An unknown incident took place in the Zweihander Union, which led the faction’s leadership to make an emergency call to their allies, the Eternal Empire. In this, support and evacuation were requested. They did not have time to detail why this was necessary, they only communicated to the Eternal Empire to come as quickly as they could. That’s why the Overlord didn’t have too much time to gather a smaller fleet to go to the other, “north” end of the Unknown Region.

After all, the Empress Regent was able to gather four Star Destroyers, and with that, they headed for the ZU area, hoping they wouldn’t be late. They got a coordinate from the ZU staff where they needed to go, so they headed in that direction. The woman, if she could, took with her trustworthy people as well, because who knows when a little reinforcement will come in handy. Anyway, she wanted to handle this matter in person, that is, this one as well. She wasn’t the kind of person who loved to sit in the office. She was like her father. Her place was on the front line, in the front row. Her rank and position did not change this.

The captain of the ship handed over his cabin to the woman for the duration of the route, so the woman spent the trip there, typically reading and making and analyzing war plans. When there were minutes to reach the coordinates, they called her to the bridge so the fleet would arrive soon. Barely up to a minute or two later, the four Star Destroyers exited hyperspace at the given coordinates. Whatever is in the system, just a Fleet, space station, or planets, the woman gestured to the communications officer to open a channel on the ZU frequency.

”This is Ingrid L’lerim, the Overlord of the Eternal Empire. We arrived for the emergency call. Please explain the reason for the emergency call and how we can help you.”

Alli Vern had mainly gotten involved with the Zu thanks to her A.I. Tranquility. Now everything had gone to hell and she was paying for it. She didn't have her usual flagship it was in a shipyard for work and now she was stuck in a space station with a system full of hostiles. "This is Alli Vern requesting Evac, A power play went wrong and now we are besieged on all sides. I wish we could of met on a better note, but you know they say you can get to know someone better under fire." She would of gotten in a ship with Tranquility but it was made for machines. So here she was glad that help had shown up. It had been a simple day until the Union started a civil war and those that were discontent with the union decided to take advantage of it all. Now she just hoped to survive, she hadn't had a day like this since Druckenwell. "Coordinates and maps are incoming, I have sealed off most of the station but they are slowly working their way towards my location. "

Hmm. Fascinating, Truly fascinating. Auriel was mumbling to herself, even as she made notes of everything that was happening in the system. The confidence of the 'Overlord of the Eternal Empire' was noted down, and she continued to adjust what her own behaviour would be like when she first met the woman in question.Within her fully cloaked Arrow Stealth interceptor, Auriel was forced to lurk without her armour, wearing a standard ZU Pilot's uniform.

One of the Other people in the system, Alli Vern Alli Vern , was an equally interesting character. Her knowledge and Cyber prowess were most certainly an asset to the Union, and Auriel vowed to jump in if things got really hot- for now, however, spying would be done, a psychological profile would be created, and knowledge would be gained.

Ben had been the leader of the Zweihander Union for less than a few months before everything went to shit. While many praised his initiative to take the mantle of leader and protector of the people of the Union, many revolted against his regime. The weeks that followed his ascension to the top were full of chaos. Credius's supporters revolted and rebelled against the government. They had allied themselves with the pesky Schesan freedom fighters.

The Intelligence & Security Bureau was extremely busy, imposing strict curfews and sending military troops to assist local police in stopping the rioters. Ben's close advisors and military strategists had persuaded him to call for help. He had reached out directly to their closest allies, the Eternal Empire to send assistance. "Sir, we need to evac now! They've breached the building." Ben stared out the window as the angry mob broke into the governmental building. There were fires everywhere. Soldiers with weapons shooting into the crowd. "This is madness." The guards escorted him to the top where he would board his shuttle and head for Eternal Empire space. "Sir the Eternal Empire is hailing us." Ben nodded, "This is Ben Craig, Chairman of the Zweihander Union, I thank you for your assistance. Our government and nation has fallen and been seized by insurgents."

