A Helping Hand - OP Dominion of Zonju V

Anya Venari

Star Queen Tirathana VII
The descent was a sobering matter. Wreckage littered the ground, and the survivors were crowded around the ruined spaceport.

As soon as the ship touched down, Anya was at the doorway, and heading down the ramp as quickly as possible. A couple of higher ranked people were waiting. One, with a Major's uniform, seemed to be in charge, doubtless.
He saluted. "Major Ric Anoleis, ma'am. I'm in temporary command of the militia in Zoronhed. The General and Colonel were both injured in the quake. You're from the Protectorate?"
"We are. We want to evacuate your people offworld until we can find out what's happening to your planet. Please tell me more."
Another man bustled up, a young man with the look of an academic. "I might be able to help there, ma'am. Professor Irwin Gand, University of Chandrilla. I had come out here to investigate some fascinating cave and canyon systems. I'm a Geologist by learning, have you seen my work on..."
Anya held up her hand. "Please, Professor, I do not have time to discuss research now. Get to the point."
Looking slightly upset at this rudeness, he sniffed. "Well, while I was exploring a long series of caverns to the north of this city I discovered signs of a great geological catastrophe millions of years ago. About that time the solar activity began to grow as well. My fear is that we need to evacuate the planet permanently. I don't suspect any of us will be around in thousands of years to repopulate here."
It might just feel like it if we let you talk, Anya said in the privacy of her own head. Outwardly she nodded. "Very well, we need to get moving. Corporal @[member="Kaida Taldir"], take a squad and begin setting up the seismic sensors so Commander @[member="Karen Roberts"] can begin to monitor activity. Lieutenant @[member="Noah Corek"] and Lieutenant @[member="Basaba Willamina"], I need you to get some control outside the spaceport. Get people organised and try and rescue as many as possible. Lieutenant @[member="HK-36"], can you please get things prepared for starting to shuttle the people up. Keep it orderly, you're in charge of the conveying and settling people in the transports in space. You don't need me looking over your shoulder, so I'm relying on you."

Finally she went to her long range comm. "@[member="Racket"], come down to the surface. I have a special mission for you. It involves explosions." She knew how to appeal to the little maniac.

"Well,I don't speak Mando, but I'm pretty sure I caught your name,Basaba Willamina? If I'm not mistaken." Noah said as he shook her hand. He noticed the abnormal strength she had and looked at her hands. "Crushgaunts, nice. I've never seen a pair of them up close, but I've heard the can snap a human neck like it was made out of cheap plasteel." "Lieutenant @Noah Corek and Lieutenant @Basaba Willamina,I need you to get some control outside the spaceport. Get people organised and try and rescue as many as possible." Noah heard Anya orders on the radio and clicked on his own earpiece to respond. "Copy that,ma'am." Noah said as he walked towards the pilots door and opened it. "Land on the outskirts and then relocate to were the Princess' shuttle has landed and start helping them to evac the civies."

@[member="Anya Venari"], @[member="Karen Roberts"]

"Yes, Princess," Kaida responded, apparently quite willing to leave Anya to her no doubt stimulating conversation with Professor Irwin Gand, heading off to do something useful instead of causing trouble as she did so often. She had soon gathered a squad of soldiers, kitted out in combat armour and armed with blasters - for even though this was a mercy mission, one could not be too careful - and carrying the seismic sensors and led them away from the shuttle.
"What a pisshole," one soldier commented. "Makes you wonder what a Jedi ever wanted here. We got Reavers to fight and we're out here in this wasteland. Mob could go wild any minute."
Evidently this trooper was a terrible cynic.
"Like you wouldn't be desperate if your home was getting wrecked," another one muttered. "Stop being such a dick and show some humanity."
"Right. I'll remember that when a quake hits us."
"Cut the chatter and focus on getting the equipment set up," Kaida interjected coldly - she was quite good at that. Being a frost elf came in handy for a change and she did not even accidentally freeze anyone. "Keep those trigger fingers under control, we're not in Bando Gora land. But be ready in case trouble hits." It always does, she thought.
Then one of the civilians, a man dressed in shaby rags, grabbed her shoulder, a pleading look upon his face. "Please, we're all going to die here. You must get us out of here now. I can pay you. I used to be a man of title and influence here, now I have lost everything." Before Kaida could respond to this plea a middle aged woman had pushed him out of the way, she was holding the hand of a little girl no older than ten years, who seemed terrified. "Take her, please, my little girl doesn't deserve to die here," she begged, almost shoving her towards the elf, the small squad soon found itself threatening to be surrounded by a throng of civilians, all begging and making demands, getting louder with any moment, even though the Corporal tried to make herself heard. "You must evacuate us now!" "Look at them, they're only here to save the privileged few. They don't care about us common people."
"Listen...direct, Ryan, put the gun down now!" she called out to one of the troopers, who, unnerved by the throng had raised his rifle and was aiming, a wave of her hand lowered it when he did not respond, then suddenly her dazzling lightsabre dazzled into existence, not striking anyone, just proving a point. That got their attention and abruptly the yelling stopped. Satisfied she switched it off and attached it to her belt again. "You'll get off the planet, but we need to do our jobs for that," she pointed towards Anya's shuttle where the vessel bearing Lieutenants Corek and Willamina was touching down. "Evacuations will proceed there. In an orderly fashion then, everyone gets off," she gestured to her squadmates and they made their way through the civilians, some of whom shot them hopeful, others hostile glances, moving to the coordinates to deploy the seismic devices, which were supposed to be set up at key locations in the wrecked town.
The town they travelled through for the most part lay in ruins. Buildings looked like a bomb had exploded, the road had been ripped open, people huddled together in ruins or improvised tents, some had lit small fires around which they gathered.

