Archbeacon of Ossus
Objective: Celebrate!
Ossus. Ancestral home of the Jedi, and now a rural planet under the Crusade's complete control. The planet itself had seen much turmoil in the past century or so, and if records were to be believed, even beyond that. This place, echoing with both the Bogan and Ashla, had weathered storm after storm. It was a remarkable planet, with lightning storms that could level entire cities. The Crusade had been here only a short time, but the improvements laid out for the people had already taken hold. In fact, more and more people were coming to Ossus to live, as the Crusade had made the planet both livable and enjoyable.
The rural planet was also home to the tribal Ysanna, a networked group of individuals strong in the Force itself. Though they were not directly allied with the Crusade, the Ysanna were cordial enough. Clergy had been ordered by Tarsus to assist the tribal leaders of the Ysanna, and also provide a direct path to enlightenment. The species was well-known for their marked Force sensitivity, and their populace would be well-suited for both Templars and Jury members.
Today was to be a grand day of celebration. A recent tribal leader of the Ysanna had recently converted to Ashla's Light, and as such was integrating his entire tribe into the urban centers. Archbeacon Tarsus ordered an entire day of parties and frivolity because of this change of diplomacy, though Tarsus hoped this would just make things easier for the other tribes. This tribal leader was one of a few dozen, and the process of converting them all would be incredibly slow.
The marketplace was incredibly packed, with people hollering and enjoying music of all types. The local merchants had their stalls open, with reduced prices for goods and food. Locals living in the area were happy to join in the celebration, and the cultural melting pot would be good for the joining Ysanna. A feast of sorts was also planned in the evening, one that was costing the Crusade a pretty credit to throw. Tarsus had to do some serious political maneuvering to pull off the funding, and was quite successful in the end.
Tarsus was seated in a ceremonial speeder, the top open for him to wave at the various people. This was a religious celebration as much as it was a political one. The people needed to see the Crusade as favorable, and they also needed to see Tarsus out in public. Their had been murmurs of his age and whether or not he could administrate the sector well enough. Tarsus needed to squash those hideous rumors before they grew into serious trouble.
Dressed in his ceremonial Archbeacon robes, the elderly man waved to the crowd as his driver slowly drove down the main street of the city itself. Ossus was much too rural for sky speeders, with streets and alleyways still a major part of the few urban centers.
"Shall we speed this along, Archbeacon?" asked the driver, looking back at him.
"Nonsense boy! The people are happy to see the Crusade, and they deserve good favor today." Tarsus continued his gestures towards the people, crowds of all types lining the streets. A small secure presence of Templars were following the slow procession, though not as many as one would expect. Tarsus had asked for a reduced amount of soldiers today, mostly on the idea that too many would make the procession line look cluttered.
Taking a deep breath as he surveyed the crowd of people, Tarsus nodded absent-mindedly. Today was a good day.
