Private A delegation of peers

With The whole system in the grip of a long awaited, long delegated change of military and economic structures, the planet of Eriadu was veritably abuzz with energy, it's airscrubbers working fulltime to remove the piled up pollution of centuries if not millenia of foul and misregulated industrial achievements, bankers and clerks scrunging up the numbers of the thousands of paths the moneyflow from throughout the galaxy would take, but where the buzz of energy and pressure was so high upon the citizens, it was not lessened within the halls of the immense Valkan Citadel, the home, pride and joy of House Nargath, who through a masterstroke of brilliance now not only controlled the planet of Eriadu, but had seized near unlimited control over the might of the Eriadu planetary system at large, making the current Viceroy, Credius Nargath, without a doubt one of the most powerful and influencial members of the entire Confederacy of Independent Systems, if not certainly one of the wealthiest and well-off members of that particular galactic faction.

However, now was not the time for celebrations or concentrations on the part of the confederacy, as sometime ago, not long after the collapse of a few of the cores factions, some new smaller factions had arisen in their place, one of the smallest among them, happened to be going by the rather elusive and secretive name: The Directorate and they were seemingly hungry for expansion and power. A healthy mix of ambition, if Credius might've said so, but they were yougn, their government and industry untested and in his own veritable opinion, the Viceroy of Eriadu saw it fit to guide these men and women with a steady hand, for any contact within the core was to be a pawn on his eternal game of chess, the game of war he had been planning for so long.

"Have the Valkan Guard stand at attention at the main entrance, you may send the regular militias and security agencies home for the day, Willhuf," Discussing matters with his younger brother was one of the tasks Credius was constantly tasked with, no matter if he liked dealing with his lazy and quite frankly unfit family member, it was a duty like any other. While sitting in his study, behind his desk and deep within a mountain of paperwork, the man seemed to be somewhat restless and tired at the same time. In front of him, splayed over the expensive worlykk wooden desk were datapads regarding several subjects of the confederacy, the Nargath and Zanareth holdings and even a few detailing the more precarious stability within various parts of the galaxy. After all, a man with ambition never had any rest.

It seemed that for now the most important news Credius was expecting, was a call for the arrival of those he was expecting...

Detro had been under his new position now, with growing interest in his own powers now that he was no longer limited behind the places he was once. He no longer necessarily had to hide his force sensitivity. Though, he often did simply out of instinct. He had met Credius Credius after he left a military before, in a fairly high position. Attempting to find somewhere his species wouldn't be as noticeable, as his lack of aging became more apparent over time, but which would still over him the right amount of position to sate him. It was in the trials that he was shown just how powerful Credius really was, and the type of man he was behind what many didn't realize was essentially a mask. Detro was familiar with masks, he had worn one many times. But this was different, the power behind it was stronger. The true face, more sinister than his own.

And yet, that same man had risen him to a rank almost immediately after being taken to a private room, and shown the truth, after initial suspicions, and being seen as force sensitive himself. Reasons could be made for the why Credius chose to entrust, however wrong that word might be, Detro with the position of interim centurion maximus. But it didn't really matter did it? Detro had no reason to leave, if Credius died, Detro could either move up or move on. If he didn't, Detro could retain a position of rather notable power. And continue to learn ever more in the force, and, perhaps, to partake in the soup.

Here he was, in full armor, the Legionnaire Heavy Elite Armor LHEA mk I, a Vaars in his hands, looking over the troops. And intending to make his way closer to Credius. In spite of his greater age, Detro had so far remained loyal to the orders of Credius Nargath. Time would tell just how well that would work out for him. Whether success or failure.

Eriadu , home to one of the most Influential and well known members of the CIS , Credius Nargath. Shortly after receiving his invitation , Maracel had collected nectcesary info on the Viceroy of Eriadu discovering of his past ties to the Corporate Protectorate and the issue of who truly controlled the Xa Fel Shipyards. Credius had supplied the Directorate and the Grayson Imperium with state of the art warships to aid in the military buildups of both Factions and given how important his support to the Directorate was , the Director decided to head for Eriadu himself rather then send his cousin to represent him.

