Trouble on Trandosha [SJO Campaign]

Mission One: Trouble on Trandosha.
Kastolar Sector Campaign:
Location: Trandosha, Hsskhor (Capital City).
Taskforce: Silver Jedi (Force Users).

Introduction:
An agent of the Silver Shadows has reported back to the Silver Assembly whilst on assignment on the World of Trandosha. Jedi Knight Anetta Solus has discovered a criminal cell responsible for the arms dealership of a number of criminal groups.

While this in itself is a crime requiring immediate action, the urgency in her report comes with the news that one of the suspected associates, Janik Lugar, is due to purchase a new bulk supply of high-tech firearms and has been gloating about the recent pirate attacks near New Apsolon Space.

Though details are scarce and Anetta Solus’ position on Trandosha is time sensitive, she has also reported suspicion of a larger Criminal Organization behind the pushing of firearms in this region.

Mission Objective/s:

  1. Rendezvous with Jedi Knight, Anetta Solus.

  2. Ambush the Arms Deal and apprehend Janik Lugar, as well as any additional associates.

  3. Ascertain any connection between criminals and their affiliated criminal organizations.

The Capital City of Trandosha, Hsskhor, was a hive of criminality in the Galaxy. Corruption ran deep within every corner of the City, despite the Order of the Silver Jedi having come to preside over the sector, offering stability and protection to the people. For a Silver Jedi, there would always be something to find on Trandosha and today this would be no different to those the young Jedi Knight, Anetta Solus was scheduled to meet with.

Anetta was a human woman, which for someone whom lived a life as a double-agent in the underworld of Trandosha, could often-times be quite unsettling and open her up to discrimination based upon her looks alone. Anetta wasn't a strong looking woman, nor was she tall. In fact she was the opposite of the likes you might expect to find when thinking of a member of the Silver Shadows.

The Shadows were a sect of the Order of the Silver Jedi whom took it upon themselves to embed themselves into the darkest aspects of the Galaxy, and in many times living a life of crime in order to achieve the greatest impact within Organizations that were deep seeded within governments known to paying off the law and escaping the consequences of their crimes.

Seated within the back of a particularly shady Cantina in the Hsskhor Slums district, "The Korrina's Claw" was a front for agents of the Order, known only to the Senior Assembly for any affiliation with the Silver Jedi. The establishment was sectioned off into three parts, and the facilities at the rear were reserved solely for the use of the Shadows, their security funded by the Order and kept off the records in order to maintain absolute privacy from other parties or persons whom would seek to interfere with the Order's counter-offensive against the criminal underworld.

The room didn't look anything akin to the typical operations a Silver Jedi might host a briefing for an upcoming mission, but maintained the layout of the adult entertainment business for VIP's. Naturally, Anetta Solus was the only one present this day, the dancers and the public had been informed of scheduled maintenance, a farce for the eight expected Silver Jedi to come and learn of the pending Arms Deal that Anetta had uncovered through her informants. It was the slave trade that Anetta worked to counter-act, yet any information pertaining to the recent uprise in criminal activity across the Kastolar Sector, had been sent across the Shadow network in the case that something might come to light in their operations.

For the time being, she'd simply await her coming guests and double-check the files she held on her datapad.

Subject 73 Red

We're more ghosts than people.
Objective: 1
Open

Red entered the cantina "The Korrina's Claw" and looked around. Near the back, he saw who he was to rendezvous with, the Jedi Knight Anetta Solus. Good, he had come to the right place.

Red walked over to her and flashed an I.D. to show that he was one of the ones sent to her.

"I'm Agent Red. I'm apart of the Order. Sent to rendezvous with a Miss Anetta Solus. Are you her?" Red asked. Even though he knew that it was her, he still had to ask, just to make sure he wasn't wrong.

The reason why the Order had sent him was because of two traits. The first trait was his combat expertise, he had always excelled in combat. The other trait was his detective and investigative skills, he was a master at finding evidence and using that evidence.

Hsskhor.

She hadn't been here since she'd been a padawan, and that had been seventy-five years ago.

