Faction You Are Cordially Invited (Diarchy, House Sancetti)

The Brightest Star
I listen carefully as they speak. It's an intriguing choice though a risky one. After all, unlocking Sith holocrons could very well be within their reach. I happen to have a few in my own possession, tucked neatly away on a nearby shelf.

"It seems we'll be able to do business, then. Once the festivities are over, you can take me to your employer. I accept to negociate with you later. "

With a friendly smile, I also take a moment to notice that the ceremony is progressing. Turning toward the back of the hall, I briefly watch the scene unfolding in a peaceful rhythm before bringing my attention back to my partner seated beside me.

"I don't mind sharing the contents of the holocrons purely for educational purposes, as you say."

Accompanied by a subtle smile and a knowing wink, I imply my agreement to this small business proposition.

The older teen sat at the end of the group and looked up when her master stood up. The excuse he gave for leaving her alone with the one person she had no desire to be left with was that he needed to prepare to play for the first dance. Giving him a look that could have set him on fire if she wanted, she silently watched as he left and totally ignored Laphisto and his apprentice.

Instead of thinking about her rotten fate for the time being, she decided to look around the venue and see the beauty around her. For the few minutes he took to get ready, at least. Once the music started, she only had eyes for him. The tune was slow and sweet. Then the thought of her getting married barged into her mind, and she wondered if he would play something for her when it happened. When it happened...there wasn't anybody she wanted to marry right now. Her insecurity reared its head, and she simply sat in her chair.

Vyllia could feel the emotion in the air. She could almost sense Maldor's tears forming. She gave his hand a comforting squeeze. She had been holding it together rather well after having to calm her nerves to deliver her vows. There was just a bit of ceremony left and then they would truly be one.

With papers and agreements of the formation of House Sancetti complete and signed, Vyllia didn't really understand the tradition of asking for any who would object to their union. She did not stand in the way of Tapani traditions, but this one seemed foolish. A smirk formed on her lips as she imagined someone stepping forward to challenge and facing Reign. Of course no one invited had any objections and they quickly moved beyond that to…the kiss.

Maldor came closer and their lips pressed together. Vyllia wrapped her arms around Maldor and held him close. The kiss was passionate without being over the top, ending before the gathered observers turned on them. Following the kiss Maldor took Vyllia by the hand and led her from the chapel to the grand hall. It looked marvelous, but by the time Vyllia had taken it all in, the guests had settled and they were ready for the First Dance.

Maldor had explained the ancient Tapani tradition of the show that the husband and wife shared with their guests. She was quite glad to hear that experience would be a private moment. It seems even Tapani customs have room for evolution.

Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik played a beautiful song as the couple stood in the middle of the marble dance floor. "This is the most wonderful moment of my life,"[/font] she said as they prepared to start their dance. As she followed Maldor's lead into the rhythm of the dance her eyes started to water and she rested her head against his shoulder. When the dance ended it would be time for merriment. Now she wanted to be one with her emotions and cling onto her new husband, her safe spot in a chaotic galaxy.

Iandre moved slightly when Rellik excused himself, and she met his gaze as he went past her. After he left, the spot next to her was empty, and she gave his apprentice a warm smile. It didn't bother her that it was ignored, and she shrugged. There would be time in the future to talk to her. Turning her attention back to the wedding, she wasn't entirely ready for his performance.

As he played, she closed her eyes and fell into the song and melody. He is confident in his playing, and the music doesn't falter. She allowed the timbres and tones to fill her mind, and she smiled again, remembering their previous dance.

When the song ended, she opened her eyes to see the married couple standing in each other's arms. Sliding her eyes to Rellik, she nodded silently and kept the smile on her face. If others started to get up to dance, she would wait for him to come and ask her to dance.

Makai thought it an interesting tradition for other couples to join the newlyweds on the dancefloor. Or perhaps it was just the wish of the bride and groom. After all, it wasn't often that a Diarch broke out a musical instrument and played at one's matrimonial ceremony. An honor, to be sure. A memory the couple would certainly cherish.

Since he was flying solo, the half-Galan wasn't dancing. He could manage, but it wasn't an activity he was eager to partake in. Besides, it seemed kind of pointless, his wife was his preferred dance partner.

Instead, he had snagged a glass of wine and watched from the sidelines. Plenty of wedding left to enjoy after all.

The notes began to play. Strings plucked in rhythm. The fabric of sound that would lay the foundation of their lives.

Maldor was grateful to the Diarch for composing and playing the piece.

Her hand in his. His gaze upon hers. The smile on her lips reflected on his own. The step. The sway. Two people in concert, moving as one.

"This is the most wonderful moment of my life," she said, and his heart lifted with her words and the swell of the music in the air.

"And mine," he told her, "until tomorrow. And tomorrow. And all of our tomorrows."

And the tomorrows of those who will follow us, he thought.

He wondered if it would be a girl, first. Or a boy. He only knew that they would be beautiful. An ounce of Vyllia would make any child beautiful. A drop of her had made his life more beautiful. And now he had much more than a drop. He had all of her, and she had all of him.

He couldn't imagine that his own parents had ever been so imbued with joy.

The arranged marriages of the Tapani sector must all pale in comparison to this. They built atop mutual interest. Upon legacy. Upon assets.

By chance, Maldor and Vyllia had all of these things.

But he recalled that magic moment atop a rooftop in the heart of the Empire. A moment when all of the rules fell away. All of the logical reasons were moot. He'd stood with a blazing blade, and he'd stolen away this woman for only one mad reason.

They had something greater than a well-structured merger. They had something more perfect than practicality.

They were imbued with a Force that seemed to permeate the universe. Penetrating all living things. Shaping fates, directing Destinies.

