[TLM] "Ascension" [Silver Jedi]

20gmovs.jpg
Part II
Mission Name: "Ascension"
Mission Location: Silver Temple Grounds

The Council has begun the process of discovering the past, what they find has has taken them off guard. Having become lost for words and scrambling to uncover more secrets, they have become blind to the enemy in their own home. Things have been at work for a while now, and have recently decided to act on the will of something with a much greater web of influence. The unseen enemy is always the most fearsome.

"You never really know your friends from your enemies until the ice breaks..."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dark clouds full of moisture had descended upon the Silver Temple on Voss, the excavation project proved more than fruitful. The holocrons recovered provided information to a plot to revive Sel Makor in attempts to the destroy the Jedi and gain control of the planet. It would seem when the Jedi of the previous order learned of this, they proceeded to act, but the outcome of their actions were unknown. This plagued the order itself, When solutions were to be discussed, Multiple Jedi had been reported missing, their whereabouts unknown. Amongst the missing was Jedi Master Sochi Ru. It was as if she vanished. The clouds began to produce light, and soon rain would follow; but was that the only thing?

From the nightmare lands, emerged an unexpected force unforeseen. Now that the rain had descended their footsteps were muddy, and cool to the touch. They came in numbers, and held their arsenal of weapons with them. These were no primitive people, but those advanced just as we. It seemed the setting was of night, and the temple shown in all its glory regardless. Without warning blaster bolts were beginning, and smoke filled the air. Grunts, and screams could be heard as if on cue as the sky darkened slowly. The Gormaks, as if more furious, and mad as ever had come. These beings were filled with hatred, and it seemed magnified. Surely this crusade was orchestrated by a more intelligent force, and surely the Silver Jedi wouldn't allow such a campaign. The forces began to rally in order to defend their home, to put an end to the struggle before it begins.

Aika Kawakami

Can one find true light when shadowed in darkness?
Things had seemed calm. Well, calm enough, at least. Aika in the entrance to Temple facing outwards, her eyes closed, and mind centered on herself. Meditation, for the most part was what this was. Although, it also was simply her just relaxing. But, even in such a seemingly relaxed state, her mind wandered. Something just struck her as being out of place. The planet was usually always covered by warm colors. However, at the moment, those colors had been replaced by a deep, dense, unforgiving fog. It was unnatural, not to mention alarming.

She stretched out through the Force, her attempt at figuring out what was the cause of such a shift in the atmosphere. Just as she began, something caught her attention. Anger, hatred. Something was coming in their direction, and without a doubt, it was nothing friendly. The feeling it gave off resembled that of the Sith, yet this wasn't their presence. It was the same, yet different. As if on cue, her eyes opened just as the blasters began firing form within the distance. Just in time, Aika dove to the side, tucking her chin to her chest and rolling to ensure a safe landing. The roll put her out of harm's way for the moment, taking refuge behind the wall just to the entrance's left side. There she remained crouched as the bolts began to pour in, some ricocheting off the outside walls. Something, or someone, had come. The question was whether it was for something within the Temple, or the Jedi themselves..

Not Ordo

Just under the upper hand.
Big light green eyes peered out from under the small robes. His almost perpetual smile was gone and he had left the growing silver archives for the first time since arriving on Voss. Yinch pushed his small hood back feom his head and looked out at the advancing darkness.

"Advance no furth, the darkness will." He said as he began to decend the steps while drawing on the force.

There was a darkness around them, and Connor knew it wasn't the unnatural weather dropping down on them. Standing outside in the gardens taking time out with the peaceful water fountain, he had felt an increase of urgency alerting him to something, the feeling reverberated around his head with the Force, stirking him in waves.

Shaking his head, he turned and looked upwards, to the side, all around, trying to locate the source of what this was. He reached up to his temple and concentrated, mapping the Temple with the Force and locating anyone -

The first shockwave that hit him was from [member="Aika Kawakami"] - she was in danger. At the front of the Temple.

Aika, hold on!

Deciding not to head through the Temple, Connor didn't think as he darted right through the garden, following Aika's presence and hearing a resounding sound of blaster fire and commotion ahead of him. He jumped over a small hedge dotted with purple flowers and through a stone archway before coming out around the side of the Temple itself.