One thing that she didn't like was the cloak and dagger. Jedi Shadows played things a little too close to the grey for her taste. Kory liked things simple. Everything out in the open. If worst came to worst, you just hit the thing with a bigger lightsaber if you had to.

She was dressed like a maintenance repairman. One piece overalls and a hard hat, wielding a clipboard in one hand and a small tool kit in the other. Seventy years, she'd been doing this Jedi thing and now she was a damn general repairman.

"If anyone asks, I charge time and a half for plumbing work," the old matriarch commented dryly, as the silver haired Jedi made her way inside the establishment that the Jedi Shadows had carved out for surveillance of Transdosha. Just what kind of cover was this supposed to be, anyway? Strippers in the front, hookers and blow out back?

None of this was improving her opinion on Jedi Sentinels.

Coming through the door, the woman cast aside her clipboard and then set the tool kit down on top of a small round table, giving her a vantage point on the small bar that appeared to have a couple of bottled arranged. Surely for just the sake of maintaining appearances, but if the rest of this assignment was anything like the start of the assignment, then Kory would be taking one of those bottles of Corellian whisky with her to get through this.

The best way to travel was on the shoulder of a Too Big.

This one. [member="Ember Farseer"]. Was nice! They had met briefly on a different world. Hutt Space, Nar... something. Not Shaddaa no. There had been a collapse, she had found an ancient temple and the Jedi Master had even pointed out a Holocron to her! That discovery had truly increased her standing with the Order. Not everyone was taking her seriously.

But more each day.

And that was nice.

"I understand the concept of covert operations, Master Farseer." The Nezumi squeaked into his ear. Tone very excited, head swiveling back and forth, so she could catch every little detail of the streets and crowds around them. "But is that not something more for the Antarian Rangers?" The smell of the streets was repulsive. Every step a whiff of ew. It seemed... so unlike the Jedi to be involved here. Where were the gardens? The peaceful meditation? Younglings running about, while wise Bigs explained historical lessons?

"Korrina's Claw...."

Reading it out-loud as they passed under the sign and into the bar.

"Hopefully Korrina keeps her claw to herself......" That last bit a bit frightful and worried. Of course, that didn't stop the smol Jedi from skipping off of Ember's shoulder. It was a new room! Full of things to explore. She crawled past the bar. Peering at the bottles with strange liquids.

That put Nadi right next to [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"].

For a moment the Nezumi studied her, before going back to the bottles. Those were more interesting than an old Big. At least for now.

With the help of his friend and pilot Simon Geo, Reggie was able to travel to Hsskhor on an assignment. This was the first time the Padawan had been on the planet, so he took in the sights that it had to offer. It wasn't much.

Reggie came dressed in grey clothes, a short and tattered cloak, and boots. He didn't want his presence as a jedi to be known, so he wore clothes that wouldn't bring attention to himself. He had learned how to blend in environments effectively because of Seo Linn and her family. The Padawan was grateful for what they taught him.

His lightsaber and datapad were in a pouch he wore on his belt. Unlike those items, his staff wasn't as easily hidden, so he left it on the ship. He preferred the weapon over his lightsaber because it was a nonlethal weapon compared to his lightsaber, but Reggie could do without it.

When he arrived to the cantina, Reggie slipped into the building quickly while making sure no one was paying him much thought. Taking a look around, he noticed [member="Subject 73 Red"], [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"], [member="Ember Farseer"], and a woman who he thought to be Knight Anetta Solus. On further inspection he noticed [member="Bushi Nadora"], who was next to the older Jedi. If he wasn't paying attention, he wouldn't have noticed them. In total, he knew no one here. That was never a problem for him though. Reggie went to the back where the suspected Jedi Knight was sitting.

"Hello."

Red looked at all of the people in the room. He studied them, examining them. He looked at the way they held themselves, the way their eyes looked around, the way their shoulders were positioned, and other barely noticeable features of his coworkers. He had a pretty good image of their personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. He started filing them into different roles for the mission.

"This everyone?" Red asked.

"No its not Agent Red."