Already Maracel was partially worried about the future relations between the Directorate and the CIS , though the Confederacy was neutral in most Galactic Affairs provoking them was unwise as shown with the New Republic and how they met their demise when provoking the CIS. The meeting with Credius reassured him but given that the CIS and the Directorate fought over Atrisia , Maracel had to keep a close eye on how his faction interacted with the CIS as one wrong move meant the end of the Directorate.

As Maracel Yorkell's shuttle jumped out of hyperspace and arrived in orbit of Atrisia , the Director took out a datapad and began to check on the additional info known about Credius Nargath. The Viceroy appeared to be associated with the Corporate Protectorate in the passed and from his research left the Corporate Protectorate some time when Savari Sal II came to power as it was noted that there were some disputes between both men. Something the Director could use to his advantage. In addition Maracel found out that Savari Sal II never owned the Xa Fel Shipyards and that Nargath had more control and influence over the shipyards then Savari Sal did in which was great news as he could use thid further for his advantage.

As he finished reading the info on the datapad , Maracel Yorkell's Personal Shuttle arrived at the Valkan Citadel an immense and magnificent complex home to Credius Nargath , as Maracel's shuttle circled around and landed on a landing platform nearby , the Director soon came out escorted by 6 Directorate Elite Guards whom served as the bodyguards of the highest ranking officials of the Directorate. As he was met with a few Guards of the Citadel , Maracel introduced himself.

"I am Maracel Yorkell II , the Director of the Directorate and i have been invited here by your Viceroy Credius Nargath to Eriadu for a meeting with him."

As Ben Craig was moving up the Directorate hierarchy ladder, he was becoming acquainted with more and more powerful and influential people. Viceroy Credius Nargath was one of the more powerful and wealthy people Ben would meet and get to know. Credius, like most powerful and rich folks, lived on an exotic wealthy planet. Eriadu was an amazing planet home to many unique animals and plants.

Ben’s ST-149 roared as it entered Eriadu airspace. Ahead of him he saw another shuttle land. He followed suit and he landed on a pad next to the other shuttle. Ben emerged and his Vernichten troops followed behind him. He looked to who the other shuttle held. It was the Director himself accompanied by Directorate guards. Apparently Ben wasn’t the only one who wanted to show power. As the Director introduced himself to the guards Ben spoke up,”I am Admiral Craig of the Directorate also to meet with the viceroy.

As the expected guests were arriving, a few of the Valkan guards that had replaced the regular security forces at the gate looked at them with great care and caution. The difference was obvious, these Valkan Guards were far more apprehensive than the regular militia, better equipped and better trained as well. Compared to the Director's guard, they posed a stark contrast, with their unblemished white armor, yet well-trained soldiers understood eachother better than two politicians ever would, with the Valkan guards at the gates giving the director and his guards a silent nod prior to checking the datapads and motioning the party to follow them as they would lead the director and his men to the grand hall of the massive palace complex.

With Ben Craig arriving, another pair of guards walked towards the new incoming shuttle, giving a glance to their colleagues that were already leading the Director to the interior. The same set of pauses happened, with the Valkan guards checking their datapads and counting the number of arrivals and assessing the threatlevel they posed, before again the information was being sent to the commanding officer on duty, which was non other than the interim Centurion Maximus Detro. When all was said and done, Ben Craig and his men were lead towards the grand hall as well, where all of them would be meeting none other than the Viceroy's brother Wilhuff Nargath.

"Centurion Detro may I count on your skill to make sure there is no conflict within these halls?" Baron Nargath, younger brother to the current Marquis of the noble house was clearly not in his element, being fidgety with a silken handkerchief while beads of sweat appeared on his brow, which he quickly whiped off with the aforementioned piece of embroidered silk. The man was shorter and more stout than his older brother and clearly less adequate in all matters political. "Oh dear, I really don't know what to say to these people, why did my brother tell me to do this? I'd rather be sitting in the gardens with a good pint of ale or have some fun on Erinar...with all this studying, designing and this unhealthy obession he seems to have with this force thing, I just can't....oh...oh dear, they've arrived, oh they seem to have soldiers with them, really, I don't like this."

