The Sith was fast. He evaded Kai’s thrust, and as the doppelganger tried to follow him, he arrested his blade with the Force, holding it in place.

Kai tried to resist, but the Sith’s grip was firm. Even when he felt the pressure loosening a little, he couldn’t push through—

And now he was in Kai’s head, rummaging around as if his thoughts and memories were cabinets and drawers. Panicking, the doppelganger’s first instinct was not to squirm away, but to bite down on the worming tendril extending from Solipsis’ mind.

Kai’s mouth flooded with scrambled bits of Solipsis’ mind like blood from a vampire’s kiss—and even that brief taste was too bitter to bear. He spat it out as if he’d been spoonfed bilgewater. But the cost of that moment of weakness couldn’t be denied. He had something of Solipsis in him now, and Solipsis would know the truth of what he was—

But instead of capitalizing on the boy's Dark secret, Kai was tossed aside like so much worthless trash. Someone else had caught the Sith’s attention, someone that Solipsis valued a whole lot more than a random Sithspawn trying too hard to be a Jedi.

Solipsis was so distracted, perhaps he wouldn’t be able to react in time to prevent an enraged Kai from slitting his throat with a two-handed slash of his lightsaber.

His plan has been set into motion. A mixture of relief and concern crossed the solemn features on his face. Relief that his choice to yank Zaka from sacrificing his life to potentially end Solipsis was right, but even then doubt and uncertainty still lingered like a haze. And concern - that the Jedi were late, again. That they had not been able to stomp the seed out before it had sprouted. That far more blood would still be spilled. That the light at the end of the tunnel seemed to dwindle even more than before.

"Don't you think it's weird... if Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis wants to take over this world... that he only eliminated us?"

The Knight raises an eyebrow, "What do you mean?" his mind still lagging behind on her earlier remark - sensing her father beneath Solipsis' corruption. It was a dangerous notion. Dag knew his own father had been beyond redemption and the Sith'ari felt far beyond that even. Not a human no more, but simply a manifestation of the Dark Side.

He didn't rebuff her, which was all the girl needed to suck in courage and press on.

"Think about it. His goal is to tear down, to rebuild. When dealing with the stability of a society, two pillars hold it together-- the government, and the guard," Jem quoted, her lessons still fresh in her mind.

"Why didn't my father call the senate to session? He had the power-- he had the chance. If he wanted to take control of Coruscant, all he had to do close the senate doors, and pull the trigger."

"He didn't,"
she whispered, imploring Dagon to see it.

Her insinuation was starting to grow, becoming less tactful as she explained. It was so obvious to her, she didn't understand why the rest of the adults didn't see it. Maybe it was just too impossible them-- their brains couldn't picture the unfathomable. Maybe they just still had too much faith. Her faith was lost under the lockdown.

"He only removed our chancellor. She's dying, most of us are dead, and that banker from the sith worlds is now the alliance's head. People aren't asking enough whys, Master."

"He's playing us all."

"Daughter."

Jem blanched, her skin flashing silver as she looked towards the Temple's ruins.

"He'sstillhere."

Traden brought down his saber with great force, which was met quickly with the Sith's own blade, keeping the imminent kill strike from occurring. Traden's gaze was locked on his opponent, looking deep into his soul, when suddenly a blaster bolt went wizzing by just inches from the Jedi's head. Traden froze, his eyes widened in shock as he slowly looked back to see the Farghul with his blaster aimed at the pair. He gave him a death glare,

"Are you aiming at me or him?!" He questioned loudly as he flinched from the next shot of the Farghul, which luckily hit the Sith's Shoulder, not Tradens.

As the Sith flinched from the wound, Traden lifted up his leg and kicked him with great force, sending the Sith flying backwards and onto his back in the dusty street. He then turned back to the Farghul, presenting him with an intense yet rather bored looking expression,

"Well look at that! You hit him, mate!" He said with sarcastic praise. As the Sith began to pick himself up off the ground, Traden, without looking, quickly brought up his blaster and released a deadly spray, peppering the Sith as he tried to pull his saber up in time, yet failing, and instead falling to the ground dead.

