LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Kratos
  • Planetary Features: The world is precisely settled and has urban centers where it is economically useful or militarily reasonable, even mixing. Large parts of the most northern continent are empty, reserved for military manoeuvers. There are very few huge metropolitan regions, vast lands covered in fields for grain or livestock, horizon spanning industrial complexes but also a lot of untouched nature like the oceans where some smaller cities are located which dedicated themselves to fishing and similar economic aspects. Often cities are built at or around mountains or hills to provide natural defensive positions. Spread around the world, in vital areas as well as in very remote and dangerous areas, are bastions of the Legion, housing the elite soldiers for training or guard duty.
    • High Vandemar, the Heavens Principality: The realm of High Vandemar thrones above the world, a symbol of freedom for the people below, a symbol of warning to those who defy the values of the Principality. Officially built with ancient repulsorlift technology, but actually due a gravitational anomaly caused by Isotope-5, the home of the Legions and the Princeps is only reachable by aircraft, but only accessible by the personal granting of an Imperator, the Castellan or the Princeps himself. Highcastle is the primary and by far biggest complex of High Vandemar, guarded by the indomitable Legions and their Aegis Agema companions.
    • The Second Realm: It was many centuries after the original settlement that the people of Vandemar were attacked. Below the actual surface, several kilometers, exists a second 'surface', caverns, caves, halls, uncounted corridors and going deeper than any Vandemarian ever ventured or could imagine. Rock, stone, lava, water - it has an own and very different ecosystem, a hollow earth, with own inhabitants. The Supreme Command of Vandemar is aware of the presence of the rare Isotype-5 in the deepest caverns of the Second Realm but keeps the information disclosed due to the rarity and volatility of the resource. The lie was spread that High Vandemar is held by ancient repulsorlift technology, but is actually a gravitational anomaly caused by the source of Isotope-5 thousands of meters below the surface.
      • Isotope-5: Vandemar holds a small amount of this rare resource. During the billions of years of the planets formation, the presence of this material was the cause of the 'three' surfaces of Vandemar, today known as High Vandemar, the Second Realm and the 'actual' surface. Creating a hollow earth which was later used by the refugees who would settle below the surface. The presence of the material is explained by the Vandemarian system orbiting a neutron star, the leftover of a type II supernova some billions of years ago which created extreme gravitational anomalies in the system, including on the largest planet, Vandemar itself. The 'actual system' which orbits the star Olympia, after which it is named, was originally a destroyed mass of radioactive planetoids, which rotated with immense speed around Horus, the leftover of the former massive star, its speed maintained by the enormous gravity of the neutron star. But over millions of years, the 'system' moved further and further away from the star itself, due to its speed and in conjunction wit the gravity Olympia emits itself. Many years of geographical development have made Vandemar habitable, the radioactivity creating a form of source of life for flora, yet no fauna. And also resulting in the illerium fragments which were left on the planet, turning into Isotope-5.
  • Major Locations:
    • Kratos: The capital city of Vandemar, carved into the feet of the Arx Tyrannis mountains. The first settlers arrived here roughly four-thousand years ago, Zakuulans all together and laid the foundation of the current civilisation. The location was chosen as veines of Songsteel ore ran through the part of the Arx Tyrannis mountains, the valley seemingly established by a hit of a meteorite tens of thousands of years ago. Their ruler, Aurelian Sigismund, cut the simple opulence and decadence of the Zakuulan society out and moved it to a symbiosis with pragmatism and militarism. The city itself is planned by military engineers and raised to be defendable, hence why there are strict population controls and forced migration to other parts of the planet. The city seems to cozily hug a small valley at the mountain side, a steep inclination can be felt when walking the broad, paved streets, originally a river ran through it. The city itself is mainly coated in white marble with blue and green roofs, using arches, domes and columns as primary pillars of their architecture. Amphitheatres, forums and gardens spread around the city to provide cultural and social places as well as economic ones. The city was divided into four rings with each representing a step higher into the rock of the Arx Tyrannis mountains.
      • First Ring: Protected by a thirty meter high and fifteen meters thick wall of duracrete, alusteel and duranium, three gates, heavy artillery and heavy aa mounts in wall-integrated bunkers. Local shield emitters. The first ring houses the majority of the population, mainly workers and soldiers. All buildings stop fifty meters in front of the second ring, a cleared space. Streets are in zig-zag scheme. (Altitude: 731 meters)
      • Second Ring: Protected by a thirty-six meter high and sixteen meters thick wall of duracrete, alusteel and duranium, two gates, heavy aa mounts in wall-integrated bunkers. Local shield emitters. The second ring houses the majority of the industry and economy as well as markets and a civil spaceport. (Altitude: 760 meters)
