GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Event Name: Battle of Little Ironweed
  • Participants:
    Orphaned Mandalorians
  • Yuuzhan Vong
  • Mandalorians

[*]Results: The Mandalorians pushed back the Vong and began a campaign to push them back into the Vong Wastes of Mandalore, marking the start of the Vong-Mandalorian War. This eventually led to the walling off many of the larger Vong Wastes on Mandalore.

CHRONICLE INFORMATION
The battle of Little Ironweed began long before its legendary conclusion at the orphanage. One day prior to the end of the battle a mass of Vong Forces assaulted a Mandalorian military base near the small town of Shuror. En route to aid the soldiers in preparing for battle against Sansa Corda's Mandalorian forces, a group of Mandalorian orphans was shot down over the base. With their headmaster killed in the crash and recognizing that the next target of this Vong incursion would be Shuror, the nearest town, the orphans took it upon themselves to prepare for the Vong. On their way they managed to put out a distress call to any and all Mandalorians near by. They arrived much faster than the Vong who were traveling on foot and were able to spend a day preparing food, weapons, and the old bes'uliik in the shed. The children and teens also modified heavy farming equipment that would work as a mobile weapons platform which fired large metal nails.

In an act of Mandalorian bravery unprecedented since the days of the Clone Wars, the orphans utilized the huge fields of Mandalorian Ironweed to set up explosive traps, ambushes, and raids on the Vong. The orphanage itself would later fall under siege as the Vong's superior strength pushed back the orphans. However, when all seemed lost, two groups of Mandalorians, one serving Sansa Corda and the other in open rebellion, converged on the Vong and together the forces were able to push the Vong back. Impressed with the valor and ingenuity of the little "Iron-blooded" Orphans Sansa Corda declared them to have passed their Verd'gotten and the Mandalorians who were of age (14+) were treated as adults. The leader of the orphans declared himself alor of Clan Sarad and adopted the rest of the orphanage before following the combined force into what would become known as the Vong-Mandalorian War. Upon his return Clan Sarad became one of the most well known clans on Mandalore, despite its size. The story of the "Iron-Blooded Orphans" that held back the tide of a Vong invasion would become the rallying cry for Mandalorian on both sides of the Civil War to come together and reunite under a single banner.

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Clan Sarad
  • Classification: Clan
  • Loyalties: House Skirata, Occasionally the Mand'alor
  • Organization Symbol:
  • Description: Clan Sarad was a Mandalorian clan hailing from Shuror. Clan Sarad were some of the fieriest warriors of House Skirata. At least two House Skirata leaders were born from this clan which made the relatively small clan a powerful voice within House Skirata's Elder Council.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: [Where is this organization based out of? Please link either the planet or applicable location.]
  • Realm: Mandalore
  • Domain: Clan Sarad does not claim dominion over any one place and are spread throughout Mandalore. However a large concentration of the clan's elders and many bloodlines leading back to the original founders can be found in Shuror on Mandalore.
  • Notable Assets:
    The Orga Sarad

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The hierarchy of Clan Sarad was similar to many Mandalorian clans. Final say and authority on clan matters fell to the Alor. However, there were many cases and events that were overseen by the clan Elders such as the Verd'gotten of orphans and Cin Vhetinse, what they called non-Mandalorians who wished to become Mandalorian. Outside of those two things, much of the clan's hierarchy only came into effect during war time in which case the clan followed a meritocracy. The entire clan fell under the protection and affiliation of House Skirata however and if the Alor of House Skirata were to get involved, their ruling trumped the Alor of Clan Sarad.
  • Membership: Birth, marriage, or adoption.
  • Influence: Clan Sarad itself held sway within House Skirata and many of Mandalore's bes'uliik riders came to them for teaching but the small clan didn't have much if any pull in the grand scheme of Mandalorian politics. They did not operate or maintain a fleet like some of the larger clans and Houses and they did not actively participate in most wars. However, the legend of their founding left the clan with a certain reputation when it came to battle prowess.
  • Climate: Private and secluded, members of Clan Sarad tended to keep to themselves and avoid the larger politics of Houses and extraplanetary strife.
  • Reputation: Due to the history of Clan Sarad, many Mandalorians looked at them with a sense of pride. Honorable and good hearted Clan Sarad were seen as one of the few true warrior tribes of Mandalore.
  • Rules: Resol'nare and the rules of House Skirata
  • Doctrines: Outside of the Resol'nare Clan Sarad did not follow any one doctrine, but hels firm that to be a Jedi was to not be Mandalorian. To them it was one or the other.
  • Goals: To provide military support to House Skirata and provide a strong environment for Mandalorian orphans.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
On a cold winter's day on the outskirts of Shuror a small orphanage was beginning to warm itself. The headmaster woke the orphans and fed them an warm, oat-based dish common in the area with a side of seared To Vhin. It was a hearty meal meant to keep the orphans full long into the day of work that was before them. It hadn't even been a full year since the Beskar Rebellion and the Second Mandalorian Civil War continued to keep the Mandalorian skies ablaze. The orphans of this place were headed to a nearby military camp. They polished weapons and armor, worked with droids and soldiers to fix up bes'uliik, and other small tasks around the base. The base was far enough from any of the main fighting that it was deemed safe enough for the orphans to work, many of them still children with only a handful of them nearing Verd'gotten age.