The sight of the dense fog and darkness struck him, it was horrifying to see and certainly the work of an unnatural force. Sticking close the wall, he ran forward to avoid the blaster fire coming from the heavy fog. Feeling Aika just ahead inside the entrance, Connor moved along the now decaying outer pillars riddled by blaster fire.

"Aika - it's Connor. Are you alright?"

There he also saw the figure of [member=Yinch], ready to take on the danger.

"Yinch, get out of the way you fool, you'll get yourself killed!"

Looking over his shoulder towards the darkness, Connor saw those behind the blaster fire emerging. Grmaks. Their red eyes, their shell-like skin and hulking frame. They were here to claim back something that the Order was now in the firing line for.

The Togruta lay there, her scarlet skin resting gently upon the stone altar, her eyes shut as dark circles lined underneath her lids. All was an incky darkness around her save for the woman in front of her. Rasu extended an arm, reaching out for the limp form of her dear friend, but was met by a barrier. The Shi'ido struggled against the invisible wall, pounding her fists against the mystical force holding her back, watching helplessly as the woman began to rise into the air, her face still emotionless. Rasu's desperation aided her, bringing more forceful blows upon the barrier. Tears began to flood her face, as Rasu felt the shield give way and she fell forward, bringing her hands in front if her to soften the fall. Looking up, she caught one last glimpse of Sochi, before she was enclosed within a gruesome hand, pigmented as dark as the environment around her. Breaking into a sprint, Rasu clambered up upon the fist, pulling and scratching the wrinkled skin that now held her friend. "SOCHI!" she screamed, as she was picked up by another hand, scrambling and fidgeting within its grasp. Rasu was able to cathc one last glimpse of the Togruta, before she was flung from the hand's grasp, her vision becoming cloudier as Sochi grew further away. "SOCHI!"

"Master Gan! The Gormak. They've assembled an army outside the Nightmare Lands, they're marching towards Voss-Ka!" Rasu woke with a start, a loud gasp escaping her as she realised where she was. Confused, Rasu turned to face the Padawan, who too wore a look of concern, having witnessed the Jedi Master in such a state.

"I'll be there in but a moment Padawan. Gather the other Jedi, rouse them from their quarters." she said, reassuring the man with but a wave of her wrist. "What are you waiting for? GO!" she said, dismissing the Jedi before rising herself, hurrying over to her trunk. Bringing out the necessary equipment, she placed her armored robe upon the mattress, making sure she had every individual piece before draping them over herself, fastening her two lightsabers to her belt as she walked out of her own quarters. Already the sound of confusion was erupting through the temple, as the sound of doors slamming and the bustling of running feet met the Shi'ido's ears. She too broke into a slight jog, picking up her pace as the temple entrance loomed into view, the bright blue crystal passing it's radiant calm over her before exiting into the harsh sunlight of the planet.

The sound of war drums met her ears, as Rasu soon caught sight of the massive gathering of Gormak in the distance, dragging their large mechanised weaponry in tow behind them. Making her way to the observation deck, she leaned over the railing, trying to make a estimate of their numbers, however their proved too many for her to count. The Shi'ido had no idea what or whom could have roused the barbaric species, but they were now at the Jedi's doorstep and it would be time to deal with them, in one way or another.

Ilanthria had been awakened. It was not from sleep, however. She had been unconscious for days, deep in meditation. A horrible vision had disrupted her centering. It was filled with pain. The temple fell to creatures made of pure darkness. One Jedi after another fell, men, women, and children... She rose from her place and quickly made her way down the corridor. Many Jedi were passing her. The Temple was alive at the lateness of the hour, preparing for battle. Ilanthria stopped two of these Jedi. "Come with me. We must make sure that the children are protected," She said to them, her voice soft and gentle but also firm and hastened. Together, they made their way to the children's quarters.

Hawk was covered in sweat when he woke. It wasn't the sounds of war that woke him. It was a vision of Gormak attacking the temple. He was about to com Master Rasu about his vision when the alarm sounded. It had begun.

He quickly dressed and grab his saber. What good was it to be a Seer if he couldn't see more than a few minutes before the event. Hopefully as he develops that power he will be able to see in the distant future.