The legends said that when the Prophet's Holy Army laid siege to Agharta, the God Aurelius had shown his favour by shattering the defences of the unbelievers with earthquakes on the seventh day, after the warriors showed their faith by marching across the walls whilst being bombarded by enemy fire, scores of them dying a martyr's death. Thus it was written. Of course, the people of Artam had been wrong about a great many things. Which was why as far as Moira was concerned they were backward primitives who deserved to be assailed by pirates and slavers.
"An odd mission for us to be one, isn't it, ma'am? No Reavers to slaughter, no 'oppressed people' to liberate from evil warlords. Humanitarian mission of mercy," Lieutenant Broderick, a tall, lanky man with a moustache who wore his brown hair in a mullet, commented as his boss gazed upon a holomap of the planet, hands clasped behind her back. As usual her uniform was precisely pressed and immaculate. Blue eyes were like cold steel as she surveyed the holographic map and the computer screens arrayed on the bridge, feeding her with information and updates from the task force that had been deployed on the planet. The bridge of the Loki hummed with a flourish of activity as the working crew men of the vessel performed their tasks like cogs in a machine, but she paid them no mind. They existed to perform a function and beyond that were not relevant.
"Useful for public relations to bolster the Protectorate's image after being branded a 'militarist dictatorship'. Different execution, same purpose. Led by the Princess Anya no less. Ruler of Kaeshana should something happen to Queen Silaqui. Or perhaps the next Exarch if Alcori retires and they keep it in the 'family'," Moira commented, voice like polished steel, modulated in tone. She is a capable administrator, she acknowledged. Unless they make a military dictator out of that unstable battering ram, heaven forbid, she thought cynically. "Noblesse oblige at its finest."
"Ma'am, don't take this the wrong way, but frankly you're the most cynical person I've ever met," Broderick commented, apparently unable to resist getting snarky.
"Good. I am unique," Moira commented dryly. "Mission update?" she demanded from Birkoff, the young technician seated behind a computer monitor. Apparently the moment for small talk was over.
"Task force is on the spot and investigating. They're setting up seismic sensors to monitor activity. Troops are going to start shuttle the natives up. No hostile contact so far. There's a researcher down there, Professor Gand. Got evidence of a great geological disaster millionsof years ago. Thinks we might have to get them off the planet permanently," Birkoff reported. "Y'know, if I lived there I'd sure as hell want to get off. This is worse than Tatooine. At there's pod races there."
"It would be unfortunate. This might make a good prison planet," Moira commented more to herself. Of course the Tomb was on Belsavis, but that could also be a good smoke-screen to draw the public's attention. "Civil unrest?"
"We got some reports of sporadic violence in the city centre, under control so far. I'm sending out two Peregrines to fly over the town and recon. Little show of force in case some of the gangs get funny ideas. Once the situation hits the fan, guarantee there's gonna be a big storm on our ships," Broderick stated.
"Or a thresher maw suddenly appears. It would be unfortunate if something happened to the Princess while performing noblesse oblige. Exarch Alcori and Colonel Kerrigan would be displeased," Moira said flatly, the way she phrased 'displeased' made it sound apocalyptic, but then she had a very particular way of talking. "You there," she snapped at a crewer who almost jumped to attention at the sound of her voice. "Get me a cup of starcaf. Hot, well brewed." The crewer probably muttered something about not being a secretary, but quickly left the bridge, the agent paying no mind to his mumbling. No, she was not an addict to stimcaf at all and her habit of pulling all-nighters was totally healthy.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
@[member="Anya Venari"]
"Roger that, Crown Princess."
The droid responded on his commlink, soon enough his shuttle would touch down in the crowded spaceport, people would begin to swarm, moving around it, hopeful for rescue and way off of the planet.
The door to the shuttle opened, the large armored droid stepped out, his cloak trailing behind him, people pleading to him for rescue, for escape from the crumbling planet
He raised his hands, finally speaking up
"I am First Baron of the Protectorate, Iron Knight, Hache-Khe of Rae. I am here to rescue you."
With that the armored Iron Company troopers slightly pushed back on the locals, making a semi-circle in order to keep people from just rushing inside
"However, we will do so in orderly fashion! Women and children will come first!"
With that HK began ushering people in, letting the children and females of those gathered in the port into the shuttle while men had to wait. Once the shuttle reached its maximum capacity, he stopped the flow of refugees, motioning for the captain to take it up, his guards and him took a step back to avoid being burned by thrusters.

