Sorr Kortu

Socially Awkward Smuggler
Location: Oovo IV

"Ah yes Oovo IV," Sorr moaned landing Tiaza's Purr onto the Spaceport. "A place that's always been last on the places that I want to see."

Sorr had been on many terrible planets but none of them had the sterling reputation that Oovo IV had. At least with Nar Shadda, Brinna Dara Brinna Dara 's boyfriend ran a bar where he and the crew could hang out and drink. Kween did have some good casinos that he and Porro Tanau Porro Tanau went to and had had a good time. But Oovo IV? It's nothing good, everything bad. Battle hardened criminals placed in one facility. Mass murderers, drug pins, Bounty Hunters and other scum run this little rock located in the Outer Rim.

Due to the overwhelming amount of Brotherhood War Criminals being placed on Oovo IV, Sorr was called upon to transport a criminal only known as Prisoner: THX 1137. The Warden was paying Sorr handsomely, so he was one to complain but still going to a place filled with criminals?! "Okay I'm a criminal," Sorr said as he landed on the spacepad. "But I'm not their kind of criminal. I'll get chewed up and spit out."

Sorr heard horror stories on Oovo IV of the bloody prison riots which lead to the brutal death of the last warden. When the Vong took over, they maimed every prisoner and security guard alike. It was to the point where they all rose up and actually overthrew the Vong. However, Oovo IV quickly went back to being the same old prison. Sorr sighed as he walked down the ramp heading to the Warden's office. "Let's get this over with." he said.

Despite the less than ideal location, Neli was still plenty cheerful. Her pistol was at her side, her lightsaber hidden in her satchel. And her rebreather hung around her neck rather than on her face for the moment. She smiled to Sorrr at the comment on the ship, "Let's skip the latter part, that sounds just a teeny bit painful." she laughed before following out.

As they walked Neli hummed, mostly to herself. Fiddling with her flute as she went but trying to avoid actually playing it. And watching each and every person they might pass or approach. "Man, this must really suck. Can you imagine what it was like long term? I'd hate it. It was bad enough when I was stuck at home."

She continued to hum away, though quite aware of where she kept her saber. Though by now, she imagined it's location was really more just to avoid adding people to the list who may recognize it. She'd used it before, though she was hardly high priority enough she figured for word to have traveled anywhere but locally for each instance.

Brinna had to laugh at Sorr’s commentary. She really wondered sometimes if Sorr thought smuggling was going to be some glamorous job filled with noble transport jobs and Princess saving. Brinna had spent enough time on Nar Shaddaa and a crash course in Rory’s “employ” to know that places like Oovo IV were the bread and butter spots for smugglers. This was the type of place where the credits were made. Not that Brinna was particularly looking forward to this job any more than Sorr, she just accepted the locale as inevitable.

Brinna smirked when Sorr admitted to being a criminal. Technically that would depend on what planet they were on. Places where the underworld of the galaxy openly ruled would not categorize the crew as criminals. They were entrepreneurs. The Empires (whichever form or however many at a certain time) would completely disagree. Especially since those were the types of jobs that Brinna liked. Quick in and out jobs, enhance the lives of the oppressed, hit the economy of whichever Empire by devaluing rare goods. All wins for Brinna. Brinna smiled at Neli’s reaction to Sorr’s words before adding her own, “Then I guess it’s a good thing that we don’t have actionable warrants as far as the warden is concerned. We’re here to pick up a passenger. No more no less. You worry too much.”

Brinna was always telling Sorr that. He was a noble, from the Core. An upstanding citizen in the Galactic Alliance until he thought it would be exciting to live out a fantasy and become a smuggler. His early life was hard for Sorr to forget. And in truth he was still pretty sheltered. If he wanted to Brinna was sure Sorr could quit and go back to his family, or travel the galaxy with his pop star girlfriend Vletti'azan'uosus Vletti'azan'uosus . When Sorr suggested to get the mission completed, Brinna couldn’t help but agree with a nod. “Prisons come in all sorts,” Brinna replied to Neli with a nod. She had never considered her family home a prison like Neli and Sorr did to varying degrees. But she always knew there was more out there for her. “But I agree this one seems better avoided than experienced.”

It felt good to be back with the crew of Tiaza’s Purr. Porro had spent a lot of time in the Rimward Trade League, trying to make a name for himself and earn credits for his own ship, but when he received a message from Sorr involving a new mission that needed all hands on deck, Porro was glad to be aboard, and realized the he had missed the spunky crew of the ship and the missions that they saw through. He also had heard that there had been a couple new additions to the team. Porro couldn’t help if quarters were getting a little tight around the ship. But Captain Sorr had a way about finding people and bringing them together so Porro was quite happy to meet the newcomers.