When the orphans arrived with the headmaster however the base was being overrun, but not by Mandalorians. Vong from the Vong Wastes had pushed up on the base and nearly taken it over. The orphans' shuttle was spotted and downed near the middle of the base and the headmaster was killed in the crash. The orphans, led by the oldest, Var, managed to escape the base and returned to the orphanage with a small stockpile of weapons. The Vong continued their march, passing by the orphanage and assaulted the building. Led by young Var the orphans managed to hold the Vong in the orphanage complex for a full day after activating an old bes'uliik and modifying construction walkers to use in their defense. Their defense allowed for a combined attack from the two warring Mandalorian factions to converge on their location and forced a Vong retreat. The battle would be known as Little Ironweed and would be the first battle of the Vong-Mandalorian War. The soldiers, impressed by the orphans' resolve, battle skills, and incredible war strategy, the Mandalorian general that mounted the rescue passed the orphans through their Verd'gotten despite their age. Var, who had turned 14 on the last day of the defense took on the name Sarad, after the field of Ironweed flowers that had helped the children in their defense of their orphanage and by extension the rest of Shuror. The stylized image of the Ironweed became the clan's symbol.

Var took with him the oldest of the orphanage and joined the war against the Mandalorian Vong. When he and the others returned to the orphanage he adopted the entire complex into the clan. Clan Sarad would go on to join House Skirata and produce some of the most talented Bes'uliik riders in the House as well as produce a unique scout vehicle based off of old farm equipment. For the next few hundred years Clan Sarad was the tip of House Skirata's spear and at least two of the Alors from Clan Sarad would go on to lead House Skirata with Var being one of them.

[*]Culture: Convoluted, complex, and often seen as counter productive, the culture of Mandalore is one that revolves mostly around combat, family, and tradition. Which traditions though was often a topic of hot debate which resulted in brawls, arguments, and several civil wars throughout the history of the Mandalorian people. To the South, where many of the White Sand deserts of Mandalore were, the rise and fall of the Empire of ancient days saw the Mandalorians cast away the pacifism of the "New Mandalorians" however many of their other ideals have stayed, including their way of life. Content to mimic cities of the Galactic Core the Mandalorians within the domed cities typically didn't wear their armor unless ready for combat. It was a place of wealth, education, industry, and art. Still competent warriors in their own right, many of these Mandalorians typically lead lives in industries outside of mercenary work and the criminal underworld.
To the North, the Mandalorians lead very different lives. Free to live without the oppressive heat of the White Sand deserts for the most part, these Mandalorians lead rougher lives. With small settlements, towns, and villages carved out of the veshok tree forests and ice covered plains, many of the Mandalorians here worked as farmers, miners, mercenaries and smiths as well as other jobs that required hard labor. Mighty warriors, old story tellers, and ancient traditions took root in these places.

Despite these differences however, most if not all Mandalorians followed the Resol'nare. While how they interpreted it varied from province to province and even within the same cities or towns, most Mandalorians saw each other as family.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Decentralized Clans under the authority of the Mand'alor (Sole Ruler)
  • Affiliation: Mandalorian Empire and future Mandalorian Major Factions
  • Wealth: Medium-High
While outside of the domed cities such as Sundari and Padelfia life may have seemed primitive and harsh with their wooden homes, fire warmed hearths, and their old tech, Mandalorians themselves were surprisingly frugal and thus large amounts of wealth was common within individual Mandalorian families due to the extremely lucrative business that many took part in such as beskar mining, high-end mercenary work, financial speculation, and shipbuilding. While not everyone was "rich" there was very little true unemployment outside of the domed cities.

[*]Stability: High
  • Coming out of a massive civil war and a terrible ecological disaster many of the clans alongside the new Mand'alor took steps to increase security in the system and rebuild assets lost in the war and disaster. Inspiring fierce loyalty across Mandalore, the Mand'alor has brought stability in the system not seen for at least a decade.

[*]Freedom & Oppression: Technically a dictator, the Mand'alor often has little say what does or doesn't happen within the various familial units and clans of Mandalore. Most companies were not nationalized outside of times of war and the oppressive TSAC buildings were largely shut down. While Death Watch still lurks in the shadow of the Mandalorian Empire, the Mandalorian Protectors patrol and act as a system-wide police force.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: After the ecological disaster that would see most of Mandalore shifted and broken and the Civil War that saw the rise of the Mandalorian Empire, Mandalore underwent a massive increase in their projected military power. A draft coupled with a short stint of MandalMotors being nationalized under Ra Viszla saw a Mandalorian armada rise that surpassed the military might of the Mandalorians during their war with the Sith Empire a decade before the civil war. Even after that the naval strength of Mandalore rose after the Mandalorian Empire constructed the solar shipyard and secured their system with several space stations and strategically placed space mines.
  • Technology: The planet itself could probably be considered galactic standard, but many of the smaller towns and cities of Mandalore utilized older tech. For example, the people of Kyrimorut often used tech from as far back as the Clone Wars.

