Having made a rifle capable of mounting a grenade launcher, Chi set about to make a launcher for the rifle. Without knowing what munitions appealed to the Galactic Alliance Defense Force or wanting to develop a whole series of bespoke warheads, she decided on making a launcher that could simply fire anything that fit through the barrel.
Loading through a rear-opening breach, the flex tube can only fit one shell or warhead at a time, a magazine capable of loading multiple types of munitions being too complicated for a light system on a rifle. This also limits the rate of fire to how fast a soldier can reload. When firing, munitions can be set to impact, timer, or airburst detonation at a pre-set range using the inbuilt rangefinder.
For ease of use, the Vector Munitions Launcher can sync with an operator’s HUD to provide targeting data and trajectory, as well as confirm lock for guided munitions. Though attachable to any weapon capable of fitting one or even usable without mounting to a weapon; the VML was intended for use with the LV-PR, and as such was made to be as dependable in the same extreme environments without fouling.