During the trip to Oovo IV, Porro spent a good deal of the time reacquainting himself with the Purr’s systems. Porro prided himself on being very adaptable. A Jack of all Trades by his own words. The best way to make sure he was helpful therefore was to understand the tools at his disposal so that he could jump in wherever was needed. When he felt the ship touch down at its final destination Porro straightened out his coat, made sure that his blaster was secure in its holster and made his way to the cockpit just in time to hear the Captain, Brinna and Neli banter about being criminals and avoiding getting too deep into the prison. Porro didn’t add to the banter, but he agreed that this should be as quick in and out as possible.

As they walked along to meet the warden of the prison and pick up their passenger Porro heard Neli grumble about prison and home. He gave a slight chuckle. He had forgotten that part of the crew dynamic while he was away. The noble rebels, fighting against the silver spoon they were born with. Porro didn’t exactly understand it, but he admired Sorr and Neli for doing it. ”I don’t think even a place like this could keep you locked up permanently,” Porro stated with a grin. ”Just to be sure though, we should keep our eyes peeled for any threat while Sorr and Brinna play nice with the warden.”

Saya frowned from the co-pilots seat as the Purr set down on the landing pad. "Then why did we come here if you hate it so much? Job must pay out the ass." the zeltron asked, flicking off a few switches and powering down the engines. Saya looked at the others with a hint of concern on her face. If the job paid as much as she thought, then whoever they'd be transporting was a big deal. And this place, this prison, housed some of the most dangerous people in the galaxy. Assassins, serial killers, war criminals, maybe even Crusade remnants. When Sorr had told Saya about the job, she'd wondered if her mother's killer was being kept here, and if she should tell her father. In the end she chose not too. He would've destroyed this place in an instant, even on just the off chance the Crusader was here.

But still, if someone here was powerful enough to kill her mother, and they weren't even the worst, what other monsters were kept here? Saya fought back the chill that crawled up her spine as she stepped off the ship. She'd left her lightsaber behind, not trusting herself to wield it, and even less, in it not being stolen. On the bright side, despite everyone's apparent nonchalance about their location, they were all in agreement to be cautious. "So uh...what's the plan, Cap?" Saya asked. Fly the ship here. Fly the ship back. That was about all Saya knew. The in-between parts? Mystery.

Sorr Kortu

Socially Awkward Smuggler
Why did Sorr get the feeling that his crew enjoys roasting him more than the job at hand? It was like he was back at High School again. "As a Smuggler," Sorr whispered to Brinna. "There's no such thing as too cautious. Are you sure that the warden knows that we're just transporters? Did our paperwork go through with the prison?"

If they didn't, then the entire crew would be arrested by now and the last thing Sorr wanted was to get thrown in jail. Vletti'azan'uosus Vletti'azan'uosus and Brinna were the only ones who knew this but Sorr's fears was getting sent to prison where he would get chewed up and spit out. An 18 nearly 19-year-old noble kid from Alderaan was as soft as a pillow (and Brinna would often tease Sorr that she felt pillows that were tougher than he was.) Being a Smuggler, Sorr thought it would bring fun and adventure, not send him to the place where he feared the most.

"Just act causal Saya," Sorr said shifting his eyes towards the guards ahead. "Brinna and I will talk to the Warden and we'll get the package not go to jail right guys?"

The young man smiled. "Right?" He said as they approached the two guards.

"Captain Kortu," The guard said approaching the group. "Welcome to Oovo IV the package is being prepped and ready for you to pick up. You just need to go through final checks with the Warden at his office."

"Sounds good to me!" Sorr said. "When will we get paid?"

"As soon as the transaction is completed?" The guard replied. "Since this is a high security prison, we'll need you relinquish your weapons."

"Wait...." Sorr said slowly. "I wasn't aware that we were supposed to give up our weapons."

"Standard procedure Captain," The guard insisted. "Now please have your crew hand over their weapons."

"No kidding." she agreed about not having any warrants to Brinna Dara Brinna Dara . And chuckled at Porro Tanau Porro Tanau 's comment, "Of course it couldn't! Slippery as a spirit I am!" she feigned ghostly whooshing noises grinning.