Traden Followed the Farghul's eyes to see what looked like elite commando units crossing some ways down the street from them. Traden processed the idea of engaging the new enemy, but upon seeing that they appeared more intent on retreat than engagement, he instead opted for cracking his neck, walking over to the unopened bottle of alcohol he had previously discovered in the speeder, opening it, sitting down with his back up against the wall, and taking a very, very long swig from the bottle.

He found himself more dull these days... unmotivated, as it where. He had found his objective... Jax Thio Jax Thio the one-eyed wonder... and was content to throw him on the back of his speeder and mosey up on out of this joint... and the sooner the better... as far as he was concerned.

But perhaps being intoxicated would be his preferred state of mind.

"Ready to get out of here whenever you are, mate." He said to Jax Thio Jax Thio with a sigh as he took another swig from the bottle, attempting to drown the memory of his late wife into oblivion.

Gorthalon's Greataxe, an IB-series blaster pistol, cortosis forearm guards, a single radiation grenade.
TLDR: Gorth, Elpsis, Kalie (Tiresh) and Shikoba arrive at the Sea of Sand. Gorth sees a half-submerged vessel in the distance and recommends approaching it in hopes that the escapees might also be there.

The storm is about an hour away, but fast approaching. The great Yuzzem and the three others in the speeder, namely Tiresh Kobitana, the Senator of Lujo, Lieutenant Elpsis Kerrigan, the Fire Lady, and purportedly a member of Elpsis' close-knit group of peculiar operatives, were making good progress. The brute glanced at the lithe newcomer sitting next to the Lady of Fire, but had no time for idle chat. The air of Ponemah ripped into the Yuzzem's fur as he guided the vehicle up and down steep hills of sand. The speeder's velocity thrusters glowed and heat rippled from their centers as a result of all possible systems being set on maximum power output. However idealistic Gorthalon may be, he was also an elite soldier, and he was certain about one thing. As with most rescue operations, the number one objective was to safely remove the targets from harm; however, the number one priority was their own safety. Thus, they needed to move quickly – not just because of the threat of sand worms in the area, but also because of the oncoming storm. Who would want to get stranded here, where they are completely by themselves?

- We're here. – The high-pitched noise of the overworked engine's servos gradually dampened into a deep, idle rumble as they slowed to a halt at the edge of the plateau, right on the border of the infamous Sea of Sand. The peacekeeper that briefed them did not exaggerate; what they saw was every bit as terrifying as described. As far as the eye could see, there were extreme hazards. Although there were seemingly safe pockets of land scattered throughout the vista, other zones had robust geysers spewing lava high into the air, or had tall dunes collapse on them violently. With one hand still on the wheel, the Yuzzem sighed with a heavy heart, his keen sight surgically scouring the alien landscape.

And just like that, he saw something. A glimmer of what the escapees' group could be. He stood up for better visibility, and immediately reported to the others, his voice raised.
– There. About a ten-minute-ride from here. – He pointed over yonder. – I'm bad with ship designs so I can't identify it, but I can see a medium-sized shuttle partially submerged in the ground. – He closes his eyes for a moment, shakes his head, hot sand flowing from his mane. He opens his eyes. – A shifting dune obscures it most of the time, but I definitely caught glimpses of it. – He pauses. – And I think I saw speeders too. I'm not sure. – He now turns towards the others, meeting the gazes of each of his compatriots one by one. – This will have to be fast. Regardless of how much I want to save them, we need to face the reality of the situation; the storm hits in about an hour. If we can't get them back here in the next thirty to forty minutes, we need to escape the storm ourselves. If we manage to extract them here, to the plateau, we may be able to call in a shuttle. – At this point Gorthalon looks at Elpsis. – If you can reach your teammate at the landing bay, we have a better chance. If they could bring a shuttle to meet us halfway, out of reach of the ion storms… that would be the best course of action. If not, we have to race against time with what we have. He looks at the ominous sandstorm. Okay, I'm leaving in two minutes, do your preparations.

The Yuzzem steps out of the speeder but leaves it in a stationary, hovering mode, with the engine running. He takes a few steps towards the edge of the plateau, and scours the land further. The approaching desert storm blocks out the sun, shrouding the environment in a bleak grey hue. Cracks of lightning illuminate the terrifying, rolling clouds in the distance. Lava geysers coat their surroundings in a dim orange light. The hour of action is but minutes away.