      • Third Ring: Protected by a forty meter high and eighteen meter thick wall of duracrete, alusteel and duranium, one gate, heavy aa mounts in wall-integrated bunkers, local shield emitters. The third ring houses all barracks, armories and forges, most vital parts are below the surface in a bunkers as well, protecting the martial aspect of the city, it also hosts the military spaceport and hangars of the city. (Altitude: 802 meters)
      • Fourth Ring: Protected by a forty meter high and twenty meter thick wall of duracrete, alusteel and duranium, one gate, heavy artillery and heavy AA batteries in wall-integrated bunkers, local shield emitters. The fourth ring is home to House Sigismund and the Golden Keep, the palace of planetary government and administration. It holds one of the two land based accesses to Highcastle, a passage directly carved into the foundations of stone in the mountain. More hangars are located deep in the rock of the mountains. (Altitude: 900 meters)
    • Highcastle: The home and birthplace of the Vandemarian Legions, the fortress is a skyborn citadel, floating thousands of meters above the actual surface and the so called "First Realm" where the actual colonisation occured. It is the chosen seat of power of the Princeps and ruler of Vandemar and the Legions. Soldiers modified and bred for war, technologies and science refining the process over centuries. Now the Legion thrones over the planet, watching and guarding it as well as looking up to consolidate their place among the stars. It holds barracks, training halls, meditation rooms, hangars, armouries, communication centers and the supreme command posts for the Vandemarian military. Furthermore it has the control center for the entire planetary defence. White and grey marble, golden and a gothic building style can be found everywhere.
      • Hall of Heroes: The central and biggest hall in Highcastle, its architecture brilliant to the very last corner. Two hundred columns hold the high ceiling, they are used to inscribe the names of the fallen legionnaires. It is rumored that the High Imperator knows every single name. Banners hang from the high ceiling, cover the walls, magnificent windows of coloured glass depict scenes of valor and glory, a huge mosaic of fine, flawless gems is on the floor, showing the history of Vandemar.
      • Olympus Vulcanus: The name was given to it by one of the first Forgelords of Vandemar to the industrial smithing and forging manufactories in Highcastle, dedicated to deliver the best equipment to the Legions, they work day and night, drawing their resources from the planet as well as trade.
      • Curia Magna: The throne room, the home of the Vandemarian government, even though only Exarchs are allowed to enter, once a month for the council session. Otherwise even they need approval of the Imperators. On a high balcony thrones Aurelian Sigismund, the absolute and near divine ruler of Vandemar, offering justice, order and equality to his people and subjects.
        • Court-1.jpg
      • The Heavenly Throne: The throne of the Princeps of Vandemar, the High Imperators seat of power and command. Located in the throne hall directly next to the Curia Magna, the hall is always guarded by a unit of Agema Aegis. The throne itself is more than just a simple chair and is connected to the entirety of the Vandemarian defense network and can only be accessed through the actual genetical code of Aurelian Sigismund or an emergency code entered by the Legions Castellan and First Spear. Additionally it has been fitted with GEMINI technology and could control a large fleet of warships which are steered and controlled by GEMINI droid captains or similarly programed units.
        • 8bdee2c337514b3646ed8baffdecaef9.jpg
      • The Imperial Portal: The only entrance to Highcastle and High Vandemar for non-Legion members, it is a large gate reinforced with Songsteel, Alusteel, Laminamium and Auromidium, nearly indestructible. In front of it is a large platform to hold even a cruiser-sized ship, but with the option to break it into many smaller platforms on the blink of the gatekeeper.
        • Gate-1.png
      • anthony-eftekhari-d3-02.jpg
    • Altaeviar: The industrial hub of the planet, Altaeviar is both a megapolis as well as the ore-rich region around it. Dedicated to the mining and refinement of ores, Altaeviar is the beating heart of the military industry of Vandemar. The factories there also hold the monopoly on the mightiest warmachines of the Legions. The region itself is on the same continent as Kratos, but is home to nearly 500 million people, all employed in the factories, refineries or transport services. It is one of the Exarchies of Vandemar and thire Exarchs are usually from the industrial families.
    • Hiperias: The city of Hiperias shares a similar devotion as Altaeviar, but mainly supplies the Auxillaries, with the exception that it is the biggest mining hub for Auromidium, which is refined and then in its entirety send to Highcastle. This Exarchy is controlled by nobility.
    • Iarvaeth Magna: The giant urban area called Iarvaeth Magna is the capital of the southern continent, the warmest zones on the planet. While the northerners often look down upon the 'softness' of the southern people, they are not very different and provide a vital contribution to the worlds economy and survival. All food is produced here as well as consumer goods as well as a large portion of the marble quarries can be found here. The Exarchy is usually controlled by the local nobility.
    • Maelpereia Prime: One of the smaller cities on Vandemar, it is nevertheless one of the most visited and important hubs of trade, exchange and diplomacy. Located on an island between the two continents, it is a city built for the purpose of appeal. It is magnificent, but not decadent, beautiful but not opulent. Attractive to merchants, traders, diplomats and even tourists it has some of the most beautiful amphitheatres, circuses and hotels as well as a residence solely for official diplomatic delegations. Its Exarch is usually a high ranking diplomat and picked by the High Imperator himself.
