Built for close quarters combat, the VSF Jackal was commissioned by Vulpesen so that his men might have a weapon idea for clearing rooms, or fighting foes in close quarters. Fitting within the theme of duality that appears in most Vitae weapons, the Jackal was given two settings which allow it to shoot both as a SMG Blaster, and a blaster tech scattergun. This setting also makes the weapon fairly dangerous against force users who might attempt to use a lightsaber to defend themselves. While the SMG mode might have a lower stopping power, its quick rate of fire and round count make it a deadly weapon in terms of sheer volume. Alternatively, the scattergun function, while having a significantly lower round count, can fire two dozen “pellets” at an effective range of fifty yards with each “pellet” being more damaging than the average SMG round.