Dalur

In time all foul things come forth
Dalur had only just arrived on Voss to find blaster shots firing at the temple. He had sought out these 'Silver Jedi'' because they were opposed to violence, yet here they were, being attacked. Maybe it wasn't their fault, but the whole ordeal gave Dalur a feeling of regret. If he was a darker man, he would have turned back and left the planet, but he couldn't leave them to fight, even if his skill was so limited that he would be of little help. It was a Jedi's duty to protect, and if he was to become a Jedi, he would have to start. It wasn't long before Dalur reached [member="Connor Harrison"] , [member="Yinch"] and [member="Aika Kawakami"] . With shots coming in fast, Dalur rushed to cover, finding refuge only a little further along the wall that Aika was covered by. His right hand fumbled for his lightsaber, yet he left it deactivated until the more experienced Jedi thought of something...

CHANI

Active Member
The day passed as the Kiffar's mind lingered on the troubling darkness Master Gan had nurtured her back to health from, that vision hurt her, directed a light on the danger of this planet and it's malevolent intent. A vision too unexplored, although her Master knew something was amiss, to grasp a moment so far ahead of every present moment was just out of her reach but this would not stop her curiosity. Chani loved the wilderness, all the life between creatures and flora, on Nar Shaddaa there wasn't any of this luxury, so naturally she found herself dancing amongst the familiar lake Assak and her visited, she floated in the water and stared at the mother beast who protected her nest afar.

She floated on her back and spouted water from her mouth like a fountain, this simplicity pleased her and for a moment she thought she had found peace. Then she took a blaster to the face! The bolt came from her left in the dense trees, it's distance slowed the impact but the damage tore half her cheek, eye, and skull ajar. the shock hit her immediately and numbed the pain, Chani held her face closed, the seared wound cauterized from the laser bolt, she side paddled to the opposite shore and tried to run, stumbled, fell and managed to rise again and sprint away.

She traversed quite a long distance, thinking over and over that she must warn someone, anyone! The pain held at bay by the sudden shock and adrenaline, the only thing holding half of it in place was her hand. The temple came into view now and she looked around, noticing a dense fog rolling in and right before this convenient cover, countless numbers of those disgusting creatures that shot her, retreating she finally reached one of the destroyed pillars Chani noticed a few figures on the stairs of the temple.

Her face was bloody, bits and pieces hanging here and there, and her hand pasted on one side, she didn't scream or cry or hurry anymore in any hasty fashion, instead she walked right up to [member="Connor Harrison"] and said,

"I think we are all in trouble Connor..." and as an after thought, "oh- and I think I'm hurt." her one eye glared at him, the other non existent between her slender fingers clutching her face and head together.

As [member=Dalur] came closer, the debris from the pillar was getting larger, and it wouldn't last them long, and Connor could only think of one thing to do buy them time.

"We need to buy ourselves time, and get rid of those creatures. I think we need to get inside and find the others. Help me move this pillar, the four of us should have no problem launching it over into those things."

Connor span around beside [member="Aika Kawakami"] and [member=Yinch] as he pointed towards the blaster fire from the fog, coming from the now visible Gormaks.

"Let's take it, and release it with as much power as you can towards them. Once it's down, get back into the temple and seal the door for what good it will do."

He was about to stretch outwards when the horrifying site of a wounded [member=CHANI] appeared beside him, as cool as anything, holding onto her gut-wrenching wound. Connor's blood went ice cold for a second, seeing her in this state was upsetting, and he was angry at them. He reached out and held her arms gently, looking at her wound and feeling helpless.

How dare they do this to one of his Sisters in the Order.

"Chani...! Damn, hold on, we'll fix this, don't worry...stay with us!"

Connor was fuelled by rage, and stretched out with the Force to take hold of the pillar, hoping the others could aid to launch it at those monsters so they could get inside to find the others and get Chani to aid, and fast.

Yinch swatted blaster bolts aside and called on the force.

"Inside Padawans!" He said his small body becoming a blur of movement, "Now you must go."

He reached for the pillar with the force and siezed it. His small stature meant nothing compared to his use of the force. With a heavy grunt front his strange little throat he tossed the pillar.

"Anger, for the weak it is." He told [member="Connor Harrison"], "inside you and [member="CHANI"] must go. Now!"

Yinch returned to batting bolts as he blocked the fire aimed toward chani.

