Faction Tutaminis (All Jedi)

Klar chuckled quietly, patting her forearms with each hand in a complicated-looking X cross when Kell Masaara Kell Masaara complimented them. "Thanks. Got 'em for my birthday. Never leave home without 'em."

"I hope I don't make it look too easy, I just tend to pick stuff up quick - got a real," she makes tactical use of air quotes, " 'vibe based' understanding of the Force; I think I get you. It's hard to visualize, y'know, not doing something, letting go - it's gotta go somewhere before it goes out, right?" She shakes her head, "That was the hardest part for me, and I'm still not super nailing it, I think. I can't just," she frowns slightly, making a gesture with her hands that doesn't really communicate anything meaningful - though, that may be the point, "get the hole open."

"No lie, I really do love that for you." Klar promised earnestly, adjusting her sitting position to be slightly more relaxed and slightly less meditative. One leg stretched, one raised, leaning back on her lower arms with her upper hands draped over her knee. "I'm sure it's one of those things where the first step is the hardest. It's really great that you're already figuring that out, though. Genuinely admirable."

The Codru-Ji managed a smile and a sheepish shrug. "I should probably give it another try. And I will. I'm just..." She paused to phrase her words carefully. "Pacing myself? I'm almost invariably the last person working at this sort of exercise. Essentially every time." Klar explained. "The Force just doesn't like me as much, I think. But I'll get there eventually. Probably."

She hugged her knee to her chest, looking thoughtfully at her new friend. "Have you had a chance to meet anyone yet?" Klar asked curiously. "I'm here with the Tython set. I could make some introductions, if you like. Or just give you a quick run-down." She offered.

Kell grins at Klar's response and mirrors the leaned-back posture, idly knocking her boots together. " 'Preciate it," Kell looks out over the remaining trainees, both pacing and practicing, then back to Klar, getting the sense that's not quite all there is to the issue, but she's hardly in the position to press the subject - this is more or less their first for-real meeting. "I reckon the Force likes everybody, much as an inscrutable cosmic thing-bob can, just gotta ask it the right way. You ever seen Spice Wars? The mind-killer quote made it click for me, dumb as that sounds." That was a good movie, regardless. Does Hetaam still have the old holo? She should have gotten it back before leaving Nar Shaddaa, would've been a nice keepsake. Ah well.

She tilts her head side to side in consideration, "Couple people - I was in Aris' class on lightsaber artistry, didn't really get to talk to him, but Zaiya," she nods toward the lovallan girl, "unintentionally helped me out with getting what I wanted it to say. Nice girl. Buried myself in holos for a whole day to make sure I built the thing right, and I come away with a black tube. Yawn! Glad I went," Kell shifts in place to raise her hip a bit, emphasizing her completed lightsaber, "but aside them, I've mostly just caught names and faces here and there. Everybody from the flesh raider field trip, basically. I wouldn't mind bagging a few more, but don't let me distract you from why we're here an' all."

Mak Ondor shuffled around the classroom, watching the students at work. He had listened to master Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor , nodding along as he explained it. Tutaminis was one of those abilities that few would learn and even fewer would master. It needed both total control and total surrender to the force, two concepts that seemed to be at odds with each other. But the force was all about balance between two Ideals. He hoped he could help impart that.

He noticed a young Jedi with glowing marks on her face struggling with the flames. A moments hesitation had cost her a small burn. not even the almost perfect would work here. He shuffled over to her.

"Can I help you, young padawan? Tutaminis is exceedingly difficult to get the hang of but I can sense in your spirit you will understand it, if through willpower alone. Perhaps I can help guide you to the right direction?"

Connel was watching his father teach, when he saw the two Zabrak, or Iridonian, or however they identify...

Way to make me sound racist...

1. Your father is the only one who argues with me, how do you even know about me? 2. It's true, you're confused about that so it is also true.

I have my father's DNA, now stop spamming.

Anyway, he saw issues, so he figured he would help. Reaching and pulling an orb to his hand, Connel walked over, clearing his mind and bringing it over the odd little device. Letting the two of them speak for a moment, he brought his hand lower and lower.

If I could help, I would like to. My fa... Master Vanagor... he likes to talk about "clearing your mind"... don't... if it's troubling for you to do so.... don't. Think about everything you can. but loop back to how it feels right now{/I] as much as you can. Your mind will tell your pain receptors to stop and your body will get to work.

Slowly he lowered his hand all the way down until it engulfed and eventually extinguished the flame. It was almost surreal as while the same level of struggle was in his face, but it worked. He had done basically the same thing.

Do it incrementally, that way you can build up your ability and tolerance. It works, trust me.