HK looked at the refugees, there was still a sea of people in front of him, he sent a transmission to the Siege Tower
"Get me patched through to all of our shuttle pilots at once, I shall give the orders in real time."
He added in after a second
"I am assuming direct control."

Anya Venari

Star Queen Tirathana VII
The prospect of @[member="HK-36"] assuming direct control was a little worrying, especially considering his rather quirky personality. However, Anya had chosen well in getting the most imposing of the group to act as traffic cop. Now at last they could begin the long process of evacuation.

For her part, Anya had a rather awkward meeting in a ruined building with the members of the planet’s leadership. Having been used to such meetings when she was growing up, she was able to get through it on autopilot. The details were hardly worth considering.
The consensus was that the leaders didn’t want to evacuate the planet, but had no other alternatives other than waiting out the storm. They however felt they would be best served by leaving themselves.

This mix of cowardice and stupidity Anya charitably put down to shock. Doubtless Ms @[member="Moira Skaldi"] would have something else to say about it if she heard.

As she exited the meeting, Anya dialled in her comm to those in charge of the various operations. “Status update; @[member="Kaida Taldir"], @[member="Noah Corek"]? Is Commander @[member="Karen Roberts"] receiving those seismic readings?”

@[member="Anya Venari"]

"We've reached the coordinates and are setting up the sensors, Princess. Commander Roberts should be getting data soon. No hostile incidents so far. But there's been looting. Some tremors," Kaida spoke into the comm after it beeped and she got Anya's message. By now the Corporal and the squad had been able to make their way through the large mass of civilians and set up the devices at key points. One of the troopers who had some technical skill was making calibrations, though his name was not Garrus.

Further in the distance one could see a house had caught fire and a few corpses lay strewn around in the streets, along with various objects and goods they had obviously stolen from the building, now lying around. A few militiamen patrolled, looking grim and antsy, though no one bothered to put out the fire. There was a strong wind that raged across the land and for a few moments the earth was shaken by tremors, still weak, but noticeable.