After arriving in the transport along with the others, Ace and his group of ten soldiers had departed deep within the temple. They were just one of the exploration teams, working hard to uncover any secrets that lay hidden. Though, they would have a hard time spotting them, assuming the secrets were Jedi related. The loud bang of foot steps would be heard as people ran through the temple, all of them heading for the exit's general direction. After focussing, the distant blasts of laser bolts could be heard within the air. A static buzz would break the silence that had formed, everyone quickly snapping to attention. The transmission told of the assault that was taking place, no need for a lengthy description. They were needed. "Let's move out soldiers, come on!" He would yell, wavering his arm to the exit as he watched [member="Connor Harrison"] dart by with speed, towards the garden. Breaking into a full sprint, the squadron of ten would book it down the corridors of the temple, their blasters un-holstered and in their hands. Looking through the exit, Ace's eyes would widen as he examined the battefield, blaster bolts flying in all directions. "I got a bad feeling about this." Scorch would mutter through his helmet, the sentence being transmitted to all of the other members. "Cut the chatter, Scorch. We have a job, that's to lay down surpressing fire." Ace would command, as the group broke into a division of two, Ace leading one along with his friend, Scorch.

The troops would begin to rush down the temple stairs, their blasters raised into the air in order to unleash a barrage of bolts onto the enemies across the field, shooting at their cover and at anyone that happened to be in the open. Ducking down, a red energy bolt would shoot straight past Ace's head as he got into cover, his gun raised over just a bit to offer time for others that hadn't gotten into safety. Clicking down the trigger, the soldier's rifle would begin to spit a volley of bolts, the barrel moving from side to side in order to mow down as many hostiles as he could. The soldiers had arrived on the battlefield, hoping to assist the Jedi in whatever way they could. The surpressing fire would continue, five of the men emptying their energy cartridges while the other five shot at enemies who were vulnerable. They would do their best to hold back the line, defending the temple.

It had been a nice dream. Asaak was on Voss and Moroi had followed, making the choice to leave behind the Republic and join the Silver Jedi. It would be a good place for him she had always said. They sat there beneath the trees, her fingers running through his hair, him laughing at some story --- but it didn’t last.

Asaak snapped awake, a thrill of emotions hitting her like the blast of a grenade. It was [member="Rasu Gan"]’s alarmed feelings sirening across the Force that had her up and out of her bed in record time, pulling on her robes and dashing from her room to rush to her Master’s aid.

But it quickly became apparent that is not only her Master in danger but the entire Order, the Temple itself. Her fellow Jedi were running and yelling, organizing against…oh Force! She had found a window to look out and saw the Gormak horde barreling down on the Temple. [member="Ace Thrakish"] was leading his band in defense of the Temple and she sprinted from the window to rush down and help, making her way down to the main hall, finding [member="Yinch"], [member="Connor Harrison"] and [member="CHANI"] just outside on the grass. As Yinch threw the pillar at the oncoming horde, she moved to the mechanism that would shut the huge Temple doors once her friends could dash inside and buy them some time to group with the others and organize their offensive.

From there she could not see the wounds that the red-haired girl she’d come to call a strange sort of friend had gained, which was probably for the best.

Her eyes darted around for others that would need to rush in front the outside, spotting a Rodian taking cover behind a wall. She called to him, struggling to be heard over the sound of rising chaos. “I need your help with these doors!” she called, her eyes flicking between him and her friends outside.

I awoke from my sleep. I had just gotten back form a side mission on Yavin 4. it was rather nice there, laying in my bed. All covered in the blankets and with some rock music playing in the background. Only did I hear hundreds of feet stomping. This was no mass drill that was practiced by the Rangers. No, something else was happening. I began to get dressed in my Templar robes, as I had not found a suitable replacement yet, as I could hear blaster fire ring out. Instantly I grabbed the silver songsteel choker, and put it around my neck, I activated it as I put on my Templar shield, as well as grabbed a blaster rifle that was angled against the wall.

Walking out, I could already see from an awning that they were coming fast and hard. I took aim and fired the rifle into the group. Taking a few. it only took seconds to run out of ammo, And with practiced ease, I drew my two sabers. The yellow and white blades humming in the Shien stance, as i jumped.

