GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: The Sith Order
  • Classification: State Religious Order
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Organization Symbol: The Sith Order utilizes the ancient symbol of the Sith, which is a red sunburst derived from the even more ancient symbol of the Dark Side of the Force. At its center is the hex charm most commonly associated with Sith Assassins, referencing the Sith's secretive past alongside their more boisterous ancestry. Combined, the Sith Order embraces all of its histories despite striving to be better than those who came before.
  • Description: The Sith Other is the official religious body of the Sith Empire, born from the union of the previous Sith Order and the One Sith in the years following the Omega War. Created by the Sith Lord Kaine Zambrano and a council of his close companions, chief among them Darth Prazutis, Darth Saarai, Tirdarius, Kaalia Pavanos, and Darth Ophidia, on the moonlet Othrys. It was designed to encompass the best aspects of baseline Sith philosophy and the Rule of One, eschewing the self-destructive nature of the ancient Sith and proclaiming that all Sith would collectively work towards the common goal of galactic domination.

Like the One Sith, there would be only one Dark Lord to rule and guide the Sith, but the blind loyalty to a single individual was abandoned for faith and rational loyalty to the government in which they all served. Under his guidance the Sith Order would grow alongside the Sith Empire, serving as the unwavering fist to crush the zealots of the light and smash their houses of worship into oblivion.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
    • Dark Lord of the Sith: The religious leader of the Sith Order, considered to be not only the most powerful Sith in terms of Force strength, but also the most learned in the ways of the ancient Sith, its histories, its philosophy, and its various other teachings.
    • Shadow Hand: Also known as the Dark Lord's Wrath, the Shadow Hand is the second-in-command to the Dark Lord and is his executor and the arbiter of his will. His authority is only subordinate to that of the Dark Lord.
    • Dark Councilors: The Dark Councilors are those Sith Lords who comprise the five seats of the Emperor's Dark Council, each one directing a portion of the Empire's infrastructure and maintaining its cohesion.
    • Sith Triumvirs: Beneath the Shadow Hand is three Sith Lords who have come to embody specific elements of the Sith Order, that of Strength, Knowledge, and Power.
      • Triumvir of Strength: The Triumvir of Strength embodies the warriors and berserkers of the Sith Order, and is tasked with maintaining the Order's robust martial strength.
      • Triumvir of Knowledge: The Triumvir of Knowledge embodies the scholars and priests of the Sith Order, and is tasked with maintaining the Order's history and traditions.
      • Triumvir of Power: The Triumvir of Power embodies the alchemists and sorcerers of the Sith Order, and is tasked with maintaining the Order's menagerie of beasts and monsters.
    • Sith Lords: A Sith who advances in the Order’s hierarchy will eventually be elevated to Sith Lord. His or her name is preceded by “Lord” in a formal address, while many take a new name at this point, symbolically embracing their transformation into something greater.
    • Sith Overseers: An instructor at the Sith Academy is called an overseer. Overseers are often Sith Lords, but that rank is not a requirement; they may simply be Sith with a talent for instruction.
    • Sith Knights: Sith Knights are apprentices whose skills have brought them beyond the tutelage of their Sith masters, allowing them to travel the Empire and accrue apprentices of their own. The majority of Sith belong to this rank.
    • Sith Apprentice: Sith Apprentice is a rank granted to a Sith Acolyte who has been chosen by a Sith Knight or Sith Lord to be their apprentice.
    • Sith Acolytes: Sith Acolyte is a granted to Force-sensitive individuals who have been initiated into Sith Order; they would remain under the tutelage of an Overseer; until they are selected or assigned to a Sith Knight or Sith Lord as their apprentice.
    • Sith Initiates: Sith Initiates are those hopefuls who are competing to join the ranks of the Sith Order, and are often pulled from the ranks of the Imperial citizenry or even recruited from the Empire's slave population.
  • Membership: The Sith Order boasts of maintaining somewhere around fifteen to twenty thousand members at any given time, from the lowest acolyte to the Dark Lord of the Sith himself. The Sith Empire goes to great lengths to acquire Force-sensitives at an early age, often requiring hospitals to perform mandatory Midi-chlorian tests on newborns to test for adequate levels of Force-sensitivity. The parents of those newborns that pass the test are then given a choice; they can either keep their child and raise it as they would, or they could willingly hand it over to the Imperial Government and receive generous monetary benefits in return.