Aerarii Tithe Aerarii Tithe as the true plant of the Sith'ari's machinations? The thought sent shivers down his spine. But then... after Fossk's deadly revelation - how would the Sith Lord expect the Chancellor to do his anti-Jedi biddings in the Senate? Not after Coruscant, couldn't be possible, right? Then again, Dag trusted the Senate as far as he could throw them with no hands.

There's a lot to dissect, a lot to think through but whatever millions of questions sprung in his already tired mind quickly turned blank when Jem's skin color shifted silver.

"Wh--"

"He'sstillhere."

His guts twisted inside to the point he almost puked, cold sweat suddenly running down his back. An ice-cold shower. Eyes widened and instincts kicked in, "Go!" he perched up from the crates he'd been sitting on and limped away, shoving her to move ahead of him, "We're leaving, Jem! Now!" Dag's not keen on testing the legitimacy of her senses. Instead, they will retreat as he sends a warning signal to whatever Alliance channels he still had access to.

"Elpsis Kerrigan," Elpsis responded laconically when the senator asked her name. Technically Elpsis Kerrigan-Alcori, but that was too much of a mouthful for her. Adoptive daughter of Siobhan Kerrigan. The drive across the dunes continued until they reached a truly uninviting area. Geysers spewed lava into the air, tall dunes violently collapsed. There were but a few pockets of safe ground, and even that was fleeting. Lightning clashed from the cloudy sky, and a sandstorm loomed overhead. Elpsis gave the Yuzzem a curt nod. He seemed a bit overly noble, but seemed to have his stuff figured out.

"You sense anything, Shikoba?" Elpsis asked the Vashyada druidess.
"The dark presence is close. It beckons."
"Then let's waste no time. You all, stay close. We can shield you if you're close by." Following in the wake of Gorthalon, Elpsis disembarked from the hoverng speeder and walked towards the edge of the plateau, cautiously approaching the half-submerged vessel.

More cracks of lightning appeared on the horizon. And then a geyser erupted, spewing lava towards them. Elpsis could feel the heat rising as the lava flow came closer and closer. Lava was not good for anyone, even a pyromancer. Strain was written across her face as she focused her power upon the scarlet river, attempting to drain the heat away ere it could reach them.

"Mother Earth is wounded!" Shikoba stated, reaching out towards the soil through the Force. Feeling the 'wound' of the geyser, she sunk into the Force, harnessing the power of the spirits in order to try and draw the sides and sand from around it to fill the hole like a wound before it could spill out all the lava and flood them.

Tiresh observed from the conversation between Elpsis Kerrigan Elpsis Kerrigan and her companion that they had an alternative motivation for their presence in the dunes. This caused her to bring her blaster rifle closer to her chest, her senses alert and ready for whatever might happen next. Hopefully they would all get what they were after without there being any unwanted clash between them. Because let's face it... that would likely go poorly for the Senator. She intentionally showed no interest in their conversation as she followed the group to the speeder, her eyes darting across the landscape in search of evidence of any life nearby.

Unknown to the odd collection of individuals, they had become the target of a predator a few minutes back. It had sensed the speeder running at high speeds across the surface, and it had chosen to follow... unable to catch up to its prey as it shifted through the sands below the surface, slowly loosing them, until finally... they had stopped.

The monstrous sand worm caused vibrations and a dull rumble to occur as it shifted through the sands, approaching quickly in the direction of the recently stopped speeder. The surface would be visibly disturbed in the places it moved through underneath, allowing for one to track its movement and direction. Its progress was slower than a speeder, but quicker than one could run away from on foot.

Tiresh pulled closer to the firebrand as the lava erupted from the depths of the sand in a violent display. She was focused in the deadly flow, as well as the Firebrands attempts at controlling and subverting its desired path. Suddenly, she thought she saw something... She squinted her eyes and peered into the distance... It looked like... yes... it was someone waving their hands in the air towards them! They were rather far from them and barely visible through the airborne sand, but she was able to just make out what looked like a partially buried container with multiple silhouettes of what she assumed to be the youngsters standing on top of it. They were all waving their arms in the air frantically at them...