Quickly responding to the man who was not a force user, but was somehow allowed to be joining the Jedi in an mission to rendezvous with another Jedi, for the purpose of taking down some Drug cartel or suppliers. However, what got me to not really be in a happy mood, was with how easily he spoke his name, and how easily he would expose the operative that was working to stay in the shadows. Right out in the open cantina. Was he really an agent or someone who was new to the Silver Jedi and didn't know how they would operate?

My hands while folded into my jacket, My right hand held softly onto the grip of a pistol hidden and kept in the holster. If anything, it would look like I was just shoving my hands into my pits to hold them somewhere. Removing them as I stood up from the chair not so far from the Jedi and those who entered, I nudged my head over to the side.

"Lets find some place with a little more privacy. Too many eyes is a bad thing."

We were here to get information from someone. If she wanted to keep her cover in tact, then she couldn't be seen with us. However, it seemed like that was now out of the question. This may be her last mission on Trandosha if we kept spouting names out loud and clearly giving away our position.

Red smiled. He knew that he had gotten into Kale Seleare's head and made him uncomfortable. Good. Red liked it when he got into people's heads. It was almost too easy.

Red studied Kale, examining him.

"You're a smart man, sir. But you're wrong about many things. One, I am a force user, I could tell the way you looked disdainfully at me for half of a second. Two: When I entered the cantina, I did a quick check and there is no one listening, the room is not bugged. Three: we are the only ones in this cantina, everyone else thinks that it is scheduled for maintenance, so the employees and the public will stay away. Four: I have read all of your files, so I know who you all are. Five: I am trained in counterespionage, someone listening on the room would think that I said all of that way too easily, as you just did, and easily think that anything I said was meant to misinform them, when I was really saying the truth, but thank you for bringing that up for all to hear."

The way Red said it, it was calm and collected at first at hearing it, but at closer examination, it was loaded with information. Especially that last sentence, even though it sounded normal, he basically just called [member="Kale Seleare"] dull, slow, and stupid right to his face, without it even sounding like it. Red was exceptionally good at twisting the meaning of his words.

And Red had found all of that out by just merely looking at Kale.

"This everyone" [member="Subject 73 Red"] asked.

"Of course not. Sorry, I had business to tend to at my hotel down in Forak: these Ta'jar Blood Gang guys are pretty demanding guests"

Anetta wanted to meet with the other Jedi at Korrina's Claw? What made Anetta not want anything to do with the Crown Nebula Hotel? she thought, puzzled that a Jedi would want to meet with others in that sort of place, other than perhaps being unable to afford a five-star hotel or restaurant. [member="Kale Seleare"] may have had a valid concern however, knowing that anonymity is not the same as privacy. [member="Reggie Faayare"] may or may not have known about the hotel, no more than [member="Bushi Nadora"] or [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"] may have. Yes, Varindar has worked among the Trandoshan underworld even as far as Ceraluen or Kintan, just that she wasn't sure about claiming Ta'jar affiliation for that sort of thing. However, with each new mission, she feels uneasy especially if it turns out people close to the mark were guests at her hotel.

The recent pirate attacks had been an increasing concern, and had caused them trouble with neighboring organizations that sought to take advantage of the chaos for their own benefit. Along with the threat of them apparently being accompanied by Sith, this needed to be looked into and dealt with as soon as possible in order to secure the safety of the people on the planets threatened. Whether these criminals had anything to do with the pirates or not, Josh wasn't sure. But if they were a big enough threat to be given this high priority of a mission, then he wanted to be there to make sure. Especially if it ended up being exceedingly dangerous. This team, which included one of his own students, would quite possibly need a battle-ready Jedi Master who didn't mind jumping into the fray at any moment.

Either way, it involved their efforts against the slave trade. Which Josh had been working on mobilizing the Silver Shields to be more active in combating. This could be worthwhile toward that goal.

Josh was no stranger to this level of undercover work from his days with the Galactic Republic, but knowing that the Shadows had to go to these lengths to achieve their aims still made him sick. He knew they had to. He had been in this position before. But it made it feel no better. Walking into the Korrina's Claw, the Senior Assembly member stepped in to hear someone scolding a Padawan about the particulars of their assignment, and far too openly for his liking. Sure, he may have scanned beforehand, but there were some things that scanners just couldn't detect... Nor could senses. This too, he knew personally.

