“This all looks like a truly noble, amazing way to live.” She looked around. “I love this planet, and this even more.”.

You’re right that it does trickle down into us, the influence of our elders. We become who we are because of who they are. I am not Caltin Vanagor, but I am his son, I am influenced by him as I am influenced by Uncle Thurion as well.

“We’re also our own people though. My dad was Mandalorian, another warrior culture, but that doesn’t mean I am. You know?” The huge Valkyri came back with trays “Ooooo” She looked at the treats excited.

So, you “disappeared”... what happened if you don’t mind my asking. He poured a couple of cups and started passing them out. It was not something to be expected, but the tea was good and the pastries were nice. So, what is at the core of the Valkyri?

As tea was passed out, Mysa initially left hers alone. More oft' than not, in the wilds she was left to drink nettle tea, dandelion tea, and other non-traditional variants in place of black, none of which she had the milk for. It was only natural that she left hers to cool, forgetting in truth that it could be any other way.
It was not until Oljver stepped closer to kneel at her side that she blinked away from the fire to look upon him.
"You like your tea with honey and milk, Princess," he reminded her oh so gently, and before she could dispute that fact the swornsword was adding it to her cup. He made it just so, then offered it up with both hands. "Please," he said, voice quiet and tender, "You are home now, you need not only survive."
Mysa stroked his cheek, then down his arm to touch his hand, the one cupping the mug. "I do not deserve you" she whispered. "Your dedication, your loyalty..."
Taking the mug, Mysa sipped and closed her eyes and savoured it. "Home" she exhaled. Yes, this was that, and it was a long time coming.
"That is what it is to be Valkyri" she went on to say, without opening her eyes. "It is to be steadfast and strong, loyal and kindred, it is community and duty. Ours is a harsh world, none can truly navigate it alone... not even if they try so hard to do so."
She and Oljver came forehead to forehead for a moment, before the Princess sighed and drew back.
Connel's other question was... a difficult one.
"The Gods took too much from me" she finally confessed, "And I could not face the Dawn."
She nudged the tray of treats toward her guests then, and sat back in her seat to sip her tea.
"I do not wish to speak on it."

“This sounds wonderful in its simplicity, and I mean that in the best way possible. Thank you for sharing all of this.”

Connel was paying attention to the actions of the woman however. He had touched a sore spot and that was the last thing that he wanted to do. Then speak nothing of it and please accept my sincere apology, that is your business and yours alone. He sipped his tea showing appreciation for the loyalty Oljver was showing her.

He then started showing where his cybernetic implants and prosthetics were. All thanks to a Sith named “Darth Kizash”, having all but drawn and quartered him on the planet Vendaxa. Every bit of his connection to the Force kept him alive long enough. Thirdas Heavenshield Thirdas Heavenshield found me.

"You do not need to apologize" Mysa assured him, as she took another sip of Oljver's concoction. It was, she must admit, precisely how she liked her tea, and with a slow sigh she leaned against her swornsword's arm. "You were correct" she whispered. "Thank you, good Ser."
As Connel began to speak on implants and prosthetics, Mysa's already pale skin turned slightly waxier, and she turned back toward the fire as though somehow she could burn away the horrid memories of her own that were brought about at talks of Sith and torture. Joon came to mind, and for a moment she was no longer sat there in comfort and warmth, she was stuck in that sterile cockpit with a crazed woman who thought she loved her.
Who wanted to break her, to tempt her, to tear her into something she was not.
She still had scars from that encounter, and they ran deeper than the skin alone.
"I am glad he found you" she said, as though she had not just slipped from the room to some time-before, all while her body remained put. "He is a good man, a dear man." Gods, did she miss him. Miss all of the clan she had known as her family, her siblings.
Without warning, Mysa rose from her seat and approached the door. "I am sorry, excuse me a moment." When Oljver tried to follow she lifted a hand to halt him. "We have guests, Oljver" she reminded him. "Show them hospitality."
Once on the other side of the door, the girl did not go far. She walked just long enough to find a dark, empty hallway, then set her back to the wall and slid down to her backside.

The conversation with Olvjer and the others was actually relaxing, swapping stories and having a good time with people is something they don't get to do often. They've spent a fair bit of time in the last few days talking about what they want to do with their lives, what they want to accomplish, and how they're going to do it. It was a good way to spend the time, even if they didn't get much work done, and it was nice to know that there were people out who lived like this, working for themselves and doing what they wanted to do with their lives, rather than just being slaves to the system and doing what they were told to do.

Oljver kept the conversation going for a while, largely allowing the Vanagor's to lead it but offering snippets here and there himself. He made sure their cups remained topped up, and that they did not go hungry.
Notably, he kept Mysa's cup warm too; he also held back a few of the treats, kept on a plate by her seat.
Five minutes passed, then ten, all while the young woman remained hidden in that hallway. Breathing as best as she could, deep and slow and laboured, until the rising panic began to subside and memories of Thainbroek and of Joon began to wane.
Only then did she make her way back into the room, with a gentle knock of the door marking her return.

It had been a few minutes since the Princess had attended to what she needed to do, Connel was holding conversation with the Valkyri but Lira noticed the departure. She had seen it in her husband many times, his social anxiety, mind you she did know that this was what was going on with Mysa but she knew what she saw and would not press, everyone dealt with their own issues in their own way.