[*]Accessibility: [Describe logistical information on how easy it is to find/gain entry to this ship. Is it hidden? Is it isolated from society deep in space or is it in the middle of civilization near busy hyperlanes and star systems? Is it guarded? Open to the public or private access only?]
[*]Description: The Orga Sarad is one of few Mandalorian battlecruisers in service to House Skirata of Mandalore. While still technically combat ready, the battlecruiser is used mostly as Clan Sarad's home, housing the main clan leadership as well as training facilities for Mandalorian youth. Not technically a Mandalorian Imperial academy or other military school, many Mandalorians came to the ship to learn from Clan Sarad in zero-gravity combat as well as high-g combat on bes'uliik war droids. The battlecruiser like many of the Legacy line had powerful broadsides and advanced slave circuitry to keep the ship afloat with a skeleton crew. On rare occasions it has been called into combat by House Skirata and even the Mand'alor and is one of the oldest ships in service to the Mandalorian Empire, its sheer presence alone able to ward off pirates from entire star systems.
INTERNAL DEFENSES
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Main Hangar: The main dorsal hangar. Designed similarly to the Venators of old a section of the hull opens up which allowed for massive amounts of fighters to be released at once. It was also used as the main hangar for visitors and as such some members of Clan Sarad had set up small shopping kiosks along the edges of the hangar.
  • Training Facility: Sectioned off from the rest of the ship, the Training Facility was an entire deck dedicated to training the next generation of Sarad Mandalorians. Turbolaser and other weapon simulators were present here along with flight sims and shooting ranges. Two tactical courses were also present and were used to for both zero-g and gravity combat training with the gravity chamber able to be set to higher levels or lower/higher atmosphere for intense training and simulation of high atmosphere environments.
  • Deck 4 Mess Hall: Also known simply as "the bar", Deck 4's mess hall was one of two places on the ship where one could drink alcohol. It was known for its Ironweed mead which was strangely one of the best places on Mandalore (When it was in orbit) to drink the unique tasting mead.
  • Observation Deck: Originally one of the flight control towers the deck was modified into a lounge and observation deck. It was noteable for being one of two places on board where one could purchase alcohol. The large windows would be shuttered with beskar blast shutters in combat.

SECURITY
High: The Orga Sarad was utilized and treated as a military base by Clan Sarad and House Skirata. As such a squadron of starfighters is always on patrol or escort duty around the ship. As far as internal defenses, several armories were strategically placed throughout the ship in case of boarding actions. Automated laser turrets and integrated barricades and cover supported the armed security personnel on board.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Given to Clan Sarad over one hundred years ago for their service in the Vong-Mandalorian War and their continued loyalty to House Skirata, the Orga Sarad was named after the Mandalorian orphan who gave their life to protect the first would be head of Clan Sarad. A close friend and rumored first love of Var Orga would live on in the spirit of the battlecruiser as the protector of Clan Sarad's future. The ship would be used throughout the Pirate Wars and eventually would be brought out of military service by Clan Sarad. The ship, though it had an incredibly long service life, would go on to serve Clan Sarad as a military training facility specializing in starfighter combat, zero-G operations, and bes'uliik use in the vacuum. When Mandalore became unlivable due to the actions of Mia Monroe and Ijaat Mereel, the ship became a life ship for thousands of Mandalorians. The ship would be pulled back into service by then House Alor Dorn Skirata and would play a key role in the sacking of MandalMotors' original orbital array. However after Gilamar retook control of the House the ship returned to its original duties as a place of learning and potential safety for Mandalorians of House Skirata.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Firebase Lirsa
  • Classification: Military Logistics and Supermax Prison
  • Location: Lake Kelita, equidistant from Kelita City and New Keldabe
  • Affiliation: Mand'alor
  • Population:
    Mandalorian Protectors: High
  • Mandalorian Military: Low
  • Death Watch: Very Low

[*]Accessibility: The main facility itself is a brief historical view into Mandalorian military history and is as such open to the public. It is also the Northern HQ for the Mandalorian Protectors and as such the military wings are heavily guarded and patrolled with certain areas only being accessible with high levels of clearance.
[*]Description: Firebase Lirsa was a military base constructed in Lake Kelita to provide logistics support to all of the Mandalorian military. While it was technically owned, operated, and defended by the Mandalorian Protectors, it was utilized by all branches of the Mandalorian war machine. The campus was constructed on an artificial island with several levels both above and below the surface of the water.
Deep below the water was where Death Watch operated one of its last remaining Force prisons. While the procedure utilized by Ra was removed from the public eye, dangerous Force Users were locked below the waves of Kelita to Firebase Lirsa and stripped of the Force there. Death Watch patrols, logistics, and communications for the entire northern continent ran through Firebase Lirsa.

The base also housed three underwater hangars that held 3 Ambition-Class Corvettes. Two of the Ambition-Class corvettes were for Protector use should Mandalore come under invasion while the third was for Death Watch. A defensive hangar was located above the water and was part of a runway that would rise from the massive lake during invasions or serious attacks. These fighters coupled with the bases anti-air quad lasers made it a formidable foe.

As a logistics facility it also had advanced communications and sensor equipment, indoor barracks, conference rooms with advanced holo-displays, and an advanced CIC which was always staffed and ready to become a command center. The base frequently communicated with its southern counterpart as well as the defense fleet in Mandalore's orbit. The base also sported a "civilian" friendly area which acted as a small path through Mandalorian history with displays of ancient texts, battle armors, weapons, and other military replicas.

POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Military Logistics
    david-moreau-2013-wintersoldier-cp2-conceptarttalk-110.jpg
    :
One of the many locations locked behind high clearance locks and sensors, this area has several holo-displays that indicate various statistics such as the status of the orbital mines, orbital fleet, southern HQ's status and other important information. It also had several holo-projectors for military members to beam into meetings or present plans.
  • Rest Area
    eddie-del-rio-asset.jpg
    :
The rest area was a small, two floor military history exhibit that featured Mandalorian weapons, armors, texts and other bits from ancient times. It praised Mandalorians of old for their influence on military technology throughout the Galaxy. The second floor also had a balcony that overlooked Lake Kelita. Symbolic in nature, it wasn't meant to attract civilians, however the exhibit was popular with off-worlders and provided a steady supplemental revenue stream for the base.
  • The Sink
    phil-saunders-thehole-web.jpg
    :
A suprisingly large prison located underneath the waters of Lake Kelita. With a single way out of the prison, which lead into Firebase Lirsa's military elevators, the prison was considered a supermax prison. Ysalimir nutrient pods were scattered throughout the Sink which made it impossible to use the Force outside of very small pockets. It was staffed 24/7 by Death Watch operatives and some cleared military and Protector personnel as well. The Sink doubled as a high security base for Death Watch. The Sink was far enough below the water and ground that the Ysalamir did not affect anyone above the water and was one of the few places left on Mandalore where the Mandalorians could strip the Force away from dangerous Force Users.
  • Protectors Precinct: Part military barrack, part Protector Precinct, the bulk of the building was designed to house military troops and act as an HQ for the Mandalorian Protectors in the northern half of the planet. While it isn't the only precinct in the north, it was the largest and most well equipped and staffed one outside of its counterpart in Sundari.