    • Ring of Talos: Not on Vandemar, but in its orbit, the Ring of Mordia is the home to the Vandemarian Navy, the chariots of the Legions. Dockyards, drydocks wharfs and trade centers are located on the three semi-circles which rotate in a stable orbit around the world. Extensive defensive measures are included from weapons to shield systems. They move above the planetary shield.
    • The Exarchies: Exarchies are the fiefs of Vandemar, governed by an Exarch who is a selected individual, accepted by the local population and approved by the Princeps, they are his hand in government and administrative matters as well as local military commanders.
    • Legion Strongholds: Across the planet and the system itself you find standardised Legion Strongholds, fortresses designed to house up to a Legion of the Vandemarian elite warriors. They are all dominated by a central spire and rings of high walls with different districts inside, devoted to different purposes and working like compartments in a siege. The strongholds are located at entrances to the Second Realm.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: (All brought here by settlers or projects in the centuries and millennia preceeding the actual colonisation)
  • Immigrated Species:
  • Population: Heavy (5.7 billion)
  • Demographics: 57% Humans, 21% Zabrak, 11% Thyrsian, 5% Echani, 4% Arkanian, 2% Anomid
    • Vandemar was originally colonised by humans only, but due to the strict control its overlord enacted, he was able to bring in species he wanted to have in. Therefore over the centuries and even millennia bringing more voluntary colonists onto his planet to give it exactly the population he wanted and which would suit his needs. Racism or xenophobia are absolutely unknown, the people living together in harmonic symbiosis and accepting off-worlders, even though they are rare due to the strict travelling conditions of non-Vandemarians.
    • Unknown to the Zakuulan Exarch and the first surface colonists, a far older colony had already been established a millennium ago. Some pioneers had discovered the second surface which dated millions of years back and decided to keep it a secret. The raging wars of the Galaxy made a few species vary of being abused and by accident some of them met on Vandemar, rather, below it. Hundreds of years of isolation followed, even retreating fully into the earth and developing an underground society which, due to the nature of the composition of the inhabitants, was extremely martial-orientated, but did not seek a central government. With knowledge of the surface going lost, the Tribes Below were occasionally fighting each other while trying to survive. Their numbers are unknown.
  • Primary Languages: Vandemarian, High Galactic, Galactic Basic
  • Culture:
    • Daily Life & Society: Vandemarians are very focused and dedicated individuals, minimalistic but enjoying the pleasures of security, stability and order as well as culture. The very meritocratic society allows for a skill and work based education and careers in the fields the realm focuses on. People follow their work, children go to the schools, teenagers to specialised academies. Everyone is bound to enter a twenty-eight month period of mandatory military service with life-long reserve duties in Primary, Secondary or Tertiary Reserve assignment depending on the gravity of their daily jobs and overall education. Art and culture are widely promoted, just as vacation and free travelling. Cities feature beautiful gardens, amphitheaters or hotels to accommodate those tired of work.
    • Arts: Especially architecture, statures and gold works are considered to be a speciality of Vandemarians, though they truly excel at technology for military matters. Their marble and busts are famous to be sold all over the Galaxy, just as their gold and gem works.
    • Religion: With technocratism being the predominant ideology, atheism is omnipresent, with a strong touch to oppose the religions of the Force and the Force and its wielders especially.
    • Sports: The most viewed sports events are the great tournaments in the arenas and circuses, chariot races, gladiatorial fights and additionally a very dedicated fan-culture for rugby and pazaak.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Principality
  • Affiliation: Vandemar
  • Wealth: Wealthy. A world constructed and populated by plan, selected after carefully reviewing its potential, the regions and locations were picked to offer a maximum of growth. Despite featuring ever more heavy travelling restrictions for off-worlders, trade was always booming in the system and its many trade hubs and outposts. The exports of highly valuable and quality goods gave it a solid foundation to grow successful and therefore wealthy.
  • Stability: High. A population selected and bred under a controlled environment, though not denying personal freedom and space combined with a high military presence in culture, daily life and physically plus the free pursuit of culture and arts, allowing a lot of muse and promoting hobby and free-time put the popularity of the government and ideology to a peak. People are protected by a constitution, workers by laws and nobility is defined through service and achievement, not heritage.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Every single person is born free on Vandemar, there is no slavery tolerated nor allowed by law. There is no outlawing of any species even though none other than those selected will get a permission to stay or citizenship. Theoretically the population is split into two categories, maior and minor. The former having passed mandatory military service, the latter not attending it. But it is near impossible to live on the world as minor, both due to the culture which developed, dutiful, but also because minors are known to be simply moved, deported, and forjudged at free reign of the Exarchs. Religion is a strongly restricted topic and while being topic in school, it is condemned and enlightenment, technocratism and atheism are primary pillars on which the ideology rests. By addition it is passively taught that Force sensitives are a little minority who impose their wills on the majority of the Galaxy which is not Force sensitive. Force sensitivity is frowned upon and will be reported to the officials as soon as apparent. It results in many Force users suppressing their connection or the people 'disappearing', being send to off-world facilities of the High Imperator where they are taught and trained as officers of the Legions.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: Vandemar can be described as a fortress and forge world, dedicated to a military purpose yet beautiful to look at.