Moira did in fact hear about how Princess Anya's conversation had gone while she was observing the situation from the command deck of the Loki. Perhaps this was not the most heroic way to participate in the mission, but then Moira was not a certain woman-shaped battering ram who had a habit of death charging every skirmish. Besides, she frankly did not care about what other people thought.
"I commend them for their instincts of self-preservation. Perhaps we should let natural selection run its course, find a less dim class of 'leaders' and use their motley residence for a prison complex," she commented, looking, you guessed, it impassively. Did she have a different way of looking? Admittedly a certain Cora had made her smile a few times. "Deploy additional shuttles for evacuation to support Lieutenant HK-36," she ordered the Captain as she gazed at the map and sipped her starcaf, which by the way tasted heavely. "Do make sure that once we have nobly rescued these poor souls we make a holopic showing them express their gratitude to Princess Anya. Ideally have a few children appear."
"Public relations again, ma'am? I thought you were Military Intelligence or are you branching out?" Birkoff asked a bit cheekily. Moira pondered whether she should slap him for being talking back.
"I am multi-talented," she said deadpan. "Now do your job, boy."
"Ok, she is addicted to stimcaf. But have you ever seen her eat anything? Woman's always in her office," Xareke, a female Rodian, whispered to her fellow computer technician.
"She could just be playing it up. Maybe she wants to be one. Damn. I'm so gonna lose that bet, aren't I? Agent Liates will be happy," Birkoff responded while his fingers swept over the keyboard, transmitting commands to the shuttles and making preparations for when the evacuees would board the ships. Space had to be assigned, supplies prepared, medics would have to examine them for diseases.
"Yeah, when they build a processing machine and cull organics," Xareke said, rolling her large eyes. "'All organic must be processed'," she said monotonously, trying to imitate the Agent's unemotional speech patterns, the effect being rather comical.
"On the bright side, no one can claim we discriminate droids. We have an HK droid baron and Intel may or may not be run by an HRD and her second is one as well. Yay for robot freedom!" Birkoff declared, throwing his hands into the air.
"Until Clockwork happens again," Xareke muttered but then out of the corner of her eye she saw the cold glare Moira was shooting her and froze, then quickly went back to her work. "I'm sorry...ma'am...we were...."
"I do not care. You thoughts are irrelevant. Make yourself useful. Or I might decide to give you a modicrum of efficiency by processing you," Moira said flatly. Thus motivated the technicians quickly focused on their logistical duties and stifled any comments.

"Offloading troops and supplies now ma'am." Noah said as the hatch of the shuttle popped open as he,@[member="Basaba Willamina"] and the entire squad that were with them jumped out along with the other three squads from the other shuttles. "Alright,Rancor 1-1,1-2 and 1-3 your under command of Second Lieutenant @[member="HK-36"],Rancor 1-4 stay on station for fire support." Noah ordered as the three squads of twelve started to set up E-Webs. "Sir,rules of engagement?" A young Corporal asked as he crouched down behind a column. "Stay here and only fire if fired upon. Okay, Beta,Charlie and Delta squad, stay here and secure this area and set up a triage and evac zone. Lieutenant Williamina and Alpha squad, your with me,lets go see if we can find any survivors."

Roberts was busy on the bridge.

"How long?"

"Once they get the sensors up. Five minutes. Then they'll have everything."

"And the diagnostics? Do we even have anybody who knows what those numbers will mean?"

"It's a lot of data ma'am. We'll need..."

"I know. Get me Corek on the com."

Karen frowned. They were going to need a team. She commed @[member="Noah Corek"]

~ "Lieutenant Corek. This is Commander Roberts. I need four of your brightest men tasked to me here on the Solomon. Pilots, engineers, anybody you can spare. The sooner, the better. How copy?" ~

The deck commander swiveled in his chair to listen in. Apparently the SAAT Commander was turning this old ship into a real CIC. Now she wanted people to staff it.

"Roberts. The locals must have specialists? The Princess could get the people she needs. Doctors, scientists. People who can help make all this data make sense."

"Good thinking Specialist. Our job is to get the information to the Mission Commander so she can make informed decisions. Link me to her."

"Setting up the call now."

~ "Princess @[member="Anya Venari"]. This is Solomon Command. We will be receiving seismic data soon and relaying it to all teams. But we don't have anybody available who can make sense of it on our end. Recommend you get a team together of scientists and specialists from the planet's surface. They might be more interested in it then we are right now. We can get you the map. But we can't translate it. ...Over." ~

Karen was good. But when it came to understanding tectonic plate movements and geo-shifts? She had no idea what it all meant. Hopefully Anya could find somebody who did.

Basaba Willamina

Basaba had her weapons and slid the helmet on as she gave a glare letting the river rifle cock. It was going to be quite fun to shoot things when the time came or if need be she had her bes'bev to smack people around. Noah jumped out leading the way while issuing the orders. Which was good as she didn't actually know enough basic to tell them correctly. Broken mando'a/basic would not be the way to go. So her eyes listened for the orders as the clear order to not fire unless fired upon came which pissed her off but was fine. She would just have to wait for someone to attack.