Stepping out of the White Current, he revealed himself to be standing behind [member="Subject 73 Red"] as he finished his spiel. None would have been able to trace him through the strength of the illusion, neither through technology or the Force. Not unless the user knew Current perception themselves. He wore his hair down, with a rough looking black leather jacket hiding his weaponry. He fit in as well here as he could, considering the nature of the planet. But he had remained under the Current regardless in case was recognized, at least until he stepped into the cantina.

Then he spoke up from behind him, the moment he revealed himself and ended the pull of the Current. Calm, collected, as if nothing was odd at all about his appearance.

"It's always good to exercise caution, Red. You can't fault the boy for trying. But here should be fine, unless she wants us to move. Our host will know what's best."

Anetta Solus studied the group as they gradually made their way inside the establishment, choosing to remain silent and observe their movements and mannerisms as a few of them questioned their numbers and general location. There seemed to be a measure of indifference between a couple of her new co-workers for this operation, which didn't pose much in the way of a professional manner.

To say they were a curious assortment of agents for such an assignment, would be stating the obvious. Standing within the Cantina designed for far less moral types of characters, these Silver Jedi stuck out like bollocks on a bantha. Like many of the establishments more private affairs however, the protocol was all the same, business in the back where they would be removed from the public eye.

The Shadow's avian friend gave a loud shriek upon their closing proximity, to which Anetta waved the group of them in to gather around at the table she sat behind. The round booth, with dark red cushioned seats, there plenty of room for all eight of the Order's agents. Preparing a collection of documents, gathered into individual files, one for each of the Silver Jedi, Anetta would pass them across the table to them as they eventually found their seating.

"The information before you all concerns a criminal element on Trandosha calling themselves the Hsskor Dominion" Anetta got straight to the point, starting the briefing promptly, as soon as the last of the group had been seated. "They are scheduled to meet with an outside affiliation with the purpose of trading arms. Your priority target will not be the Hsskor Dominion itself, but the leading person we suspect to have arranged the deal with the intention of creating larger illicit business on Trandosha. The Silver Assembly..." Anetta gestured to Master [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] in recognition of his position. Intelligence was her field after all. "...-Have expressed international interest in this man, Janik Lugar for suspicion of further ties to criminal activity in the Kastolar Sector".

"Your objective location is a metal works foundry on the western point of Hsskor, as disclosed in your files. Take care to understand the lay of the land people, these files will be burned following this meeting" she informed them bluntly. "I've deemed it best to divide yourselves into two teams, take to either side of the facility and flank the business deal. Ambush and take down as many operatives as possible, but your primary goal is taking Janik Lugar alive".

"Questions?".

Chastising me for attempting to keep the identity of the Silver Shadow in tact? Chastising my mental thoughts? How could this man know so much just from my standing up, and indicating to find some place else. While I did hear a voice of another lady about not being the only ones in the group, I did quickly scan to her person. Before returning my attention to the man who thought right to openly ridicule me. However, I could hardly hold back a smile as he seemed fit to try and explain himself. On the back foot was he? Having to explain to me? I just shook my head in disappointment as a being just quite literally, popped into existence behind this "Agent Red"

While I was not a short man, it seemed like most of the men here were around my own height. However, this ghostly man who appeared, had long golden locks of hair that flowed just barely over the collar of his black leather jacket. I knew that people within the Silver Jedi were powerful, but being able to hide completely? I knew this man was clearly a Master of whatever art it was. If anything, I thought he may have had something more about him. Yet, I expected him to chastise me as well.

No. Instead, he spoke with a rather calm and deep voice that reasoned with me, and that my mind was in the right place. However, also mentioning that we should be fine. It was now that I remembered my teachings by Master Romi. When I ever felt like doing something I may regret, or making rash decisions, I needed to calm and center myself. And so I did. Even as we began to move over to the table in which files were handed out, I practiced the subtle breathing technique I had been taught. Listening to the Shadow as she explained a shortened version of what needed to be done. Also claiming that it would be easier if we performed a pinch on the Pirate ring. Namely two teams.