SECURITY
Maximum

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The original plans for the building were made by a team of Mandalorian engineers, including then Mand'alor Gilamar Skirata. Designed over half a decade ago, the plans were modified to take advantage of Kelita's great lake. Construction began around the same time as reconstructrion of Keldabe, however it wouldn't be finished until both Keldabe was rebuilt and the new city of Kelita was erected. With funding from MandalMotors and the Mandalorian Empire, the building would go on to serve the Mandalorian Protectors as well as the Mandalorian Armada as a defensive point in invasions and as a security hub for the northern continent.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Heuristic Processor
  • Animal-Like Loyalty to Riders
  • Complex Droid Brain
  • Beskar'gam Uplink
  • Magnetic Feet/Claws
  • Advanced Sensor Arrrays
Strengths:
  • Tank: Armored in beskar, the plates of the bes'uliik were incredibly difficult to penetrate, which made the bes'uliik difficult to harm in frontal assaults
  • Weapons Platform: Like the smaller Mk. III and Mk. II Bes'uliik, the Orar-class was a massive weapons platform, capable of outputting massive amounts of heavy fire.
  • Straight Line Speed: When in flight, the Orar-class had the ability to fly at great speeds, but only in straight lines.
Weaknesses:
  • Exposed Underbelly: While difficult to get under without being crushed, being so low to the ground made Orar-class extremely vulnerable to mines when walking
  • Ion Weapons/Anti-Droid Weapons: The droid, like most droids and starships, was extremely vulnerable to ion weapons. While the droid's memory core was protected from ion weapons, the critical weapons systems, propulsion, and navigation were all vulnerable.
  • Turn Radius: While in flight and on the ground the Orar-class Bes'uliik had a large and slow turning radius which made it hard to dodge most attacks.
DESCRIPTION
Designed by Mandalorian Bes'uliik riders, the Orar-class was one of the largest classes of bes'uliik utilized by the Mandalorians throughout the raiding years of the Gulag Plague. The beasts were largely handcrafted by beast-smiths, a role that had largely vanished after the Mandalorian Resource Wars, and were often the bes'uliik class of choice for long assaults and sieges due to their powerful weapon load outs and imposing appearance. The beasts were often the priced possession and lifetime partner of their riders, with some being passed down from generation to generation of alors and military commanders.

From a design standpoint, it differed from the standard Bes'uliik greatly. Larger, bulkier, and longer, the Orar-class substituted its wings for two large missile launchers, which limited its ability to fly. Without wings the jets and repulsors had to be micromanaged by the pilot which made it notoriously difficult and uncomfortable to ride. The saddle-cockpit hybrid sat right behind a large sensor array hub on the beast's back and was fed images from the various sensors, photoreceptors, and cameras throughout the droid's body. It was protected by a shielded transparisteel dome which could be collapsed if the rider wished to fire their own weapons from the saddle.

Unable to make turns at all without slowing to a near halt put a lot of stress on the pilot's body. The war droid also couldn't get too high in the air, limited to about the same height as a human wearing a repulsor pack or a jet pack. Instead of having to large front claws and a pile of sensor nodes, the Orar-class instead opted for two large hind legs that supported the weight of the beast through the use of a similar micronization technique that was used in Mandalorian crushguants. This was seen as large bundles of what looked like metalic muscle underneath the beskar plates. These areas were extremely vulnerable to direct heat and extreme cold, which made them difficult to use on extreme temperature worlds such as Krownest and Tattoine. Within its large torso, the beast also had two smaller arms that it could use to steady itself on all fours for extended missile barrages. Its sensor array was also instead of clustered like on a standard bes'uliik, was spread across its body, with the main sensor hub manifesting as four large, hair like antennae on its back. The tail was also filled with sensors and cameras.

The Orar-class's role in combat was also very different from the standard bes'uliik. While a standard Bes'uliik was a multi-role war machine and starfighter, the Orar-class was limited to in atmosphere flight and often had to be dropped from inside a planet's atmosphere due to their size and mass. Essentially planet locked, the Orar-class also had fewer weapons than the standard bes'uliik, however made up for it in output as the weapons equipped were much more powerful. With its size and weapons in mind, it was also not typically used in duels or jousts like other bes'uliiks. Mounted combat was nearly impossible with these great beasts, however they did typically have several magnetic weapon holders for riders and or a single passanger to store a variety of blasters and weapons. What was more common that flashy flying or inspiring mounted battles was to see one or two of these massive beasts charge through an enemy line while a passenger and the beast itself laid out wide arcs of blaster fire and destruction.

The Orar-class' design was rumored to be based off of the massive Catra'diamtr, a large reptilian predator native to the Mandalorian moon of Tra'shebs. As such they were seen as legendary beasts in their own right. Their number was reduced severely over the years of the Mandalorian Resource Wars and many were locked away in large clan vaults. Those that remained were often seen in the possesion of powerful Mandalorian warlords, alors of old clans, or important military generals and staff.