    • Military Units
      • Vandemarian Auxillary Cohorts: The Auxillary is the standing army of the planet, any Vandemarian is conscripted into it and can choose to pursue a military career. They are dedicated heavy infantry, believing in the doctrines of mobile warfare and armored spearheads. Carrying battle-armors, riding on tanks and air transportation, they are bringing the fight directly to the enemy, appearing at its throat and cutting it. They are organised in the different districts, the Exarchies, and are equally deployed for police and security duties as well as support of infrastructure. The main unit is the Corps, an operational formation consisting of various divisions and in itself operationally independent. They are under the administrative command of their respective Exarchy.
      • Vandemarian Hypaspists: The Hypaspists are the global law-enforcement organisation, answering to the Castellan of Highcastle instead of the individual Exarchies, showing the real power of the Legions and the rule of Vandemar. Hypaspists are law-enforcers with a mandate which, if fully used, equals that of an inquisition, but is rarely used. They are more equipped like an army than a police force and are meant to be capable to deal with the local Exarchies military forces. That is the measurement the local strength is based on, being able to deal with rebellions and uprisings. They are known to be particularly dutiful and obedient to the Legions demands and wishes.
      • Vandemarian Legions: The pinnacle of warfare and purest expression of dedicated warfare. Vandemarian Legions have their origins in the ancient Eternal Empire where experiments on the most loyal Knights of Zakuul peaked in unrivaled enforcers, the Exarchs. Lesser results were Cyborg Knights. Over the millennia, the formula has been refined and fitted for mass-production. After going through an extremely tough, insanely demanding and challenging and in 82% lethal process, the aspirant is being given to the Forgelords of Highcastle, to be transformed into a super-human being, improved senses, strength, speed, fitted with the best and deadliest equipment, the idea being the Legions is to counter Force sensitives. They receive, secretly, the infamous inhabitor chips of the Clone Wars, guaranteeing their loyalty and increasing their comradeship. They are sworn to fight for the High Imperator, adore him like a godly father. Their might is unparalleled. Even though the Galaxy only felt a brief touch yet, in form of the Rim-Guard Order, Vandemar is ready to unleash its entire potential. They are fitted with tanks, air force and navy to fulfill their goals.
      • Battlefleet Vandemar: The Vandemarian Battlefleet has its primary purpose shifting from the defense of the Olympia System to the expansion of New Imperial influence. Compromised of a core of strong capital ships, they do not rely on the fleet in being as core doctrine, but rather engage in fabian tactics as well as base strike operations, hitting the enemy continuesly and wearing them down. Versatile cruiser squadrons are the core of this fleet, fast Star Destroyers and well equipped escorts support the very mobile core fleet. Mobile fleet stations are equipped for war as well, providing mobile re-supply points and docks as well as staging zones for campaigns.
    • Defenses:
      • Surface: The population centers are all protected by multi-layered defenses, not standardised and differently planned to adapt to the situation and strategic location. Strong walls are usually supported by bunkered artillery and AA emplacements as well as a strong garrison of the Auxillaries Cohorts. The inner parts of the cities, housing industry, military and administration, usually feature shield generators.
      • High Vandemar: The entirety of Vandemar is protected by massive shield generators which do not even allow birds to freely enter and leave. Massed AA batteries and even heavy weapons and artillery emplacements are in solid duracrete bunkers, not hesitating to shell and bomb the own ground. Dead spots are nearly non-existent, AA batteries are above and below the platforms, even outside the shield to prevent any attacks first hand. The garrison of High Vandemar adds to the nightmare of attackers, there a very few non-Legionnaires living there. Most inhabitants are in fact highly trained soldiers and warriors.
      • Second Realm: The information on the Tribes Below is scarce, they live in wild, random cities or even follow nomadic cultures, rarely fortifying their places but always ready for defense. There are natural entrances around the globe, called Deep Gates, which are usually in dead vulcanoes or deep rifts in the ground, valleys. All known Deep Gates are protected by a Legion Stronghold.
  • Technology: Only two directions of technology are noteworthily more advanced than the average galaxy, the military technology, especially in regards to the gene-modified soldiers and the technologies researched and applied in regards to countering environmental-pollution. Vandemar is being kept very clean and kinda harmonic despite its extreme industrial output.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

