TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
STANDARD FEATURES
The TXS TIE/pr features sensors, computers, and other technology comparable to other advanced Starfighters and can be regularly updated with new software and replacement units to keep it in line with evolving technological standards. In addition it includes a standard suite of New Imperial systems found on most TIE variants such as:

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Agility: The Predator has nearly unmatched agility in space, compounded with its Event Horizon drives and C-31a Inertial compensator. Many pilots also install a Clutch style throttle allowing it to stop forward momentum in space.
  • Passive Stealth: Energy Dampeners, Static Dampeners, and Emission dampeners allow the XTS TIE/pr model to fly under stealth conditions and hide from most sensors at long range. In order to do this it cannot use its power converters, fire weaponry, or have active shields.
  • Variable Combat Settings: The TIE/pr has variable settings for its standard wing settings and how its power is regulated through its combat systems. A pilot is able to adjust the mode during combat, however it does take a moment for the ship to react to sudden alterations to these settings.
    • Attack Mode: With the fighter set to attack mode the Predator’s maneuvering capabilities are second to none in space allowing it to zip around the battlefield and make the most of its advanced engines and thrusters.
    • Defense Mode: When put into defense mode, the fighter regulates its shields more efficiently and recycles them quicker, allowing it to take more punishment during battle.
    • Travel Mode: With the wings folded back parallel to one another, the TIE/pr’s engines are able boosted, allowing it to move and accelerate faster.
WEAKNESSES
  • Atmospheric Handling: Its wings positioning interferes with maneuvering under atmospheric resistance, decreasing its ability to make sharp turns, dive, or rise with its normal excellence. The greater the air density, the more exacerbated the issue becomes for the Predator.
  • Lack of Ordnance: The Predator focuses its offensive capabilities on its cannons solely, with no missiles, torpedoes or bombs, reducing its effectiveness against capital ships.
  • Limited Stealth: New TIE’s possess minor stealth capabilities, but come with the cost of powering down weapons and shields, and are unable to fly flat out in order to evade enemy sensors at longer ranges. The systems are ineffective at normal ranges and in active combat.
DESCRIPTION
Built as part of the update TIE series by Technoid Manufactorum, the TIE/pr Predator is a long range interceptor designed for small-scale production primarily for patrol, reconnaissance, and pursuit. The Predator bears a sleek frame and adjustable wings, able to be set and reset with relative ease in order to maximize thrust and shield coverage during flight. It’s design focused on unmatched maneuverability and speed within the TIE series to contrast its less versatile offensive capabilities.

The Predator hunts other starfighters, bombers, and support craft, using its superior acceleration and handling to outmaneuver their weapons and batter a target down with bursts of laser cannon fire. The solar panel ‘blade-wings’ house the ship’s hyperdrive and shield arrays which are able to adjust to a variety of positions to aid shield coverage, maneuverability, or allow them to be stored away on starfighter racks. However the technology housed within the wings makes the pursuit craft difficult to maintain, minor damage requiring a skilled technician to repair between most engagements, often described as a headache by most flight crews.

It takes a skilled pilot to take advantage of its ability to maneuverability, with subsystems like the C-31a inertial compensator, event horizon engines, and clutch controls that allow it to more easily snap turn, stop forward momentum, drift, and roll off its axis which limits its use to more experienced veterans or Force Users who prefer its increased mobility to the TIE/vx Vanguard’s more potent armament.