She grunted at Sorr nodding with false seriousness, "Yes, just a bunch of youths wandering into a prison. Acting casual. So non suspicious." then quieted down as they approached the guard who already noted Sorr's name. And apparently, final checks. She then let out a groan as he said they'd have to relinquish their weapons, "Seriously man? Almost want to stick it out out here to be honest and wait for you guys. Not a fan of walking around unarmed in a place full of nutjobs. Where ya putting 'em? I don't plan on walking outa here without them. So I better know where they're going."

It made sense to her but she still didn't like it. It wasn't like she'd be completely unprepared if a fight broke out, the force was a huge help. But she still really didn't like it. "Nah, actually, think I'll keep 'em. If I can't go through with 'em fine. But I'm not walking around empty handed. Hate that. Rest of you fella's can do what you want."

Brinna would ordinarily vehemently disagree with Sorr’s statement. She found that flying by the seat of her pants was a much better method of getting things done in the smuggler’s realm than plotting things out and being careful. Maybe that was why the small inexperienced crew ended up being as successful as they were. They had both ends of the spectrum covered. And though Sorr was the undisputed Captain of the crew. Brinna’s personality didn’t allow her opinions to go unsaid. That said, while she was keeping an open mind to pivoting to a contingency plan, in this case it wouldn’t be the worst thing to stick to the plan and be cautious. “There’s a difference between caution and worry. The documents were sent and received. Don’t worry so much.”

The newest member of the crew asked about the plan. Brinna couldn’t help but smirk at Sorr’s answer. Sorr would do well to heed his own advice. Saya was a Zeltron, she more than likely could tell that anything casual from Sorr at this point was a complete act. “Uh…sure. We’ll handle the talking.”

As they closed the distance to the guards. Brinna sized them up. Descent armor. Helmet for anonymity. Seemed about standard for the situation. Which to Brinna meant if things went bad right off the bat these two poor guards wouldn’t know what hit them when the unarmed pretty girl put them down lightning quick. “I don’t carry that chit boys,” Brinna said as she ignored the request and continued forward. “I wouldn’t suggest searching me though.” Brinna smiled and nodded to Neli’s stance on remaining armed. Even if Neli wasn’t allowed into the facility she would be of great help should things go the way they always seemed to go.

Saya seemed a little less gung ho about the adventure than Brinna and Neli. Or at least less casual about it. Porro hoped that the Zeltron young woman would be ok with all the trouble the crew ended up in. For now Porro assumed it would all be fine, just like normal. Besides Neli’s response to the jail not being equipped to hold her came and forced a chuckle from Porro. ”Sure it’s just your spirit that is slippery?” Porro asked with a wink.

It appeared that the time for flirting, no matter how innocent, was going to be cut short at the appearance of the guards. Porro was more than happy to be support for Sorr and Brinna’s lead. At least until things went sideways. Porro could hope that this mission would be as easy as Sorr suggested. But let’s face it that rarely was the case.

When the guard asked for their weapons Porro played it cool. He pulled his main blaster, the only one that would be visible by optics or any other sensors and was prepared to hand it over before Neli spoke up. Porro gauged the guards’ reaction to Neli’s words and contemplated putting his blaster back in its place on his hip. ”Show of good faith,” Porro said flipping the blaster around so the handle was pointing towards the guard. ”As my friend said though, better be someplace secure for me to pick up on my way out.”

He waited for the guard to take his weapon, it was actually his backup. His favored blaster was hidden elsewhere on his person. He had a feeling that security would take such a measure, and showing up with an empty holster didn’t seem an easy way to trick them. Porro laughed however as Brinna merely charged forward. He knew for a fact that Brinna owned a blaster, but her hands and feet were her true weapons and taking those from her would be a tall order.

"Just act causal Saya," Sorr said, earning himself a heaping plate of side-eye from Saya, interrupted only to snicker as Neli poked fun at their fearless leader. Together though, the group quieted down as they approached the very heavily armed guards who were waiting to 'greet' them. Sorr's jubilance was undeterred however, and the kid pushed onward, much to the apparent annoyance of the guards.

"...Not a fan of walking around unarmed in a place full of nutjobs..." Neli said upon hearing the rules about weapons. "Yeah, me neither guys...I mean I get it but I think it might be better for me to keep the engines warm? Ya know...just in case..." Just in case someone did something so horribly stupid that they would indeed be thrown in here among the inmates and the only way to escape was a quick, high speed, high-burn exit from atmosphere.

Neither Saya's nor Neli's protestations seemed to dissuade the others from relinquinishing their weapons though, and Saya let out a slight grown. "Ugh alright...C'mon Nel," Saya said looking over at the other women with a half-smile. "They get into trouble who else is gonna bail them out?"