1. The Beginning

With the collapse of the Eternal Empire and the outbreak of open war between Republic and Sith Empire, the last hope of order and stability seemed gone. Remnants rallied to the Eternal Alliance or the reformed government on Zakuul, but neither was able to prevail or achieve any long-lasting effects.

The Zakuulan Exarch Aurelian Sigismund had his own ideas. In the light and example of the Benevolent Eternal Emperor Valkorion, Sigismund started the the search to build his own realm. He found the remote planet of Vandemar, a rural planet which could even be considered as wild and feral for its vast dark forests and unnaturally wild beasts roaming it. It was populated by a mixture of species, most notably humans, but also Zabrak and some Arkanians and their off-shoots. Reigning in small realms from castle-cities, fortified and protected by noble warriors, they maintained a very high standard of civilisation and technology.

Once he stumbled onto the world, there was a time of uncertainty, the inhabitants weary of martial figures and the initial followers he had, units of Overwatch, Zakuulan Knights and other soldiers who had flocked to his side, were primarily veterans who wanted to settle on the world. Through negotiations and subtle manipulation, Sigismund and his comrades were allowed to settle in a remote region of the world.

The colony was small, situated in a narrow valley and their first settlement was called Kratos. The Zakuulans quickly learned that the world they settled on was everything but peaceful. The forests roamed with creatures and beasts, with bands or raiders and savage warriors. For Aurelian this meant that they would have to go to war once more, to defend their new home and secure order for the children to come. But the enemy proved to be very different than what they expected.

2. The First War Beyond
Already on campaign with a strong host of followers, the former Exarch had achieved several minor victories over raiding parties and slain some beasts. But the deeper they ventured into the forest, the more it became apparent that all of these attacks came from the same location and eventually multiple parties of the Zakuulans met up at the same location, having followed the tracks. With some curiosity and shock they stood in front of a hole in the ground, an entrance which seemed to be absolutely unremarkable except for its depth.