It is often stated by government officials that their child would bring great glory and triumph to the Empire and that their family would be elevated to grandeur. Those babies that are handed over to the Empire are relocated to specialized nurseries designed to teach the Sith ideology at infancy and coax out an individual's latent Force potential and harness it to better benefit the Sith Order.

Because the Sith Empire is a relatively new government, most of its Order was recruited by scouring newly annexed territory for any notable Force-sensitive individuals and recruiting them as Sith Acolytes.

Both children taken at birth and those recruited later in life are sent to Sith Academies once they have reached a particular threshold of knowledge, primarily the basics of the Force and Lightsaber combat. There they are fine-tuned by capable instructors into the future warriors of the Sith, their hatred, rage, passion, sadness, grief, joy, and fear harnessed to better serve as conduits for the Dark Side of the Force. It is here where the majority of casualties during training occur, with only the strongest, smartest, or most cunning surviving to graduate.

After graduation from the Sith Academies, acolytes are then taken under the wing of Knights or Lords at the discretion of the latter. If an acolyte is unable to find a suitable master, or had failed the academy but still survived after, they were sent to serve in another sector of the Sith Empire.

Those who are acquired by a Sith knight or master will be inducted as a full-fledged acolyte and will live, eat, and train at their master's residence. throughout their apprenticeship with them. Only after an acolyte has been knighted by their master will they be granted their own housing, which is controlled by the Sith government and is organized similarly to university dorms. Sith Knights are also officially considered servants of the state and are categorized as government employees, thus earning their own regular wages as they serve as the discretion of their peers across the Empire.

When a Sith Knight reaches a point where their skills have evolved enough to be considered masterful, they are summoned before the Dark Lord and a small collection of their peers in the Sith Order at the Ascendant Circle Hall on Bastion. There, via a short ceremony, they are granted the title of Lord of the Sith by the graces of the Dark Lord and join the upper echelons of the Order. At that stage, they are allotted a personal residence within a Sith Academy or notable stronghold (while also being allowed to construct or purchase their own accommodation afterward), to hold positions of political power in the Empire, and wage independent campaigns on behalf of the Dark Lord.
  • Influence: The Sith Order holds considerable sway within the Sith Empire, with its members comprising the majority of its leadership in nearly every branch of government except the military and civil bureaucracy. It is not uncommon to see individual members form their own personal fiefdoms within the Empire, often to exert their own authority over a select group of Imperial Citizens while still adhering to the greater laws of the Empire.
  • Climate: Members of the Sith Order are taught that they are the warriors of destiny, and while this type of propaganda may lose its luster on older members, newer Sith tend to latch onto this heroic ideal. They view their inclusion in the Sith Order with immense pride and are dedicated to carrying out its goals across the galaxy in order to usher in a new golden age for the Sith. On the flip-side, the members who have existed far longer than the Sith Order have different interpretations on the Sith Code and the role of the Sith in the galaxy, but are generally held to the Order's ideals by a combination of the Dark Lord's unifying presence, the prospect of conquest, personal gain, and wealth.
  • Reputation: The Sith Order has become synonymous with terror, tyranny, and oppression in the few scant years of its existence. In that time they have become the face of the modern Sith and are indistinguishable from the Sith Empire they readily serve. There are those, mainly within the Empire's borders, who view the Sith Order as an egalitarian organization that accepts all species, genders, and sexual identities into its ranks and is instrumental in bringing order and stability to the perceived lawlessness and barbarity of an Outer Rim which has languished under Republic neglect and cultist anarchism.
  • Rules:
    • No self-destructive infighting
    • Healthy competition between Sith is allowed, barring that such competition doesn't go against the tenets and decrees of the Sith Empire or work against its interests
    • The practice of the Light Side of the Force is completely banned within the Sith Order, with any reported cases being reviewed by the Saaraishash
    • Members of the Sith Order are not allowed to cavort with members of Light Side organizations such as the Jedi, with the exceptions of combat, detainment, torture, execution, and conversion if possible
    • Sith reserve several special privileges available only to members of the Sith Order that denotes a clear distinction between them and the Imperial Citizenry of the Sith Empire
    • Asset-owning Sith must pay a percentage of their earnings back to the Imperial Government in relation to their total amount of assets
    • To observe and respect the diplomatic relations of the Sith Empire, and to never utilize Imperial assets against those allied to the Empire
    • Sith are subject to the rules of engagement in the same manner as the Imperial military, and can only deviate with permission from the Ruling Council and the Sith Emperor
  • Doctrines: The philosophy of the Sith Order is known as the Rule of Order, though it has been unofficially referred to as Kainism. The tenets of the Rule of Order are as follows:
    • Unification among all Sith with the purpose of channeling power into fulfilling the destiny of the Sith to rule over all the known and unknown galaxy.
    • No acquiring power for power's sake, and instead utilizing personal power to further the ambitions of the collective Order.
    • Bringing Order, not Chaos, to those territories that fall under the Sith Empire's control and authority.
    • It is the pre-determined destiny of the Sith to rule the galaxy as its sole master, and thus all worlds and all people are the subjects of our collective will.
    • The Dark Lord of the Sith is the guiding force that drives the Sith to magnificence, but he is not to be blindly followed without question, a Sith's full loyalty should lie with the Empire in which all strive to serve.
    • A Sith is the master of their fate, not the other way around, the Dark Side enables us to shape the future to our designs.
    • Emotions are a powerful tool, perhaps the greatest in a Sith's arsenal of the Dark Side, but do not let yourself succumb to your emotions. A Sith is a warrior king, dignified, cunning, and noble; not a berserker that lashes out indiscriminately.
    • The other Sith in the Order are your comrades, they seek to achieve the same goal as the rest of us. Yet caution should never waiver from one's being, trickery and self-interest run deep in our heritage and it is difficult, if not impossible, to fully escape such impulses.
    • Through the Dark Side we achieve a power greater than any Jedi, but to view the Force through only one aspect is a narrow-mindedness reserved for the Jedi. A Sith, in order to become the supreme being we are all destined to become, must study every aspect of the Force; even the nature of the Light Side and its followers in order to better understand how to destroy them.
  • Goals:
    • Establishment of a galaxy-spanning Sith Empire
    • The eradication of the Jedi (and it's various off-shoots)
    • Accumulate all knowledge in the galaxy
    • Proliferate Sith-Imperialism to all corners of the galaxy