Sorr Kortu

Socially Awkward Smuggler
Sorr gave a soft sigh towards Neli Neli and Saya Taiyou-Fyre Saya Taiyou-Fyre . Of course, they would choose to not relinquish their weapons, why are they making things so difficult? "It's standard procedure," the guard said with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "Please just hand over your-"

"That won't be necessary."

Sorr looked up to see a small plump man with silver hair, classes, and a two-piece suit. He was accompanied by Two Guards cladded in light Durasteel armor armed with tear gas grenades and armed with E-11D Blaster Carbines. "My name is Warden: Naiad Webb and this is my prison facility. Let them proceed." Naiad said. "Our facility is more than secure enough to handle a couple of armed guests."

"Yeah," Sorr slowly placed his Pistol in his holster. "We won't cause any trouble! We're just a crew just trying to make some creds that's all!"

"You are..... a little young to handle such a dangerous criminal like Prisoner: THX 1137." Warden Naiad said. "So I will have to make sure that you and your co-captain are legitimate to take on this prisoner. It shouldn't take too long to do so, Afterall I've taken a glance at the paperwork and have been impressed how much you've accomplished Mr. Kortu."

Sorr slowly nodded.

"If you may," he said. "Please follow me to outprocessing."

As a Smuggler, the possibility of being imprisoned was always on Sorr's mind. Even though Brinna Dara Brinna Dara had teased of being overly paranoid, Sorr was all too aware of the consequences of Smuggling. Sorr wondered if he jumped the gun on being a Smuggler. He was enamored with the stories of Han Solo and The Voidhound wanting to go on adventures like they did. Sorr forgot that the stories he read as a kid were romanticized and even exaggerated to make a good story. It was really silly to believe that the Voidhound once flirted with the Emperor? Most Smugglers are broke, in debt, in jail, or constantly have to look over their shoulders for people wanting to kill them.

Sorr knew that there was no turning back, no matter how much of a good person he thinks he is, he's still a criminal. Which is why Oovo IV felt unsettling, he is in a maximum-security facility willingly. Warden Naiad can stop and arrest Sorr right now for Smuggling illegal goods and there was nothing he could do about it. "Despite the fact that Oovo Iv is located in the middle of nowhere." Naid said. "People have attempted to escape but thanks to our state-of-the-art security our escape rate is nil."

They were walking down a bright tunnel, beacons pulsing with every step they take. "Those beacons we're passing by are scanning our biometrics. You don't go in and out of Oovo IV without our know how."

"Nice," Sorr said nodding drumming his fingers in the process. "Tell me more, I'm dying to know more about the history of this place." Sorr's voice was laced with sarcasm as he spoke.

"This facility used to belong the Galactic Republic, and then the Galactic Empire, but over the years it has been independently ran." Naiaid said as they entered the main hall filled with prisoners. Many of whom were looked fierce and deadly looking at Sorr with deadly or lustful intent. "New meat!" A Dug shouted out as the men cheered. Sorr squeaked in fear before quickly retreating behind Brinna clutching her shoulders tightly.

"Don't worry," Naaid said. "They do that every time a visitor comes here."

Porro Tanau Porro Tanau

Brinna Dara Brinna Dara mentioned not having weapons, and Neli definitely remembered early on seeing how she didn't really need them anyway. Whether she had any on her or not, it likely wouldn't matter. Neli however, didn't have that kind of physical strength. She was capable, but she relied on her weapons to enact almost any real lethal blow.

Besides Neli’s response to the jail not being equipped to hold her came and forced a chuckle from Porro. ”Sure it’s just your spirit that is slippery?” Porro asked with a wink.
Neli raised a brow at him, "Whatever do you mean?" she answered though the conversation moved on.

Saya Taiyou-Fyre Saya Taiyou-Fyre had the same position as Neli apparently and she chuckled at her own answer to the guards,
"Exactly!" she agreed, "Troublesome boys." she joked at them ready to head off with Saya to the ship, however another arrived saying that they didn't need to. Neli watched him carefully as he spoke with Soro, though without the need to give up her weapons. She was more willing to stick around. Shrugging at Saya, "Might follow then..." she admitted. She did still want to see, she just was wholly unwilling to do so unarmed. Not here anyway.