With hesitation and some certainty of nervosity in his voice, Wilhuff stepped forwards to greet the arriving delegates of the Directorate. However, despite his nervosity and hesitation, he managed to make a graceous bow and a most graceful greeting towards the arriving delegates. "Esteemed guests, my brother, the Marquis of the House Nargath has granted me the honor of being your guide, may I request that you take no more than two of your personal guards with you, as it would not be befitting for a guest to take with them an army to intrude upon their host's private residence. Centurion Maximus Detro will be more than capable of keeping you safe should anything unexpected happen."

With that being said, the baron flanked by four Valkan guards motioned the Centurion Maximus and the guests to follow him into the South wing of the complex, one of the wings least traversed by both guests and even the Valkan guards. While the west wing was regarded as the home and offices of the Valkan Guard, the East wing was seen as the private living quarters of the Marquis and his family and the northern wing was mainly used for the frequent parties hosted by the House, the South wing was generally the place were one could find the expansive library and archive of the house nargath, but also where the Marquis held his political office and where there were conference rooms and even a seperate court for hearing the people's issues in regards to themselves or the government, one of the more ancient places within the palace basically.

"Here we are, please enter," The Baron gave a nod when opening the double door to a large room with a long table, plenty of comfortable chairs, a drinking cabinet, a large screen and a large library filled with holocrons containing a lot of information on political discourse and policies on eriadu. "The Marquis will arrive shortly."

Detro nodded to Credius Credius as he approached. Answering his question with a quick, "Yes sir." in regards to keeping things secure. He continued going over what was given him by the other guards, the types of people they had here. Their numbers, and their ships. He ran over in his head quickly the precautions and protocols, potential strategies, in the rare case that Credius, Wilhuff, another, or the Citadel was a target. Including making sure he knew where all the nearby Valkan Guards were, and soldiers, to ensure that if things did turn rough, they'd outnumber the enemy in skill and firepower at a moments notice.

It was, of course, a precaution. And not actively implemented. Detro himself had over a century of experience to call upon and plenty of time in combat as a commander and as a soldier. If it came down to it, he was ready to fight the enemy at the forefront. Especially in a location like this. He stood like almost a moving statue beside the Baron, staying near him at all times should his aid be required.
"Sir we will protect you at any cost. There is no need to worry." He assured him. He would say no such thing in regards to political matters, but "guard" was literally in their name.

In spite of the mans nervousness, he did do somewhat well. Detro watched both Ben Craig Ben Craig and Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen very closely, along with their guards, behind his visor. He had to grin slightly at the precaution of requesting they take only two guards. It was fairly well put. He gave a nod of his head and a quick,
"Yes sir." when the Baron mentioned him being there to keep them safe. Of course, they did not take priority. But he would still take them into high account, should it be necessary.

They'd be on their way soon enough, he'd keep an eye on the entire group as they did. He had more leeway for looking at them freely due to his position. Allowing him to ensure the maximum efficiency of both the Guards themselves, and that the two visitors had indeed brought only two guards with them.

He imagined the Baron would be quite happy to get this over with as they arrived. Detro would step to the side, at the moment, remaining so that he could reach most points of importance with relative ease. Quiet, but ever listening. Not just to their words, but potentially, to thoughts. The passive thoughts of an average person were an easy thing for him to read, he'd been doing it his entire life and it had gained him many rises in rank. It was not invasive, because sometimes people could recognize that. Rather, it was just like keeping an ear open. Waiting for something interesting to hit it.

