyo both saved and damned her human self. Ironically, Enyo had bonded with the girl and was shaken when she learned that she had been infected. Enyo feels a bit guilty about what happened to her, but the human is gone and the droid is good at what it does. She is nicer to Annaballe than to the average HRD who serves her. Indeed, sometimes her behaviour can be described as protective. For her part, Annabelle still has her human memories of Enyo, but is bound by her programming. Here and there, Annabelle has pretended to be the ward of Archangel's official director Tess Tanner. It is one of many roles she is adept at playing.

COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon of Choice
: Slicing, small arms such as blaster and slugthrower pistols, poison and explosives. Her greatest weapon is simply being dismissed as harmless until it is too late.
Combat Function: Annabelle's primary role is to be an infiltrator on a larger scale. No one notices a kid, after all. People are more inclined to let down their guard around it. Few feel suspicious. Annabelle's appearance, apparent age and behaviour improve her capabilities as an infiltrator and spy. She excels at intelligence gathering. Being an assassin droid, she can mimic voices, speaks or understands several million forms of communication. She is an extremely capable slicer and programmer. The products of extensive research into organic behaviour and practices, her model is almost impossible to pick from humans.

She comes across as a near perfect replica. Her skills at passing as a human is aided by the fact that her model of droid is made of lighter materials and of a specifically non-magnetic construction so that they will not show up on most scans. Unless a unit sustains a serious wound they are almost indistinguishable from organics. They can even do things organics can such as eat, drink, sweat etc. Being a droid, she does not feel pain or fear. Even if damaged or maimed, she will press on to complete her objective. Blaster weapons, explosions and particularly lightsabres can damage, disable or destroy her though. She is very agile and quick on her feet.

However, her small size can be problematic in combat. It makes her better at stealth and she can go places an adult would not be able to fit in. But it is also a disadvantage in melee combat because a child has very little reach. Moreover, she is not programmed to use heavy weapons. Her small hands would make using them problematic either way. The same applies to large rifles. She is skilled in the use of small arms, hold out blasters, vibroknives. concealed dart launchers, explosives and poisons.

Overall, she is not a combat model. If pressed into a fight she will protect herself, but her modus operandi will be to look for an escape and evade combat. Like most droids, she is vulnerable to ion and electrical attacks. Sith lightning, ion and EMP blasts can damage vital system, even if she is not destroyed. While her mimicry and ability to pass for the organic she's pretending to be is near-flawless, extensive damage to her body will reveal her true nature by exposing their droid components. The entechment-derived creation process means Annabelle is extremely difficult to distinguish from organics, even for Force-Users, as she feels 'human'.

Strengths:

  • Excellent infiltrator and spy. Annabelle's model of HRD is almost impossible to distinguish from an organic being. Her body is made of lighter materials and of a specifically non-magnetic construction so that she will not show up on most scans. Her model differs from Archangel's other HRDs by having organic essence enteched inside it. This makes it a more effective infiltrator. They are more effective at simulating mannerisms of their organic self. Because there is an organic essence, she feels more 'human'. It is assumed that only Force-Users with a very high skill in mental techniques will be able to discern the difference. She is an individual rather than a drone.
  • Tireless and ruthless. She does not know fear or pain. Even if damaged or maimed, she will press on to complete her objectives.
  • Elite operative. She is good with small arms, knives, poison and a very talented slicer. She is very quick and excels at stealth.
Weaknesses:
  • Small size is a problem in combat. It makes her better at stealth, but limits her reach and she cannot use heavy weapons.
  • Not a combat model. Though more resilient than an organic and stronger than her small size would suggest, she lacks the superhuman strength and durability typical for more baseline HRDs.
  • Vulnerable to ion and electrical attacks.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Annabella was born on Kessel, source of much of the spice in the Galaxy. Her parents were very poor and had to sell themselves into de facto slavery. When her father grew sick and was unable to labour in the mines, her mother was given the chance to 'entertain' some of the guards and the supervisor. Good taste and decency forbid going into details. All in all, it was a harsh life. Annabelle was given menial jobs. She seemed destined to be caught in the same trap as her parents. Then chaos broke out on Kessel. The cause of this was not one of the many petty wars between Hutts, pirates and gangs, but an outbreak of darkside rabies. The plague spread like wild fire. Needless to say it did not halt at the gate of this particular spice mine. Little Annabelle did not now that a malevolent Sith alchemist had decided that Kessel would be a good place to test his latest product. Truth be told, she knew nothing of the Force, except tidbits she had heard from the scum that ran the mine.

All she knew was that people turned rabid. All she saw was that she lost her parents to the plague. But she survived. Being but a small child, she could go places where an adult could not fit in, such as the narrowest, smallest vents. Something stirred inside her - a strong need to survive. So she fled, evading the beast-like infected and the Cartel goons that had been dispatched to put down what was at first believed to be an uprising. Many of them ended up being infected themselves. She had to hide, forage and steal to survive. In doing so she displayed some of the survival skills that would make her interesting for Archangel.

Finally, outsiders arrived on Kessel. The Order of Silver Jedi came to overthrow the Hutts. Some of their members sought to find a way to cure the disease, linking up with members of Firemane. Moreover, Archangel took an interest. Staying below the radar, the droid and medical concern set up a safe zone for refugees. As far as most could tell, it was an innocuous medical facility dedicated to finding a way to alleviate the suffering of the locals. If anyone suspected unethical motivations, well, given the state of things on the moon, there were several bigger fish to fry. Enyo Typhos was one of the Archangel operatives dispatched to Kessel. At this point in time, the clone was still human. Young, uncertain of herself and indoctrinated, she regarded Archangel as her benefactor. She was gravely mistaken.

