    Welcome to
    D A R K W I R E

    BLp0J9h.jpg
By the year 844 ABY the largest criminal empires the galaxy had seen were battered, they had exhausted their resources. Decades of brutal underworld warfare had crippled their networks and resources. Syndicates and cartels toppled and although a handful tried to rise up from the ashes, none succeeded. Former enforcers and hitmen turned to bounty hunting, escaping what could be a needless death in another fly-by shooting. Smugglers flew to the Outer Rim, taking jobs from the Outer Planets Alliance while Pirates flew into the Unknown, reaving across the stars. Slicers went deep underground, hiding where none could find them. Hidden behind reinforced encrypted firewalls.

What was left behind was the everyday man, woman and droid. Those who during the fallout didn't have the credits to buy their way offworld, instead surviving years of turbulent gang warfare as small time crime lords vied for power. The wars of galaxy-spanning empires made such livelihoods harsher. When the Sith took Etti IV corporate bigwigs didn't like being pushed around or suffering from trade embargoes placed on Sith worlds. A motley crew of corporations moved their business to Denon, operating from the ecumenopolis world. They quickly established influence in the local government and soon bought their way into global governance. They ruled the planet with an iron fist and cracked down on the underworld.

By 858 ABY, the Corporate Authorities of Denon had been established. Big suits fight for power, market forces merging on one another. Unable to compete openly they resorted to the underworld, fighting proxy wars using former gangsters, information brokers and muscle to push competition out of the way. A crime syndicate has risen in this competitive environment. One that manipulates the market for their benefit, accepting credits from corporate institutions to do their bidding, all the while being oppressed by the people they work for. Corporate Security, CorpSec, breathing down the neck of the Underworld.

Today, with years of expansion and gently massaging of the profit margins, the Corporate Authorities is the most profitable it's ever been! Formerly insular worlds have transformed under corporate rule, exporting more than just tourism or agriculture, and markets have flourished, enhancing the strength of the voucher currency. It truly is a haven for businessbeings and free enterprise, despite some more recent setbacks from an ever-growing underground movement. All citizens can rest assured that the elite ranks of CorpSec and their clever direction under the ever-savvy Direx Board will soon quell the turf battles on Altier, the pretender movement on Belazura, or the rumblings of civil strife on other worlds. By investing CorpSec with the power to make and levy judgement, they will quickly bring any restless elements to heel, like Darkwire.

Darkwire is a criminal syndicate operating out of Denon. It's primary focus is market manipulation. They operate under the iron fist of the Corporate Authorities that now govern the sector. Darkwire is the underworld home to mod-junkies, fixers, enforcers, slicers, information brokers and assassins.
  • The Darkwire network operates within the political reach of the Corporate Authorities.