  • Ion Weapons: Ion torpedoes and heavy ion cannons will disable the ship
Description: An integral part to the Mandalorian military machine, the Meteor-Class M-Carrier was a powerful and well rounded attack craft whose duties included troop deployment, scouting operations, and even system patrol duties. Built around sevearl small decks, the 40 meter long ship sported overlapping firing arcs from its front and rear facing ball-turreted quad lasers and dual laser turrets mounted to either side of the hull. These cannons protected the ship from other starfighters and missile assaults. A short range turreted dual turbolaser cannon was mounted to the top of the ship and was powerful enough to deal significant damage to the hulls of larger warships. Unlike its cousin, the Mandalorian Gunship Mk. II, the power draw issues that were found in that model were non-existent here due to recent advances in generator technology brought on by researchers at Mythosaur Electric, one of MandalMotors' many subsidiaries. The shuttle also sported two variable payload flex-tube missile launcers each with a payload of 6 torpedoes or 3 missiles.

As well as being utilized as a troop transport in under heavy fire, the M-carrier was also used as a system patrol craft, customs enforcement vessel, and boarding craft. Able to utilize its impressive weapons compliment and impressive troop carrying capacity, it was a staple among local system law enforcement group The Mandalorian Protectors and was praised for its impressive manueverability being such a large and unwieldy looking craft. Gimble mounted arms connected the ship to its four ion engines. Each arm could be moved independently of one another, which allowed the ship to perform impressive hover-based maneuvers, turn tight corners at high speeds, and incredibly quick and smooth stops. However, because of this, the arms were also the most vulnerable part of the ship and without shields could be blown off in one or two hits at the mount.

Deployed in groups the M-Carrier was a terrifying sight to behold as its troop bays could hold several dozen Mandalorian troopers and two I'dadr-class bes'uliik. The troop bay had 6 side doors, 3 port and starboard, which allowed the troopers to perform aerial assaults or quickly return to in rapid retreats via jetpack or repulsor pack. Some had their main deck converted into command rooms and could be used to uplink to forward command bases or a fleet's command ship which provided commanders on the M-carriers information and the ability to communicate with their troops far and wide. While supremely adaptable warship was commissioned for future endeavors of the Mandalorian Empire, the ship was also sold in limited numbers to private defense forces, mercenary groups, and private collectors.

  • Uplink: Able to send large data packets such as audio and video recordings from a pilot's headset or a scouting mission, back over long distances
Weaknesses:
  • Open Air: The rider was exposed to snipers and general weapons fire
  • Low to Ground: Mines and other ground-based traps were extremely deadly to the rider and droid walker due to how low to the ground the I'dadr rode.
  • Ion Weapons: Like most droids, ion weapons could disable the droid
  • Intense Heat: Prolonged exposure to intense heat from repeated direct shots from a laser cannon or powerful flamethrower could melt the micronized beskar synthetic muscle fibers, immobilizing the I'dadr.
DESCRIPTION
The Mandalorian equivalent to many military-grade scout walkers, the I'dadr-Class Bes'uliik was a quadrupedal propelled, flightless bes'uliik class developed by Mandalorian Beast Smiths towards the end of the Pirate Wars. The I'dadr on average stood at 2.5 meters and had a saddle-like cockpit that allowed for a rider to directly control the droid and held magnetic sleeves for a variety of weapons. The open cockpit design was a stylistic holdover from traditional bes'uliik, but did make it lighter than if designers had integrated a covered cockpit. The choice however left the rider vulnerable to snipers and even general small arms fire on the battlefield.

On either side of the pilot were light repeating blaster cannons that folded to the sides when not in use. The mouth of the I'dadr held 4 shockwave generator rods which were the minimum number required to form the deadly burst of plasma that had become the telltale sound and weapon of the bes'uliik over thousands of years. Both weapons made short work of standard infantry and its beskar claws made it a terror in close quarters as well. Like all bes'uliik types and classes, the I'dadr was capable of making decisions on its own, however usually deferred to the rider. The droids and their riders often formed close bonds and were often given as gifts to promising warriors.

I'dadr were often deployed in war time from Meteor Type-M Dropships or landed warships and often scouted in groups of 4 and were used as both advanced scouting units and cavalry fighters.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Sometime between the Great Vanishing and the Second Mandalorian Excision, the Mandalorians were left in shambles and planets like Junction were disconnected from the vast network of communication stations throughout what had once been Mandalorian Space. Without much ability to contact other Mandalorian worlds, Red Legion commanders left on the training world took control of the system, quickly establishing order and After the Great Vanishing that had left the Mandalorians t in shambles. Planets like Junction were disconnected from the vast network of communication stations throughout what had once been Mandalorian space.

Since then the previously Mandalorian aligned soldiers established a military rule over the system. Their leader, Hawke Braxis, claimed the leadership role of the system and named himself the Minister of Junction. In a swift coup Hawke ripped control of the planet from its mercantile leaders and established harsh curfews, embargos on travel, and military check points across the planet. Eventually the Red Remnant, as they became known, relaxed their restrictions on travel however continued to hold foreign trade under extreme scrutiny and imposed heavy taxes on the mercantile families of Junction.