It almost seemed as if they were trying to warn them of something. Could it be the lava? That would be odd... obviously they were aware of it. "Look!" She exclaimed, pointing from behind the Firebrand towards the ones who could now be seen in the distance. Then, in the midst of the flowing lava and howling wind, Tiresh could almost make out a muffled yell that drifted on the wind towards them from the youngsters. "I think their... saying something..." She strained with all her might to focus and listen to the sound, trying to make out their words of warning.

It seemed to be a one syllable word that they kept shouting over and over again...

was it...

worm?

The group would suddenly notice the ground vibrating in a more pronounced and ever growing manner, with a very deep rumble beginning to be heard that grows in intensity. As the group would look back towards their speeder behind them, they would see the sands beginning to shift and flow violently until eventually a massive explosion of sand consumed the sky, the speeder being completely dwarfed and engulfed inside an absolutely terrifying Sandworm. The Youngsters would be beckoning the group to quickly make their way to the massive semi-buried container that they had found refuge on from the beast.

Welcome... to the Sea of Sand.

TLDR: Gorthalon attempts to throw a radiation grenade straight down the Sandworm's oral cavity.

Upon first beholding the nightmarish hellscape that is Ponemah's Sea of Sand, the bestial Pathfinder knew that the skills of each person present shall truly be put to the test. But before he became a special forces operative, before he was a soldier of the Galactic Alliance, he was a survivor.

In these moments, Gorthalon felt no emotions. Cold determination took over his entire being.

Lava spewed forth from the earth. The spectacular magicks of Lieutenant Elpsis and her companion with the poetic tongue would otherwise baffle the Yuzzem warrior to his core, but his mind was now governed by a clear goal; a fast evacuation of the refugees. Again, seemingly at the same time, Tiresh yelled over the noise of the geysers and the storm.
"Look!" She yelled, and the Yuzzem snapped his head in the direction she was pointing, the subtle fierceness of his movements betraying his predatory nature. He noticed the waving silhouettes, yet before they could all regroup and push on, the worst scenario presented itself.

A terrifying, gargantuan Sandworm erupted from the ground right where they have left the speeder, the reality of which carried with itself one certainty; they were boxed in. There was no escaping danger. They could not go back. They could not go around. They had to go through; deeper into the maw of hell.

They could only hope that their speeder somehow endures this for the trip back.

Hills of sand were relocated as the horrifying monster emerged from beneath the dark dunes, a terrible, awesome, teethed abomination shrieking deafeningly, primal anger amplifying its guttural bellows. At this point, no real plan could be discussed, and time was running out, fast.

The Yuzzem took his blaster, slammed an energy cell into it, and yelled at Tiresh standing by his side, trying to overpower the cacophony of the moment.
– Senator! You will have to guide them back here while we attempt to draw its attention! There is no time! Bring speeders if you can! – And with that, the Yuzzem grunted and huffed, and turned to his mystical allies, at this point roaring at them with flashing fangs, hoping that they still have a couple of tricks up their sleeves. The time for locating artifacts was gone in an instant; now they could only hope the refugees have already found whatever object the two of them are looking for. – Draw its attention, make it painful! Trust me! – And with that, already in motion, he shot a couple of times at the monster that had already began its sluggish approach towards them. While running, the soldier quickly holstered his weapon, then dropped to all fours and charged straight at the terrifying monster at ramming speed. Just like in the gladiatorial arena, he pushed all thoughts aside concerning chances for survival. No time for second-guessing. In a dire situation like this, he had to trust his prior experience and his instincts.

His movements deliberately jarring in hopes that The Worm loses track of him, he first jumps left, beneath a rumbling geyser; a Yuzzem can easily leap 10-15 meters
(40-50 feet) horizontally. Then, to the right, sliding flat in the pale shade of a shifting dune. Waves of crashing sands follow his repeated leaps as he closes in on the gigantic monster. As soon as he gets within leaping distance, he finds himself charging straight towards the tall spine of a rigid dune, ready to cross the path of the approaching sand terror. Hoping that Elpsis and her mystic friend had angered The Worm enough that it roars with fury, the muscular Yuzzem launches himself from the top of the sand hill, attempting to cut off the monster's vector of approach.

If Elpsis had managed to cause enough pain to the creature that its mouth is agape and shrieking, Gorthalon, with spectacular moves, mid-flight, spins lightning-fast along his own axis, and with full force, lobs an armed radiation grenade straight down its echoing throat.