Everything had happened exactly as he had foreseen, and Tranquility's models predicted. The coup which Credius attempted against government, combined with Ben’s own take over wasn’t simply another conflict that would die down. No it was a civil war that proceeded to rip the ZU apart piece by piece. It was a fight that he would not allow a single one of his dear ‘sons and daughters’ to waste their lives over. Charles sat on the bridge running over the numbers that poured out before him, as reports came in from the Union on all the damage that was being done. The Admiral had decided that the Tomb Fleet would remain in the Unknown Region, though any holocron hunting was called off weeks ago. Now it was a simple matter of testing to see if the loyalty he had built into the fleet would hold,

“Tranquility could you bring me the status on our operatives we sent back to the Union?” Luckily their wasn’t a single casualty among the forces he had sent out secretly to bring back the families of the people who requested leave to check on their loved ones. There was plenty of room for the new arrivals, and the Admiral was more than happy to do what he could to secure the loyalty of the Tomb Fleet. Now the problem was… they were all stuck without a port in the storm of the universe, plus he needed a new power to show loyalty to in order to continue to gain money for his Cabal project… and as if right on que… a playful grin spread over his face, ”Communication officer trace that signal and set a course, and also could you link up a secure channel to whomever sent that message.”

After a few minutes what would be received by the woman on was a message from Admiral Charles, though he wasn’t trying to be fancy… the man did believe in first impressions. So he had to be the ‘face’ of the Tomb Fleet that depended on him. That was why his voice took on the deep, emotionless, and dark tone it was known for… a bit of gravely amusement sprinkled in,

”The Tomb Fleet sent no such call Ingrid L’lerim… your title beyond that is not important at this time…” If Charles was trying to be disrespectful it was hard to tell, given his cold voice was rather hard to read. Still he had to act like he was negotiating from a position of strength for the sake of the families that were now taking refuge on his fleet… among the military personal. Luckily for him the Enternal Empire fleet had not been far away, and so very soon the Tomb Fleet began to come out of hyperspace near the four Star Destroyers. In the center of which was Charles flag ship the Phylactery ”What matters to me is that I represent those under my command on this fleet, and me and my men request asylum from a government that I saw falling apart and chose to remain out of the fighting. Not only is their military personal on board these ships, but their families as well, and they need new homes and places to live, and I will make this very clear… I want them taken care of. The loyalty of these men and officers is to me and through me… your ‘state’… so promise me they will be taken care of… and you can consider this fleet and her veteran crew to be yours.”

"Fuck this"

The voice of the tired Grand Admiral called out from his desk. The Hologram before showed Zweihander Union territory, albeit it continued to shrink replaced by a now gargantuan orange influence cloud. His white gloved hands waved the image off before he rolled a brown cigar in his hand. He placed it to his mouth and exhaled a pure white cloud, sighing in relief.

He worked too hard to watch yet another faction be crippled by infighting and ruin, by those who ignored the sign of change. "Send a message to Admiral Castex, Admiral Gaggu and all other Naval Commanders. Prep all ships for mandatory evacuation"

"Aye, Sir"

"Send a message to the Oligarchy: The Union has fallen. And get me a direct line with my fian-I mean my friend, Lunafreya Solidor Lunafreya Solidor . I want all her operations out of the Redoubt before the enemy approaches"

Objective: Continue to support the loyal forces of the ZU and secure Creator.

Tranquility was busy, She had copies of her self and operatives everywhere. Data centers were being purged, Buildings were being defended Operatives were going rogue in fear for their own safety. As much as it hurt to lose the facilities she called home, every copy of her that was in the ZU got the same signal, Purge. Complicated processes destroying the very storage devices that intelligence agency stored its hard earned data were being turned to dust. The call to agents to evacuate and shelter in safe houses had already been sent out and Tranquility was taxed, most of her servers were now gone she was on emergency mode but still she began dedicating processing to saving the citizens of the ZU, getting as many of them safe as possible. Devices of those going against the ZU found themselves disabled the second they connected to any ZU Network. Those that needed help would find her on their screen ready to assist. It was a dark day and no one won anything and everyone lost everything. Thankfully she had prepared with Charles, Important people had been moved the purge had been in progress, plans just accelerated once the descent was confirmed. Shelter in place and evacuate messages were displayed on a case by case basis.

Meanwhile onboard the Phylactery
"Charles, could you do me a favor and rescue my creator Alli Vern, she was visiting and is stuck on a station that is currently being invaded by hostile forces. I am aware you are in negotiations with the Empress but some things are more important. To quote a phrase made popular by organics, I will owe you one."

The message came at an inopportune time, she was tired, badly dressed and not even patient to deal with that failure. Her forces had begun extracting resources and personnel from that star system, preparing and hunting them for imprisonment in the clutches of slave organizations, one of the most profitable ways she had ever found to earn millions in one go, as well as cleaning up entire regions of possible traitors and rebels to her cause.

With long fingers she pressed the conference button, letting the holographic image of it take on its proper position. She had allowed only the sound of her voice to be heard as she settled into the seat in her private room.

