DESCRIPTION

The WC97 Heavy Cruiser was designed as the heaviest and biggest variant of the Wyndham Corporation's Type 90 Line. It was decided after some assessments and observations that the Medium Cruiser and the Light Cruiser were more designed for patrolling systems instead of direct combat due to their overall modest firepower. The WC97 was developed in response to this discovery and was given over to the Mon Calamari Engineering Team which had previously worked on the other two variants. Although the cost of the Type 90 Line was becoming unprofitable to the Corporation after the team went over the budget.

The WC97 Heavy Cruiser comes equipped with Very Heavy Armaments to fend off other cruisers who would go up against it. Although in order to fit more weaponries on the design, the hanger space was considerably decreased which makes it vulnerable to starfighters and bombers. Although the shielding was carried over from the WC93 Medium Cruiser which allows it to withstand punishment for a time. The Hanger Space can hold 5 Squadrons of Starfighters and 2 Squadrons of Support Craft.