Connel was in the middle of a conversation with Olvjer about his time learning the ways of the Shadow when the Princess had returned. Of course Connel stood up to greet her (as no doubt did the Valkyri) but it was Lira who greeted her “Welcome back! Everything alright?” No need to press, just to let the girl know that all was well and everyone in the room was there for her if she needed it.

Mysa smiled as Connel rose to greet her and Oljver stepped closer to offer a guiding hand. "Hello, Princess," he said softly, urging her back toward her seat. She settled then looked to Lira with a small nod of her head.
"Yes, everything is fine, thank you."
She reached for her tea, surprised to see it had been kept warm and topped up, then finally took up one of the jam filled pastries to munch on. A soft gasp of delight escaped her, it had been so long since she'd had a treat like this.
The girl broke a tiny piece off and offered it down to Felix; he didn't usually get anything like it, but she shared what she could.
"So, how long have you both been visiting Midvinter?" she asked.

The question was as simple as it was complicated: “How long have you been visiting Midvinter? Well, we live on the Homestead outside of Heavenheim, my mother originally built a house out there when I moved her out here after my father’s passing at the battle of Coruscant. We’ve built a second house out there so that she could have her space but we could still be close to each other, especially after we start a family of our own.

That was a plan they had talked about but weren’t there yet. They had a few more years before they could make it happen but they were both very excited about it.

Mysa nodded her head as he spoke of their plans. "So this is your home now" she corrected herself, "I am glad that you like it here, it is a nice place to live if you can tolerate the cold. Far from the general chaos of the wider Galaxy."
She offered them a smile.
"I wish you luck with your journey into parenthood."

“Thank you so much!” Lira said warmly as she munched on one of the treats. She did love the culture, the people and the food of the planet, but she did hate the cold. It was a good trade-off though, and his family was wonderful so she didn’t mind the cold too much.

May I ask a question. You’re attune to the Force. Am I correct in assuming that you’re a Jedi Knight?

She shifted slightly in her seat as the question came, before very slowly nodding her head.
"Sort of" she said; "I mean, I was. I guess I am? It is... complicated." She frowned, and glanced toward Connel. "Why do you ask?"
If Lira did not already have a nice thick cloak, Mysa would be sure to find her one before the day was over.

Lira was indeed cold, so Connel took his coat and put it around her shoulders. She has warm clothes, she just did not dress warmly enough today.

I didn’t mean to pry, I apologize. I just sensed it on you and the general alignment. It’s an old trick that my Father taught me to learn the level of your connection is all. No disrespect intended.

Mysa shook her head and smiled. "I took no offense to the question" she assured him, "I just wondered if there was a reason you wished to know or if it was merely curiosity."
Oljver had stationed himself at her side again, stood tall, and after a moment Mysa reached up to gently guide him down to kneel on a pillow.

"Eat, please" she urged her Knight, "I know that you are hungry too." She set some honeyed toast and one of the pastries on a plate, and offered it across to him.
"Yes, Princess; thank you, Princess."

Fair enough, I…

“ROCKSLIDE!” A loud crashing sound is heard from the north end of the town. A black cloud of dust fills the air as a large rock slides across the street, destroying everything in its path. Connel reached out through the Force and stopped it in its tracks. The problem is that was not all, more were coming.

“Go… I’ll help get people clear.” Lira was more than capable of taking care of herself, but she was not going to leave anyone else behind if she could help it. She sprinted towards the general direction of where she had heard the rocks coming from, hoping that she could get to the little ones before they were crushed by a falling rock.

The voice was sudden and booming, accompanied by the long drawn out bellow of a horn coming from the northern reaches of Heavenheim; the city itself was not belayed by rocks, but the outskirts were and the village houses there were much less sturdy than those within the walls perimeter.
Mysa did not rise, instead she flicked her hand toward the window and drew it open without a moment's thought. "Fly" she told Odiir, who did as he was bid and soon enough the great andoryn was outside and soaring through the air. Her eyes rolled back, showing more white than her usual blue, body tense as she locked onto the bird and saw through his eyes.
Northway she communicated to Lira, Connel, and Oljver, though her lips never once moved, Just beyond the city gates. The main road's cut off, I'd take the eastern route around.
Oljver was already headed out, drawing the attention of several of the castle guards - though he made sure to keep the rest from following. The last thing they wanted was for this to be an unnatural disaster meant to draw protection away from the city and its keep.
Mysa had seen stranger things happen.

~North…~

He made his way through the city, trying to find the north gate. The sun was high in the sky, and it felt like the air was getting thick with dust, he could see the road ahead of him, but it was hard to tell just how bad the road was destroyed until he had gotten there. Not only that, there was a large part of the smaller mountain crumbling still. There was a boulder about to come down and would no doubt crush anyone or anything in its path, so he had to get a move on.

Reaching through the Force, the Master centered his focus on the boulder and pushed with this mind. Slowly more rocks were falling, but what Connel was about to do would take a lot of power out of the natural disaster. Using his telekinetic skill Vanagor slammed the boulder with all his might into the ground, creating a small crater and giving a sort of “gully” that slowed and stopped much of the impending danger. Now it was a matter of trying to get through the rest of the road as fast as he could before it was too late.