"Why in the name of the Gods would I need to evacuate? Was it failure that took over the leadership of the Union? Or just bad judgment? I was assured this system was hidden from most of the galaxy, well-protected by the Union and its ships.", Her voice asked in a slurred tone as she waved the other in the direction of Gentiana in order that it be. understand what was going on. She had invested too much on this change of scenario, moved so many assets and captured too many land to abdicate all of it immediately without fighting for it.

It soon became apparent to Ingrid that there were more serious problems here than she thought when they received the message from ZU. A space station was the first thing they saw and an incoming message from Alli Vern Alli Vern also came from there. What the woman had sent arrived, and Ingrid also forwarded them to the right place.

”Alli Vern, with the fleet we are heading towards the coordinates, I am sending rescue teams to the space station, they are expected to arrive in 15-20 minutes. Until then, try to persevere.”

The Overlord also knew that there had been a change of leadership at ZU a few months ago. The red-haired woman and STRATCOM were able to cope with this task, they were able to handle the coup and not collapse the Eternal Empire. Apparently ZU was not able to do that. Meanwhile, the Nite data also arrived for her, that there were quite large revolts and uprisings. The next person to sign in was Ben Craig Ben Craig .

”Chairman send us the exact coordinates and I will send an evacuation team or law enforcement force there, depending on what you need.”

In addition, Ingrid even saw a fleet here in the system on the scanners. If all was true, it was the Tomb Fleet, though she did not know the ZU military to such depth. However, the next call confirmed that it was really the Tomb Fleet she had seen on the radar. @Charles Castex’s raw message was clear and firm. Ingrid liked straight and brittle people.

”Your request is completely understandable Commander, I promise that anyone who seeks asylum from us will be safe in the territory of the Eternal Empire, and we will not hand them over to any future ZU government. We will take care of them as if they had always been citizens of the Eternal Empire. I promise you that!”

Ingrid was different from Tacitus in this respect. She always kept what she promised, it was pretty well known about her, that she is very straightforward from a military standpoint. Thus, she did not intend to break this promise either now or later. Meanwhile, the four ships launched hunters and evacuation troops toward the planet and the space station, while the Star Destroyers also approached the two targets.

"Failure?" He allowed the words to escape his clenched jaw before extinguishing the cigar on his desk. His blue eyes flashed red for a brief moment, as he adjusted himself in his chair, his attention focused on the hologram on his left which displayed the dwindling systems of the Union, which were all currently under siege.

All except the Redoubt.

"I'm not exactly a politician but I'd blame this on failed policies. Or maybe some people were planning something before. I honestly don't know. But I did not fail." His uniform was noticeably lacking a rank plate, and instead of wearing white gloves he wore black ones, covered in a unidentifiable red liquid. "Paranoia is already overtaking the streets. I know the smell of death all too well...but so do the Vultures"

He was referencing two things, the fall of the Empire and the so called rebellion he was facing now. The nation had been split in two political spectrums following Ben Craig Ben Craig 's ascension but thankfully the true most powerful men and women of the Union had remained on the Chairman's side or neutral like himself.

"But, none of the really matters. My former lieutenant has a position of authority in this new revolution and had acsess to my defense plans concerning the Redoubt" He paused to drink a glass of what the Chiss called alcohol before resuming. "Call me overprotective, but I don't want you or my assets there. The Eternal Empire has been contacted. Plus, I hear Bakura is beautiful this time of the year. So, shall I inform the Empress Regent, my dear?"

The shuttle flew to one of the larger Star Destroyers in orbit above Schesa. Air traffic was restricted to only high tier government officials and the military. "Sir, we've received word that there are attacks on the Redoubt, Volik and Ilum. We cannot confirm who the attackers are, but it appears to be more orchestrated and prepared than mere locals." Ben frowned in disappointment. "Send the First Fleet to Volik and any nearby fleets to the other planets. Contact the local garrisons and embassies to go to defcon 1." The captain nodded and bent over to listen to incoming instructions. "The Eternal Empire has requested coordinates and exact aid they are to provide." He nodded, "Tell them to send any forces they can to our capital. They can hold back the insurgents and allow enough time for the rest of our forces to pull back."

He curled his fists into balls as his temper rose. "Initiate the Craig protocol and Contingency 45. As soon as our forces and the Eternal Empire's forces have withdrawn, order our ships to fire on Schesa." The captain looked at Ben in fright, "Are you sure sir?" Ben stared out of the viewport and to Schesa. He said nothing. "Understood." The captain gave the order. Thankfully over 75% of the Union forces had withdrawn and relocated to Eternal Empire space. If Ben couldn't have Schesa, no one would. Orbital Bombardment was the only way. There would be no more Schesa.