She had to stop laughing at the claim their escape rate was Nil. More likely they just denied it and covered it up. She didn't help the amused chuckle at Sorr's sarcasm though. Neli smiled cheerful at the men, lifting her flute to her mouth and letting out a tune as they walked, a solemn tone. And one through which she directed fear towards the men, filling their minds with ominous threat. Not all of them, not everywhere. Just the prisoners looking at them. She'd keep playing even after she stopped the suggestive press towards their minds. It was a subtle mental motion, not one easily realized to be something beyond just a strange reaction at best let alone that it was essentially a mind trick to make them afraid.

Neli would add in an extra comment afterwards, "Is that so?" it was full of suspicion but again, just narrowly avoided being outright accusatory.

Brinna didn’t blame Neli or Saya for being hesitant in relinquishing their weapons. She could just imagine the look on Sorr’s face though. He always thought that everything was going against him. Brinna also smirked at Porro’s actions. She wondered if the guards could see through his ruse or if she was getting to know the man’s mannerisms too well. She also gave a smirk at the playful flirting that seemed to go back and forth between Porro and Neli. There didn’t seem to be much to it, at least as far as Brinna could tell, but the future was full of crazy possibilities. In the end the call for surrendering weapons turned out to be moot as the warden made his presence and excused the need for “standard procedure”.

For as much grief as Brinna gave Sorr over his cautious and almost timid demeanor, it sure would go a ways to making the warden comfortable with their presence in his facility, with everyone but her remaining armed. “I hope your facility is secure, warden, we’re not soldiers, the reason why we are armed is for our protection. And when dealing with hardened criminals we don’t tend to take things for granted.”

There was a bit of growl from Brinna as the warden questioned their capabilities based upon their age. But she held her tongue for the moment. Brinna gave a bit of a smirk at the response however to their paperwork. Did she embellish their accomplishments a little bit? Of course she did. It wasn’t like she could brag about some of their illegal feats no matter if this prison was not the jurisdiction of the crimes they had committed. So, she made the legal feats a bit more impressive.

Brinna followed behind the warden, she could almost hear the wheels in Sorr’s head turning considering all the things that could go wrong. Brinna didn’t consider herself a criminal. She was merely outside of the law. What she did was hardly going to be prosecuted on Nar Shaddaa, the same could be said for most things on Coruscant. Well, the actions wouldn’t be required on Coruscant, so the fact that they shipped needed supplies illegally to those that lacked would have likely been cheered rather than punished by the Galactic Alliance.

When the warden did admit that people had made attempts to escape the prison were not all that shocking, even though a success would likely not be all that much to celebrate. “Criminals. If you can’t trust them to stay put in their cells, who can you trust?” Brinna responded with a smirk.

“Big Brother is always watching. Probably a good thing here. Outside, not as much as far as I’m concerned,” Brinna commented knowing that Sorr would counter any thoughts that they were resistant to the scans with his own response. And Sorr didn’t disappoint praising the scans and asking to hear more. Brinna basically ignored the history lesson. She didn’t care who wanted these beings here, she was here to do a job and that was it. As they walked amongst the prisoners, Brinna made sure to give a steely glare to all of them, her portrayal of strength however was quickly countered but Sorr’s shriek and hiding.

Brinna gave a bit of a giggle at Sorr hiding behind her, but she hoped the prisoners would see that to mean she was a threat more than Sorr was weak. “Don’t worry Captain. They are prisoners here, and you’ve got a blaster on your hip and all the warden’s guards are here to help. They may be rude, but we’ve got the advantage.” She heard Neli’s tune and hoped that it would calm Sorr, but was surprised that it seemed to be having some sort of effect on the prisoners as well. Brinna knew that Neli was “gifted”, but wasn’t expecting a simple tune to calm a room like this.

Neli questioned what Porro meant when asking if she was only slippery spiritually. Porro paused for a moment and was grateful that the conversation moved past the question. Truth was, as many other times, Porro just opened his mouth and said something that he thought sounded charming and hadn’t even considered if the comment made any sense beyond vague flirtation. In this case he would get away with it, but he would be sure to remember that Neli was listening to him and to make sure he was making sense the next time he tried to charm her.

The newest member of the group also declined to give up her weapons, which ended up proving a moot point as well. When the warden showed up and stated they could remain armed. Porro stepped up to the guard who had taken his spare blaster and took it back, spinning it on his finger before returning it to the holster on his hip.

”Doesn’t matter how remote you think you are, a caged animal will always try to escape,” Porro stated at the warden admitting attempts were made. ”Congratulations on your successes. The systems and training in place must be top notch.” He gave Neli a bit of a nudge when she laughed, it was good to know that he wasn’t the only one thinking that there was number fudging when it came to successful escapes. Nothing was inescapable.