@[member="Anya Venari"], @[member="Karen Roberts"]

"How much longer until you have those sensors running?" Kaida demanded from the technical trooper playing with the controls as she overlooked the scenery of the ruined wasteland that lay before them. No further incidents had happened, but her hand was close to her lightsabre. One could not shake off the feeling that the situation was hit the fan, simply because rule of drama demanded it. Reavers and pirates she could handle, natural disasters were trickier.
Especially since this one happened to be based on an element she did not have power over. If Ashira were real she would have made a complaint to her, but to her chagrin she knew that the Goddess had never existed.
"In a moment, running some calibrations," the trooper responded, typing in commands as if he did not have a care in the world and all the time he needed.
"You said that a few minutes ago. That data is important, get a move on," Kaida snapped, putting a certain degree of annoyance into her tone.
"These calibrations are very sensitive. We need these sensors to be properly configured, Corporal," the trooper responded calmly, apparently not feeling urgent at all.
"Calibrations. I hear the Colonel calibrates the big guns," one of the soldiers muttered, putting an emphasis on the world that sounded almost indecent. Perhaps he had played Galaxy of Fantasy, where a certain character who resembled a raptor was quite obsessed with calibrating. Kaida shot him an annoyed look, something she had gotten good at. "Keep your comments to yourself and your eyes on the road and do your job," she said airily, something any Eldorai was good at. "Status?"
"There, sensors are on," the technician declared triumphantly, giving her a cheesy thumbs-up. "Transmissions to Solomon Command begin now. All it takes is a little patience." For Kaida it could not come early enough, the quakes might reach them soon and getting caught in one was not high on her priority list. Things had simply been far too quiet since hitting planetside.

"Roberts,I need all my guys on station if I'm going to evac all these people." Noah informed Karen as he pulled some rubble off a family that had gotten stuck under the rubble. As they got up the youngest,a girl who couldn't have been less than nine, dropped a stuffed plushie. Noah went and picked it up and noticed that it looked very similar to Exarch Alcori. He had heard about these, the Sasori Plushie Line was supposed to be collector items and the Exarch Alcori model was very rare, now Noah could have easily kept it and sold it to the highest bidder but he wasn't that kind of person,so he ran back to the group and handed the plushie to the little girl, she smiled and her eyes grew wide as she grabbed the plushie from him and hugged it tightly against her chest so she wouldn't drop it again.

Good heavens. That just wouldn't do. Karen touched her chin to reply when the deck commander waved her away,

"No no. The Lieutenant has a point Madam Roberts. We'll need all our men on point for this one. But... Well? He didn't say anything about droids, now did he?"

"Oh my?"

"Look here. Let's bring up a few Astromech's to the Briefing Room and get the computer equipment all set up. Specialist Tear can coordinate from the bridge. Ensign? Show the SAAT Commander to the Briefing Room. I'll be right there."

"Good heavens. Thank you Deck Commander."

"My pleasure miss. The crew of the Solomon always has what it takes to succeed."

Roberts took her leave to begin preparations. She could use the droids to sort and catalog much of the incoming data streams. Maybe even automate the whole map updating process. Fascinating. Always a new challenge for Corellia's favorite researcher. Best to get started right away.

Anya Venari

Star Queen Tirathana VII
Anya received @Karen Robert's message in the partly ruined spaceport.
"Understood, Commander. I'll send up Professor Irwin Gand and his research assistant. He's been studying the planet's geology for years now."
She didn't mention that the good Professor seemed unable to shut up, and had been lecturing anyone who had been listening about rock strata and impact fissures. No one had been paying attention. His research assistant, a perky twi'lek girl named Zara, seemed immune to his babblings, seeming to shut down her ear cones whenever he started out of self defence.

"Good work, Corporal Taldir. Return to the starport as soon as practical for reassignment."

It was as Professor Gand was leaving the planet that Anya could feel it.

A slight tremor.

"But we were enjoying the splendid weather," Kaida quipped, apparently once again finding the time to indulge in terribly lame jokes. But then the commander did so as well and no one minded there. "We'll be right on our way..." No sooner had she spoken these words than that she felt the first ripples.

The earth seemed to shake as tremors, still weak, hit as ripples tore through it. One of the lampposts, already damaged, fell onto the ground with a loud thud, civilians, evidently fearing the worst, scurried out of the way, more took to flight for the spaceport.

"Seismic activity is increasing, Corporal," the tech soldier called out as his eyes were focused on the sensors.

"I can see that myself!" Kaida called back as they sought shelter, crouching on the ground or holding on wreckage while the earth rumbled, "Princess, looks like Mother Earth's in a foul mood again." Behind them a pillar began to break, then collapsed onto the ground. The windows from some of the already damaged houses burst and glass shattered. The roof of a wrecked warehouse caved in under the pressure and was torn asunder. The soldiers quickly scurried for cover amid the ripples, hitting the ground of a nearby crater.

