STANDARD FEATURES
  • Standard Deflector Shields allows for the ship to move at maximum aerodynamic lift/drag ratios in atmosphere and provide good protection against standard weapons fire.
  • Thrust/Engine Vectoring system allows for rapid changes in direction and quick stops for dropping off troops, and keeps the ship relatively mobile even under a heavy weapons load.
  • FIE-2 in the rear of the vessel provide massive thrust to weight ratio allowing this ship to haul everything from troops, to vehicles, to large cargo containers and still maintain a good top speed.
  • Chaff/Flare Dispensers offer pilot a good counter to air-to-air missiles and SAM launches. Paired with a Missile Detection/Early Warning System allows for the dropship to have a chance to evade and defeat enemy missiles.
  • M-44 Autocannon gives the dropship good firepower even if it's not carrying any ordinance
  • Troop Bay can carry 20 soldiers and their gear with a vehicle or cargo container hanging off the back of the ship. That being said don't try to carry a vehicle and go full on Fangs Out configuration or you're gonna be super sluggish and slow until you drop the vehicle.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Eagle Eye Targeting/Fire Control System in the turreted nose mount gives the gunner of the drop ship excellent targeting capabilities to not only engage with the M-44 but any missiles aboard the ship. Also allows for targeting from friendly laser designations and datalinks with targeting data, allowing this act in the gunship role. Also allows for the full utilization of the M.L.M.S. Zeus Launchers on the ship making smart munitions able to do smart munition things.
  • Phrik-A/FM-001/SYC gives great all around protection when shields fail. This includes making it more difficult to tamper with the ship with force abilities, using Ion weapons against it, and just giving it generally better than average protection with the Phrik-A armored skin on the ship while maintaining good power to weight ratios.
  • Troop bay is completely environmentally sealed and is also sealed from the cockpit. This allows for the cockpit to maintain life support if the troop bay gets breached and vice versa.
  • Missile hardpoints allow the ship to either carry missile pods, missile racks, or single missiles to give the ship the ability to outfit itself for different levels of combat. And all of the hardpoints/racks are M.L.M.S. compatible meaning that they can program smarter munitions.
STRENGTHS
  • Versatile Dropship: This drop ship is meant to be a multi-role style ship with the ability to not only carry troops into battle but also be outfitted with several configurations to either allow it maximum mobility or maximum firepower to deliver and then support combat troops deployed to the field of combat. And with the base loadout having an M-44 Autocannon to give this ship some teeth, I wouldn't want to be in its sights.
WEAKNESSES
  • It's not a fighter: This ship is meant to carry troops, equipment, and even vehicles to the surface of planets both in peace time and in war zones. In order to accomplish this it has to be heavier, and more heavily armed than most fighters meaning that this ship will suffer at a pretty good disadvantage to enemy fighters. That being said do not underestimate this craft especially if it's in Standard or Fangs Out Configurations, as the Missiles it carries can surprise pilots looking for an easy kill. But that being said you should probably leave the dogfighting to the fighters when it comes to this ship.
DESCRIPTION
With the destruction and rebirth of The Dire Wolves Mercenary Company into The Dire Wolves Paramilitary Organization, new sizes and needs dictated that new equipment was to sourced. The one of the first being actual transport craft as the Dire Wolves now had a Star Destroyer instead of a Light Frigate that could land with relative ease. The War Hound is that innovation, taking the aggressive and adaptable design philosophy of TDW and giving it the form of a small gunship that has the capability to carry infantry to the ground and even various vehicles. This allows this ship to not only be used in combat zones, but also in support of civilian operations making it perfect to deliver supplies as you can attach a large crate to the back end of the vessel and carry larger loads of supplies that way. Or in some cases, medium to heavy vehicles. With a frontal turret mount containing the ship's primary weapon system of a 35mm Autocannon with a targeting system to match, this ship can very easily defend itself should the need arise. And to go on the attack, either single missiles or missile racks can be attached to the wing hard points, allowing the ship to either be light or heavily armed support. This makes the dropship able to drop off its cargo of twenty heavily armed and extremely scary infantry and give them even more options to fix and then annihilate whatever they come across. So hop aboard, strap in, and hold on tight, because we're on a one way elevator going straight to hell.

Going down.

The Monster The Monster Ratings looks fine, but if I could have you clarify your weakness - as it stands it comes off like a strength. I do have a question about the configurations, how easily that can be swapped around during PvP?

Fiolette Raaf So to clarify on the weakness, this thing is heavy, especially when its under a larger payload of either weapons or vehicles. That means this thing is gonna fly like a brick compared to much faster, more agile, and much much lighter fighter craft that is meant to be an aerospace superiority or interceptor type craft. That means that you're gonna want to actually keep these ships out of the dogfight as much as possible as while they have a few tricks up their sleeve, most good pilots are gonna be able to outmaneuver and mop the floor with these drop ships.

As far as the swapping of weapons mounts, taking things off would be super easy as you can just jettison the racks in question, but putting stuff back on would take at least a post or two of the ships landing, swapping out current loadout for another, and then taking back off and that's if you're just sticking within the current sized load out. If you're trying to jump from a standard configuration to a Fangs Out Configuration that's going to take even longer as you have to remove the racks manually because they have live munitions on them, and then install the heavier racks with even more munitions. So this isn't a one post suddenly these ships are rearmed or have different load outs. Rearming ships takes time, and I like for my subs to reflect that even though I know most RPers don't account for it.

Thank you for the review!