Soon after introducing himself , the Valkan Guards of Credius Nargath soon led , the Director and his men to the Grand Hall of the massive complex , in which the Director was still fascinated and impressed by , seeing it as a revelation of how powerful , wealthy and influential the House of Nargath really was and given that the Director had managed to gain the attention of Credius the Directorate could gain a valuable new ally in their quest to bring down the Corrupt Republic just as the CIS had taken down the New Republic before. Soon the Director would be joined by Ben Craig Ben Craig as they were soon greeted by the Viceroy's brother Wilhuff Nargath

"Esteemed guests, my brother, the Marquis of the House Nargath has granted me the honor of being your guide, may I request that you take no more than two of your personal guards with you, as it would not be befitting for a guest to take with them an army to intrude upon their host's private residence. Centurion Maximus Detro will be more than capable of keeping you safe should anything unexpected happen." said the Baron.

With that said. Maracel signaled 4 of his Guards to head back to the Shuttle while , he and Ben Craig were brought into the South Wing of the Valkan Citadel as they were soon brought into a room , a large room with a large table , comfortable chairs drinking cabinet, a large screen and a large library filled with holocrons in which Maracel could only imagine what information was held within those Artifacts. As Maracel , Ben Craig and their guards entered the room , the Director sat on one of the chairs with his Guard nearby as the Director now awaited the arrival for Viceroy Credius Credius

The baron simply made a graceous bow when he had lead the guests to the appointed conference room, leaving it all in the capable hands of the Centurion Maximus to make sure that nothing would happen to the guests while they'd be waiting for the arrival of the host of this momentous occassion in which the directorate finally came face to face with the man behind the economical might of the N&Z umbrella corporation and the Nargath Holdings group. Though it took perhaps a bit longer than expected, those who were force sensitive within the room would be able to feel the temperature dropping, the air thickening as something drew closer, as if the room was suddenly being swallowed up, the doors immediately opened to reveal an impeccably dressed tall and athletic looking man who looked practically half his age if it wasn't for the fact that his head was adorned by a mane of silver gray hair, slickly combd backwards.

"Gentlemen, how good to see you've arrived in good health," The corners of the marquis' lips curved slightly upward in a faint smile as he walked over to a small cabinet next to the larger shelves containing the holocrons, opening it to reveal it to be a drinks cabinet. "So...any of you care for a drink? This also means you as well, my dear Centurion Maximus, after all...this 'should' be a rather relaxed meeting."

Showing a particularly eerie grin at the men present, the Viceroy of Eriadu calmly looked at the guards brought in by the directorate's officials, letting out a soft chuckle followed by a clack of his tongue against his teeth. "And here I thought we were going to meet in full trust and joviality to one another," Letting out another chuckle, Credius poured himself some strong smelling amber liquid into a crystal glass with a heavy base, raised it to his nose to take a whiff of the liquor's aroma and then took a sip from it. "I figure you are aware why I have arranged for this meeting, no?"

The Valkan guards led the Directorate contingent to the Grand Hall. Ben wasn’t much of an architect, but the designs of the building were beautiful. They continued their journey but were shortly stopped by a man. Ben listened, and dismissed his troops, he was sure the Viceroy was not planning a trap.

The Director also told some of his guards to go back to the shuttle. They then proceeded to enter the hall. If the outside of the hall was beautiful, the inside was even more fancy. Ben looked in awe at the paintings and luxury furniture. They stoppe at a long conference table, and the Directorate sat waiting for the viceroy. Within a matter of minutes, the doors flew open and a tall well dressed looking man emerged. The Viceroy seemed nice enough. Ben nodded to the Viceroy. He would wait for the Director to speak first. Proper military protocol coming into play.

Detro stood calmly as the situation moved onwards. Fairly soon Credius Credius made his way inside, Detro had a bit of an instinct to go right for the militaristic response when around those of higher authority. Though, this apparently was not indeed the intent of the man. As not long after greeting them he invited Detro to have a drink as well. There was a little pause as he had to readjust his mindset, "Sorry, yes, thank you sir." he said removing his helmet and holding it under one arm as he stepped forwards. Of course, those probusci were well hidden as they always were in his cheeks.