Unknown to the settlers, Sigismund had already established a fortress in the rocks behind the settlement. The birthplace of the legions and citadel of Vandemar, Highcastle, would only be revealed centuries later to the population. Aurelian Sigismund ruled over the colony as absolute leader, the immortality in regards to age, granted him a long vision few could understand.

Expansion was planned long ahead, so was the bringing of new colonists and settlers from more worlds, and of different species. Under the control of Aurelian Sigismund the population grew how and where he wanted, forming both a healthy relationship with the planet as well as a functional society devoted to technocratism, militarism and a greater good.

The founding of the worlds military dates very early, but is, now known, foreshadowed by the development of the legions. The former Exarch of Zakuul wants warriors who are capable of conquering worlds and most importantly, compete with Force sensitives. Not head on head, but in a manner that mass and discipline overcome individual martial prowess.

The world was populated in strategically important areas, where resources are and which could be easily defended. All urban areas were strictly planned and feature major defenses, little room was given for natural spread as migration policies were actively pursued to watch and control the increase of productivity and stability.

2. The Discovery
It was during the greater expansion phases that an accident occurred which re-connected the surface with the Second Realm. Many miners died without the Vandemarian government having an idea why or how. Military investigations followed and discovered the Second Realm. The first contacts were both surprising and careful. The Tribes Below actually agreed to enter negotiations and talks about integration into the society, but the harsh restrictions and laws which would be enacted, were not to their liking. War was declared and the Legions marched into the dark . . .

The war lasts now since more than a millennium and there were five major wars where the Tribes Below tried to come to the surface. The Vandemarian Legions stood firmly, every time. They occupied more and more of the hidden gates towards the realms and blocked them with mighty strongholds. The last attack is now about a hundred years ago.

Carefully placed propaganda, both for the surface realm as well as the nomadic tribes of the Second Realm takes care that a specific area is being sealed and under absolute control of the Agema Aegis. The discovery of Isotope-5 being responsible for the floating of High Vandemar is too dangerous to be leaked and only very few people know about it, actually only the the Supreme Command which consists of the High Imperator, the Imperator Primus, the Castellan, the Lord Praetor and the Artifex Forgelord.

3. The Development
Wealth was deemed a value of the greater good, not of the individual, education made available to everyone, military service mandatory to gain the Vandemarian citizenship. Slowly but steadily through subtle adjustments and teaching curriculums, daily propaganda, stories of heroism and villainy spread the seeds of alienation towards the Force. Science and simple pleasures are promoted. Despite the heavy fortifications, rarely you will find as balanced cities in the Galaxy, featuring beautiful architecture and refreshing gardens.

With the martial aspect taking a big portion of the daily life, fighting is considered an art. Especially the Echani and Thyrsian communities promoted this, therefore arenas which show great gladiatorial fights are one of the main cultural attractions to the population, they are not savagely brutal or fights for freedom, it is a demonstration of martial and entertaining skills.

Vandemarians have learned to love their world, many thanks go to rich core-worlds which developed technology preventing environmental pollution, but under the guidance of House Sigismund, it reached higher echelons. Despite serious industrial output, the air is kept clean, the waters kept pure and the landscape largely unharmed. Most industrial complexes are in the ground, both for aesthetical reasons as well as military reasons, thick duracrete protecting from bombardment. The planned expansion aimed exactly for this balance and maintains it, keeping it a well armed paradise.
Therefore the people of the world are very likely to travel in their vacations, visiting the sea or going into the mountains, enjoying beautiful resorts of peace and muse, away from tanks, factories and production demands.

Freedom is a word which is always and ever connected to the words of stability, order, security and protection. There is rarely any uproar against the regime, its apparatus of PR and long-term planning preventing any issues long before they appear. People are content, they are happy, they are protected by laws and a constitution, welfare is given to those who deserve it, wealth is not gathered by few individuals, but by the greater community, the crime rate is very low.

4. The Progression
At some point Aurelian Sigismund knew that a single ruler would be eyed warily due to the spreading and dominance of the Republic values in the Galaxy, therefore he installed House Sigismund, a dynasty, not born but chosen to rule over the world. The noble-sounding title is just a synonym for the worlds administration, the Council of Exarchs, Senate and High Command of the Legion. Despite everyone ultimately serving the High Imperator, every major decision being his or coming from him, he is rarely portrayed as the sole ruler or origin, giving immense credit to the representatives and only coming into action when he is required.