As they continued on down the convict lined hallway, Porro’s hand was on his blaster. He doubted that things would get out of hand, it was a prison after all, but he didn’t like leaving things to chance. Neli started playing her flute and that seemed to calm the crowd as well as Porro’s nerves. ”So where’s this prisoner THX 1137? I hope there are no hoops to jump through. We were contracted for transport, not as legal representation.”

As soon as the warden made his appearance, Saya's skin began to crawl. Something about the man didn't sit well with the Zeltron. Her eyes examined him up and down, and despite his saying it was okay for them to bring their weapons in, Saya was even less inclined to go in now.

Slowly, everyone filtered into the prison, and the inmates watched them from all sides, hooting, hollering. That part didn't bug Saya a bit. It wasn't unlike the old Judges outpost, the bars and saloons that had once filled the Outer Rim before the Sith had taken over their old territories. Saya wondered for a moment what had happened to the organization, if they'd been stamped out and eradicated, or if they'd just faded away. Maybe some had joined the Sith, expecting a payday. It didn't matter now.

The Warden continued on, guiding the crew towards where they were presumably keeping their prisoner-to-be-transported, all the while boasting a perfect retention score of their inmates. Everyone seemed to want to challenge that assertion in their own way. Saya, for her part, remained silent, instead keeping her eyes on her surroundings, examining the security measures. Biometric scanners everywhere, rayshielded cells, guards at every vantage point. The only thing that seemed that unusual from the outside were the scanners, but Saya would've bet good cred on the fact that that was only what could be seen from the surface. There were other systems in play to keep the prisoners in captivity. The prison may not have had a perfect retention score, but it was most likely absurdly high.

"Anything we should know when transporting the prisoner?" Saya finally chipped in, trying to stay on task while the others joked about. "Force-attunement? Strange biology? If you're hiring us, someone is probably out for their hide. Who?" The more info, the better.

Sorr Kortu

Socially Awkward Smuggler
When Sorr was around 8 years old, he saw a documentary about the brutal horrors of prison. Prisoners getting stabbed, beat up, or worse. It made Sorr fearful of being thrown prison which was very ironic considering that Sorr is doing criminal work as a Smuggler. Despite making the right connections, there was a huge chance that he would be thrown into Prison where he'll be surrounded by people who will have no problems torturing and taking advantage of him. As he clung behind Brinna Dara Brinna Dara shaking uncontrollably, he can already hear the jeers from the prisoners behind the glass. Banging their fists on the door delighted to see a frightened Sorr hiding behind his co-captain.

"Rude?" Sorr muttered to Brinna while he clung onto her like a baby bear. "We're in a place that's filled with the worst kind of scum in the Galaxy! We're talking about terrorists, mass murderers, people who are wanted in 30 systems! We are in their territory and they're sizing us up!"

He never understood why the others were so calm about this. They were all kids while the vast majority of the prisoners would have no problem chewing them up and spitting them out. It didn't matter if they were armed or not. "It is the best security system in the Galaxy," Warden Nuald said with a hint of pride in his voice. "Planets ranging from the Core Worlds to the Outer Rim have evil doers that needed to be.....cleaned up. Someone had to step up especially with the Jedi and Bounty Hunters being less than reliable. For 40 years I have built, managed, supply, service jails all around the Galactic Alliance. When I took over Oovo IV, it was still reeling from the Vong attack centuries ago."

Nuaid placed his hands behind his back as he headed towards the entrance of the prison. "I've terraformed in and reshaped it this once glorious prison to where the most dangerous criminals will be placed here in space and make the Galaxy a better place."

He turned to Sorr who was hiding behind Brinna like a scaredy cat. "It looks like I've chosen the wrong people for the job," Nuaid said raising an eyebrow. "Are you sure that he's up for the task Miss Dara? I've heard.... otherwise."

Sorr frowned immediately letting go of Brinna's shoulders. "Wait a minute....." he said raising an eyebrow. "What do you mean you've heard otherwise?"

The Warden gave a pompous shrug. "It's just rumors Mr.Kortu," Nuaid replied. "It's nothing that you should be concerned about."

"It's something I definitely to be concerned about," Sorr whispered in Brinna's ear.

"As for the prisoner," Nuaid said. "Just know that THX-1138 is a peculiar prisoner one that shouldn't be difficult to handle."

"Who is he?" Sorr asked. "Your description on the contract was pretty vague."

"It's company policy not to discuss the specific of the said prisoner." Nuaid said.

