- Description: A subdivision of the elite Ultranaut Corps, the Thunder Corps are the Eternal Army’s primary engine of armored and atmospheric vehicle warfare, its personnel charged with piloting resilient tanks, lumbering walkers, nimble speeder bikes and swoops, armed landspeeders, fast airspeeders, and various other machines, most notably, artillery vehicles. Representing the armored might of the Eternal Army, while less prominent in comparison to the Ultranaut Corps, the Thunder Corps nevertheless form a major part of most, if not all military operations and offensives waged by the Eternal Army. Their presence on the battlefield is often felt in the form of pouding artillery barrages, large armored columns, jet bikes strafing enemy infantry from above, and yet more.
Like their peers in the Ultranaut Corps, all personnel in the Thunder Corps undergo a tough and demanding training regimen, akin to many conventional special forces. While their training naturally places less emphasis on infantry tactics, all Thunder Ultranauts are trained to an exacting degree in martial arts, marksmanship, and various other self-defense skills, in addition to their advanced specialization(s).
Thunder Corps personnel work closely with Ultranauts on an organizational level, often in combined arms battalions. Light cavalry squadrons may be assigned to escort heavy tanks and walkers, while also supporting infantry with fire support. They may also work closely with the Logistics Corps to manipulate the terrain so as to create favorable environmental conditions, clearing mines, building bridges over bodies of water, and setting chokepoints, ultimately allowing Thunder Corps vehicles to more easily operate in a given battlefield.
The Thunder Corps are also deployed for civilian projects, relief efforts, and yet more, typically evacuating people from disaster zones, rescuing trapped victims, and even supporting firefighting efforts.

- Combat Function: The Thunder Corps are the foremost armored formation of the Eternal Army. In Eternal Imperial fashion, they are extremely disciplined and drilled to the point of instinct. However, while the Thunder Corps are extremely versatile, they are ultimately defined by artillery, in line with their adherence to the Storm War doctrine and overwhelming the enemy through dazzling amounts of firepower.
- Agility in Armor - Given the diverse array of vehicles fielded by the Thunder Corps, even by themselves, they are an extremely versatile formation, with machines capable of fulfilling a variety of roles, including air support, anti-armor duties, artillery, and reconnaissance. They are made all the more agile and dynamic when coordinating with Ultranauts and other infantry units, making them a frighteningly responsive foe in almost any given battlefield.
- God of War - Perhaps the defining element of the Eternal Army and its military doctrine, artillery is ultimately the center of the Storm War doctrine and the Thunder Corps are the primary engine through which it is delivered. As such, it goes without saying that the Thunder Corps are among the masters of waging war through overwhelming firepower, capable of breaking enemy formations both physically and mentally by subjecting them to unrelenting, demoralizing bombardment.
- Transport - While many of the faster and lighter vehicles fielded by the Thunder Corps are capable of traversing vast distances in atmosphere on their own, the Thunder Corps ultimately depend on elements outside their unit for transport to a given planet or battlefield, especially pertaining to artillery, heavy tanks, walkers, and heavy wheeled vehicles. In the absence of transport units, the Thunder Corps could be left stranded or be forced to abandon heavier war machines to the enemy.
- Mobility - While formidable in ground-exclusive operations, in fielding so many static and slow-moving assets, namely in the form of artillery, the Thunder Corps are susceptible to counter-bombardments, enemy air units, and to an extent, hit-and-fade tactics. One of the best ways to fight the Thunder Corps is via mobile assets, such as jumptroopers and ground attack craft, which are markedly less susceptible to the artillery barrages which form the center of the Storm War doctrine.
Formed as the Ultranaut Corps matured beyond its initial role of shipboard security into that of a full-scale military corps, the Thunder Corps have operated in concert with the Ultranausts since their formation during the period of the Ancient Eye and the Eternal Empire’s suzerainty under the Confederacy of Independent Systems. As the Eternal Empire developed into a major galactic power, the Thunder Corps followed in their path, becoming a defining part of the nascent nation’s armed forces in the process.
With the ascension of Empress Ingrid L’lerim-Vandiir to the Eternal Throne, this development continued, even as the Eternal Army underwent a cultural shift, away from the ruthless, often brutal doctrines of Tacitus, towards the markedly less forceful ideology of the Crimson Empress. With a renewed focus on developing the Unknown Regions in the wake of the falls of the Second and Third First Orders, the Thunder Corps began to expand as more systems were assimilated into the burgeoning empire.
Having recruited personnel from all across the Unknown Regions, including from ex-First Order loyalists and limited numbers of ex-Wild Hunt personnel from the Agents of Chaos, the Thunder Corps are set to continue waging the campaigns of the Empire, especially as threats like the Shadow Empire, Imperialist Warlords, and the Maw terrorize the Unknown Territories...