To me, it made sense. Putting pressure on them from more than one angle could make some of the less formidable pirates to lose their head. Reading over the man's file, Even more so, getting a mental picture of the man who would be "Janik Lugar" Disheveled a bit, a fairly lengthy beard, and typically wearing the gear provided. Looking up to the Shadow I had noticed that she inclined that the Master was part of the Silver Assembly. So does that mean this guy is one of the top dogs within the Silver Jedi? Then why was he here instead off on something that may have been galaxy defining. Rather than a black market sting operation?

I didn't pose any further questions within my own mind, carefully leaving it blank because apparently some people could read minds. Keeping my thoughts to myself.

"Will we capture other pirates, or just eliminate them and only capture Lugar?

For a while Nadi simply listened.

With one ear, admittedly, because the inner-workings of the bar were very interesting to her. But. Listening nonetheless. In truth Nadora wasn't prepared to pipe up. There were too many people here she didn't know. Too Big. Even [member="Ember Farseer"] was still strange to her. It would have been safer to just stay quiet. When the Solus spoke of eliminating the others?

Her brows rose up.

Maybe she misunderstood?

Then Kale Seleare asked the question that said otherwise. No, she had heard it correctly.

"Um, excuse me?" The smol Nezumi squeaked out. "Sorry? Hello? Hi. Mister Seleare's question is related to mine." Halfway through getting embarrassed at all the attention. Oh no, this is worse than being ignored, oh no. But even with that realization she couldn't stop. Not now. That would be even worse.

"Can't we... just incapacitate them? Bring them to justice?"

Smol paws wrung together in discomfort.

She had never killed anyone before.

The tension between the fellow Padawan and agent red, someone that had peaked Reggie's interest from the name alone, was making him feel uncomfortable. This wasn't the best way to start a mission together. Reggie was going to attempt to maje sure things didn't escalate further, but a familiar presence beat him to it.

Master Dragonsflame's appearance made Reggie feel more confident about joining this taskforce. Here was someone he knew more than the others present, which would help him work better under any alarming circumstances that could arise during the mission.

It didn't take long for Knight Solus to gesture for everyone to come to the table and everyone to take their seats. The Padawan listened attentively and looked through the documents given to them.

The Objective and plan was clear enough for him. Now the question that was posed by the other Padawan's was on Reggie's mind as well. Reggie would rather not have to kill anyone, however he wasn't naive. Even so, he had never killed anyone himself and would like to keep it that way if he could. Watching [member="Bushi Nadora"] as she spoke, it seemed like they both shared the same, uncomfortable feeling on the matter.

The woman's reaction, or rather lack of which, might have come as something of a surprise to the morale standing of the Silver Jedi before her, yet their field of expertise differed far from her own. "The tactics in which you and your team choose to accomplish the objective is entirely up to you; dead or alive, the end-result is all the same. Less firearms in the hands of known criminals, meaning less potential harm dealt to the civilians of Trandosha, or at the very least, Hsskhor".

Anetta Solus wasn't a Temple resident, she'd spent so many years in the underworld of Trandosha now that she might as well have been considered a criminal herself for the things she had been forced to do in order to keep the cover of the Silver Shadow's operations there. It wasn't just one assignment for the woman, but a daily basis in which she lived under the guise of an alias, living well outside of the law to ensure that information continued to flow freely to the Order of the Silver Jedi when circumstance deemed it dire enough. Once upon a time, she had been vigilant in her path, aiming to be a great Jedi Knight, a beacon of light in the Galaxy. The Death of her Master and the opportunities that arose however, gave the Silver Jedi a door into Trandosha's worst, and in this, Anetta decided she would prove to be most useful. Years down the track, and you could barely see any resemblance of what a Jedi might look like on the outside, in her appearance and demeanor.

"Anything further?".

Red nodded.

"Yes, multiple questions, How many hostiles are we dealing with? Is free-fire established? Should civilian casualties be kept to a minimum? And who are on the teams, and which one am I on?" Red asked, his mind instantly going into military planning and strategic thinking. He was a commando, so he had to be ready for anything and be prepared to do anything.