Strengths:
  • Mandalorian Iron: Blasters, lasers, and even lightsabers deal little to negligible damage to the armor and protect the users from those sorts of weapons. Slughtrowers were also already useless against most modern armors and only transfer a limited abount of kinetic force past the plates
  • Light: Lighter than standard beskar'gam
  • Advanced HUD: One of the most advanced features of Mandalorian armor, the HUD and helmet were equipped with a pineal eye sensor that allowed for near 360 degree target tracking of up to several dozen individual targets, included macrobinocular vision as well as various other types such as night, infrared, and heat among others.
  • Broadband Antenna: An antenna connected to the side of the helmet that can send signals to Gil's bes'uliik, improve reception for coms, and interface with Gil's various personal ships.
Weaknesses:
  • Flame Heat: While beskar itself has an extremely high melting point, prolonged exposure to intense flame or fire can still cause intense burns from the bodyglove or flightsuit melting.
  • Sonic Weapons: Sonic weapons aren't resisted by much
  • Slugthrowing Sharpshooters: Slugthrower users that take advantage of the armor's segmented design or aim for the visor
  • Electricity: The alloy that makes Gil's armor lighter than standard beskar'gam also is more conductive to electricity. an unintended side effect
  • No EMP Protection: If an EMP or ion weapon disables his tech he would be blind until he swapped his visor's HUD. Other tech would be useless as well
DESCRIPTION
Designed and forged some time during the waning years of the Pirate Wars, Gilamar's armor was a relic of past armor philosophies. Segmented into several pieces and made from a flexible beskar alloy, the armor provided amazing protection against blasters and other energy-based weapons. The armor was also built to make him look intimidating, with bladed shoulder pauldrons and a gorget that connected to a long, black cape it was more showy than most, and definitely more regal than the man acted, especially in his older age. The armor also included a blast-proof kama which protected his legs from shrapnel and explosions.

As far as gadgets went, the armor itself was rather simple. The guantlets came equipped with integrated blasters and the right one had an electrified coil launcher while the left held a hidden knuckle vibroblade. Gil didn't use crushgaunts, but his gloves were shockgloves and he had a light beskar targe that he could use to block incoming fire or melee. Magnetic boots allowed the Mandalorian to fight on and ride bes'uliik without fear of being thrown from the saddle and the HUD in his T-shaped visor provided a variety of information and vision modes or enhancements. A small knife sheath was attatched to the right thigh plate that could launch a blade for quick access in a pinch. Recently the armor was modified to include small integrated repulsors on his back and calves. While useless in space, the repulsors allowed Gil to make quick bursts of movement and ascend structures in several quick leaps rather than equip a full jet pack. When not deployed, a standard jetpack could be equipped, but after his near death in a bes'uliik duel with Jaster Ordo they were added as a safety measure to reduce the speed of a great fall. They could also be used in water to move quickly without the use of flippers or other aquatic gear. Like most suits of armor in the modern era, Gil's beskar'gam also included a temperature control system, was sealed from the vacuum of space, held about an hour worth of oxygen, and filtered most harmful substances from the air.

Despite its amazing energy resistance, repeated lightsaber strikes would eventually melt through the armor, and beskar mining tools would have no problem getting through. The special alloy that made the armor lighter than usual also conducted electricity abnormally well and so abilities like force lighting, or natural events like lightning strikes or even powerful shock weapons would not only fry systems but also electrocute Gil. Intense heat such as those of natural flames or flamethrowers would also over-heat the suit's temperature control system and could melt the armor and cook him alive if left in the flame for too long. Beskar'gam typically was rather difficult to dent, but kinetic energy could still travel through to Gil in the form of slugthrowers, blasters, or melee strikes and the visor was also vulnerable to attack from sharpshooters and kinetic damage.

The armor represented over 40 years of combat experience and was decorated with scars, small dents, scorch marks, and faded paint. The armor was Gilamar Skirata's pride and joy and though lacking gadgets and technical marvels of some modern beskar'gam such as the Legacy Beskar'gam, it served its wearer well.

Strengths:
  • Quick: The Solus Scyk could outpace many starfighters and outrun most foes.
  • Agile: Its slim profile and advanced maneuvering jets made the Solus Syck a difficult target to lock.
  • Short Range Jammer: Scrambled targeting computers in combat that attempted to lock on to the Solus Syck.
Weaknesses:
  • Old Parts: On the fly repairs were difficult due to the Solus Scyk's older parts.
  • Overheat: Extended repeated use of the lasercannons could cause the weapons to overheat and cease function until serviced.
  • No Ray Shield: Energy weapons deal more damage than kinetic.
  • Trade Off: When the Short Range Jammer is active the Solus Syck's laser cannons were disabled.
Description: Originally designed some time before the Mandalorian Resource Wars, the M3-A Scyk IV Interceptor was a Mandalorian strike craft designed for quick ambushes and raids. Quick and maneuverable for its time the interceptor fell out of use with the Mandalorians some time during the Resource Wars to be replaced with more advanced interceptors. While many of the M3-A Scyk IVs still laid about in the back of clan held hangars throughout Mandalorian space, most of them were too old to fly or their systems too old to be used in combat. On a request from the budding clan Solus, Gilamar Skirata handed most of his clan's remaining Scyck IVs to the clan as a way to give the clan some autonomy in their budding militia.

The ships were heavily modified by Clan Solus engineers and brought to the standards of the galaxy, but not without some trouble. The power requirements of the new tech were too great, thus the interceptors lacked shields and instead compensated with Mandalorian Steel hulls over the original durasteel. Newer weapons produced more heat than the ship was used to and tended to cause heat issues and so the locations of the ion cannons and laser cannons were swapped which put the ion canons on either side of the cockpit and the laser cannons on the new extensions on either side of the vessel which made a fork-like shape and made the starfighter longer than its original form.

Despite these drawbacks though Clan Solus' elite pilots put the starifighter to good use, its new speed and maneuverability rivaling even MandalMotors' Starbird Interceptor. The starfighter offered the clan a new source of autonomy and allowed for long range strikes on targets without the need for a mothership. Some pilots even took to making them the starfighter their main way of travel throughout the galaxy.

