Not two days after the brutal murder of Senator Drigg'bgg'igg'lgglesen of Anaxes in the Republic Senate, the amassed forces of the Republic and Jedi descended on Anaxes like carrion birds feasting on the dead. Reports are fuzzy but it is said that the local forces are putting up a stiff resistance against the combined Republic/Jedi forces. Unconfirmed reports of civilian shelters being bombed or set on fire have been reported. It is estimated that the dead and injured would be in the millions. Without any outside intervention the planet would fall to their new invaders soon.
Packed refugee ships carry horrible tales of pursuit through space. They were promised death and slavery for trying to flee the conquest of their world with roughly 2 in every 5 refugee ships destroyed or captured before they could escape.
During the Old Republic, member planets were not forced by military annexation but it seems that the past has no meaning to this New Republic, which seizes new worlds by force after they murder the representatives in the Senate. These are truly disturbing times. Who will stand against this darkness that has infected the Republic and the Jedi?