"Also, who here knows how to pinch people's nerves with the Force? Or Neural Storm? That would be useful if you wish to incapacitate hostiles so that we can capture them" she tried to answer [member="Bushi Nadora"]'s query.

If only a person that knew either Force-stun or Neural Storm was here... but there is only one person I even heard about that knew the latter, and that person couldn't come. Too busy dealing with ruping-troubled clients on Onderon, she said, Varindar thought, while [member="Subject 73 Red"] and [member="Reggie Faayare"] had questions of their own, as well as [member="Ember Farseer"] that seemed to keep quiet, and [member="Kale Seleare"] had a few observations. And somehow, the Order saw fit to risk [member="Josh Dragonsflame"], so clearly this operation was a crucial one, critical even, for Trandosha's security. However, Varindar brought different things to the table compared to "The Accountant" whom she knew Reggie knew. She could always, for example, roast one's weapon and cause the wielder to get burned to the point they can't wield it anymore, and handling such a person would be very different. But she could now see how a Jedi that was in deep cover for years would change after all this time spent among the Trandoshan underworld. Yet, she was still willing to roll with whichever team she would be assigned to.

Reggie let out a sigh of relief, though he hoped no one noticed. He listened to [member="Subject 73 Red"] and [member="Varindar Asyt"] as they asked their questions, deciding to answer some of them on his own.

"To answer your third question Agent Red, I believe civilian casualties should definitely be kept to a minimum, and I'm sure most here agree on that...correct me if I'm wrong of course. I'm sure that there won't be too many civilians around the facility anyway, especially if the criminals wanted to keep this under wraps. Again, correct me if I'm wrong Knight Solus."

Of course, Reggie was just stating his thoughts on the matter. He was sure that with the skills of the people present they could achieve low casualties even if there were civilians, especially with Knight Asyt, Agent Red, and Master Dragonsflame. From what he knew of the two Jedi and from what he could tell from his first impression of the agent, they could probably do the operation with just the three of them. Though that would be more dangerous of course.

"To answer your question Knight Asyt, I know how to use force stun. To a less efficient extent, I can also use force stasis."

Reggie answered Knight Asyt question to give both her and the group information that could be helpful when forming groups, if they were to form the groups themselves. They were skills he made sure he could use early on before he'd obtained his staff, which would really be useful now. No point on dwelling on that now though.

Subject 73 Red

We're more ghosts than people.
[member="Reggie Faayare"]

Red turned to Reggie and looked at him. Red examined him and looked at his personality and attitude. Red's red eyes seemed to bore into Reggie. Red listened to him.

Red nodded.

"Acknowledged. Other question, who are on the teams, and which one am I on?"

"I have a variety of stunning capabilities, Miss Asyt. I can make use of them if the need arises."

He couldn't help but stare at their informant. He could sense some traces of the Force remaining, though it was likely kept well hidden. But there was something about her... It was clear that whatever had remained of their mindset as a Jedi Knight had been wittled down by this climate. Josh knew the necessity of operations such as these, yet... He couldn't help but question if it was right. To allow their own to spend so much time in places like this, doing the things they had to do just for a cause... He did it for a short while once upon a time, and he swore never to do it again. He didn't know how someone could do it long term. How it must impact the mind, he couldn't imagine. This was inhumane. Necessary... Yet inhumane all the same.

He looked to the others when the topic of lethality was broached, and their host indicated that they didn't care how it was done.

"Preference here is to go non-lethal. Lethal is only when necessary. The Silver Jedi Order has never been about dealing death left and right... Only doing what is necessary. We kill only when we have to."

Looking to Reggie when he spoke up, he nodded his head. "Civilian casualties are an absolute no-no. Keep them to a minimum. Their safety is our job. Our work means nothing if the people we seek to protect aren't alive to reap that protection."

Then it came to answer the one, Red, who had been making a scene earlier.

"We have eight people. Which means four people per team. As for who should go where... While people may go where they like, I would recommend keeping Mr. Red and Mr. [member="Kale Seleare"] separate. There is no room for error here."