Likely not a lethal attack – however that wasn't the Yuzzem's intention. The aim was to daze it; to make it flee. Either way, he lands firmly on all fours on the ground and using his momentum, continues running away from the Great Worm.

To his surprise a Jedi came before him with her blade ready to defend herself if needed to be. A lucky survivor as it made sense for her to use her abilities and create layers of protection against the explosion that occurred. Chances are other Jedi survived, yet their odds were slim. A regular person like him had no chance of survival.

Now his chances of survival were at stake against the Jedi. He would not identify himself or give this Jedi any information. Personal and professional reasons. He’d have this showdown all to himself as his fellow Xesh operative cloaked herself with only two words uttered to him. He deserved it, but she wasn’t off the hook.

“Dammit, Mai!”

Cursing her name was all Boluc could do.

But now to pressing matters, his hand drew the pistol at his waist and aimed it at Valery. Without hesitation particle beam bolts fired at the Jedi, every intention to kill his target. He considered to have a slight upper hand with the distance between them and the power of his pistol that could penetrate a Jedi’s defense from the explosiveness of a particle beam.

He who dares wins.

((Elpsis isn't actually fixated on obtaining the dark artefact in the desert, she mainly doesn't want the kiddos or anyone else to get it and take it from the desert cuz that would be bad)).

Using magicks to keep lava from cooking you was quite tiring. Elpsis' breathing had intensified and sweat dripped down her face. Then suddenly the ground shook, and a gargantuan sandworm burst out. Naturally it did so in the exact location of their speeder.

The Yuzzem yelled shouted things, then fired his blaster at the massive wurm and raced towards it. "What the hell he's doing?" Elpsis got no response to that. She looked to her companion. "Shikoba, try to slow it!"

And then fire burst forth from her in a wave of incandescent heat. She had absorbed the heat of the lava flowing to them. That had to go somewhere, lest she burst. Meanwhile, Shikoba was chanting in her native tongue, even as she sweated profusely from the abominable heat. She beseeched the spirits, and the earth seemed to shift to constrict around where the worm had emerged. It would not hold it for long, but it could annoy it and slow it briefly.

Tiresh paused for a moment, watching as Gorthalon Gorthalon began his approach towards the Sandworm, in awe of his resolve and heroism. Then she quickly snapped back into action and responded to his direction, beginning to sprint towards the youth in front of them. She ran with all her might through the difficult sand until she was finally within earshot of them,

“Come with us! Come quickly!” She called out as she continued towards them, however they seemed hesitant to journey back onto the sand, apparently due to justified fear of the monstrous predator, which was an understandable response unfortunately. As she drew closer, she saw him…

The Pathfinder… the traitor… standing there amongst the refugees.

He would not recognize her as she was currently personifying Tiresh, which made her completely unrecognizable to Kalie Alverez, the agent who was his handler. So she pressed forward until she finally made it to the group, thinking of how she would dispose of him quietly without drawing any attention to the act.

“We need to go!” She exclaimed as one of the refugees reached out their hand and helped her onto the container. As she was pulled up, she recognized the container as one of their buried assets. It was likely filled with a fortune in resources and untraceable credits.

“Go where?!” One of them replied, “that thing just devoured your speeder! We would go to our deaths!” She looked around, realizing that they had nothing. Her heart sank. Things looked very grim.

“All we have are those two speed bikes back behind you! The Sandworm disabled our main speeder… were doomed!” Tiresh looked back behind as she witnessed Gorthalon Gorthalon throw a grenade into the mouth of the beast while Elpsis Kerrigan Elpsis Kerrigan slowed the worm, causing it to scream out in frustration.

She looked over at the Pathfinder, who seemed less concerned than the others. She concluded that he must have someone on the way to help retrieve the goods of the container. Otherwise this was a very ill-conceived plan on his part.

Luckily she was right.

