Since their liberation by the Underground, the worlds in and around the Kathol Outback have banded together in a formal union. What form their government will take is still a matter of debate, but one thing is certain: the councils and leaders of these worlds want safety as much as they want independence. That means the rule of law.
To that end, the Judges have been dispatched to investigate allegations of assault and piracy on the part of certain disreputable spacers. There's something of a conflict of interest here. Where civilized space has the Jedi Knights, the far Outer Rim has the Judges. Like the Wardens of the Sky, the Judges roam the spacelanes and keep a low profile, guarding the frontier against raiders and tyrants. The Judges carry legendary guns alongside their lightsabres, and pilot tramp freighters instead of sleek fighters. You’re more likely to see a Judge in a dusty coat than anything like Jedi robes.
In essence, they're being sent to bring in people just like them, people they've called friends; some are even Judges themselves. Both sides have ties to the Underground, a shared history, even closer bonds, but that doesn't mean the pursuers will let their task slide any more than it means the pursuers will come in easy.
Objective A: COWBOYS AND BANDITS. Decide whether you're one of the people who's been accused of crimes and is on the run, or whether you're one of the people who's chasing them. Try and pair up: one or two Judges to one or two fugitives. The bulk of the pursuit will probably take place on speeder bikes, swoops, or even podracers, in the ruin-choked canyons of Zonju V. If one of you catches another one, put them on trial right then and there. Have fun with the details of the charges. And if another one of you wants to hop in as the defense, go right ahead. Frontier law at its finest.
Objective B: FRACTIOUS LOCALS. The King of Zonju is a suspicious old cyborg named Barthemos. Representatives of the Kathol planets and regions are being hosted at Barthemos' palace in the dusty stone city of Zoronhed. Help them persuade the king to join the new union, and quietly investigate potential swoop-gangster connections among his courtiers.
Objective C: GOLD RUSH. Miners have struck aurodium in a hot canyon far south of Zoronhed. Business is booming, mining permits and land are cheap, and corporations are flocking to the area to provide relevant products and services. (5 posts' complete story for a Major Faction contract; 15 posts' complete story for a Major Faction sponsorship.)
Objective D: UNEARTHED ARCANA. The ruins all over Zonju V have been stripped and looted many times over the millennia, but there might still be something worth discovering. Certain similarities have been noted between Zonju architecture and ancient Rakata or Sith architecture. Investigate the possibilities and come to a conclusion - is there a connection?
Objective E: Bring your own objective.