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

When the One Sith Empire collapsed following the Omega War, the many Sith who had served under its banner fled into the wildest corners of the galaxy. Some raised their own soldiers and carved out personal fiefdoms in the shattered remains of the One Sith's territory while others went into hiding to await the next rising darkness. Then there were some like the former Voice of the Dark Lord Kaine Zambrano, now going by the title of Darth Carnifex, who traveled to the territories of the First Order to continue the fight against the Galactic Alliance.
After aiding the First Order for many months he found that his ideas were incompatible with the majority of the First Order's beliefs. Though they were imperial like him, they believed in different virtues and were disinterested in the Sith philosophy.
Zambrano left the First Order to pursue his own destiny, assembling a collection of Sith Lords, Ladies, and Knights to his side at the moonlet of Othrys. There he convened a conclave to determine the future of the Sith, and after much debate, it would be decided that the Sith would need to re-invent themselves in order to survive. The teachings of the Sith who came before them were examined and were stripped of their most lackluster elements, culminating in a new philosophy that combined the collective unity of the One Sith and the more basic tenets of the ancient Sith.
This new belief was called the Rule of Order.
Armed with ardent belief and a furious desire to raise the Sith to a new magnificence, the Sith Lord Tai Fa nominated that Kaine Zambrano should be appointed to the position of Dark Lord of the Sith. He was an infamous figure among the Sith who had lived through both the Old Empire and the One Sith, and his mere presence would serve as a unifying force to all of the Sith in the galaxy receptive to his teachings.
With Kaine Zambrano as Dark Lord, the Sith Order was truly formed. They departed Othrys for the Pentastar Alignment and took control over the Sith Ascendancy, a small fiefdom of Sith who had escaped the carnage of the One Sith's collapse and sought to reestablish Sith dominance in the Tingel Arm. Many aspects of the old Ascendancy were dropped and the government was remodeled into the New Sith Empire, with the impenetrable fortress world of Bastion selected to serve as its capital.
The Order quickly became ingrained as the sole religious body of the nascent Sith Empire and swelled in number with the acquisition of the holy Sith worlds of the Stygian Caldera. On the former throne-world of Dromund Kaas, Kaine Zambrano officially re-established his lineage to the Old Empire and reclaimed his former title of Sith Emperor, further legitimizing the Sith Order as the rightful successors to the heirs of the Exiles.

That's a big number, but seems consistent with canon - I'm thinking the Prequel-era Jedi, and the general scale of the Old Republic game setting. Considering how long TSE has been doing its thing, how many Sith factions' leftovers it can draw on, and how much of the galaxy it owns, I don't really have a problem with this.

Approved pending secondary.