  • Missiles: No anti-jamming tech or chaff
Description: Designed and put into service long before the Mandalorian Resource Wars the M22-T Gunship was a staple of Mandalorian warfare for centuries. Small iterations and upgrades were made over the years but the ship largely remained unchanged up until the introduction of a starship simply called the Mandalorian Gunship which outclassed the aging vessel in ever way. The budding Clan Solus however required a ship to fill the troop carrier role and so along with old Scyks, Gilamar Skirata offered up M22s from storage and allowed Clan Solus to utilize them however they saw fit.

Modern weapons systems and engines replaced Imperial-Era technology and the hull was stripped, replaced by the sturdier Mandalorian Steel. Old bulky systems gave way to new troop bays which could hold a small number of troops or two speederbike sized vehicles. The large and aggressive frame of the M22 featured an impressive array of weapons and demanded a crew of three to fly effectively; one pilot and two gunners. Large heat radiators were located along the front of the M22's wings and connected to the two heavy wingtip mounted heavy laser cannons that adorned either side of the ship. These radiators dissipated excess heat which allowed for the continuous use of the cannons without fear of overheating. Both the rear and nose were mounted with light laser turrets which protected the ship from would be assailants.

The interior was tightly packed despite the removal of old systems. The M22 could carry 30 troops in its troop bay and offered little breathing room while standing. Seats lined either side of the troop bay instead which left just enough room for a commanding officer to walk between the two rows. Nestled just behind the cockpit were three bunks for the pilot and gunners on long deployments but there were no escape pods.

The weapons compliment coupled with the starship's class one hyperdrive drastically increased its mission profile which turned the ship from a simple ground support and troop carrier vessel to a ship capable of long range tactical strikes without warship support. However the exposed heat radiators on its wings and abnormally large ion engines gave attackers large targets. The ship also lacked any sort of real jamming tech which made it vulnerable to missiles.

Description: As the Mandalorian Empire rose from the ashes of the civil war, the need became clear for a line of battlecruisers used to extend the iron will of its ruthless leader, Ra Viszla. Ra was, however, simply a pawn in the Sith Empire's push for power and thus was entrusted with dozens of advanced Sith designs that had been in development for years prior. Under his rule, skeletons of these ships were thrust onto MandalMotors, an unwilling accomplice to what was meant to be a new Mandalorian Crusade. After his disappearance construction continued and the incomplete vessels were brought to the attention of now Mand'alor Yasha Mantis during the late construction phases of the Preserver-Class Super Dreadnought. With tensions rising between Mandalorian generals and the Sith Empire, MandalMotors was ordered to continue the project in secret in the steroid fields of Location 6.

The result was the fierce and aggressive Crusader-Class Heavy Dreadnought, a marvel of Mandalorian engineering that took new lessons and technologies from its early development as a Sith warship and fused them with MandalMotors expert engineering. The sharp and imposing warship expanded on the virtues of Sith ship design and exuded pressure on a sector or system from its presence alone.

At a staggering length of five kilometers, the Crusader dwarfed most of the Mandalorian fleet and became the largest warship ever singularly constructed by the Madnalorian shipwright. The ship's frame was long and angular, purpose built with angled and sloped sections of heavy armor plating. Massive blast doors that ran along the spine of the ship retracted and revealed a landing bay that ran almost the full length of the ship, giving way to dozens of hangars and garages that held numerous repulsor tanks, walkers, and bes'uliik war droids. This landing bay allowed for Crusader to launch or land its entire fighter compliment of fighters in a very short time and repair or refuel them during combat with staggering efficiency. Its sheer size also allowed for the emergency use of its landing bay as a holding area for severely damaged frigates and cruisers. Outside of the main hangar, a large docking bay was located on the underbelly of the ship and was used to dock smaller Dreadnoughts and Destroyers for refueling or prisoner transport. It also functioned as the zero-g drop hangar for bes'uliik deployments.

The weapons compliment of the Crusader was impressive, rivaling anything short of a Super Star Destroyer or Super Dreadnought, with thousands of kyber crystal enhanced turbolaser batteries and ion cannons. The Crusader also sported an impressive array of point defense laser and missile turrets designed to put a nearly impenetrable screen of fire between it and would be starfighter assailants. Several long-range hypervelocity guns were placed on the ship which drew an immense amount of power from the ship's several reactors. A unique and unfamiliar technology to the Mandalorians, the hypervelocity cannon was prone to misfires and often required a jamming protocol to be run which lasted several minutes before it could fire again. Despite that, the hypervelocity guns were easily one of the most devastating weapons on the ship, rivaled only by its high powered orbital bombardment autocannons which boasted the fire power to perform a base delta zero all on their own and offered a variable power output for use in terror tactics on unruly or enemy occupied worlds.

Two bulbous towers, one near the ship's center and another towards the front of the ship acted as flight control and communications decks and provided flight instructions for landing and long distance communication for the crew of the Crusaders. Of the crew the ship was mad with the intent to hold full planetary invasion and occupation forces which included Mandalorian Commandos, Shocktroopers, and Bes'uliik best riders. A contingent of Mandalorian soldiers also accompanied the pilots and crew of Crusaders to provide a sense of absolute security on board the vessels. The command deck of the Crusader-class vessels was located just underneath the communication tower deck and offered a windowless view of the battlefield via several advanced cameras and sensors scattered about the hull providing incredibly important info to the crew via advanced holodisplay terminals. Deep within the vessel's compartmentalized structure several back up command centers crewed with emergency personnel allowed the ship to quickly recover should the main bridge be lost during battle.