The EE fleet that was here received the coordinates that Ben Craig Ben Craig sent them. They were given coordinates for a single location to go to the ZU capital. So Ingrid issued the order to approach the planet as they were here in the system. There weren’t many enemy ships that were nearby, they were too small to take up the fight with these four ships.

Previously launched dropships and fighters kept their way to the coordinates given earlier, as did the space station. But it would have been unnecessary to launch a larger army from such a distance to the planet, since they would never get there, and then it would be perfectly sufficient to launch them from the space around the planet. In any case, she responded to the message from the capital on the communication channel.

”We headed for Schesa. Our arrival is expected in about 20-25 minutes. From then on, the ground units will need an additional 5-10 minutes to reach the ground.”

Since they were made anyway, they expected that there could be a fight as the units were already waiting in the hangar for departure. So on this issue, there was no interruption in this. Thanks to this and the fact that they were here with well-equipped ships, they soon arrived on the planet unless something came in handy. If not and they are around orbit, Ingrid re-open the channel in the direction of Ben Craig Ben Craig .

”The ships have taken up the position outside the atmosphere, the units heading for the capital.” she said.

Red looked out the viewport of the shuttle, there, below, the city was in chaos. He could see riots and firefights happening in the streets, blaster fire going everywhere. Off in the distance, he could see the flames of other riots and skirmishes happening. The situation had escalated quite quickly.

This was it, Red could feel it. Reading the reports of what was happening all across the Union, the Union was falling apart. If things were this bad everywhere, then the Union would fall within a couple of days, collapsing in upon itself. But how had they gotten to this point? How could the Union have fallen so far?

Red knew, he knew all of it. Being the Chief of Secret Police allowed him to... know certain things. The ISB had been busy recently, trying to clean up the deteriorating mess, but it had been useless; all of their work had been for nothing. The Union was surely falling. And it was all because of the power vacuum left by the Chancellors. Of course, Red had sided with Chairman Craig, he was the one that recruited Red in the first place, so of course Red would follow him. But still... not even Craig could stop what was happening to the Union.

Another shuttle flew alongside Red's. Red looked up at the other shuttle. In it, he could see Subject 82 Snow , looking back at him. They were both wearing their battle armor, and their helmet's were already on their heads. Both being ISB, it made sense they would cooperate to try and keep the situation relatively stable for as long as possible.

Snow made a hand signal, motioning forward, then held up a two. Two minutes out. Red nodded, then turned to the soldiers in his shuttle.

"T-minus two minutes! Get ready for contact!" He told them. Two more shuttles had pulled up alongside them, bringing within them ISB troops and storm troopers.

Next, he received two messages, one from the Eternal Empire, and one from the Chairman. Red listened to the one from the Eternal Empire first. So... The Empire had responded to their plea for help. That was good, and not a moment too soon, too. The situation was at a breaking point.

Listening to the one from the Chairman, he paused. They were going to orbital bombard the planet?! But there were still so many friendly forces down there!
And civilians still allied with the Union! Even government officials! Red could understand activating the order, sure, even though he was a Jedi, he understood the need for the order, but still! It was far too soon to activate that order.

He raised his commlink, contacting the Empress Regent. "Chairman, this is Chief Red, reporting in. We're headed into the city. We still have friendly forces in the city, and we need to evac them. We also have VIPs trapped down there. I'll try and get as many out as I can, but I'll need time. Do you have any forces on standby?" Red told him through the commlink. "We're going to head to the Residential District, some of our forces got trapped their, and we have reports that a VIP's transport got shot down. I'll report back in once we reach the LZ." Red said.

Then, he contacted the Empress Regent from the Empire. "Empress Regent, I'm Chief Red, from the Union. Good to have reinforcements. Do you have any that you can send to the residential district? We'll take whatever we ca-" Red got cut off as an explosion rocked the shuttle.

"What was that?" He asked the pilots.

"Sir! It seems like the freedom fighters have taken over the local garrison! They're firing at us with the heavier weaponry!" The pilot replied as more explosions started rocking the shuttle.

"Evasive maneuvers! Hang on tight!" Red yelled out.

The pilot started making the shuttle bob and weave, avoiding the heavy fire. One of the other shuttles got shot down, crashing down into the buildings below in a spiral of flames and smoke.