He was perfectly fine with being at ease around people of authority. In spite of his nature to be militaristic, it was a necessity to understand the ability to be casual in his former position. And so it came naturally that he was willing to smile right along until things might become serious again. It sometimes amused him, how species of such short lifespans could achieve so much in so little time. Then again, they were perhaps a good deal more risky than he was. And great risk can bring great reward, if they succeed that is.

A single shuttle returned to normal space in the Eriadu system, transmitting its clearance codes before it gracefully banked and descended toward the planet’s surface and the gathering that was currently taking place. The shuttle pierced the atmosphere with relative ease and the flight to the Vicroy’s estate was quick. When the shuttle finally set down, Razanil quietly rose from his seat and made his way to the loading ramp. He did not care for these kinds of political games though he could play them as well as any. Taking but a brief moment smoothing out any wrinkle in his attire he then slowly descended the boarding ramp his footfalls measured, quiet everything about him spoke of a quiet confidence. From the viewpoint of security, a lone chiss emerged and slowly descended the ramp. He paused at the bottom of the ramp and took in the scenery, his red eyes both studying and appreciating the view, in everything there was purpose after all.

Turning his attention back fully he made his way forward to the waiting escorts sent to greet him and show him the way. He had read in detail of the man that was Viceroy of Eriadu on the way over and even before. By all account their host was a very calculating individual and in truth he may be on par with some famous Chiss in that regard. However, he also had a temper that at times was short lived but at other times spanned the lifetime of an individual, though those lifetimes tended to vary in length based upon the Viceroy’s anger. In short it was his opinion this man Credius should be handled delicately as an ally he would be invaluable and help to launch the Directorate as a major power among the galaxy, yet at the same time this man as an enemy would utterly crush the fledgling Directorate with relative ease. In his own thoughts he wondered if his colleagues could manage such a man, in truth he had his doubts but only time would validate that one way or another. When he was finally brought to the group by his escorts he simply nodded to the gathering, his eyes scanning the opulence of the room which he found himself. The grandeur did not escape is notice, this single room and the building they stood in as well as the territory around told him all he needed to know, everything was beneath this man meaningless save those things that were useful to him he felt very much a Loth-wolf staring down a rancor, suddenly he was quite ready to engage this man in conversation as much would be revealed.

Before the gathering he stood his appearance the typically blue skin and equally disquieting red eyes fell over each of the men gathered, he was dressed like his Admiral denoting his service to the Navy but with less rank insignia. Some of the gathering he recognized most he did not. Giving a quick salute to his superiors he then spoke “My apologies for my lateness. Thank you for the invitation Marquis.” Excuses were for children or incompetents of which he was neither, if pressed he would answer otherwise, he offered no more detail. He also was careful to use his proper title as the planetary governor and not his title bestowed upon him by the Confederacy, he expected it would carry more weight. He bowed slightly but only just enough to show respect but not to show weakness before such a man.

Chris listened to his ship's comms and heard the chime indicating a transmission from a ground control tower, "Eriadu ground control to NFS Red Scion, you are cleared for landing" the pilot glanced over at him and Chris nodded, "Take us down. It took us long enough to get here."

The Corvette landed softly, landing gear seated firmly on the landing pad. There wouldn't be a grand procession or even a local escort, this was business plain and simple. The ramp dropped to the ground, and out marched Chris in Red Giant ceremonial dress, his strategic officer, and his sergeant-at-arms. They walked wordlessly from the platform towards the designated meeting place.

One thing that was immediately noticed by Chris's sergant-at-arms was the Chiss a Directorate admiral's uniform, and the armsman's hand subconsciously moved a little closer to his sidearm. "Don't draw on him, just keep an eye out. He's Chiss, just because we've fought for a few generations doesn't mean you can kill him on the spot." Chris mumbled to the sergeant, "We want to make a good impression on the Director. Remember, diplomacy, not pacification."

Chris surveyed the crowd, the perfect mix of politicians and officers to make any interaction stiff and awkward as centuries of divergent etiquette clashed. Almost fun.