Limited in number, the advanced Crusader-class Heavy Dreadnought represented a crowning achievement for the rebuilding Mandalorian Empire and was one of the deadliest warships of its time. Each vessel played an important role in the Mandalorian armada. The dreadnoughts were almost always deployed as command vessels in fleets or positioned to drastically expand the influence of the Mandalorian Empire beyond its boarders. Several of the craft also served as mobile training vessels for new generations of Mandalorian soldiers which were sorely needed after both the Second Mandalorian Excision and the recent Civil War left the faction with a staggeringly small military population.

ZLLjvfB.jpg
  • Name: Miranda Heathe
  • Age: 40
  • Species: Human
  • Role: Captain of the Star of Elysium and commanding officer of Elysium Security. She also holds a position akin to Admiral in the MandalMotors corporate fleet.
  • Description: Miranda was a tall, broad shouldered woman whom hailed from a backwater world in the Outer Rim. On her merit alone she was able to attend and graduated from the Republic Naval Academy and served for several years in the Republic Navy. However after the war with the Sith Empire concluded she retired from military service. Some years later she was approached by MandalMotors to lead the fleet of warships that protected MandalMotors shipments. With a distinguished record in the Republic Navy and a full eight years of service to MandalMotors she almost retired happily from the company before she was offered a cushy position as Captain of a new private luxury resort destroyer, the Star of Elysium. She accepted with a hefty pay upgrade and living quarters. Her no nonsense attitude made her unapproachable to most but her love of being in the stars shined whenever she was on the bridge of a warship.

DESCRIPTION
Designed by Mandalorian engineer and shipwright Arthur Morgan, the Hokan'yc-class battle droid, colloquially known as "Cut ups", was the Mandalorian answer to a lack of able bodied men and women for the military. Equipped with several weapons and a shield projector, they acted as bulwarks for Mandalorian troops, often deployed in pairs alongside fireteams to act as heavy fire support. A powerful plasma launcher took up the droid's entire left arm with its right arm also dedicated to numerous weapons. Micronized beskar throughout its frame allowed the droid to move its body freely, but its weight kept it from reaching any high speeds.

The droids performed admirably in testing, however it was noted that their design kept them from being useful in non-solid terrain which was a task better suited to other droids that rolled into use after the Second Mandalorian Excision. Despite its shortcomings, it would go on to become one of the more popular droids put into service by the Mandalorian Empire and the droid entrusted to keeping order on large battlecruisers and military bases throughout Mandalorian Space.

CHRONICLE INFORMATION
Some time after the Galactic Games conclusion, previous Mand'alor, Mia Monroe, partnered with Ijaat Mereel, in one of the bloodiest days in the Mandalorian History. After Ra Viszla's untimely demise, Mia Monroe saw the Mandalorians slip back into old ways. Political bickering between the most influential Clans and Houses left the planet with no Mand'alor and no direction. Even after Vilaz Munin took the mantle, endless raiding and selling their combat skills to the Galaxy seemed to not be bringing the credits needed to sustain the economic boom they had seen during the Sith-Mandalorian war.

A slowly stabilizing economy, seen as a downturn by many, and an atrophying military after a string of difficult battles pushed the woman to action. With only the leader of House Mereel to confide in, she exposed her woes to the Alor. A plan was hatched between the two to raze Mandalore. The pair saw their actions as a way to jump start the Mandalorian people and held true to their beliefs even long after the event.

The pair sent several large seismic charges down the shaft of a dormant volcano. The charges destabilized the planet's core and set off a chain reaction across the planet. Tectonic plates shifted heavily, submarine and land based volcanoes erupted, and earthquakes rocked the planet which sent tsunamis crashing into coastal cities and settlements. The planet was sent into chaos. Volcanic ash set forests thousands of miles away ablaze and burnt millions of acres of forest to the ground. Entire cities were submerged by the ocean and new mountains and lakes were formed over the months that the planet began to re-stabilize.

The event killed over a billion Mandalorians with millions still unable to be found in the ash piles, rubble, flooding, and rock slides. The event rocked Mandalore to its core and saw the near extinction of half of Mandalore's native species and the full extinction of several million species of plants and animals. The Mandalorians that remained quickly left the planet's surface, though not all Mandalorians could escape the planet. Luckily, after the First Mandalorian Excision, perpetrated by Ancient Republic forces, large portions of the planet became inhospitable outside of large, sturdy biodomes. These cities, such as Sundari and Padelfia (along with other as of yet named cities) became havens for those left behind as they were able to survive much of the extreme temperatures and weren't affected at all by the ash. These cities became crucial to the relief effort and were also the catalysts for the Mandalorian Refugee Crisis.

After the Excision, Mandalorians scattered to the wind. Many fled to established Mandalorian Colonies like those in the Roche Asteroids and Echoy'la. Much of the surving Mandalorian Military left the system with Mand'alor Vilaz Munin and fled to Dxun where they hoped to establish and start relief efforts from. The population of Mandalore's habitable moons also increased substantially as refugees from Mandalore began flooding the planets' starports. Notably, the Mandalorians nearly refused aid from the Silver Jedi, nearly firing on their relief ships mere hours after the event. Clan Rekali, a well respected, but mysterious clan, vouched for them and the Silver Jedi were able to begin relief efforts on the planet.

It wouldn't be until the Seven Day War that the Mandalorian returned to the planet. Death Watch, under command of a resurrected Ra Viszla would see oversee the terraforming and ecological clean-up of the planet. It is a miracle that the planet bounced back as quick as it did, though its recent economic bounce back is attributed to the large amounts of beskar the seismic activities brought to bear and the success of large beskar mines such as the Or'dinii Mining Complex. Tremors still occasionally rock the planet's continents and oceans which has made traditional mining difficult and coastal living nigh impossible but the planet for the most part has begun to recover.
