ADVANCED SYSTEMS
SPECIAL FEATURES:

  • Sleeping Area: Behind the cockpit, the M-wing has a rear sleeping area fit for at least a week of travel, designed to allow pilots the luxury of a small meal when escorting bombers to long range targets, allowing the pilot to both sleep well, as well as reorient gravity to allow them to stand, and eat a cooked meal while they travel.
  • Ghost of Wild Space: The Full Spectrum Distortion Projector allows the Savage to jam sensors and targeting computers from locking onto it, making it much harder for enemy pilots to keep track of it, making the already incredibly maneuverable fighter a twirling ghost in the sky.
STRENGTHS
  • Long Range Striker: The Savage is designed to fly alongside strategic bombers, capable of hitting targets far outside of Wild Space, and attack with the capability of a modern starfighter, despite being far outside of the normal operational capacity of one.
  • Wide Birth: Because of the strange shape of the M-wing, the ship is supremely maneuverable, even in atmosphere. While it's main engines are primarily for speed, it's four supplementary ion jet engines allow it bursts of velocity for odd maneuvers that would throw off other starfighters.
  • Frickin' Laser Beams: The two forward Horn Beam lasers are designed to fire either independently, or as a composite laser to attack heavier targets.
WEAKNESSES
  • Laser Recharge: While the Horn Lasers are powerful, they are designed for ships with much more powerful generators. As such, firing the composite laser, or both for an extended period, can drain the ship's power supply rather quickly, causing the horn laser to become inoperable until it recharges.
  • Lone Guns: Simply due to the nature of the mission that the M-wing was designed for, it's often the only fighters in the area. As such, the M-wing was designed with heavy armor and shields, but not really the ability to refuel should things get hairy. Whatever you bring into the mission is what you have until you finally get home, or don't.
DESCRIPTION
The Wild Space Rebellion's mission statement is to free all those who find themselves oppressed. As such, the ability to protect their long range bombers was vital to the WSR's military power.

The result, was the Savage. Based off the Tingel Arm Coalition's Δ-1 Fighter that Si Tech had assisted in producing, the M-wing, or "Savage" as the production team dubbed it, was a fighter designed to escort bombers from one side of the galaxy to the other, from the Firefist to Grek, if needed. with the shifting of the stars in recent years, the WSR had to rely on local hyperlanes, and as such rely heavily on long haul missions to hit targets that would normally be unable to be hit by normal rebel strike groups.