"That doesn't make any sense."

"Are you quite done asking 50 questions Mr.Kortu?" Nuaid asked with a slight hint of annoyance. "You and your crew are getting paid: Handsomely I might add and-"

Nuaid turned to see a very tall and muscular Karkarodon tower over Sorr and the crew. He had a shark like appearance with hardened dark blue skin with scars embedded onto his hands, small, round, white eyes. He smiled at Sorr showing off his white, sharp, triangular teeth. The Karkarodon wore a black cloak with red flowers on it and wroe a brown sash in the front and back of his cloak. Said sash carried a gigantic sword wrapped with white gauze it was almost as tall as the Karakrodon.

Sorr stumbled back trembling a bit. He tried to be brave but it was hard to do so when one was stuck in a place that they feared the most. "Well boss!" He spoke with a guttural growl. "Looks like the fresh meat has arrived on time!"

"They're not inmates Skul." Nuaid replied in an irritated tone before turning to the crew. "I'm sorry this Skul: The head of security, he goes in and takes care of the more.... powerful prisoners in this facility namely the Force Sensitives."

"And I'm looking forward to gathering more troublemakers!" Skul smiled turning his gaze on Neli Neli and winked. "Especially that one! Go ahead and cause a ruckus! It's been a while since I've broken a Jedi's bones!"

"Hey!" Sorr spoke up. "That's my friend you're talking to! You mess with her you mess with me!"

Skul looked down on Sorr and laughed. "You're just a pipsqueak!" He said not even looking at Sorr. "Not worth even worth talking to."

"Enough!" Nuaid yelled. "Skul handle the prisoners in level 524! I've received word of a fight!"

"Yes sir," Skul took a bow and left while Nuaid stared at Sorr. "Now with that out of the way my office is just ahead," Nuaid said.

Neli chuckled at Brinna's comment about big brother always watching, "Big brother getting a little too big sometimes." she agreed. Porro also gave her a nudge at the claim of no escapes. It was quite a claim to make, too much of one for her to believe. He and Saya both had more questions on the prisoner, naturally. Neli was perfectly happy to let the others get all of those out of their system and just listen for the answers.

She did have to feel a bit of pity for Sorr and his fear of the situation as he stuck behind Brinna. She never really had that much, fear just wasn't a strong trait in her line it seemed. Too much dark influence or violent genes maybe. And his comments on how dangerous they were,
"Sure, but they're all still mortal. If they want proof of that..." she held her hands open and shrugged about it.

Despite that, she raised a brow at his claim he may have chosen the wrong people for the job. Maybe hiding behind one of your crew isn't the most confidence inviting action. she thought. Still, at least he stepped out to question where he'd heard things from. Then there was more, a karkarodan wielding a very very oversized weapon. A rather amusing comparison, while her lightsaber wasn't any shorter than normal it was thinner. And sher herself wasn't particularly big by any means either. His first comment got another raised brow, and his claim of her as a jedi, she gave him a smile,
"Should look elsewhere then, I'm not a jedi." she shrugged.

She had to smile more genuinely at Sorr's attempt to defend her, though he shot back and was often before Neli really had time to make up a response,
"Real friendly fellow." she chuckled, "Sure seemed a little fishy though."

She wasn't going to try and make that pun stick, if they got it they got it, if not, eh, maybe they'd just be a little extra cautious. That wasn't a bad thing...well...maybe it was for Sorr.

Brinna did her best to keep the smirk forming on her lips from showing too much as Sorr hid behind her and seemed to even be trembling. He was always unease about their jobs, thinking that something was going unexpected was going to happen, or that the local authorities they were trying their best to avoid would somehow discover what was going on before they were able to complete their mission. This seemed to be something different though. Even though his actions were honestly comical to Brinna, she would have to ask him what the deal was. He couldn’t be hiding in her skirt so to speak in front of clients. “Relax captain, we’ve got this,” Brinna stated to Sorr quietly hoping to build up his confidence some.

The Warden continued to puff out his chest as he described his security. Brinna said nothing, but the thoughts of over compensation were pulsing inside her head dying to get out. When the Warden questioned whether he had hired out his job to the right crew however, Brinna couldn’t keep quiet. “The Captain and the crew are quite up to answering your needs, Warden. If these rumors you hear have expressed that we don’t get the job done, they are lies. We may not be a crew of grizzled veterans, but we get the job done. If you wanted old men you should have hired old men.”