Since the emergence of the Legions, a revealing which was received as positive as it could, seeing the pinnacles of military science being put to use of an entire planet and its vision. A vision which was ultimately dictated by a single man over millennia, the Castellan of Highcastle became the de facto ruler of Vandemar. A trusted companion of the High Imperator, he holds court over the Council of Exarchs, the Senate and needs of the population.

The Vandemarian Senate was founded in addition to the Council of Exarchs, a chamber with dedicated ministers to take care of various matters of daily governing and administrating. Composed of educated specialists in their various fields of expertise, the Senate advises the Exarchs in their government and is able to enforce an edict if it is approved by the Castellan. It is a simple and effective system, decreasing bureaucracy and increasing the feeling of serving a greater good.

5. Vandemar and the Galaxy
Vandemar never took a side in any of the conflicts of the greater galaxy, nor was an occupation be attempted. The Old Republic opposed forceful takeover, the Confederacy saw a campaign as too costly, the Galactic Empire shared the view, though maintained a much more close contact and relationship with the single system. The lack of expansion and involvement kept Vandemar always far from the stage and only being a patient observer. Yet military prowess does not come from parading. During the Vong invasion the planet suffered vast destruction, but despite air and space superiority, the Vong did not manage to capture the planet due to the fierce resistance of the population. Roughly 43% of the population were lost in the war.

A self-blockade was enacted when the terrorist Zero unleashed the Gulag Plague onto the Galaxy, keeping everything out of the system and everyone dared to enter was shut down without warning or second thought. A harsh time of isolation and hand-in-mouth followed, especially MISSING

The strong and fierce military reputation of Vandemar was founded by careful placed propaganda as well as a great many expeditions into the Unknown Regions and the former Eternal Empire holdings. Regions which fell into disarray and decay after their ruler ceased to exist. The Wars Below were another major contributing factors to the strength and prowess of Vandemars military. Vandemarians have a long tradition of venturing out to test their military, to defeat enemies and return with spoils of war and hero-tales. Under Review Aurelian Sigismund Aurelian Sigismund

It's clear that you put a lot of work into this planet, which is great! Some of the locations mentioned here look like they would be ideal to further flesh out in the future with Location subs. There are a few things I'd like to address before I stamp this, however.

  • In Unexploited Resources, you list Isotope-5, though you never mention it again. Isotope-5 is stated on its Wookieepedia page to be completely unique to the planet Makeb, on the far side of the galaxy from Vandemar, to the point that a major part of the Galactic Republic - Sith Empire war was fought over controlling the planet and this incredibly rare resource. No other Chaos planet has been said to have deposits of Isotope-5, I checked. Please either strongly justify this in the submission or remove it.

  • In Unexploited Resources, you list Tibanna. This is a substance that is (so far as I can tell) only found on gas giants. Since Vandemar is a terrestrial planet, not a gas giant, and seems to have an ordinary, breathable atmosphere, I don't see how this can work, and you never mention it outside this section. Again, please either strongly justify its inclusion or remove it.

  • In Unexploited Resources, you list Songsteel, which is another incredibly rare substance. You then never mention it again, except as part of the composition of the Imperial Portal. For something this rare and powerful (noted in canon only as coming from a rare asteroid), it would be nice to see some mention of it elsewhere in the sub. Where is it found, and how much? Did an asteroid impact distribute it, perhaps? Or did it form naturally, perhaps in the strange conditions of the Second Realm?

  • You list Auromidium in both Major Exports and Unexploited Resources. If it's being massively exported, it's not "unexploited", which means "not yet being used". Please delete it from one of those two sections.

  • In Native Species, every species you list is native to a different planet (Grazers come from Alderaan, Horranths from Tython, Kath Hounds from Dantooine, etc.) so they cannot be native to Vandemar. They can be listed as immigrated wildlife species, perhaps brought over (intentionally or not) during the colonization efforts, but Native Species should list only species that evolved on Vandemar.

  • Under Affiliation, you might want to add the New Imperial Order, since the planet is in their space. Optional, but it makes sense to me, unless there are big, big changes coming soon.

  • Under Historical Information (which you broadly did a great job with, by the way!), you again don't mention the New Imperial Order, even though you're placing Vandemar inside their claimed region of space. I'd add at least a couple of sentences describing the NIO's arrival and Vandemar's relations with them.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns!