I dove into the fray, directly in the middle of the battle, Swinging my sabers round and round. Slicing arms off, even a few heads. There was no time to be peaceful about this. Even my Jedi mind would tell me to kill them, or hurt them to stop the attack. I had made my way tot he front temple doors where they were still entering. And here is where I drew my line. Literally. There was a line of bodies at the front door made by myself as I was cutting them down with the White flame Lightsaber and the Sentinel Lightsaber.

I could hear rumbling behind me, but it did not phase me, as I lended trust in the strength of the Silver Jedi, to kill the ones inside, while I quenched the flow of those entering.

He awoke with a start, the repeated knocking on his quarter's door rousing him from a deep and satisfying slumber. Muttering a curse under his breath, the man lazily rose from the bed, his blanket still wrapped around his naked form before he cracked the door open a tad. "Yes?" he questioned the uniformed man who stood there, many other similarly dressed men scurrying by behind him. "Sir, the Temple is being assaulted. Orders are to defend it at all costs, secure the Archives, Library, and the youngling area." Before Lok could muster up enough saliva in his mouth to ask another question, he was running off again to knock on the door of the room next to his. "Feth."

The heavyset man was dressed in an instant, slipping on his black tunic and utility belt. No need for robes, they'd just get dirtied and tangled up if there was going to be fighting going on. As he laced up the signature black combat boots, he thumbed the wrist comlink he wore at all times. "Master Kaast, the temple's being assaulted. I'm about to come your way, get the younglings ready for relocation." The man spoke hurriedly, jumping up to snatch his lightsaber and hook it to his belt. "Understood, I heard something strange near the front gates, they've probably made contact already." Master Kaast paused. "We await your arrival." Lok was already out of his quarters, sprinting down the corridor past flushed-faced Padawans and their Temple guard counterparts who hurried towards the entrances and key areas, rifles in hand.

He was a Jedi Guardian, the Silver Sword. Guarding and preserving the Jedi way of life was his life's purpose and he would fulfill it until he exhaled his last breath. Nothing would stop him in the pursuit of such a goal. Nothing at all.

Connor took a breath; [member="Yinch"] was right, and he knew it. He had to control these emotions.

With the assistance provided by the diminutive Jedi and from a squad of soldier apparently fighting for the Jedi, Connor took [member="CHANI"] and [member="Aika Kawakami"] by the arm and hurried them towards the Temple door.

"[member="Dalur"], come on!"

Avoiding the stray bolts that thankfully had grown less due to the confusion and back-up, Connor and the others managed to reach the Temple doors.

Inside, Connor was surprised how much damage the blasters had inflicted inside their sanctuary; but there was more pressing matters, such as [member="Asaak Tey"] who was calling to Dalur for help.

"Go help Assak, Dalur, you are needed my friend."

Nodding to the Rodian, Connor moved Chani and Aika to one side by the spiral stairs, sitting Chani down.

"Are you ok Aika? Do you know who can help Chani...she's, a little injured."

Dalur

In time all foul things come forth
Dalur heard [member="Asaak Tey"] only just, but it was [member="Connor Harrison"] who caused him to break into a run towards the Togruta. Blaster bolts caused him to duck and weave slightly, almost being caught by one near his leg. However, he managed to get inside the temple and next to Asaak. He was keeping calm rather well, as he holstered his lightsaber back in his belt, as he wouldn't be needing to use it, yet...

"What is it you exactly need help with, Togruta?" He asked as his rather large eyes examined the door controls. Technology was never a strong point of Dalur's, even in its simplest forms. Despite this, he would help in any way he could to his best ability.

More and more of her fellow Jedi were leaping in to the fray - she noted [member="Xander Carrick"] inserting himself in to the battle and were she not in a rather dire situation she might have smiled at the sight - and she needed to help get the doors ready for others to come inside.

The Rodian came quickly and she nodded her thanks. "I'm Asaak," she offered quickly, pointing to the terminal that had been installed for the doors. The things were damnably big, which was no fault of the Silver Jedi. They had worked with the ruins the Voss had left behind and they had an eye for incredible architecture. "I will need you, once our fellow Jedi are inside, to lock down the doors and buy us time to plan against the Gormak." She pulled up the correct sequences, showing him all he'd need to do. "I'm going to close the doors from over there," she pointed again, to a spot a little farther off. "Once everyone is inside, I'm going to push both these doors closed using the Force, as quickly as I can, and once closed you'll just need to enter these sequences to lock them down," she said. Someone was in charge of locking and guarding the Temple every night, but didn't have to do it with the speed of defense against a rushing horde - one person could close the massive doors easily, but it took longer than they had in the face of the Gormak.