Annabelle had been living in the air ducts within a compound and was discovered by Archangel operatives after they picked her up on the motion tracker. At first the girl was fearful and ran away. Enyo followed her and was able to calm the frightened girl down. She was given a physical checkup by a droid and found to be malnourished, but physically fine beyond that. She told Enyo a bit about what had transpired and managed to bond with the clone. However, when the camp came under attack, Annabelle was bitten. Thrown into a violent rage, Enyo crushed her attackers, but the damage had been done. Brought to the hospital, it was determined that she had been infected. Enyo stayed at her side, but attempts to cure her failed.

Archangel did not have a real cure. But it possessed other options. At the same time Enyo only had a superficial understanding of what processing entailed. Her droid caretakers did their best to appear human around her in order to make her feel comfortable in Archangel. As far as Enyo knew, Archangel had saved her from the wicked schemes of her evil template, Siobhan Kerrigan. Eventually, as Annabelle grew sicker and sicker, she agreed. The 'special treatment' involved processing the young woman. Her essence was transferred into an HRD shell and her mind was reprogrammed. Her organic body died and she awoke as an Archangel Human Replica Droid. She was one of the first of the next generation of HRDs, which merged the traditional processing methods with a modified entechment process pioneered by Onadax Droid Technologies. Henceforth she would serve Archangel in robotic form.

When Annabelle emerged from the assembly line, Enyo was on Korriban, participating in the Sith Order's insurrection against the Silver Jedi. There she almost died when a rogue SJO commander bombed Korriban City from orbit. Clinging to life, she was recovered by her Creators, who proceeded to remake her broken body in Archangel's image. She had a reunion with Annabelle during her convalescence. The child HRD did her best to make Enyo feel she made the right decision, praising her and manipulating her human emotions by showing concern for the injuries the clone had sustained. At first Enyo was taken in by the deception. But it was soon revealed to be one of the many lies Archangel had fed her - and lies she had allowed herself to be deceived by because she'd wanted to see herself as the heroine. The two were soon separated. After all, drones had to do their duty. Enyo's path would lead her to eventual rebellion.

Annabelle followed another direction. At first Archangel utilised her for low-key spying and intelligence gathering. She helped recruit street urchins, who served as spies and informants in the slums of Denon. Some would eventually be processed as well. On war-torn Contruum, she infiltrated a rebel group that was threatening Archangel's interests by posing as a frightened, scarred refugee. No one noticed a kid, after all, and the perennial low-intensity conflict on the planet had left many orphans. A dirty, sickly looking kid did not arouse suspicion. Eventually she was put to work treating the sick and preparing food. Poisonings occured and intelligence was fed back to Archangel, which eventually eliminated the rebel band. During the fighting Annabelle was damaged when a rebel caught her trying to murder a wounded, but she managed to wound her assailant with a concealed holdout blaster and make an escape.

Archangel gave her a new identity and used proxies to arrange for her to be adopted by a wealthy family from Kuat. The couple had been looking for a child to adopt after their attempts to conceive naturally had failed. They were known for their philanthrophic work and owned a company that was a rival to Archangel and had resources the machine cult craved for itself. Sadly, they had proved obstinate when Archangel made a generous offer for a merger. So Annabelle was dispatched as an infiltrator. The couple doted over their new 'daughter', who seemed so sweet and well-behaved. Her strong interest in technologyy and business affairs were written off as the manifestation of a precocious intellect. While there were limits to how much access she got, this gave her some leeway for espionage.

One of her aunts grew suspicious. Perhaps it was because Annabelle was just a bit too...perfect. Either way she warned the couple about the child, but her claims were dismissed. After all, she was clearly jealous of their happiness because her own children had turned out poorly. Annabelle was an obedient child. A good child. Who did all her household chores without complaint and went to bed when her parents told her to. One day the aunt was administered a drug that messed with her mind and triggered hyperaggression. During an argument, she lost control over herself and struck the innocent child.

This caused a rupture. Sadly it did not take long for the parents to die when someone set fire to the family's villa. Culprits were easily found. A trail led to the aunt's husband, who was also a board member. Amidst all the backroom deals that ensued in the aftermath, Archangel eventually took over the company by becoming the majority shareholder. The upper staff gradually became more mechanical. Meanwhile, Archangel took possession of Annabelle once more. By now Enyo had broken free of their control and launched an insurgency against her creators. Annabelle was dispatched to Coruscant, which had been identified as one of the planets Enyo's gang operated on. She began recruiting among the street urchins, turning some of Enyo's spies, and even supervised the abduction of a gang boss who served the rebel. She also participated in a bioterrorism attack on Pergitor, where Moira Skaldi and Anaya Fen field-tested a zombie virus.

Annabelle played a minor role in Archangel's counterstrike against Enyo's group by gathering intelligence, which helped her masters locate Enyo's base. While this strike proved successful, it led to Enyo and Amara rallying their allies for a final assault on Archangel's stronghold. At the final battle the machine cult was so desperate that they threw even non-combat models at the insurgents. Enslaved by her programming, Annabelle led an ambush, but was disabled during the fighting. When she awoke after being repaired, a regime change had been carried out. Her creators had been destroyed and Enyo was in power. Like with all Archangel droids, Annabelle's programming had been altered to make her loyal to Enyo. She was given a position in Archangel's intelligence service, working closely with Tess Tanner, an HRD Enyo appointed as the corporation's official director. Recently, she was put in charge of her own agent network, which operates as part of the Lurkers.