They had their Love.

Now, and always.

The music had faded, replaced by the low murmur of joy and the soft rhythm of shifting feet across marble. The first dance had given way and now the hall was alight with movement and warmth. Rellik remained seated on the modest platform, the stringed instrument resting gently across his lap. He didn't rise right away. He allowed himself a quiet glance outward across the marble expanse and the soft golden light. He was looking for someone.

And there she was. Her eyes were already on him and he felt his heart skip a beat as they locked unto each other. Without adverting his gaze he stood, moving with the unhurried poise of someone entirely present in the moment. Gently he set the instrument aside and made his way to her. As if there was nothing else in the world to him.

When he reached her table, he gave her a bow fitting of royalty. Treating her as he always did with a unique reverence. Extending out his hand with a soft grace to her he asked.

"Would you give me the honor of a dance."

It was not often he felt anxious or scared. But ever so briefly there for a moment, he felt his heart beating almost out of his chest. His eyes flared with a shine across them. Anticipatory and wanting.

Watching Rellik as he remained seated for several moments, their eyes met, and she nodded just slightly. Her own heart probably skipped the same beat he had. By the time he arrived, her heart might have been in her throat, but she didn't let it show.

He moved, and nothing else mattered but her. Feeling at the moment like the center of his galaxy, she accepted his extended hand and stood up with him.

Her grey eyes met his, and while hers did not flare as his did, they held wonder and maybe something she wasn't yet ready to admit to.

"Keep treating me like royalty, and I'll start believing I am on. I will gladly dance with you, my Diarch."

The word my sounded in her tone as if she meant it. He was hers, and she was his.

He didn't look away for a moment, he wanted to cement each second into his memroy. Rellik closed his fingers gently around hers in the same way he had done the first time he took her hand into his. Even as he turned, guiding her step by step toward the floor now aglow with perfect lighting and love in the air, his eyes remained on hers. The music had changed, but he barely registered it.

Guests blurred into the periphery. Laughter and chatter thinned into a distant hum. It was as if the world had taken a respectful step back and dimmed its light leaving only the two of them, suspended in the center of it all. He pulled her gently into his arms. Close enough that he could feel the rhythm of her breath against him. One hand found the small of her back, while the other stayed intertwined with his.

They moved slowly, unrecognizably only increasing in speed with the music and returning to the original pace when the song did as well. It was a shared rhythm from two people who had only danced once before but their movements suggested they were perfect for each other. A sway, a turn, the faintest pressure on her back, tender yet strong.

"Time froze as I waited to hold you again." He gave a soft and warm smile as he looked at her still.

This time, the dance was far more formal and where others could observe them. She didn't think they were paying any attention to the two of them. Feeling comfortable in his solid and secure embrace, she let herself fall into the moment. It felt like they moved as one, breathed as one, and were meant to be one.

He led again, and she followed. Eventually, her heart left her throat and returned to her chest. When he applied slight pressure, she went with the flow, and he had all her focus. Smiling only for him, she was silent for a moment or two. Simply enjoying the time with him.

Breathing through her nose and letting it out through her mouth was an unexpected feeling. If it was anything to go off of, she felt a weight forming within her. Like the weight, Laphisto said love was. Tilting her head slightly, much like he had done during their first dance, it brought her closer to him.

"Remember what you asked me when we were holding each other then? I don't have an answer for you. Whatever would make a world for you is what I would want in my world."

Was she ready for this? She didn't know, but Iandre accepted what she was feeling and would strive to get what they both wanted.

He pulled her just a little closer, his hand at her back guiding with care, not force. Their foreheads nearly brushed.

"Right now," he said, voice low and near to her. "All I could want is you. Nothing else. In this moment, you are my whole world."

They moved again softly, slowly. He savored every step and small motion with her. He had not given any space between them since he pulled her up to him. There was a strange euphoria flooding him. Better than any wine, win, or moment he had felt before. It tingled from the top of his head to his toes and only amplified as he looked at Iandre. It was the first time he had ever felt such a feeling and was unsure what it was.

The piano carried on, gentle and unhurried. Each note rang clear, then lingered in the stillness, fading. The song was coming to an end and as the final beautiful notes rang out the Diarch felt like he wanted this moment to last forever.

He leaned in for a kiss with the quiet certainty of a man no longer holding back. He had made up his mind that there was no one else he wanted, no one else who could make him feel this way.

And in that moment, it felt like time itself paused. Cementing the memory forever.

The gentle hold he had on her was keeping her close, and she didn't resist. This is what she wanted as well. Closing her eyes as he spoke in her ear, his warm breath across her skin gave her goosebumps. If there could have been a proper way to be even closer, Iandre would have accomplished it.

Flowing together as the song ended, the kiss they had both waited for what felt like a lifetime connected. Only their connection mattered, and Iandre leaned into Rellik and would remember this moment forever.

There was no flash; her past didn't come back to haunt her. Any Code she might have followed before faded at this moment. Iandre was no longer a Jedi, and she would not refer to herself as one or think of herself as one again. Her future was in her arms, and she didn't want it to go anywhere else.

"You are my future."

Their lips parted slowly, but he didn't move far. Their breath mingling in the quiet space left behind by the music. The world hadn't quite returned yet not fully and he didn't want it to.

Her words echoed in his mind.

"You are my future."

Drawing in a breath. "I'm tired of only running into you in passing. Of finding you in moments."

Pulling her back just enough to look into her eyes. "I want you around me, Iandre. As often as you'll allow. I don't want to wait for chance anymore. I want to be with you, fully."

He didn't ask for forever.

He just asked for her. For time. For the space in his life that had always felt a little emptier. Hoping she would want to fill those moments. To solidify that he was hers and she was his.