"We need to put down! We'll never make it to the LZ!" Red yelled over his commlink to the three remaining shuttles.

"I don't have anywhere to put us down, sir! It's too hot!"

"Then slow us down and get us as close to the ground as we can; we're jumping out!" Red said. The pilot nodded. The shuttle went down towards the ground, getting as close as they could. The other shuttles followed suit.

"Get ready! We're jumping out!" He told the soldiers in the shuttle. They nodded and finished up their preparations.

The doors to the shuttle opened. They were about 8 meters above the ground. He could see the streets below. The shuttle had slowed down enough so that if they hit the ground they wouldn't break anything

"It's now or never!" The pilot yelled.

"Go! Go! Go!" Red yelled, jumping out of the shuttle. He flew downwards for a second, before hitting the ground, he pulled into a roll, before coming up on his knees, aiming down the streets.

There was no one around. At least, no one was making their presence known. He knew that they were there, but where he had no idea. He could hear the other soldiers jumping out of the shuttle and landing on the ground behind him. He watched as the last of the soldiers had jumped out, and the three shuttles flew off, returning to safe territory.

Red turned to Snow, who looked at him. "Alright, we need to reach the objective. We're a bit off, but if we move carefully we can make it. Let's use the buildings as cover, they'll hide us from sight." Red told the troops.

Snow nodded. "Agreed. Let's just hope those freedom fighters aren't too good of shots. They no doubt have snipers in the buildings."

"Well then, stick close to the buildings. We all ready?"

The soldiers nodded their assent. Good, they were all ready. "Alright, let's move out." Raising his commlink again, he sent another message to the Eternal Empire. "We had to bail out of our shuttles, the enemy fire was too strong. We're at least 4 and a half klicks from the LZ. We are proceeding on foot, how copy, over?" He said into the commlink, before moving through the city, leading the soldiers through the buildings.

Alli Vern wasn't too worried, That was what security was for after all. However it was time to make a power play. Having been afraid of this very thing, she didn't want to see billions killed again. Not after what happened on Druckenwell, she wouldn't let others battles wreck innocent lives. Craig had the nerve to pull out his forces but left citizens to die. She opened up a direct line to Tranquility.

"Tranquility Begin the protocol 000751."

Soon Alli's face was everywhere that was formerly occupied by Tranquility. She had a grim face and her background showed that her location was under attack as the room shook and sparked but she stood firm and addressed the camera.

"People of the Zweihander Union, For too long your safety has come second to those in power. Even now, hostile forces attempt to kill me like they do you. They rove our planets killing innocents. All to attempt to satisfy their thirst for power. I am here to rescue you. If you need somewhere safe to evacuate Look to the sky. I have ships landing in Union planets everywhere to evac you to safety. Please note that hostile intent will be returned and that we will fit as many people as we can inside. If you rather stick it out and hide in a active warzone then you are free to but this is the last chance. The fact is that the Union has destabilized. No one can guarantee your safety in planets formerly controlled by the Union but if you board one of my rescue vessels, you can count on me to do my best to get you out of danger. Please follow Secretary Tranquility's instructions and board in a civil manner. "

The order was given and ships appeared out of the wood work appearing in space protected by loyal remnants of the Union fleet and they began their approach. She replied to the EE forces.
"Your rescue is just in time I was too focused on rescuing innocents, Can you please make sure to protect the Exodus-class bulk freighter's entering space as they rescue as many citizens as we can fit on board? They have droids on board to guard the ships them selves but don't have much in the way of ship to ship defenses. I am holding off for now and am awaiting your troop's arrival."

Tranquility began routing evacuations to the landing sights and spaceports across union space as she also coordinated with the ships themselves. All bearing the new logo of the Zweihander Union. It also had a much smaller logo of Tanlab Industries. She made sure that friendly forces saw them as green, updating any ship she could access to see them as friendlies. Then she got to send a message to Ben Craig himself.

"Former Chancellor Ben Craig, Firing on that planet will trigger my processes to send the recording of this warcrime across the holonet . Shouldn't this bother an organic, the death of untold millions or billions? If you can live with ending them then do so but let it be known that I will be landing rescue craft and they are taking as many people as we can get and if you destroy them, you will be held accountable. "

Tranquility then began further assisting loyal forces and trying to help anyone she could. Organic life could not be easily replace, it was not just a procedure of copying code and installing it on another machine. She had no problem eliminating hostile organics but this seemed to move far beyond that. It crossed her bottom line.
