  • Electronic Counter Measure System
  • Hyperwave Transceivers

  • Sheer Firepower - The vessel relies heavily upon its sheer amount of armaments to batter through an enemy formation and dominate the battlefield.

  • Nuclear-Capable - Each Star Destroyer is outfitted with a launch tube dedicated to deploying its payload of three Phlegethon series Thermonuclear Devices.

  • ECM Suite - Like the Mothership variant, the Star Destroyer of the Tho Yor series maintains a sophisticated Electronic Counter Measure Suite which is utilized in fooling and otherwise interfering with the sensors of smart munitions that are launched against the vessel.

  • Hyperwave Transceivers - The Tho Yor II Star Destroyer utilizes special Hyperwave Transceivers to send and receive messages through a series of beacons that have been tethered in hyperspace.

  • Eshan Accords - While capable of unleashing a nuclear payload in the form of a Phlegethon series Thermonuclear Device; the devices themselves are outfitted with a safety measure that ensures that only one of these weapons is launched at a singular moment. This safety also means that were two of these vessels working in tandem, only one such device is capable of being launched from either vessel as a means to prevent abuse or otherwise fully unleash its destructive payload on an unsuspecting target.

  • Limited Starfighter Capacity - Though capable of carrying a compliment of two squadrons of starfighters; its limited hanger bay space forces it to rely upon additional starfighter support from dedicated carriers or other escort vessels.

  • Exposed Superstructure - Each vessel has six, long spire-like superstructures that jut out from the vessel, that are exposed. These spire-like protrusions have a number of weapon systems and other systems that are integral to the sections in those areas of the ship. Much like the connector tubes of the old Nebulon-B frigates, these superstructures could be targeted and blow off with concentrated firepower, weakening and otherwise disarming the vessel, or potentially causing much more catastrophic damage to the vessel.

  • Costly - Unlike the relatively cheap and easily produced Attack Vessel and Mothership variants in the Tho Yor series; the Tho Yor II Star Destroyer is much more costly to produce and maintain than the aforementioned vessels. Making it difficult for the less well off worlds of the Confederacy to field one.

  • Long Repair Times - Not only is the vessel expensive to produce and maintain, but its design is also much more complex than others in the Tho Yor series. This means that damage - specifically to its outwardly extended superstructures - takes longer to repair than other vessels in the series.

  • Small Vessels - Like many of the vessels in the Tho Yor series, the Star Destroyer also has difficulty in dealing with smaller vessels such as Corvettes, Starfighters, and Fast Attack Frigates. This forces the vessel to rely much more heavily on escort vessels and starfighters to deal with these kinds of threats.

The largest variant of the Tho Yor series, the Star Destroyer maintains the Pyramidal design that is the hallmark of the Tho Yor II class, with the largest difference being that unlike the Attack Vessel and Mothership variants; the superstructure of the Star Destroyer is further down at the base and lacks the weakness of utilizing connecting struts to keep the structure attached to the central pyramidal structure of the vessel. The Star Destroyer has a series of advantages over its sister vessels of the Tho Yor series, specifically its sheer amount of firepower that it can bring to bear against an enemy fleet or position. Additionally, it is the only vessel of the Tho Yor series that is capable of unleashing a nuclear attack, carrying with it a payload of three Phlegethon series Thermonuclear Devices that are deployed from a tube dedicated specifically for these weapons. However, with that said, in accordance with the events that happened over Eshan during the Mandalorian's decimation of that world, the vessel is only capable of unleashing one of these weapons at a time due to the safety features integrated into the weapons to prevent their mass deployment and abuse.

Other strengths of the vessel are its Hyperwave Transceiver - utilizing a series of beacons that have been tethered in hyperspace - the vessel is capable of transmitting messages more rapidly via hyperspace, than more common means of transmission via relay stations and facilities in realspace. Likewise, it is equipped with an Electonic Counter-Measure Suite to assist in confusing the sensors utilized by enemy smart weapons and similar ordinances to better defend itself against such an attack. However, it still has its own drawbacks, the most prominent of that being its lack of starfighters - with the vessel relying heavily upon escort vessels and dedicated carriers for any kind of starfighter support. Additionally, though it is bristling with weaponry, it still has a difficult time in tracking and firing upon smaller vessels such as Starfighters, Corvettes, and Fast Attack Frigates - forcing to further rely upon escort vessels to assist in screening against such enemy vessels.

Its greatest drawbacks, however, are the vessel's sheer cost, making it one of the most expensive vessels in the Tho Yor series in comparison to the relatively cost-effective designs of the Warship, Attack Vessel, and Mothership. This also means that it is more costly to maintain and repair after engagements - effectively putting the Star Destroyer out of the hands of some of the more hard-pressed worlds that wouldn't be able to afford one vessel, let along keep up with its upkeep in the long run.

A minor production ship that could nuke other ships. That in itself, is terrifying. I would note however at the time I am going to pass approval, there is still missile deactivation devices installed on some ships. I also have read up on Gir Quees notes and see no issue but I hope every player in this group follows the Eshan Accords properly else this will not end well.

Approved.
