The Story Between

The Reaper of Won Shasot
Dax looked up at the clock on the wall, a miracle it was still working. "Customs terminals are closed now. They won't let anyone up into the upper levels till tomorrow. And I don't know any smugglers around here." he said, sitting down and leaning against the counter behind him. "Any other ideas?"

"None besides stay right where we are for it is probably the safest place being as it has already been raided." She said sitting down beside him. She would lean against the back of the counter and relax for a moment. She had no clue what would happen now

"I'll take the first watch," the Rogue said as he chambered a new round into his slugthrower. "You should get some rest" the man waved his hand in the direction of the lightswitch on the wall adjacent to them, the lights above them suddenly going out, the illumination left the green flickering light outside. Shifting his wait the Rogue Knight settled in for a long night.

The watch went on, and it wasn't long before Dax noticed the quiet breatbing which indicated Aspen had fallen asleep. He took off his jacket and covered the frail woman, and returned to his watch, quietly keeping vigil. He'd let her sleep for now.

Some hours later, Dax shook the woman awake, "Hey...hey....we gotta get moving." outside, the world of Taris lit up in the dim grey light of dawn, the world's sun just barely pushing through the smog of the industrial world.

She would snap awake and automatically she would be on alert. Now that she could see again, she looked about and saw a grey light filtering in. She realized she owed this man her life, she resisted the urge to kiss him for she knew he probably wouldnt appreciate it at all. She would stand and speak "Yeah we probably should before it starts raining again"

Nodding the man stood and faced outside to the windows again, rubbig his red, tired eyes. Blinky at the new loght he waited for the woman to get her bearings...the only thing he could really think about right now was the huge meal he was goig to make once they were safe aboard the Dawn.

"Ready?" no sooner had spoken did a blaster bolt fly through the window and graze the side of the man's right knee, forcing him to the ground with a cry. Looking up he brought his slugthrower to bear on another five gangsters, firing a couple rounds.

Aspens hand would go to her blaster as soon as she heard the blaster. She would go mad when they hit Dax. She would fire round after round and hit every single one of them before coming back to Dax "Hold still I'm going to help you" She said grabbing the bacta and gauze. She would pour some on the gauze and hold it on the wound for a moment. "Can you walk?" She asked. Before he could answer she gave into her urge and her lips met his

The man fired back even as the woman's shots hit their marks, five bodies thudding to the ground in quick succession. The man did as he was told, staying in place as she retrieved the bacta and gauze. Before he'd even realized what happened he felt her lips on his. A moment of shock overtook him where he dumbly did nothing. Eventually he returned the woman's kiss and parted. "I-uh...yeah I can walk."

"At least let me help you up" She said offering him a hand. When he took it she would realize he had frozen when she kissed him, she made a note to herself to do it again later. She would instead of grabbing his hand she would grab his wrist. Once he was on his feet she would lead him out of the building and stay sharp. She was not about to be attacked again without her knowing

The two made their way down the streets, the occasional blaster soundig off in the distance setting off alarms in Dax's head. And yet, it seemed like the fighting had begun to die down. The lifts to the Upper Levels were only a few blocks away now. "Home stretch..."

As they approached the checkpoint three armed guards would stop them, barrels pointed at then, "Woah, woah boys! Easy there." Dax moved his jacket to reveal one of the two sabers he had on his person, "Jedi business. Returning to the Upper Levels.". One of the guards eyed him suspiciously, "Prove it...show me the blade." rolling his eyes Dax took out the saber, the orange blade screaming to life. In truth the color was used by both Sith and Jedi, but the guard didn't know that. Eyeing the weapon in awe he waved the two through. Soon enough they were rocketing skyward in a turbolift, almost home.

Aspen would hold her blaster down as they approached the checkpoint. As the men stopped them she was ready to fight if she needed to but as soon as Dax flashed his saber and they moved she let her guard down a little. She would look at Dax and smile a little, she owed him her life at this point for she was sure she would have been dead without him. She would move a little closer on the lift and debate whether to kiss him or not

Dax leaned against the walls of the turbolift, his eyes closed. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been shot without armor on. Usually his quick reflexes and sheer luck was enough to keep him alive. Typically, he only got shot in the more pitched battles, and then, he had armorweave to protect him.

And then there was that kiss. Dax was still unsure of...well a lot of things. But right now his muddled, groggy mind was in no state to attempt to evaluate his life. For now he'd do nothing.

Aspen would stand by as they shot towards the upper levels. She thought of the kiss and would look at Dax with a twinkle in her eyes, she looked at him and shivered as she got a warm fuzzy feeling. Her shoulder was still killing her. She held her blaster with her other hand as she looked dreamily at the man. "Dax are you ok?"

Dax chuckled, "Living the dream Aspen." he said opening his eyes to look at her. "How you feeling?" he asked her. Couldn't have her dying on him now could he?

"Ran over? Where was I when that happened?" the man joked. He let the woman slip her hand into his, their fingers intertwined. Almost immediately the turbolift doors hissed open, the sunshine reaching their eyes for the first time since arriving in the Lower Levels. Dax gave her hand a small squeeze and let go, walking forward, hands in his pockets.

Aspen would giggle at his sarcastic remark. Aspen would smile as her fingers intertwined with his, she felt her heart skip a beat and then when he let go she would frown for a moment but better to have her hands open any ways. She would grab her blaster and keep it ready but down as they made their way through the upper levels she would slip the blaster into her waistband not wanting to draw unwanted attention
