Kahlil snickered just a little as they both were quick to fire, but just as quick to miss. It wasn't too surprising, hip firing was wildly inaccurate, especially in untrained hands. But that's not what he was trying to teach them. No, he wanted them to better tune into the Force as they always had. Just.. In a different way. If anything it should've been easier for Valery than Vera, which had him with a slightly smug expression.

"Don't think about it like you're holding a gun. The Force is one with us. We breath it as if it was the air we need to survive, naturally and without thought. So don't think. Just act. Again."

Valery narrowed her eyes at his smugness. She knew exactly what he was thinking, so she was going to show him now. Hopefully...eventually. His advice snapped het back into focus though, and with all of her experience, tapping into the Force as a natural extension of the body and mind wasn't that difficult to her. Vera, however, blinked and tried her very best as well. But as the next target popped up, Valery was much quicker on the draw, guided by the Force, but still not as accurate. Her shot hit the side of thr target - a hit but not one that would have neutralized a threat.

"I got it!" Valery grinned.

"No fair."

Valery blinked and squinted at Vera. "What do you mean, no fair? I'm not cheating."

"Mommy is older," Vera said with a huff that even made Valery feel like she was looking in the mirror.

"Hey, I'm not old." She looked at Kahlil, who was probably enjoying himself now, while Vera just giggled. "Besides, it's not about winning." She looked smug at her daughter now.

Vera squinted back and huffed again, "Okay." This time, she didn't wait for the next target to appear, but closed her eyes and allowed the future to tell her exactly when it would pop up. She fired, a split-second before her mother, and struck the target dead center in the head. "I win!" Vera was quick to call out with a huge grin, while Valery pouted a little bit. Luckily, these were just the basics. There was probably a lot more to it. What if there were multiple targets?

"Did I do it right, daddy?"

"Good, good."

Kahlil nodded slowly, smiling as he glanced between the two. Vera's headshot was a surprise for him, but was it just luck? No, there was no such thing as luck. He just smirked towards Valery, a taunting raise of his brow the only thing he'd give her in response. If he was going to teach them both, he was going to do so his way. Like this. He raised a hand, pulling up more targets, quick as can be.

"Don't stop."

Oh, she saw that taunt.

Felt it as well, through their bond. It sharpened her senses and made her stubbornly want to show him what she could do. So as the first group of targets popped up, Valery's shots were a lot more accurate, but she still clearly wasn't used to the weapon. The more she fired, the less accurate each subsequent shot became, and Vera struggled in a similar way.

Although Vera was also blasting the walls and ceiling a little too much. Not because she lacked the guidance of the Force, but just because of recoil and weapon handling.

They were improving though - both of them. But to wrap up this part of the exercise, Valery decided to test if Dad was paying attention and fired her last bolt straight for his chest with a smug grin. "Oops!" She called out, and Vera just giggled along, waiting to see what would happen.

Kahlil didn't even bat an eye as he brought up a hand to catch the bolt coming his way. Then he looked towards her, smirking. "Oops indeed. If you can't handle your blaster safely, maybe we should hold off on this training, mm?" He lowered his hand, stepping over to reach down and gently take the gun from her hands.

"Unless of course, that was on purpose?"

Oh, "Mommy is in troubleeee," Vera said with a big giggle, while Valery narrowed her eyes at him. She knew exactly what he was doing, teasing her like this. But when he reached for her weapon, she stubbornly pulled it away and huffed a little, "It was on purpose," she admitted.

"Had to make sure the Force was guiding you too, love," she grinned and Vera was giggling like a maniac.

"Nuh uh, mommy just wanted to get you back, daddy!" She called out to add a bit of fuel to the fun family fire.

"Guess you caught me. What now?" She waggled her eyebrows to taunt

"You'll get your punishment later. It's dangerous to just take a shot at someone, after all." Valery knew just what was going to happen, and he certainly wasn't going to say anything in front of Vera. He glanced to them both before shifting his hand to reset the room to how it was. Chuckled shortly after.

"For now, though, this is fine. Keep working on it, alright? Both of you."

Vera seemed to love that her mother was in "trouble", and even jumped up and down a little while she giggled. But not a moment later, she did seem confused that Valery just looked at him with a grin, rather than a pout. She definitely knew what was going to happen, but they left it unspoken for obvious reasons. "I promise it won't happen again, love," Valery said before she puckered her lips and stepped closer.

She gave him a quick peck, causing Vera to blink, and smiled at him, "A sorry kiss." She grinned and turned to Vera now, who was just staring at her parents.

"That was fun huh, sweetie? We'll practice more together too."

"Mhmm! I want to learn more!" She said with another hop of excitement before she turned to her father. "Daddy? Where are we going now?"

"To the next job, the next problem. We're on vacation for now, but this is how we're going to live our lives. Even when we go back to Coruscant and return to being Jedi. We're doing it all together." He flashed a warm smile to both of them, especially at the quick peck, before he stepped past them both towards the Bastion ramp.

"For now though, pancakes. Let's have some pancakes."

Valery caught his warm smile, and offered one in return. It felt good to see them all this happy, so focused and ready to take on whatever came next. There would be difficult times again, she knew it, but it all felt a lot easier to confront when they were together like this.

"Together," Valery echoed with a chuckle before pancakes were brought up.

"Yess! Pancakes!" Vera took off, sprinting ahead of her parents to get ready for pancakes. But somewhere along the way, she stopped and ran to the bedroom of her siblings first. If the family was going to enjoy pancakes, they would have to be there, even if they couldn't eat pancakes yet themselves.