Sorr of course was concerned about what their reputation was. As long as they continued to get jobs Brinna could care less what the whispering underworld said about them. “Focus on the job captain. Look into rumors when this place is safely behind us,” Brinna whispered back to Sorr before returning her attention to the Warden.

Much like Sorr, Brinna was confused that the Warden wasn’t releasing any information about the prisoner they were being paid to transport. Holding the files of other prisoners from the crew was completely understandable, but they needed to know any precautions necessary for prisoner THX 1137. Sorr pressed the issue before Brinna could, and the Warden started the standard “I’m not paying you to be informed” answer that seemed very popular with clients of smugglers, but even that was interrupted by a new addition to the gathering.

Brinna didn’t shy away in the least from the Karakrodon. It was just a big fish with arms and legs after all. She’d show this one who was boss if he was dumb enough to challenge her. Seemed this one: Skul didn’t see Brinna as a worthy opponent. She smirked at what she could do to him with his focus squarely on Neli because of her Force gifts. Brinna was also proud to see that despite obviously being initially scared of Skul, Sorr stepped up to defend Neli, though Brinna was quite sure that Neli wouldn’t require aid. The Warden gave his Head of Security something else to do and things would have no choice but to calm down just a little. “Good. Let’s get this job started already. Though we’ve done nothing that your clients would like to see us here, we do butt right up against the law in other portions of the galaxy. So staying in a jail for too long does make the hair on the back of our necks stand up a bit.”

As they continued to walk, Porro was pretty well bored. The weapons drama was quickly diffused by the warden, sure they were in the middle of a prison with a bunch of hardened criminals surrounding them, which was having an obvious effect on the captain, but Porro wasn’t really concerned. If they were taking a stroll on their own maybe he would have been on higher alert, but no matter his doubts of the “zero escape” and “greatest security system ever” claims made by the warden, Porro was fairly confident that one of the caged animals that made an attempt to attack them in the presence of the warden would be put down hard and quick.

The warden seemed to be annoyed by the constant questions. Porro wondered why that was, but knowing his own temper when raised he decided against asking anything more. With that being the case it was just a matter of going along for the ride until their job actually started. That is until the Karakrodon showed up. At first Porro merely flinched backwards a half step. Then he growled as the sharkman insinuated that they were prisoners. Not that they all hadn’t broken a law or two to the best of Porro’s knowledge. But they hadn’t been caught. And to Porro’s knowledge he wasn’t even wanted at the present time. So it was easy to take offense to being labeled as such.

When Skul targeted Neli Porro’s hand went to his blaster and it was starting to lift from the holster as the warden stepped in and gave the head of security a new assignment. Porro smirked at Neli’s fishy comments, but he wasn’t quite at ease yet. ”Head of Security should be more disciplined than that,” Porro mumbled under his breath. ”I’m sure a skullcrusher is useful to have on your team in a place like this. But he shouldn’t be head of chit. Let’s hurry up and get this show on the road.”

Oh, just what had Saya gotten herself into? Even from where she was standing, Saya could practically feel Sorr quaking in his boots as he cowered behind Brinna. Forget what the Warden thought, the way the other inmates were eyeing up the noble, Saya began to worry she'd have to go fetch the soap for the poor kid. Thank the Force though that at least one of them knew how conduct themselves. With Brinna's quick tongue they might actually get the job anyways.

Though, the more that Saya heard the Warden talk, the less she actually wanted the job. Employers who didn't give details were bad news. It either meant they were ill-informed, or hiding something. And both of those were traits that tended to get smugglers like themselves killed. Saya was just about to voice her dissatisfaction when a large Karakrodon made his appearance, wielding a sword that was easily as tall as himself. Saya's eyes travelled up his body from foot to head, mouth slightly ajar. Damn, what did they feed that guy?

Soon enough though, with the giant slab of fishmeat out of the way (Saya had to suppress a giggle at Neli's pun), everyone seemed a little too eager to get on with job. Or at least, to get away from fish-for-brains, as Porro seemed to be. And while Saya could certainly sympathize with the latter notion, the Zeltron was still uneasy about the job. "What is it that you don't want us to know?" Saya asked, stepping towards the front of the group and speaking to the Warden directly. "No data. At all? No idea who we're hauling, what kind of baggage they might be bringing with them. More importantly, why. Why smugglers, when you could surely call on any number of governments who use your services." Saya turned towards Sorr (well, Brinna, whom Sorr was hiding behind) with a frown. "I don't like this, Cap. This whole thing stinks, and I'm not about to let my ship get turned to space dust because some old geezer wants to nap instead of go into storytime."