Suddenly the whole group looked up into the sky in response to a low rumble which could be heard approaching. They witnessed a YT-2400 light freighter emerge directly above them from the windstorm, approaching quickly. While everyone was stunned by the appearance of the light freighter, Tiresh swiftly stepped over behind the Pathfinder. As he looked up, momentarily distracted by what he thought would be his salvation, Tiresh reached up and covered his mouth with one hand while she swiftly inserted a knife into the mans back, puncturing his lungs as she stabbed him repeatedly until he began to collapse in her arms. As he fell, she shifted her weight, allowing the corpse of the traitor to tumble off the edge of the container, unnoticed by the others due to the loud roar of the engines of the freighter as it lowered it’s cargo bay door and drew closer to the group, gently touching the container with the lowered door.

There were four armed smugglers on the ramp, who were looking throughout the group, trying to determine who their contact was, not wanting to kill him along with the others by mistake.

“Greyton?!” One of them yelled out with a gruff voice, his eyes furrowed.

“Right here!” Tiresh called out as the man locked eyes with the Senator.

“Uhhh… what?” He said with a puzzled expression as he looked the woman over, “Wait… You’re not…”

Tiresh immediately raised her blaster and opened fire on the smugglers with efficiency, quickly downing all four of them before they had a chance to respond to her attack. The Refugees screamed in fear at the display, completely confused as to what was happening. Tiresh jumped onto the cargo bay ramp and turned, beckoning them to quickly board with her hand.

“Quickly!!”

As the Refugees began to board the freighter, Tiresh made her way towards the cockpit, downing another smuggler in the hallway before making it to the pilot.

She walked up behind the pilot, placing her cold blaster barrel against the back of his head,

“Ahh!! What??” The man exclaimed right before Tiresh pulled the trigger, releasing a bolt through the mans brain and instantly killing him. She grabbed his shoulder and pulled the lifeless body off the seat, sitting down herself and quickly grabbing the controls.

“Is everyone aboard?!” She called back. As soon as she heard a confirmation that all of the refugees had safely boarded, she pulled the freighter up and away from the container. It was very difficult to control the ship in the midst of the intensifying storm, but Tiresh did her best to approach Gorthalon Gorthalon and Elpsis Kerrigan Elpsis Kerrigan , her hands gripping the controls tightly. Kalie was a decent pilot because of her training as a SIA Agent, and so she was able to effectively pilot the craft towards them.

She would keep the ramp lowered and attempt to keep enough distance from the Sandworm so as to keep the freighter out of its reach.

Claws of sand and soil clasped around the primordial creature as one of the mystic witches cast her spells, while the other projected the previously absorbed heat at the gargantuan sand terror. The storm was dangerously close by now.

The explosion of the grenade was muffled by the layers of flesh, but it was a successful throw. The cruel weapon
releases a cloud of radiation in a three-meter radius; no doubt painful even for a magnificent beast such as the Great Worm, not even considering its lasting effects.

Just before it could catch up to the Yuzzem running away on all fours, it recoiled as a result of the grenade and set forth an ear-splitting shriek. Even the earth shook as its body writhed, twisting, swirling, utterly confused by the sudden pain in its gigantic throat canal. It began a backwards movement, dragging immense magnitudes of sand and earth with it.

To Gorthalon's right, a geyser erupted, briefly revealing what was happening in the distance. Unbeknownst to him, a ship was somehow already moving towards him and the two mystic ladies, its ramp beckoning them for boarding. Its internal lamps shone as a light at the end of the tunnel; its brilliance even more captivating since the ground beneath the Yuzzem's feet and hands began to move, flowing ever faster towards the hole that the retreating Great Worm left as it slinked back underground.

His feet digging deep into the shifting sands; his movements became more and more desperate, more labored, and his speed ever diminished. Even a small island could be swallowed by the abyss the Worm left behind, and the sand kept trickling down a steep whirlpool of sand. Seconds felt like hours, even more so since the ship was now hovering above him, waiting for him to jump up and be rescued from this nightmare of a land.

Finally, he overtook the rate at which the land under him gave way, and with all the power he had left, he jumped, barely catching the edge of the extended ramp. He dangled, the furious winds bellowing all around him, the bass of the ship's engine vibrating above him.

Gorthalon drags himself up and his first thought is to look for his companions; the elf, the Fire Lieutenant and the Senator. After all they went through, he grew to like each very fondly, and once he pieced together what transpired with Tiresh, he let out a sigh of relief and urged them to leave the area as soon as they could, lest an ion tempest disables the ship before they could escape.