[member="Dalur"] could buy them precious time - by herself Asaak would have to slam the doors closed, and then either rush back to enter the sequences herself or hope someone would think of it which seemed unlikely in the face of the action outside. They would secure the Temple swiftly, for a time.

No more than five minutes had passed since the several padawans began to scramble up the large stair case to the temple entrance. Ace and his men had a job to do, and that was to protect the Jedi in everyway possible. The amount of blaster bolts that headed in their direction would be lessened do to the squad's intervention, their own efforts aiding in depleting the enemy's numbers. Explosions would sound off as grenades flew through the air, blowing several Gormaks into bloody pieces. Though, they were not the only one losing numbers on their side. Turning to glance up to the temple's entrance, Ace would notice that it had been locked down apparently. "I think this is it, guys." Scorch would say quietly, sounding rather nervous. Ace would click in over the helmet's receivers, the transmission being played to his group only. "Even if it is, we won't go down as cowards. A honorable warrior's death is what awaits me." He would speak, watching as two soldiers were gunned down. Their bodies would fall to the ground limpy, remaining there as the battle raged on.
Ace knew everyone in his squad. He could tell them apart by the patterns on their armor, which he had memorized. They were more than a team, they were a family. Vulcher and Conan went down, blaster marks engraved in their armor as their weapons fell to the ground. It was a sight that he could not avoid seeing, one that he wished he could prevent. This was a life and death situation though, Ace had attempted to prepare himself mentally for this. Turning his head and ceasing his pistol fire, Scorch would watch the two die, screaming in anger, "NO!"
"There's no time, hurry up and grab one of their rifles!" He would yell over the commotion, giving his attention back to the battle at hand. Multiple bolts of energy would crackle from the soldier's barrel as he guided it over the landscape, it's iron-sights falling upon any enemy that was close enough to pose a threat. The sniper of the group, Picker, had set himself up off to the side, hidden amongst some rubble in order to gain an advantage over the angry creatures. Their assault was savagely brutal, slowly making it's way closer and closer to the temple's entrance. How long would the group be able to hold off the hordes?

VOSS TEMPLE ENTRANCE
OBJECTIVE: LIMIT THE FLOW OF SOLDIERS ENTERING.

Even over the fray of the battle I could see an old friend, well not really old friend, more like a regular friend, that was trying to get peopled rallied. people were still getting in, When a Jedi Padawan of an unknown name joined me in the fight. He held a blue lightsaber in his hands and stood next to me allowing some slack on my part. He was well trained with using the Shi-Cho form. Swinging here and there, the trio of blades that we both held hummed in the air.

Speaking through the com device that was there, I almost yelled out at them. "Close the doors on us if you have to! We can take them!" As the Padawan was now taking on many at once, I smiled. Calling to K1-LLR through the device. "Get yourself and the hounds out here, Set them just behind the doors with you. Take out any that try to pass me." I could hear a yes from the other side followed by a definate roar of two mechanical beasts. I could hear the hiss of flames as two red and silver beasts fell in front of me, Clearing a small path, to where they went into the main hall, and pounced on anything that moved, and was not a Jedi or Ranger.

They spewed fire from their maws, and clawed and bit anything they could to keep the horde that came crashing down on us, away from anyone. K1-LLR landed down smashing onto one of the Soldiers, with a blue lightsaber protruding from his back. She turned around to face the Torguta [member="Asaak Tey"] and spoke, "I can help with the closing of the doors, Tell me where to go." The proxy droid had been my companion for as long as I could remember, and with training in the Lightsaber arts, she definitely could help to this battle.

All the while, I fought along side the Jedi Padawan in staunching the flow of soldiers from entering the area. At first I had counted how many I was killing or maiming. But I lost count around 27 and from there I gave up in that endeavor. I focused on using my abilities in Lightsaber combat and unarmed combat. Once I saw blaster fire being returned, we finally had some relieve from the battle.