HK-36

@Anya Venari
HK was working hard in the spaceport in the mean time, directing the civilians, and the additional shuttles that have been sent his way in order to help him.
With his quick management and quite a handful of shuttles assisting him, he was able to quickly transport the civilians from the spaceport into the ships in orbit, getting them to safety above the soil.
Then the tremors came, HK contacted Anya on his commlink
"Crown Princess, this is First Baron, we are finishing up evacuation, last civilians are boarding the shut-"
He cut off then, during another tremor one of the nearby pillars began to break at the base, threatening to fall down.

However, it was not one of the ships that the pillar was about to fall down on but a group of civilian children hurrying towards the shuttles.
HK sprang into action, pouncing in long strides towards the group of children as the pillar began to fall. The last image of him was his form outstretched and breaching to catch the pillar before the large stone structure has fallen on him and the children, no doubt Anya would be able to hear the loud crash through the commlink.
"Commander Iron Knight down! Requesting engineering team!"
One of the soldiers called out on the comm-links as they rushed to see what could be recovered

Before the soldiers could even reach the pillar, the structure began to raise from underneath. The children crawled out, coughing and dirty but fortunately alright as the pillar kept on raising.
Underneath, battered HK was on all fours, hoisting the stone pillar up on his back, slowly standing up to raise the large structure, he shielded the children from being crushed with his own body.
"Help him up!"
One of the soldiers called out as they all hoisted the stone monolith and threw it off of their droid commander, helping him up and carrying him back to the shuttle, it seems that he needed a bit of quick repairs to his legs, HK sent out to Anya on his comm
"I am alright, just a bit of a hiccup, the evacuation is complete."

With a beep of the com, Specialist Tear could be heard with hesitation.

"...This is the bridge. How we doing back there?"

Karen shuffled past a happy beeping droid and pushed the com,

"Oh. Just fine. Getting the boys pulled in and whirling took no time at all. ...What's our ETA on the Professor?"

"Mr Gand and his Staff are rerouted to us already. Once the shuttle arrives, we'll point him your way."

"Ah. Very good. Until then we'll keep broadcasting what we can get from the planet."

"Understood. Seismic data is incoming and were uploading the Map with new features as they arrive. Should be getting a pretty clear view of the Northern Hemisphere by now."

"Right. Well then. When the Professor arrives we'll see about making a few deductions. Until then? Best to just keep the team's updated with the Weather Report."

"Yes ma'am. Bridge out."

Karen sighed and removed her finger from the com button. Looking about her little workshop of horror. Astromech's plugged into computer terminals with lots of spare extension cords running about. Goodness. She sure could make a mess.

Anya heard the crash, and quickly moved to look down at the scene. She saw @[member="HK-36"] rise from the ruins and the children got aboard. That was good.

Still, they had finished the first wave, but there were thousands more citizens not just in the city, but in the scattered communities as well.

When Corporal @[member="Kaida Taldir"] appeared it was time to take action. “Corporal, do a flyover of the city. We are going to broadcast that the citizens should head for the spaceport. If you see trouble or people trapped, go in and get them here. I want to get off this planet before the next event hits.”

“@[member="Noah Corek"], I need you to get a squad together and head to the nearest villages to the east with a transport. Pick up the citizens and get them into space. HK will help you. Lieutenant @[member="Basaba Willamina"], you do the same for the western villages.”

“Commander @[member="Karen Roberts"], has the Professor arrived yet? Have you found anything useful? Do you know when the next event will hit?”

The ground shook, and the ruin she was standing on trembled….

Meanwhile Professor Irwin Gand had arrived aboard Karen Roberts’ ship. He busily peered at all the tech in there, but was dissuaded from touching the controls by Karen’s people.

“Commander? Irwin Gand, Corellia University. This really is an amazing ship. I really would like to study some of the instruments closer once this incident is over. Did you know that back in the university I helped design a molecular shear for the purpose of…”
He probably would have continued, but his Twi’lek assistant ‘accidentally’ stood on his foot so that he shut up long enough for someone else to speak!

Lieutenant Willamina you go back and take control of Beta squad and take Rancor 1-4 to help you guys out." It was then a militia Corporal came forwards with a questioning look on his face. "Did I just hear you were going to the eastern village?" He asked. "Yeah, why?" "Be careful, that village is where the gangs tend to fight fight over various disputes and with this disaster going on they might be banding together to get off this planet." He said as he walked towards the shuttle.