After asking them to identify themselves, Valery looked between the two during the brief pause that followed. Their silence wasn't a good sign and with Maijan disappearing into the white currents a few seconds later, she knew something was wrong here. Her orange eyes turned to the man who remained and narrowed, as he called out after the disappearing woman.
She could feel his intentions echoing through the Force, and so the moment his hand went for his pistol, Valery tightened the grip on her lightsaber and angled it to deflect what she believed would be an incoming blaster bolt. But as the particle beam struck the blade, it instead exploded, causing the already badly injured woman to stumble backward and drop the lightsaber.
While the explosion had likely burnt her more, she was still rather keen on survival and used every bit of strength she had left to muster a protective barrier, projected outwards with her other hand. She knew it wasn't going to last long, but all she needed was to regain her balance for just a moment. One moment to get out of this.
Several more shots struck in quick succession and exploded against the Barrier, but Valery was still standing and opted for a way to escape, rather than fight to the last person standing. She was in no condition to fight. So as the Barrier faltered, she reached out to a large piece of debris from the blown-up Blacksite and hurled it with incredible speed towards Boluc Laar.
If it were to hit, it was likely going to kill or gravely injure him, so she hoped it would force him into evading it. The woman then pulled the lightsaber back into her hand, and began to sprint into the fire and smoke of the burning Blacksite, attempting to use it as concealment from the attacker. With some assistance from the Force, she would be rather fast, so she hoped he wasn't going to pursue her.
But if he was, she'd draw him into a trap.

A wide grin was on his face when the Jedi stumbled backwards from his ranged attack. Took her by surprise he imagined as she did nothing to retaliate back against him. All she could do was defend against his barrage. At some point she would be exhausted from his onslaught and would die from his attacks.

Or so he thought.

While Boluc was dominate in the fight that all changed with a simple flick of the wrist as as large piece of debris was thrown at him.

“Shi-“

Trapped by the debris and impaled as metal pierced through the compromised armored plates, and stabbed him through his stomach. Knocked to the ground with a piece of the debris lodged in him, thick blood started coming out. Shocked and still, not wanting to move much with his body. He grabbed a pile of sand between his hand, squeezing it to find some sort of relief.

“M-m-Mai.”

Copper came to his tongue and coughed out the blood from his mouth. Ironic, the woman whose life was at stake at his hands became his only chance of survival…should she want to give him aid.

The unmistakable sound of the particle beam erupted, and the skitter of rocks, a grunt. That idiot. It was like the library in the Yashaka mountains all over again. Boluc, that idiot, had fired on another Jedi. She didn't need to turn around to see it, to know it. The Force quivered and quaked with intentions and reactions, emotions flaring.

Just by hearing it, she could count through the cartridges he was going through. One, two, three, four. Half left.

Like an illusion, the Jedi's protective barricade concealed her from being destroyed by the erratic use of plasma. It was a crude use of The Force, inelegant, but efficient. It was enough to preserve her, apparently, enough to give her the chance to manipulate The Force in another way.

A way that proved her well-wishes for good luck to the Xesh handler wasn't revered.

Whatever was left of the ceiling groaned and creaked, agonizing in metallic screeches before it tore from the panelling and down, down, down against Boluc.

At first, Maijan cackled. Loudly. Loud enough for the sound of her voice to be a dead giveaway of where her invisible body was, meters away. Though she remained unseen, she was certainly heard.

It was hilarious. The audacity of the handler to fire on a Jedi and once again underestimate The Force.

“M-m-Mai.”

Somehow, between the cheek-tightening humour, the desperate whisper of the agent slipped through the airwaves.

Immediately she stopped finding anything funny.

Her brows furrowed, and with a hiss glanced at her hands. Powerful hands that were incredibly strong.

Powerful hands that had once been free.

But how free could she be with a little bomb ticking away in her neck?

Maybe if she freed this termite, her contract might finally end. She might finally be able to return back to The Undoubtables.

Whatever amount of time it took for her to reconcile, she knew an enemy of the SIA was worse than a frenemy as it currently stood. Without a word, the distance between here and there was passed swiftly and she crouched, with an incredible grunt, and shoved her golden hands beneath the curve of the ceiling and lifted it up just a few, a few more, a few more inches.

"You owe me."