Objective: Learn & Practice Tutaminis

Kas gave himself some space away from other Jedi that gathered to either learn, practice or observe the session. The lamp containing the orb inside radiated energy from the Force. Hopefully after a few attempts this would mark his start in the application of Tutaminis. Be open-minded in ways to apply this in the field.

Placed the lamp onto a rock that was at his chest height and Kas lined himself up opposite of the lamp. Breathing calmly and deeply to attain a focused mindset. There were others who weren't successful and then some who achieved it. Dedicated, determined and ready. Kas raised a hand out toward the lamp and closed his eyes to concentrate in connecting with the Force itself. It swirled around his person like a whirlpool.

There was resistance, tension and started to feel heat building up once his hand was making contact with the lamp. Caden and Seri watched their brother focus on the task. Time to see how well his natural talents are.

"Yke hyon fhars oblivyn cnous oblivyn (Translation: He who fears nothing, knows nothing)." Kas said a bit out loud meant to motivate himself. There was always fear but be in control and not dwell on that fear.

Kas didn't over think no. Placed trust in his instincts and they were being guided by the Light side of the Force. He opened up completely to it and allowed his raw, natural talent to welcome the Force in. Like opening a door to let someone enter. Not forcing the entry. Not expecting success at all in using Tutaminis.

The flames would frighten anyone at first but Kas pushed past that obstacle. A Jedi may have fear as an emotion and feeling but with a calm and clear mind anything can be possible. All of that was channelled as the one thought to occupy Kas' mindset. Nothing else. No-one else. Blocking out his surroundings, movements, sounds and basking himself into the Light side of the Force fully. Breathing calmly.

Gradually and slowly, the heat that Kas felt initially began to decrease along with that resistance and tension that wrapped around him. A calm smile noticeable on his face as Kas continued to let this activity continue.

The orb was being absorbed from its stored energy while Kas had placed his hand and fingers on the lamp. Using the Force ability of Tutaminis to draw out that energy from the orb. Easing it out in small parts not rushing activities nor enforcing, manipulating anything either. Letting it all be second nature, natural to him.

Finally, there was success albeit this took some concentration, effort and time but with practice it will improve.

"Huh. No harm done. Trusted my instincts and the Force. Kept a calm and clear mind. Didn't force it." Kas said to himself quietly not disturbing the others having their turns of practice.

Now there were ideas floating around inside of Kas' mind in various methods and ways to use Tutaminis. Clever ones and simple ones, obtaining such knowledge from Caltin was not going to be wasted or used recklessly. It is to be understood and once fully understood many doors of opportunity will open up.

Taking the lamp with the now empty energy removed off the rock. Kas approached Master Vanagor to return the item back with respect. Waited for the Jedi Master to be available to discuss the lesson so far with him.

This would be nice to bring back and show his master Katarine Ryiah Katarine Ryiah and his close friend Valoria Elryne Valoria Elryne when they next meet one another.

"I LOVE Spice Wars!" Klar exclaimed quickly, her eyes wide. Those closest to her knew well that Klar was a major cinephile, even if she didn't really think of it that way - she just liked holofilms. Good ones, bad ones, really bad ones, hilariously bad ones, and the occasional great one. "Tsing was so iconic in that. I want to wear a jacket like his every. Day. If you can find a copy of the original holo, I'd LOVE to see it again."

"It's a good quote, though." She agreed quietly, rubbing her cheek. "If it helps you center, that has value." The intrusive thought of what it'd feel like to poke her eyeball with a jom gabbar entered Klar's mind for not the first time, and served as the impetus to stop touching her face constantly. Again.

Rather than go off on a long ramble about practical effects and whether overacting was even a real thing, Klar scanned the room and kept her tone close and conversational. "Not to worry, though. I'll give you a quick little rundown from the top. Everyone I know." She promised quietly. "I can introduce you whenever. But you seem to have enough boss energy to handle that on your own." Klar complimented.

The first, of course, was the man in the center of everything. Caltin Vanagor. "That's Master Vanagor. He looks really intense, and I hear he is, but he's got big secret softie vibes." The Codru Ji suggested quietly. "This building used to be his house, but he's turned it over to the Jedi as a really nice training facility. I think that guy he keeps talking to is his son, Connel." She explained. "I don't know either of them very well. But they smile a lot when they talk to each other, so I have a high opinion of them as people."

"The composed-looking guy over there is Kas Larsen." Klar moved on. "He seems pretty nice. Maybe a little accident prone, but kind. As far as I can tell, he only messes up on a thing once and then he locks in. It's kind of cool." She elaborated. "The two with him are his siblings. I think... Caden and Seri? They all came to the Temple together, and they're inseparable. I hear they've got one of those generationally potent pedigrees. I've never seen any of them without the other two, but they're all nothing short of friendly and polite."