Check the Planetary Features of High Vandemar and the Second Realm plus the History tab of "Discovery" to read if it is sufficient for it. I will gladly elaborate on it during the week if you would like to read more.

See System details, the Gas Giant has Tibanna. Is that enough or demands another planet sub?

I have added a description in the Kratos part.

No own species, all brought in. Edited completely. No own ones. :)

I would prefer not to if it is optional.

The last tab in history got the NIO added.

Please give me a headsup of how it looks now.

Isotope-5: I see the mentions of this now (not sure how I missed it before, sorry), but I don't see an explanation for why this resource exists here. If approved, this planet would be the first and only planet in Chaos or Canon where Isotope-5 exists apart from Makeb. That's a pretty big deal for the galaxy's most powerful energy source, the kind of things wars are fought over. I would have to consult with the full Codex team to see if this can possibly be allowed, given the massive nature of this change to a Canon substance. Less powerful artificial versions of Isotope-5 have been subbed in the past, but the real thing has never been placed on a custom planet before.

Is the Isotope-5 natural, which would require tremendous explanation given that it has previously occurred naturally only once among thousands upon thousands of explored planets? Or was it brought over artificially, which would be an easier sell but require expanded history? Maybe part of the mysterious Second World colony that predates Aurelian's settlement of the planet?

Tibanna: Got it, the clarification looks fine.

Songsteel: I like the explanation you added, nice job.

Everything Else: Also looks great, nice job.

Hey there, we're coming up on the Factory and Codex holiday closure on December 1st. What is the status of this submission? Everything will be cleared out of this section at the start of the holiday, so this will be either archived or sent back to the Pre-Codex if not approved by then.

The Mongrel The Mongrel

There we go. I hope no physicist reads this. :)

I have added information to:
  • System Features, adding Horus and some details about gravity and rotation to other objects
  • Planetary Features, a section about the origin of the Isotope-5

Two days? We can manage! :D

If the explanation should prove insufficient or the team decides that it is too much for a custom submission, please do not deny right away and put it back to pre-codex. I will alter it and find a better explanation for the surfaces.

Okay, here's what I'm going to do. You've been working hard on this, and I respect what you've put in, particularly the effort to justify the presence of Isotope-5. At this point I'm going to go ahead and mark this as Pending Approval, and let an RPJ / Admin take a look. I'll leave the final call about whether or not Isotope-5's presence is acceptable in their hands.

Hello Aurelian Sigismund Aurelian Sigismund ,

Upon full review of the submission, there are several things that require changing as per the cross over rule in Codex. Several of the names are borrowed from 40k, mythology and SWTOR.
  1. Horus (40k & Mythology)
  2. Mergus (40k)
  3. Vandemar (Van De Mar mountains)
  4. The Heavenly Throne's concept = the Golden Throne for the God Emperor on Terra
There's several more and honestly reading the entire sub it reads like a wiki page for the God Emperor and Terra in the Warhammer 40k universe.

You've been warned before for borrowing too heavily from the Warhammer universe. Its okay to be inspired, but you have to utilize the inspiration and change it to the point where it respectfully nods to the inspiration, not completely tries to be that inspiration. This submission has similar issues that were raised by these previous submissions,

Another point I had questions with was the history of the planet. You start the historical information from the original Eternal Empire from the SWTOR games also name several other factions that are there. I suggest linking the wookiepedia articles for these factions since there are several current major factions that are using these names or names that are similar. It could cause confusion for anyone reading the submission.

With how far back you reach with the historical information, it barely covers anything from our timeline - I suggest adding more timeline events into the historical information to fully tie it to our timeline. As of right now the history is too far in the past for it to provide any information for someone trying to roleplay on the planet. If you need help with filling out the Chaos timeline, you can check the timeline articles or even ask questions in codex discussion on the board or on the discord.

The entire submission is well written and has some cool ideas, you just need to really pull away from the inspiration of Warhammer 40k and make it your own. You're fully capable of this and there are several resources on the board along with other more star wars places to draw inspiration from.

This submission will be moved to the pre-codex so that you can continue working on it during the holiday break. If you're able to make changes before the deadline, we will do our best to pass it before then. However, approval may need to wait after the moratorium.

If you have questions or concerns you can reach out to the Codex Admin Srina Talon Srina Talon via board PM.

Thank you!