Klar motioned subtly to Rikuan, hiding a grin. "That's Rikuan - he's a lot of fun." She confided. "I think he's the only Padawan who can make the younglings laugh harder than I can, but he barely has to TRY. He's Master Jonyna Si's student, and I'm factually jealous of that. She practically re-invented Jar'Kai. With that kind of backing, he's gonna be a legend someday."

"The tall, handsome guy over there is Aris. In addition to being Grandmaster Noble's son he's, you know." Klar explained with a cheeky smirk. "Aris is THE GUY. He's tall, he's strong, he's perfect at everything he does. Kind to everyone. The whole kit. I think the girl over there with the glowing marks, Zaiya, is his girlfriend. Or if not, basically is. And she's wonderful, too. Just always nice and composed. She's going to be a fantastic Jedi Master someday, I just bet." Klar stated confidently. "The two of them are absolutely my favorite power couple. I ship them quite hard, but in a very hands-off non-creepy classmate sort of way."

Hmm. Who else. She didn't know a few of the others - like the blue fellow who looked keenly uncomfortable and reeked of wildspace, or the gorgeous silver-haired woman with the eyepatch who looked like a wuxia heroine who'd just stepped out of the screen.

"Oh, over there? That's Jedi Knight Aadihr Lidos." Klar continued. "I've never spoken to him directly, but I always see him on the periphery of things." She explained. "He always seems so steady and placid, but I get the feeling there's more going on beneath the surface. I also think he's dating my friend's Master, but I'm NOT sure on that." Klar snickered. "Whenever I see him, I think of water birds. Like, one of those ones that is perfectly serene above the water but paddling frantically beneath. Also? He has a REALLY nice smile."

"The lady over there with the fantastic horns and hair is Azurine Varek. I think she's a knight? Or just about." Klar added. "She's with Knight Lidos. She's incredibly thoughtful, you can tell just by looking at her. Her brow furrows a little bit when she's thought of something she wants to say but doesn't." Klar elaborated. "I have a way of kind of being on the periphery of things like this, but I always feel like Azurine has noticed my presence - even if we've never spoken to each other. Maybe that's how she wound up with Knight Lidos?"

Klar's face lit up as she nodded to the young Zabrak struggling with the lesson and seeking clarification. "That's Xuko." She explained, giving his name a little more weight the one would speak of a well-known monument or rock star. "He's one of my closest friends. He's the sort of guy who'd jump through fire for you, but also the sort who'd show up with boxes to help you move before anyone else even offered." Klar explained brightly. "I can't say enough good things about Xuko. Really. Ten out of ten guy. Cannot recommend enough. It's really cute when he curses in Iridonian, and his taste in food is extremely questionable. He knows more about wilderness survival than anyone I know and I think that's really quite remarkable and respectable. Also! Also. He knows how to COOK." Klar realized she sounded a bit like she was bragging and moved on, mildly flustered.

"The Ithorian man over there is Master Mak Ondor." Klar added, slightly hushed and respectful. "He's very wise and perceptive. I don't have a grandfather, but if I did I imagine he'd have been like Master Ondor. He gave me some really good advice in a class I took a couple of weeks ago. Just a few insightful sentences and he was off somewhere else. I think there's a wisdom in knowing when to approach and when to leave, and I don't have that wisdom. But I think Master Ondor does. I'm pretty sure if you walked up and asked him for a hug, he'd agree."

"That's essentially everyone here I know." Klar finally finished her extended yapping session, flashing Rell a sheepish grin. "Altogether lovely folk. Sorry for rambling so much. I have a bit of a motormouth once I get going, or so I've been told. Repeatedly. In my defense? Both positive and negative feedback on that. I would watch Spice Wars with any one of them. And possibly any two."

Kell, for want of a more apt description, pogs. Spice Wars fan! Let's go! "Oh, word, Tsing was made for the role. I had a Huttese bootleg copy back in the day, the dubbing was rough, but the physical character he put on the screen was pure kino. Forgos was stellar, too, such a powerful presence and I felt like she had a smooth chemistry with the rest of the cast, she had me hooked. If I come across a genuine copy, we're having movie night, promise."

She offers up a fist to bump, restabilizing herself when tapped as she follows Klar's introductions with her head. Phew. Lotta info, little time. Gonna lock those tidbits away in the ol' mind palace for now; she's sure she'll get to make friends with everybody in time. "Hey, if you got something to say, don't be ashamed about it, we're not negotiating a trade agreement or nothin'," she says, leaning closer, a sly grin crossing her features as she lowers her voice to a not-quite-whisper, "and sounds like you got a soft spot for Xuko, hey? That your hangup - boy trouble? Performance anxiety?" Trouble loosely defined, of course - good for them, it's always super to see a couple enthusiastic about their partners. Makes her think about the coolant incident with one of her old flames. Took hours to get that poor boy clean.
